I purchase a Rugged Ridge Water Resistant Cab Cover for my 2009 Jeep Wrangler. I loved it water leaked onto driver and passenger floor boards and shorted out the electronics (light, horn, air compressor) on my driver side. The cover didnt fit the doors properly (at the side or bottom). I contacted Extreme Terrain and they denied it was a fitment issue. I contacted the manufacturer Rugged Ridge and they immediately stated it was a fitment issue and are sending a replacement. Customer Service goes a LONG way.
First they sold me a tire that they didn't actually have in stock but didn't mention that at the time of the purchase (when they took the money for the darn thing). So they sold me a tire that they didn't actually have to sell. But still took the money. Real Nice folks aren't they? They waited for three days and sent me an email to informing me of this. When I called to inquire about the tire's availability, they time frame given was "it varies". Second, they sold me a "wheel and tire build kit". This is the tire and wheel purchased together, will be mounted and balanced, aired up and sent to you ready to be installed. Well, today I received four tires without the wheels. So, there goes the "wheel and tire build kit". Did I mention how nice these folks are yet? It's obviously not going to be ready to installed when and if it all even gets here. This is just really a big disappointment because I spent some big $$$$ here thinking that it was all going to be worth it. A one stop shop at the tip of your fingers. Not even close. My experience here makes me think that not having finger tips might be more pleasant that purchasing from extremeterrain.com. It's been nothing but a head ache. ExtremeMigraine.com is what they should have named this company.
I ordered a Jeep hard top for my sons Jeep on March 3 and according to the web site it was in stock and would ship right away. Extreme Terrain charged my credit card immediately and never sent me a shipping confirmation so after 2 weeks I called and was told the top would not ship until April 2. I asked to have my credit card credited back but it never happened. I called many times for about 2 - 3 weeks and got a big run around, I was told several times that a supervisor would call me back and get everything corrected but it never happened. I finally canceled the order and I am still waiting on conformation of the cancellation. I would not recommend buying anything from Extreme Terrain.
I bout an item in January 4th and it just now ships. I asked originally for it to be cancelled when they told me it was out of stock... Never did get cancelled but shipped after already bought elsewhere for 25 dollars vs the $60 they charge with shipping. Now i do not even get a full refund... Oh yea if you need to return something you do not get full refund only partial. Highly do not recommend!
First time ordering, NO mention not in stock and 6-days later, rec'd email stating part was on back order and they had ALREADY charged my credit card. BUYER BEWARE!
I bought 4 wheels and the fourth never showed. I emailed and called and Sal "customer service manager" said oh yeah that one is lost in transit... I'll send another over night that was Thursday here it is Monday and online it still shows it has not left the warehouse... I will never buy Jeep parts again from this company and I advise you to look elsewhere even if it cost more, your paying for customer service... I'd give less than zero if possible.
Only because I can't put 0-stars. This business is absolutely ridiculous. Ive ordered a couple things from ExtremeTerrain and always had an issue one way or another. The first set of steps I ordered said it was for a 4-Door Jeep Wrangler JK 2007-2018. Even the picture was for a 4-door, nope they were for a 2-door. Now I just got my new ones after uninstalling and returning the last wrong steps (and driving to return them to a specific location) to find out that they only fit for a 07-13. Mine is a 2014 and there's definitely a difference. Their shotty website still says they fit for 07-18. They were so far off when I was installing them I had to google the model number and that's how I found out. I'm so frustrated right now. I'll never be a customer again. Customer service is probably the most important business factor in my opinion, and I was berated. I asked what they'd do for me for my inconveniences. I feel at the least they should've offered me an upgraded compatible set of steps, and/or reimburse me for my time, gas, and all the frustration that has been occurring, causing many unnecessary problems in my life. NOPE... They don't care about customer service or evidently re-peat customers because they said we'll put $50 credit on your account... That was a slap in my face. Now I don't have any rails and where the old bolt holes used to be are starting to rust out. Thanks Extreme Terrain for being a joke. FYI- potential Jeep parts shoppers, do your research like I should've done. There's way better pricing and parts all across the internet.
Bought a part from Extreme Terrain that cost me $200 to install. Part turned out to be defective and will have to be replaced. Extreme Terrain refused to stand behind the product and to reimburse me for my wasted expenditure on shop labor (not to speak of my wasted time).
You take your chances with Extreme Terrain, in stark contrast to Amazon's customer service policies.
Ordered a hard top Nov 5,2018, was told 2 weeks delivery. At 2 weeks was told 4 weeks, at 4 weeks told first week in January. First week in January was told March. Out $120.00, no top and a run around and waste of time from the start. I would never ever buy from this company again. Communication is complicated, condescending and just blatant lies.
Purchased $275 worth of equip from extreme terrain. I bought only that which was "in stock" with a delivery the next Tuesday. I was leaving on a Jeep run on a Thursday. I received the confirmation email from extreme terrain and double checked the charge went through to my credit card.
Tuesday comes; Tuesday goes. No delivery. I search back through my email to find the confirmation and get a contact number for status. In addition to the confirmation I received 7 additional BS spam marketing email... one of which stated there was a problem with my order and it was suspended until I call them. I frantically called to talk to some idiot who says there's "no issue" we suspend everyone's first order and the we randomly suspend orders after the first. He says it's a part of their "risk management" process. Are you kidding me? What "risk" are you managing if you RANDOMLY screw people over? No fraud. No reports. A $36,000 limit on the card. A 768 credit score. The addresses match. They told me the "issue resolution" team is gone for the day. I'll have to call back tomorrow but they assure me there is no "issue". Why the hell am I having to sit home this weekend because extreme terrain "managed their risk" by randomly screwing me? I have now got to call the "issue resolution team" when there is no "issue"
They supply you with deceptive delivery promises, they take your money and they suspend your order.
Bad business. Beware. I'll never do business with them again.
I ordered a set of mirrors for my Jeep from this site along with a cell phone holder. When the phone device shipped without the mirrors, I inquired to customer service. I was told they would ship in another week. After three more weeks I asked again and was told 2 more weeks. In all, I waited 10 weeks for the mirrors meaning I couldn't drive with my doors off the whole summer. I only heard from customer service when I initiated an inquiry and I never got a valid response.
In the mean time, Extreme Terrain has bought All things Jeep, another online vendor I use. Needless to say, I've now lost confidence in two vendors. Search for some place that stocks products and buy somewhere that treats customers like they are valued.
Answer: They have broken several federal consumer protection laws in my 2 experiences with them.
Answer: Scam as far as I'm concerned. Cheat you out of product and don't make it right, how else do you describe them?
Answer: Not worth giving this company a second chance. Other more legit companies to purchase from.
Answer: Have a lot of time, be patient and expect nothing. ANd you will be fine. If
