Terrible service with only an apology to offer. Will never shop there again. I am surprised they are still in business as all the reviews support what I am saying.
I wanted to surprise my GF with new tires and rims for Christmas. Put the order on Black Friday. By Dec 14, Everything but 2 tires arrived. When I called, they informed me that the 2 tires had been lost - but something about a label being generated,, bla bla bla. But they were going to do me a FAVER and resend them even though their policy was to put a claim in first. Still no tires. I call today and they still had not shipped the tires. They start telling me I had to get all the tracking numbers off the items for them, bla bla bla. Told them to take the tires back and I'd get them somewhere else and they tell me that I have to pay the return frieghtmayself. Place is a JOKE... So aggervated!
Alex didn't seem to care that the wrong item was shipped, this error cost me over $120.00. The customs / import fees and taxes for items made in China are extremely high.
What I purchased was "made in the USA" and I was sent an item from China. I did my research, I believed your website. The fact that he just didn't care is the reason I'll probably never buy from Extreme Terrain again.
They sent the wrong part out to me 3 times, afterwards 3 months later they called me and threatened collections. What a joke. 3 months late my friend, your part is gone and not in my hands any longer. Go harass someone else!
Tried to order a couple items on 2 different occasions. Both times underwhelmed on delivery and then quality and both times on customer service. Currently stuck in limbo with parts they are deciding whether they fit my stock jeep or not. Extreme Migraine.
Ordered a set of KC HiLites. I was given an expected ship date, they never came. Contacted customer service and they told me that it was back ordered. They gave me a1 to 2 week estimate, fair enough. On the second week I contacted them again to get the status of my order, now it's 2-3 weeks out, really! Why would the customer have to contact the seller for an update every time the seller fails to meet the estimated ship date.
This is not life or death, just parts for a Jeep. My issue is that I shouldn't have to contact them every time they miss a deadline.
"I walked away Xtremely annoyed. I've made a few purchases from them in the past month. The last one will be just that my last!. I spent $2200+ on a set of new rims and tires. I was confused by their listing, saying that Mounting and Balancing was available for an extra charge. But I was not able to find how to add the extra charge to my cart.
I ended up chatting with customer service who proceeded to tell me that mounting and balancing was free and they used to charge for it but their listings have not been updated.
So I placed an order, to my surprise tires and rims were shipped separately. When I called customer service I was told the order was placed incorrectly. I had to select Mounting and Balancing on the order. Problem is I did not have the option. I went as far as to create a document including screen shots of exactly how I filled my cart. They agreed that I did not have the option to select mounting and balancing, and that the website should have displayed the option to me.
After multiple phone calls the best I got them to do was refund me $15/tire.
Somehow, problem with their website is my fault. Companies need to be accountable for the products that they sell as well as the technology they use to sell those products.
It's very disappointing because they have a good selection of products and good product reviews/ product videos. I just won't be able to continue to be a customer.
Sincerely,
Unsatisfied Former Customer..."
I first googled getting a quarter panel window replacement for my Jeep. Extreme Terrain came up. I decided to give them a try. I ordered the part. It came one week later however it wasn't a window it was a door. I truly believed I had ordered the wrong part. I called and the customer service rep he helped me order the correct part. It came one week later however it was the wrong part. I called again, explained what had happened and explained that I was leaving for vacation in 2 days and needed to have the window prior to leaving. I had to pay extra for the expedited shipping because they would not pay for it. Guess what, it just got here and it's the wrong part AGAIN. Not a happy camper. I would NOT suggest this company to anyone. Save yourself some aggravation buy elsewhere.
Several wasted hours and wasted money because they keep sending the wrong products. I had one simple order and we're going on the second week of them repeatedly sending me the wrong products. I'll never order again!
They advertised that a product to hold my soft top windows would fit my JL windows. I bought it in November and did not need to use it until July. When I got it out to use it I discovered that it did not fit my JL windows like advertised. I contacted customer service and they said since it was past 30 days there was nothing they could do even though it was because of their incorrect advertising. I have filed a complaint with the Better Business Bureau. Do not buy from them!
I purchase a Rugged Ridge Water Resistant Cab Cover for my 2009 Jeep Wrangler. I loved it water leaked onto driver and passenger floor boards and shorted out the electronics (light, horn, air compressor) on my driver side. The cover didnt fit the doors properly (at the side or bottom). I contacted Extreme Terrain and they denied it was a fitment issue. I contacted the manufacturer Rugged Ridge and they immediately stated it was a fitment issue and are sending a replacement. Customer Service goes a LONG way.
First they sold me a tire that they didn't actually have in stock but didn't mention that at the time of the purchase (when they took the money for the darn thing). So they sold me a tire that they didn't actually have to sell. But still took the money. Real Nice folks aren't they? They waited for three days and sent me an email to informing me of this. When I called to inquire about the tire's availability, they time frame given was "it varies". Second, they sold me a "wheel and tire build kit". This is the tire and wheel purchased together, will be mounted and balanced, aired up and sent to you ready to be installed. Well, today I received four tires without the wheels. So, there goes the "wheel and tire build kit". Did I mention how nice these folks are yet? It's obviously not going to be ready to installed when and if it all even gets here. This is just really a big disappointment because I spent some big $$$$ here thinking that it was all going to be worth it. A one stop shop at the tip of your fingers. Not even close. My experience here makes me think that not having finger tips might be more pleasant that purchasing from extremeterrain.com. It's been nothing but a head ache. ExtremeMigraine.com is what they should have named this company.
I ordered a Jeep hard top for my sons Jeep on March 3 and according to the web site it was in stock and would ship right away. Extreme Terrain charged my credit card immediately and never sent me a shipping confirmation so after 2 weeks I called and was told the top would not ship until April 2. I asked to have my credit card credited back but it never happened. I called many times for about 2 - 3 weeks and got a big run around, I was told several times that a supervisor would call me back and get everything corrected but it never happened. I finally canceled the order and I am still waiting on conformation of the cancellation. I would not recommend buying anything from Extreme Terrain.
I bout an item in January 4th and it just now ships. I asked originally for it to be cancelled when they told me it was out of stock... Never did get cancelled but shipped after already bought elsewhere for 25 dollars vs the $60 they charge with shipping. Now i do not even get a full refund... Oh yea if you need to return something you do not get full refund only partial. Highly do not recommend!
First time ordering, NO mention not in stock and 6-days later, rec'd email stating part was on back order and they had ALREADY charged my credit card. BUYER BEWARE!
I bought 4 wheels and the fourth never showed. I emailed and called and Sal "customer service manager" said oh yeah that one is lost in transit... I'll send another over night that was Thursday here it is Monday and online it still shows it has not left the warehouse... I will never buy Jeep parts again from this company and I advise you to look elsewhere even if it cost more, your paying for customer service... I'd give less than zero if possible.
Only because I can't put 0-stars. This business is absolutely ridiculous. Ive ordered a couple things from ExtremeTerrain and always had an issue one way or another. The first set of steps I ordered said it was for a 4-Door Jeep Wrangler JK 2007-2018. Even the picture was for a 4-door, nope they were for a 2-door. Now I just got my new ones after uninstalling and returning the last wrong steps (and driving to return them to a specific location) to find out that they only fit for a 07-13. Mine is a 2014 and there's definitely a difference. Their shotty website still says they fit for 07-18. They were so far off when I was installing them I had to google the model number and that's how I found out. I'm so frustrated right now. I'll never be a customer again. Customer service is probably the most important business factor in my opinion, and I was berated. I asked what they'd do for me for my inconveniences. I feel at the least they should've offered me an upgraded compatible set of steps, and/or reimburse me for my time, gas, and all the frustration that has been occurring, causing many unnecessary problems in my life. NOPE... They don't care about customer service or evidently re-peat customers because they said we'll put $50 credit on your account... That was a slap in my face. Now I don't have any rails and where the old bolt holes used to be are starting to rust out. Thanks Extreme Terrain for being a joke. FYI- potential Jeep parts shoppers, do your research like I should've done. There's way better pricing and parts all across the internet.
Bought a part from Extreme Terrain that cost me $200 to install. Part turned out to be defective and will have to be replaced. Extreme Terrain refused to stand behind the product and to reimburse me for my wasted expenditure on shop labor (not to speak of my wasted time).
You take your chances with Extreme Terrain, in stark contrast to Amazon's customer service policies.
Ordered a hard top Nov 5,2018, was told 2 weeks delivery. At 2 weeks was told 4 weeks, at 4 weeks told first week in January. First week in January was told March. Out $120.00, no top and a run around and waste of time from the start. I would never ever buy from this company again. Communication is complicated, condescending and just blatant lies.
Purchased $275 worth of equip from extreme terrain. I bought only that which was "in stock" with a delivery the next Tuesday. I was leaving on a Jeep run on a Thursday. I received the confirmation email from extreme terrain and double checked the charge went through to my credit card.
Tuesday comes; Tuesday goes. No delivery. I search back through my email to find the confirmation and get a contact number for status. In addition to the confirmation I received 7 additional BS spam marketing email... one of which stated there was a problem with my order and it was suspended until I call them. I frantically called to talk to some idiot who says there's "no issue" we suspend everyone's first order and the we randomly suspend orders after the first. He says it's a part of their "risk management" process. Are you kidding me? What "risk" are you managing if you RANDOMLY screw people over? No fraud. No reports. A $36,000 limit on the card. A 768 credit score. The addresses match. They told me the "issue resolution" team is gone for the day. I'll have to call back tomorrow but they assure me there is no "issue". Why the hell am I having to sit home this weekend because extreme terrain "managed their risk" by randomly screwing me? I have now got to call the "issue resolution team" when there is no "issue"
They supply you with deceptive delivery promises, they take your money and they suspend your order.
Bad business. Beware. I'll never do business with them again.
Answer: They have broken several federal consumer protection laws in my 2 experiences with them.
Answer: Scam as far as I'm concerned. Cheat you out of product and don't make it right, how else do you describe them?
Answer: Not worth giving this company a second chance. Other more legit companies to purchase from.
Answer: Have a lot of time, be patient and expect nothing. ANd you will be fine. If
