Terrible customer service
September 26, 2023

Why would Express Scripts ever consider associating themselves with Accredo.?
Accredo customer reviews are the lowest ever rating.

Accredo is their chosen 'Speciality Pharmacy'... but in reality Accredo is in the specialty of infuriating customers.
How would you like it if you called Accredo and they accepted the third refill of a 12 month prescription. You then receive an email stating your order has been accepted and will be shipped. Two days later you get a voice mail on Saturday (while you're on vacation hiking in Washington Olympics) stating your order cannot be shipped and to call Accredo customer service ASAP. Now you have to hike off the mountain to find good cell connection.
Customer Service tells you that they need you to contact your doctor for a NEW PRESCRIPTION before they can fulfill the third month shipment of a 12 month prescription?!
All this occurs on a Saturday when your doctor is not in his office.!
Finally, it takes 3 hours of phone calls before you are assured the shipment will be sent.
Express Scripts has made a huge customer service mistake partnering with Accredo.

I have been with Express Scripts for 12 years since retiring from the Army. They just continually send the prescriptions too often, thereby building up a pile of excessive drugs. Every 2 months they send 3 months. Then when they run out 9 months later, they call my doctor for more. This gets me in trouble with my doctor.

If you don't want to deal with this, they threaten to cancel you. I have spoken with them many times, but they don't care. It's just money to them.

I had to make a change to my payment information. The rep immediately started telling what she can't do and didn't ask any questions. Then argued with me. All I wanted to do was change my cc information. Very poorly trained customer service staff. The service is great as long as you don't need help from a live person. If you can just search for better alternative. Or just google-search for 'TOPA2GET' and you forget about any probs getting rx.

All They Want Is Money
September 8, 2023

I was prompted to set up a delivery for medication, and I informed Express Scripts, known to me as Accredo, that I needed to know how much it was going to cost before I consented to the shipment. I was told an estimate of $1,908 and that it could be adjusted once my insurance, Regence, was contacted, and the copay amount confirmed. We set up a tentative shipment date of March 8,2023, reassured that I could cancel. The medication arrived at my doctor's office, The Portland Clinic, on February 28,2023, unknown to me until they called to set up an appointment for injection. I refused as I was never told how much I would owe if I went forward with the injection. I attempted to call Regence myself for an estimate but they were not able to give me one without a Diagnosis Code, Procedure Code, Provider Name, an A J Code, and whether it was considered a therapeutic injection. No one was able to provide me with this information. Sometime after June 6,2023, I received a bill from Express Scripts for $1,563.32. After countless communication between myself and Express Scripts, The Portland Clinic, and Regence, Express Scripts found me not at fault for the amount owed on July 31,2023: saying that the employee I spoke with should not have said that the amount due could be adjusted after it was shipped, because once it is shipped, an invoice is created, the claim was sent to the insurance company, so the amount quoted to me would be my copay and I would be responsible, but failed to let me know, only continued to send me bills and ask for payment every time I called. As of September 8,2023 I cannot get a turnaround time for when the amount will be charged off, and I keep receiving bills in the mail.

WORST PHARMACY!
September 6, 2023

Don't expect to receive your meds. If your meds are controlled you will NEVER see them. Several calls from my proscribed doctor and still no meds. Obviously someone there is taking meds that don't belong to them, cause I never received them. This happened more than once and yet still received a bill for pills I never received. They are under investigation through my company

The worst.
August 30, 2023

Never can get your medication to you on time.
Customer service is a joke.
Deny medications that your physician prescribes.
Every single month it is a hassle just to get my meds and get them covered. If I had $1 for every form and appeal I have had to do this year, I could probably buy myself a new car.

There is such a language barrier with the regular customer service reps and getting a supervisor on the line can be the worst thing on the planet. I once called and asked for the preauthorization department... They asked why I wanted to speak to them... Hmm. I want to buy a trampoline WHY DO YOU THINK I WANT TO TALK TO THEM?!

Oh, and I noticed they are getting sued by numerous states for overcharging. Ugh.

Won't process my orders
August 19, 2023

I have never left a negative review on anything in my entire life but these last 3 years dealing with express scripts has been one of the most frustrating and unending experiences I hope I will ever have. All I want is my birth control which I am unfortunately forced to get through express scripts if I want to use my insurance. I place my refill order on the site, I get an email saying my order is placed, I can check my order history and it's there, yet nothing beyond that ever happens, my medicine never comes and I end up having to rush order it to Walgreens and often pay for it out of pocket. When I call all I can get is a stupid robot telling me it's "in progress" even though it clearly isn't since it's been well over two weeks and I've had no update. The one time I actually managed to get a person she told me I hadn't placed an order, which I have the email to prove that's not true, and placed it for me. At that time I was on a different birth control that I could not afford the out of pocket price and had to wait till it arrived like a week after I had run out. It completely threw off my cycle causing me to be on my period for nearly 2 months, I had to go in to the doctors to get tested for anemia. Consequently I got switched to a new pill so the one time express scripts actually delivered my medication to me it was useless and I ended up throwing it out. I have been on this new pill for a year now and I have paid for it out of pocket every single refill, each time having to explain to Walgreens why. I'm just so frustrated and hope that one day this personal hell will end. Express Scripts, I hope you choke on your own spit and die.

Poor service over all
August 11, 2023

Since my company switched to their service, I have not had one good experience. Even talking to customer service, they sound like they don't want to be there. They wanted me to do their job, sending me to contact my doctor or pharmacy, etc. The errors are bad. The automated system and app notify me so many times and switch back and forth between authorized, processing, hold, cancelled, etc. I call and get different answers from the live agent than the app shows. The app gave me an arrival date. App shows processing. It just shipped finally, but now it is late and I don't have medication. They didn't care. I called, they did not send me overnight one dose or anything.

Constant Delays
August 10, 2023

I get Constant Delays in a medication that has a Pre Auth in place. I have spent at least 16 hours over a period of several days on the phone wiith them and they had the nerve to stop the processing to try and figure out what's going on. The Prior Auth is good for a year, and I have gotten but 2 fills out of them, 1 for 60 days and 1 for 90 days. The prior auth ends next month... There's something seriously wrong with Express Scripts and thier policies. I'm sorry I ever switched. If could select 0 stars, I would selct it 5 times!

Diabetes meds denied
August 9, 2023

They give you the run around, denying your medications for retail pharmacy, then they take weeks to resolve before you can get mail order meds initiated. My doctor spent hours along with myself escalating various issues before we could get my meds filled. I was forced without medication for weeks. They claim they sent notification via email regarding my retail benefits that I never received. I have been on this routine medication for over a year and every month is a struggle getting it filled with Express Scripts.

Like all benefits administrators the company makes money from denying you coverage, not from keeping you healthy. But they are more aggressive than most. Their bet is you will give up, so they can make more money. Next time I am offered a job, I will seriously consider declining the offer if they use this awful company.

If I could give zero, I would. Express Scripts is the most difficult pharmacy plan ever. If you have specialty drugs they make it extremely difficult to fill. They question the doctors repeatedly for the diagnosis they have been repeatedly given. They question it every time delaying life sustaining medications. These medications are not free. We pay large sums for the medication. Their customer service is rude, unhelpful and unknowledgable of their own rx's and your coverage. It is a shame employer force you to take Express Scripts. They are a monopoly company that needs to be monitored. They are owned/a part of CIGNA.

On 7/24/2023, ES notified my primary care doctor (a certified pain management specialist) that they no longer would allow him to write my prescriptions for tramadol, my baseline pain control medication for the past 13 years ever since I was shot through both thighs by a.30-06 bullet. I use hydrocodone for "break-through " pain, 0-1/day. Now my only pain med is hydrocodone, a far more addictive opioid than tramadol. I am planning to initiate a class action lawsuit against ES, and possibly the FDA, if I can gather together enough other pain patients with similar stories. Respond here, and look for a cause-specific email to be posted here in the near future. Requirements are:
1. Chronic moderate to severe chronic pain of incurable origin
2. Currently under the care of a certified pain management specialist or neurologist
3. Recently had Express Scripts refuse / stop filling your baseline pain medication, either leaving you with inadequate pain control and/or reliance upon more addictive opioids (e.g.: hydrocodone, oxycodone, Demerol, etc.) as your sole pain medication
4. Previously generally satisfied with Express Scripts, excluding infrequent glitches with Rx deliveries or the supply chain interruptions during the COVID-19 pandemic.

I am 74 years old and a 50-year medical professional. I do not expect to survive long enough to derive even the slightest benefit from this proposed class action lawsuit, rather I am planning on starting it because it is the right thing to do. Until now both my wife and I have been surprisingly happy with ES, despite the occasional glitch. But they do NOT have the right to override the carefully managed treatment plan of my pain management specialist. I have steadfastly declined to accept or fill any narcotic prescriptions from any but my single physician. I am 100% certain there are many other patients currently in my situation, so let me hear from you! (Spring, TX - just north of Houston)

My teenage daughter is a Type
1 diabetic and I was needing her insulin refilled. I placed an order approximately 1 week prior to her running out. There was an issue with the medication without me knowing until I checked the status of the refill 3 days later and it was not processed. I called to see what was happening and they processed the order. However, this would put her going approximately 2 days without insulin. The agent was pleasant but did not offer any solution (like expediting the medicine) she sent me to a pharmacist to tell me what would happen if she went without this medication. We have lived with disease for over 7 years, we know what would happen. The pharmacist was extremely rude and did not accurately tell us what would happen if she went 2 days without insulin, which would have most likely resulted in death. The pharmacist verbally "huffed" like a teenage girl. Completely unprofessional. This company knows that customers like us have no other option except to pay more at a retail pharmacy, so they do not care how they treat customers. I finally reached spoke to customer service after being on the phone for 30 minutes and she informed us that we could expedite the medication. Something the agent never mentioned. This would cost $21, but what else could we do? Let our child die? Totally incompetent and horrible customer care.

It's truly ironic they have "express" in their name, nothing express about them, and if you want to talk to someone, prepare to be hung up on the phone, disconnected from the chat. Just impossible. Is one of those nightmare companies, that are still alive because the my employer forces me to use the service.

When I was moved to Express Scripts, I sent in one of my major prescriptions for a 90 day supply. With all the problems it took 3.5 weeks to get it. I was without one of my important drugs as they would tell me one thing today, different from yesterday and again tomorrow. It went on and on and I don't want them to ship me any other prescriptions. I will get all now from local sources.

I am currently a asthmatic patient with COPD and use Spiriva Handi Haler daily along with various other memdications. I have been trying to get my perscription filled, the doctor sent along with the pre authorization letter and it was still denied. This has been going on since January. I have spent endless hours on the phone with the doctor and with express scripts. Express scripts wants to put me a different medication that is 14 mg less than I have been taking per day. They have no compassion, just keep saying try this one or contact the Doctor. I am at my witts end and ready to seek legal counsel. When they do this type thing, they put the patient's life at risk and all they can say is call the doctor and have them call this phone number and nothing is working. This is becoming a full time job and it is unbelievable. I was on the phone with Ostendorf, Debbi L. On Friday 7/14/2023 and it accomplished nothing except provide a letter for the denial.
