Denies coverage, requiring lengthy process by MD to validate prescription, and then weeks for turnaround (IF approved). And NEVER their fault. :/ Company policy must be "deny til they die."
I have had this problem on and off and the excuses were all different. If I use generic synthroid my hair falls out and I start to gain weight feeling fatigued. The first time they sent it, they told me that express scripts makes synthroid too and since they aren't the original manufacturer they had to label the pill generic on my bottle. I bought that for a minute, made a dr appt. Upon telling my dr he was stunned. He went and sent another script. Same thing happened, so I called. This person said that last story was a lie?! She said it's $99 for the med. I told her to charge me and send the right stuff. It was good for 6 mos. Then I noticed my hair was coming out big time. I look at the bottle and generic. I call this person sends me to a pharmacist. She asks me to describe the pill. I tell her it's labeled like the real thing but it's not. I ask her why the bottle was labeled generic. She told me some story about no labels. I'm thinking I never heard of any pharmacy purposely sending medication that's not labeled correctly. After I protest, and tell her the severity of my thyroid, she puts a rush on new script. Didn't need to notify dr or call. 90 more even though I wasnt due for a refill for 60 days approx. So the pharmacist is now a dr too, capable of writing my scripts. I got a new script labeled correctly and immediately felt difference. It was as if I was taking nothing before. The whole thing is just plain wrong. Something is going on in that company. Oh and on the generic prescriptions I wasn't charged 99 dollars even though it was supposedly the real thing.
Horrible company. Inept, unethical, you name it... customer service stinks, MANY errors. Our insurance finally dropped them. They should go out of business!
Prescriptions received are sent automatically to you by mail even if prescription says something wrong. You pay for it. CS is offshore and not understanding or handling the conversations. No help troubleshooting. They put you on hold and never pick up.
SPECIFICALLY informed company I would call as I need medication and can afford it. They continue to charge my card and send medications without my knowledge or consent. The Dr is not the client and does not pay my bills! Parting ways after many years of ME giving this company my money and my business. Im happy to know that they are in the business of losing paying customers.
I have been a prescriber for almost 30 years myself and probably have dealt with hundreds of pharmacies over the years with my patients as well as my own prescriptions. I have never experienced such incompetence and an overly complicated and difficulty process of ordering and receiving prescriptions. I would avoid dealing with them as peoples health will certainly be in jeopardy not being able to get their meds in a timely manner... or at all!
This is absolutely the MOST INCOMPETENT company on the planet. They were unable to fill a simple cheap prescription. They refused to fill it as written, contacted the doctor asking for a 2nd prescription which they then did not fill correctly as well. The doctor's office called again trying to straighten things out and they STILL did not fill the prescription correctly. They then demanded yet a 3rd prescription! The doctor's office had to get involved numerous times and I spent over 5 hours on the phone talking to customer service representatives, patient advocates, pharmacy assistants and pharmacists! The entire lot of them were complete imbeciles. I then called the corporate office in St. Louis and they did nothing! FIND ANOTHER PRESCRIPTION DRUG COMPANY!
Doesn't matter the medicine, the dose, the doctor prescribing or reasons for needing medicine this pharmacy does not want you to have it without jumping through hoops for at least a month I think their business model is to make people fight until they are forced to pay out pocket cause they need it!
Customer service is the worst. Used website to order, easy right? WRONG! 10 calls from me and my doctor to these morons and still could not get my medication correct, yes I am a diabetic. Never had this issue with CVS Caremark. Could not even understand 2 of the people. Had to drive 2 hours to the doctors office twice to get sample to get by until this was resolved... 4 weeks after order initiated. Wish I could give poop emoji instead of star.
I use Express Scripts because it's my only choice from my retirement. I don't think I have ever been able to go online, request a refill and receive it without making several calls to customer service, having frustrating conversations with representatives who don't have the ability to help me, and often having to get my doctor's office involved.
I called Express Scripts today, recording said I would have a 9 minute wait, I waited 33 minutes. The website said (again) that I needed a new prescription, but my bottle says I have a refill remaining. I was finally told they would refill it, and that I still have one more refill remaining! I asked why so much trouble with the website. They don't know. This all came after a 2 week debacle last month with them trying to get refills before I left on a trip. Order showed "processing" for days, but apparently never shipped, no one knew why or where it was. I did not get my medication before I left town. I specifically asked my doctor's office to write a 90 day supply of a medication so I wouldn't ruń out while traveling. I wanted to use a local pharmacy to avoid shipping problems I've had in the past with Express Scripts. I show up at the pharmacy only to be told ES wouldn't approve the 90 day supply. Another phone call to them results in them saying they would only fill for 90 days if I use their mail order service. By then, ES couldn't fill and ship it to me quickly enough to get before my trip. I don't like being forced by them to fill it mail order, nor do I appreciate not being informed of that until I called and questioned.
I do not have time to give all the details of all the times I have had to call representatives and supervisors and my doctors' offices to get my medication from Express Scripts. I will just say, if you have a choice, DON'T use them!
Express scripts is the most worst business! They are in control of hundreds of thousands people medication and it's terrible when your insurance company uses them! I have not heard one good review about them.
I am new to Express scripts. I had Optum RX, who were available 24/7. I have my doubts in a pharmacy that is closed Sat and Sun.? People can due without meds for 2 days while you close your doors for an entire weekend? Not impressed! Will check other home delivery companies... I only care about a pharmacy that cares about patients... NOT 2 days off!
Bad customer service, deliberately complicated "prior authorization" process, high out of pocket costs, predatory policies of low or no reimbursement for medications they chose not to cover.
Express-Scripts publishes a formulary and post prices. I ordered medication through a local pharmacy and, ex post facto, Express Scripts wants additional money because of their mistake. The pharmacy provider has an enormous contract with the Department of Defense. One can only imagine the graft, corruption and bribes that must be evaluated. NEVER DO BUSINESS WITH THIS COMPANY!
ES never sent out my medication. Ran Out and had to call again. Unfortunately they could not fill the order Saturday Sunday Monday was a holiday Tuesday they say they will overnight it. Maybe i'll will see it Wensday. Totally unacceptable.
I have been talking my life altering medication for going on two years. My medication is shipped monthly and contains 2 injection pens to be used every two weeks. I ordered my medication in early December 2019 and received confirmation that my next delivery would be shipped for delivery on December 27th which was cutting it close being that my next dose was due on Monday December 30 Th. The problem is on December 26th one day before my medication was scheduled to arrive I received an email notification that my medication couldn't be shipped because it was being reviewed and needed a PA. Well folks this is totally unacceptable and ridiculous being that there is now no way to get this issue resolved in time for me to receive my medication before I need to take it. Missing my scheduled dose even by a few days can and will cause me unnecessary pain and suffering and poor quality of life. I am very unhappy with both Accredo an Express Scripts for allowing these types of unnecessary errors to happen to people like me who's quality of life depends on being able to take medication when it's due. Your apologies will not help the pain and suffering that I Now must deal with until this mess is corrected and I receive my medication.
I completely loathe that this company has such a horrible hold on big pharma today. They absolutely are the worst for refrigerated medications. They charge a ton for medications I could have got for free. But every time my refrigerated medications come due it's like I play roulette with weather they've gone bad on my poach, because you really can't choose a delivery or if they won't work for the same reason or how I'm going to get them across country when I have to personally take 2 + months worth with me in my car because they only deliver in 3 month supplies. That is except for my one medication out of five that they'll only send me two weeks worth. This company is the worst organized mess I have ever had to deal with, companies should stay away from Express Scripts.
This is the worst online pharmacy ever. DO NOT USE. They lie and tell you anything to get you off the phone even the supervisors. Left me 7 days with no pain meds, never again? 0 rating
I place an order on 11-29-19. Not receiving the usual confirmations I called customer service. I was told the pharmacist calculated I was not entitled for a refill for 10 more days. That is not his decision The doctor is the one who decides when a prescription should be filled. As of 12-07-19 I still have not received my order and accordingly will not before 12-10-19. I was told by a very rotten disposition service person I would receive my order 3 to 5 working days but he lied He manipulated the delivery to their desire. I have been using this medication for approximately 20 years. Why all of a sudden they want to control?
All my prescriptions come to me looking like they have been through the war zone? They don't even look safe to consume. Unfortunately, my new insurance must have an agreement with Express-Scripts pharmacy because I am charged an enormous amount when I attempt to have Rx filled at a local pharmacy where my items are cared for and I can speak directly to a knowledgeable pharmacist. And their customer service is the worst. Definitely considering taking my items to a local pharmacy from now on.
Answer: Easy to get hold of, but a total waste of time, they will just give you their preprogrammed script and not listen to a word you say.
Answer: It's a legit company with the worlds worst service
Answer: No. And since hell would have to freeze over before I ever actually do purchase anything from Express Scripts I want to have a success story.
Answer: I pay a monthly charge which is part of my Medicare Supplement Insurance. The total premium is $439 a month but it also covers other charges Medicare does not. Then for each drug Express Scripts charges a maximum of $20 for 90 pills if generics are used. Non generics depend on the medicine; they can be much more expensive.
Answer: I had no choice, it is the only option through my employer.
