I've had cognitive dissonance with Everlane for a while. I'm finally done drinking the cool aid. I know 100% cotton shrinks. And Everlane's ordinary t shirts shrink less and wear out nice and soft. But their recycled cotton (though I love how it feels vintage) SHRINKS. I am 5'10", 140 lbs, a women's size 4 or 6, and I have been buying LARGE. That is ridiculous! I bought the men's air tee for an oversized one, XL which is their largest, and it is barely oversized. And definitely short. Like a men's crop top. If you want your everlane clothes to stay their current size, do NOT tumble dry even low, and better hope you're a petite human if you want to buy everlane to begin with. What are they thinking? The photo I attached is of a model wearing "small," but in real life it's how the L looks on a woman who is a size 4/6.
Although I do still like their seamless underwear which isn't flimsy and doesn't ride up, and is lasting well, and their leather slide sandals are so comfortable, I've worn them every day since I bought them. I'll give them that.
They don't invite me to write reviews for products I've purchased so... maybe they know it's been a mixed bag. Not very transparent if you ask me.
I have no idea what the clothes are like because they never delivered them. They simply took my money and went dark. You cannot speak to a human being. Customer customer service rates a zero.
They charg you a fee for returning clothes they mislead you to buy on the site (I. E. color is wrong, measurement wrong, bad quality). Then they will only return half the money and give you the rest in store credit with no explanation. Then you will order something else, because store credit, and it will take 3 WEEKS to arrive. EVERLANE you are an online on store for 99% of the US. Why the heck do you suck so much for online ordering? Have you ever heard of SLA? Totally horrible company. Also, why are you a California based company with a DC in Kutztown PA? Cheapskates! Avoid.
Xl t shirts are 26 inches wide and 28 inches long so if you're a chunky midget shop evergreen. Oh and the customer service is sub par.
I like this app bcoz i have purchased a product from first i go to my local retailer so thats relailer price was high so when i was checked my internet for purchase a mobile touch in the other webiste related to the other thats product price was very low nd original products.
I returned items over 6 weeks ago, and I still have not received a refund. I will NEVER EVER order from Everlane again. Really crappy customer service... Don't shop here. It's not worth the headache.
Everlane has No phone number and they take forever to respond to their email. They do not provide tracking numbers and my parcel has been " In Transit" for 4 weeks. Stay away from this company
I ordered 3 organic cotton thirst 27 days ago and they just sent me one. I sent several emails to customer support and did not get any response other than auto-reply emails. Don't ever shop online!
I've bought Everlane before (shoes and a hoodie) and were quite happy with the items. This second experience has been an absolute nightmare. Both items were too big and baggy, even though the top was advertised as a slim fit (I also tried to research via blogs and the Everlane reviews), and I returned it by post (which cost almost the same price as the top itself btw). One and a half months later, no reply from Everlane about the return... emailed them about the return with the parcel receipt attached... was asked for the tracking number when I asked them how the returns was going. Australia post doesn't have tracking numbers for the parcel... no more replies from Everlane, so goodbye to US$100. Literally lost my money into thin air, whilst trying to navigate the nightmare that is their returns policy (or lack of) for international returns. The customer service were originally great and replied so quickly, but are now just non-existent in response! 10/10 would recommend if you are a magical fairy who can predict your size and fit supremely accurately without trying on anything in real life. Otherwise, buy with extreme caution if you are an overseas shopper.
1) Their edge is that they're "cutting out the middleman". However, their luxury goods at middleman-cutting prices seem to still have a major middleman. How else would they be $15? That's Macy's prices with a small coupon. These kinds of knits cost 3$ to make, so I'm wondering if they're not making as much mark-up as the kind of department store they're demonizing.
2) Well edited product line, though small. Their new products keep seeming to push their price point.
3) Outside of their general pretentiousness, they seem to be a standard luxury brand operating with an attractive brand story (albeit a false brand story).
4) Received my backpack and belt on time and well-packaged.
5) Belt sizes are a range of 34-38, which is not really feasible and turned out to be untrue.
Online retail is going to succeed or not based on whether or not your customers have a feel for what they're about to buy before they buy it. This place goes on and on about their process, so much that you're no longer buying the product. You're buying their brand. And you're a little disappointed.
Except with the backpacks.
This is a 3 month old shoe that was wrapped in cloth and kept in a box and hardly worn because the weather was still a bit cold. Their customer service told me to have it repaired.
I ordered a pair of slacks for my daughter for her pre grad party and took a chance on the size... well when they arrived it was the size i had ordered, but they didnt fit her quite right, too tight. So I decided we had time to return and exchange them before the event, but the return process was such a pain... we had to return the entire shipping package and pay for that ourselves... that doesnt seem right. Got the correct pants in time but with the added cost of paying for the return/exhange shipping it wasn't a bargain anymore.
They were recommended on a podcast I heard so I thought I'd give them a try. Really impressed with the fit and feel of the organic cotton. Took a while to ship to the UK but worth the wait.
After hearing what a great company Everlane is, I sucked it up and ordered the Italian wool turtleneck sweater in black. When it arrived I was very excited as the wool was soft, the styling and fit wonderful, and it was overall a gorgeous item. Except for the giant hole on the right shoulder. See picture below I contacted customer service and they immediately sent a replacement. This one had holes on both shoulders. This was a design flaw rather than damage. When rows were added to expand the back, the yarn wasn't pulled tight enough. Hence the holes. Customer service looked into this and came back with the suggestion I wear a similarly colored item underneath the sweater so the holes aren't visable. I cannot wrap my head around how they think this is an appropriate solution to a $150 sweater (they have now lowered the price to $125)! I have never, ever had this issue with any sweater I've ever purchased and I simply cannot believe a company with their supposed good reputation is selling items with such serious design flaws and telling people to just wear a shirt underneath.
Of course, I can't leave a review on their site because they only "invite" customers to leave reviews after they've kept an item for 21 days. Essentially, they prevent dissatisfied customers from expressing their opinion. Wow.
I'm leaving a two star review simply because the customer service people were polite and helpful. Otherwise it would be a single star.
Never again.
The designs are lovely and classic. I ordered a beautiful sweater and when it arrived it was just as I thought it would be. The ordering process was smooth, and it arrived quickly.
BE WARNED! Not only is this brand incredibly expensive, but you can't just easily make a return. You have to email them, wait for a reply (do I need approval? What's the point here?), then they ask for your address to send you a shipping label, then you have to wait for THAT reply, THEN you can finally ship things back. What's up Everlane, are you hoping people will just give up? This is a very bad practice if you ask me because:
1) If people do give up, they'll be left with a bad customer experience of the whole thing. They'll think "It was so annoying to even try to return anything that I'm left having paid for expensive shoes I don't even wear now."
2) I'm as stubborn as they come, and if someone DOES go through the WHOLE process in order to return, they'll be left with a bad taste in their mouth as well. Why couldn't be made quick & easy? Like EVERY OTHER RETAILER OUT THERE? Log in, print label, boom! Done. No. Instead they'll remember they had to jump through hoops for a simple return.
3) They'll think TWICE about ever buying from you again. I have another purchase in mind and now I'm not placing that order.
You are creating a terrible user experience.
The customer service was painful. It's almost like they don't want to sell you anything. Overhyped junk.
I recently purchased an item that stated it was a final sale. I inadvertently chose the wrong size, or the wrong size was sent to me I honestly don't know. I contacted Everlane 24 hours after receiving the product I was upfront and told them I know the item was a final sale however the size I received is too short. The customer service rep said "IT SAYS FINAL SALE THERE ARE NO EXCHANGES" I told her I understand that and ask if they could make an acception it has only been 24 hours since I received the product, the tags are still attached the item purchase was $30 I want to exchange for a regular price pair of jeans for $88. The rep said "SELL IT ONLINE OR DONATE IT IT TO A CHARITY OUR WEBSITE CLEARLY STATES FINAL SALE. She was really rude kept repeating it was a final sale eventhough I tried to explain to her the situation. I told her she doesn't care about customers she kept arguing back and forth with me regarding their final sale policy and she she stated she cares very much about her customers and kept refering back to the final sale issue. I will never shop on this sight ever again they don't care about customers no customer service.
The business has great products and really bad products. Be careful buying the clearance sale... Japanese go weave is a crazy low Quality fabric.
I've purchased from everlane for about a year now. I own a range of things from a wool cocoon coat, trench coat, cashmere, 8 pairs of denim, Day Heels, v heels, boss boot, two silk shirts, and a couple tees (all purchased by me, except the Cocoon Coat which was gifted). I lightly promoted them as an influencer in exchange for $250 worth of product, with no pressure to leave anything but my own opinion.
I've noticed that there are quite a few negative reviews here but in general, I would take them with a grain of salt.
Everlane is a clothing retailer, and one retailer can't make every product flattering to every body type, comfortable for every foot, etc. As with any retailer, figuring out your sizing for the brand is necessary, as not all brands size the same. Example in normal shoes I'm a 9.5, but in Everlane and Italian and French brands I'm a 10.5. Once that is settled, there are far less negative reviews.
My personal experience with everlane has been great. I've returned about 1/3 of my orders over the years, like any other retailer. I use their Happy Returns' option, which is Awesome! My money shows up in my account quickly, and I've never had issues.
The quality ranges from good to great. The pieces I have kept are forever pieces, and the denim is the ONLY rigid denim that fits my body type perfectly and wears really well with constant use. Their shoes have been really lovely quality as well. T shirts, because they are thinner fabric and much cheaper tend to reflect that in quality. I have had to mend one of my t shirts as it did get a hole after about a year but for $18, I'm satisfied with that timeline.
Overall, I really love what everlane is doing for ethical fashion. I found the website user experience and the return process to be really simple, and I am overall pretty satisfied with the pieces I own.
Answer: Did you receive products you didn't order, or are you looking for more information on products to order?
Answer: Their customer service is non existent. I am having same problem as you without resolve. I've given up. I hope you are able to resolve your issue. I've purchased from Everlane before -- and they were great. BUT I had no problems... I think the issues arise when something isn't right with the order or if the merchandise doesn't fit.
