I'd been going to a hair salon my entire 'gray' life. I'd spend between $150-$200 every 6 weeks. I started using eSalon over a year ago. Not only does my hair turn out exactly as I want it but it's saved me tons of money.
I was so sick of the dye I was purchasing from a salon. I thought I would try e salon! From the dye custom formula, 2 pairs of gloves, dye color wipes and protective Vaseline like, but so much nicer formula. The instructions were so big and clear, I have vision issues. I appreciate everything they included. I was absolutely floored with the shampoo and conditioner trial sized kind. Worked like moisturizer magic! My natural hair is red,blonde. This color was so fantastic and shiny! Being an older lady, I'm almost 46, I was skeptical. I been dying my hair since going white at 42! WOW, this stuff is great! Just wanted to share the positive results! Hit it out the park! Thanks e salon!
First order, pretty good, 2nd order was absolutely horrendous! No grey coverage, color was totally off from the first. Terrible customer service once I complained. The bottle literally started to explode within 5 min, which did not happen with first order. Not a consistent product. Will never use use this company again. The quality of my hair feels terrible now I am very worried something was seriously wrong with this product that ruined my hair. I have a salon appointment soon to hopefully recover from this disastrous hair product. I'm very experienced at coloring my own hair, this is not something I'm an amateur at so no this was not user error. I have yet to hear back from esalon. DO NOT USE THEM! Just spend the extra money do to a reputable salon!
When I ran across an ad for eSalon recently, I was intrigued but not convinced that they could actually formulate a custom color that would not only match mine, but also deliver a product that was safe and easy to use. My gosh, was I ever wrong. My daughter came over and painted my roots today, and I'm thrilled with the results. The product perfectly blended with my existing strawberry blonde color, and I know from experience that red tones are tricky to work with. I don't know how the hair color wizards at eSalon do it — and at such a reasonable price! — but I'm a believer. Thank you so very much!
It was cheaper to buy when I first subscribed...like £12. Over the 2 years i've been using it and buying it, it's hiked up in price to £25;plus postage and packaging.

Its okay the colour is okay but definitely not worth this price I'd say it's slightly better than nice and easy but not much it's still full of bleach
Tried this product, was not overly impressed, poor colour and coverage. Wrote it off as error on my part. Find they have kept my PayPal information and billed it more than twice the original amount for this inferior product. I looked at my PayPal account and find that, without my knowledge or authorization they made it an ongoing purchase which I have now canceled. BEWARE
I am impressed with the color selection by eSalon.
I improvise to get a mix of three colors for my hair using the root color then two colors of tint rinse. The gold tint sparkles like crazy!

I have used this product for 9 years approximately 20x a year. I know how to dye my hair. I dyed my hair in July the same way I always do. Second bottle of dye seemed warm/hot when I mixed it for the "ends" and exploded all over my bathroom. Hit the wall 9' feet away, stained the wall, my clawfoot tub and my oak flooring. Thank God I had left the room for a minute or it would have probably blown up in my face and blinded me. I contacted eSalon as I researched and saw this is a reoccurring problem with their product. They said all they could do is refund the cost of the kit. No help with repairs. Very cold, computer responses. They know this is happening and are not doing anything to protect their customers.
I have been coloring my hair for years. I have been using Madison Reed but wanted to try something different. The roots of my medium brown hair is now a mix of gray, red and pink….I left on for 40mins and it barely colored. Awful!
I used it twice and will not be using it any longer. It costs about three times as much as the store-bought color I used to use. Not much different in color quality and made my hair much much drier. I canceled my subscription and will be going back to my previous product.
I wanted an all over color, they e-mailed me and suggested blonde highlights. Mind you. They added only to highlight the grow out. My hair is literally orange and in patches of colors. Sent them an honest review and no response. Going to the salon on Sunday to get it fixed. They should refund me and have t heard a peep from the company. Good news, I get to walk around for a week looking like this! Nice Save your money, I think I paid $50-60 for the kit and with $150 to get it corrected I'm looking at $ 200 and more hair damage.
BEWARE! After ordering my first kit from eSalon about a month later I saw another charge on my credit card from this company. I had no idea that I signed up for an auto ship monthly plan.
Apparently from what I read from others when you do your first order they ask you a few questions and one is how often do you color your hair, by answering this question you're put on their auto ship monthly program without knowing it, so sneaky! Trying to remove my charge card and cancel but it will not let me remove my charge card info from their website, worried the charges will continue... So watch out from ordering anything from eSalon!
Then they changed their formula and it doesnt work as well. Then the customer service went downhill. Now you wait 2 months with no response from your colorist after they sent you a formula that was not what you asked for. The last 30 color was worse then any drugstore brand I have ever used and I cant get it changed back because i skipped the order. Nevermind that I skipped the order because I didnt want the same thing again. Save your money and go elsewhere.
I've been a customer of Esalon since 2015, and all I can say are wonderful things about this company! I've been able to change up my colour whenever I want, and I'm always able to talk to a professional colourist if I'm in doubt on anything. I've not once had a problem with esalon. Sure, there have been times when my color didn't turn out as well as I'd have liked, but I always chalk that up to trial and error on my part (but then I'm the type of woman who is fine with experimenting with my hair). Still, Esalon colourists are always there to help me out, every step up of the way, until we reach the perfect colour.
I have ordered from esalon several times hoping to find the perfect color. I took the quizzes for the best match, and I never was fully satisfied with my results. It's not that the color was bad, it just wasn't a good match and was only "ok". It also is WAY too expensive ($33.90/ month) for home hair color that was just "ok". Maybe if my results were fabulous, I wouldn't mind. I shopped around and found a Revlon Colorsilk color I absolutely LOVE for only $4/box. It has been a great fit for me and I will never use the expensive esalon color again.

If you live within the EU, you will have to pay customs import duties on this product. I learned the hard way - I just had to pay 40 Euros tax to the postman on a 52 Euro order. It seems eSalon is happy to take a chance and try to get their orders shipped without being flagged by customs. As of July 1, all purchases coming from outside of the EU will be charged an additional customs import duty. ESalon's website has no information about additional taxes. They only offered a voucher for my next order, no reimbursement, and no promise that it won't happen again.
Ordered esalon hair color 2 weeks ago, added the extra 5$ to get my color faster as I am going on vacation this weekend. Tracking on package says it finally made it to some post office 6 states away. And estimated date of arrival in my mail is Saturday... Ill be gone by then... I ordered my color from Ulta and its Madison Reed... got it today and I ordered it on Saturday... $#*! you salon and your pissy smelling hair color, Madison Reed has no smell and my color is gorgeous... They won't allow you to post zero stars or best believe I would have. Total rip off and all of these people rating it 5 stars are probably getting the garbage for free to give those good ratings
This is my second time using esalon and I gotta say, I like it more than the store boxed hair color. My only dislike about the permanent hair color is that it really sticks to your skin if you are not careful. It's not a big deal after you have done it the second time around. I will order more, but not sign up for auto-ship.
I ordered demi permanent and am happy with the color and it has lasted longer than I expected! Usually red shades don't last long on my hair but this one did. Very good customer service. Easy to use, I have long fairly thick hair and one bottle was plenty for my hair. Not sure what others are doing to not get good results?!?! My one complaint is my hair feels drier than usual, but it is winter and a draught so that might be part of it. Would use again!
