Enterprise Rent-A-Car Reviews Summary

The company enjoys a strong reputation for exceptional customer service, with numerous reviews praising the professionalism, friendliness, and efficiency of the staff across various locations. Customers consistently highlight the smooth rental process and the quality of the vehicles. However, some concerns arise regarding staff training on company policies, leading to occasional issues like unauthorized charges and vehicle maintenance oversights. Overall, while the majority of feedback reflects high satisfaction and a willingness to recommend the service, addressing training and communication gaps could further enhance the customer experience.

We have a claim with Allstate Insurance and were told to rent a vehicle from Enterprise Rent A Car. After 2 weeks of driving the rental, my daughter experienced issues with the vehicle on a Saturday morning and did not think to contact the local office until 12:30PM. The vehicle would start and then the steering wheel would lock. She had to repeatedly start and restart the vehicle - definitely unsafe to drive. Unfortunately, it appears that many of their offices close at Noon on Saturdays. She contacted the Emergency Assistance number and was told by the representative (she added me to the call) that her options were to wait until Monday for a replacement or take an Uber from Huntsville, TX to Bryan, TX (60 miles away) to get a replacement vehicle. Just to be clear, the solution was to make, at minimum, a 2 and a half hour round trip to retrieve a replacement vehicle - not counting the time at the rental car office in Bryan. So, about 3 hours total at minimum. We asked the representative for another customer service number to reach a local Enterprise representative who could assist us. He gave us another number that ended up circling us back to Emergency Assistance. We attempted to reach Enterprise via social media over the weekend with no response. We decided to leave the vehicle at her apartment and she went without a vehicle over the weekend. She had to ask friends for assistance and will need to also get a ride to the college campus Monday morning as the local office does not open until 8AM. Once they open we can then contact them for a replacement vehicle. The company basically offers minimal assistance in the case of an emergency - not to mention hold times of about 10 minutes. How are these acceptable business practices?
We will never rent from Enterprise again.

Extremely Bad Service & Treatment
I was working through USAA for a rental car while my vehicle was being repaired. The (very) young male that was setting up the appointment was sounding 'frustrated and put-out' that he was having to take some extra steps in setting things up. When he asked for a copy of my DL, I presented a printed, certified, Temporary Dl provided by the State while the actual 'Hard-card' was being mailed to me (due to Covid backlog). He stated he would not accept that. I pointed out that right on the form it states that it is a Legal and Valid Drivers License and ID. He would not accept the form and stated "I dont have to do anything". I explained that was all I had and asked to speak with a manager or Supervisor. He said to call back when I get a DL, and ended the call.
Now fast forward 3 months and I have been 'Blacklisted' by Enterprise because this kid put in my 'file' that I had "cursed him out and called him names". That absolutely did not happen. Not even close. This is pure vindictiveness and abuse of his limited authority to administer retribution for some Perceived annoyance.

After a failed reservation at another agency. I walked into enterprise in Atlanta Ga. An incredibly helpful agent by the name of Noah helped me with a rental. He was exceptionally efficient and helpful. I can't thank him and enterprise enough. Great job Noah. Thanks so much. CC

Don't rent their car, they are a scam. They won't tell you what about the tolls. They will charge it automatically and won't refund, also pushing you to call and never answer your question. No help and worst customer service

They gave My husband a Nissan Sentra so he won't be taking big executives from TX, FL, Georgia & TN ( all RED) around in AZ! REALLY RICH $#*! MEN IN A NISSAN SENTRA? Paula told my husband last month(problem's) this would never happen again! She The manager( they denied me his name) on an Audi ( Had to go with what was in stock) he said he'd have to pay the difference so that was a NO! I was presented with an Enterprise rental car from the insurance company of the driver who struck my parked car. In this process, I was happy with Enterprise as I was presented with a clean car that worked quite well. Even when my first car had a flat tire, they replaced it promptly. Unfortunately, what they did not do was to clearly explain the process of driver protection (a $24.99 charge). As it turned out, due to pandemic charged supply-chain issues with car parts, I had to drive the rentals for a month. What I thought was a one-time only charge for $24.99 was a DAILY charge. Imagine my surprise when I received a bill that the insurance company DID NOT pick up. All the representative would say was that they called to update me that they were adjusting my deposit to the protection plan. What does that mean? When I talked to the rep. They assured me that I could keep the car longer due to the length of the car repair. What I got stuck with was a $1000 credit card bill and other than a $200 "courtesy", I was told nothing more could be done. Honestly, I feel like I was taken for a ride. The reps only did the minimum in alerting me. What it looks like is that Enterprise is taking advantage of drivers whose cars are in repair longer than normal due to the pandemic, supply-chain issues in receiving parts. Therefore, I'm left feeling that Enterprise ripped me off as part of a racket. I already have a hardship with a car stuck in repair and then they went ahead to charge a exorbitant, unnecessary fee. Very unfortunate, a real downer.

Contemptible weasels.
February 6, 2022

Contemptible weasels. I rented a car through the Oneonta, NY, location. Chris, the branch manager, was wonderful and did his best to get us a car (a 2020 Toyota Camry) during these difficult rental times. The problem started after I returned the car in Princeton, NJ, the following week. Three days later, I got a phone call from an Enterprise claims investigator claiming there was damage to the driver's side rocker panel. The investigator failed to do her due diligence, claiming I was at fault and ignoring all information to the contrary. Chris, the Onenonta branch manager, even called the claims department to provide evidence the damage was pre-existing. Regardless, I received a bill for $925.06. This time, Chris contacted the Damage Recovery Unit to resolve the situation, making it clear their claim was baseless. After two stressful weeks, I received a letter stating they "made the decision to take care of the damages and costs of this claim" and closed the claim. Their description is clearly corporate speak for "We unfairly accused you, but we will never admit it". No acknowlegement, no apologies. Hey, Enterprise: Next time get your facts straight before you fire off unfounded accusations. You can kiss my rear bumper.

Worst experience ever. Returned vehicle and had inspection. Man goes straight to a spot on the front of the car and said damage there. We were not responsible for the damage and how did he know to go straight to the spot and push. Was given many different stories and "I'll get right back with you" from Harrison at the Farragut branch and many different contradicting stories. Asked for manager name and number, Harrison stated he doesn't give it out. What company does that? He told me if there was no "inner damage" which you can tell from our pics there isn't there would be no charge. That has been over a month with no resolution but they have our $500.00. Before we rented they called me the day before saying they couldn't honor my discount. I stated you can't call me the day before because you don't like my deal. I think they did this to make up for it. When speaking to complaint department FROM their company she said it happens a lot, a vehicle has damage and they never get it fixed but charge over and over for it. Extremely disappointed is an understatement.

The Enterprise customer service (a car Rental) at (891 E El Camino Real, Sunnyvale) is really terrible!

First: they rented me a dirty, strong smelly car. I called them the next day and asked for a replacement, and the rep replied that I would call you if I had one, but they never called me again. Can't they found a car within 3 weeks?

Second, the representative completely ignored my request, and let alone abide by their promise. Regarding the payment method, I made it very clear to the staff or the representative at Enterprise from beginning that I would pay by credit card instead of debiting my bank account. At least three of their staff promised me that it was totally fine, no problem at all. To make sure they didn't make a mistake, I went to their store 3-4 times. Until the day of settlement/closing the account and the next day, they were still saying it was no problem when I confirmed with them again.

But when I found out that they had deducted the money from my bank account, and I went to the store to ask the manager, then she just said "sorry, I can't return your money back because your Account has been closed". I don't know why she didn't tell me earlier or before closing my account? This makes me very angry!
I'm pissed that they debited my bank account in such a deceptive way. Even though I went to their store several times to confirm in person, they still didn't tell me the truth (they had debited from my bank account). Enterprise representatives are expected to deliver on their promises to customers, not break their promises.

They don't have any explanation to me. I still don't understand why they do this. It's may be the staff don't know how to treat customers? Deliberately disregarding or disrespecting the basic requests of customers? Don't know basic payment operations? If they used to get a lot of good reviews, they were discriminating against me. They wasted my time and energy. I need a refund. They must be held accountable for their mistakes, not just say Sorry.

Worst experience ever
December 21, 2021

1. Hidden Charges - the bank recorded an international transaction fee.
2. The opening and closing hours on the website are wrong. I was asked to pick up the vehicle early because they close earlier than stated on the website.
3. The desk at the airport was unattended. The phone call wasn't answered, left stranded at the airport.
4. The company charged $150 for cancellation, even though they didn't show up.

Enterprise rental
December 7, 2021

I wanted to give kudos to the enterprise rental team and branch manager (Blake) on Vine street in Harrisonburg, VA. This team really came through for my sister and I. We were headed to a wedding in IN and they made sure we had the appropriate vehicle as we were taking all the hand made flowers and additional baking equipment for making the cake and cupcakes. Thank you Blake and team. We appreciate your hard work and will continue to rent from Enterprise.
