“Selling on ebid”

Richard F.
7/29/22

On ebid for 1 week as a seller. 13 listings. About 18 views on each listing, no sales. This site has great potential for sellers and buyers due to the very low cost compared to the gouging we take on others. I offer much better prices on Ebid due to lower cost. Test Google Search results And my products showed up first page. All sellers should give this a try just don't start on Ebid due to low traffic for now. They are a little difficult to navigate and need to improve this.

“They close life time subscriptions for no reason, its a scam site”

Simon c.
3/16/24

They close lifetime subscriptions for no reason, it's a scam site. They charged me £49 for a lifetime subscription then they suspended it and asked for my driving licence, and proof of address, so I sent them the front and back of my driving licence and a bank statement that was just over 1 month old. Then they kept on asking me for different paperwork until they asked for one I couldn't produce because I'm not the homeowner. ONE BIG SCAM keep clear eBay has 100 times more traffic even in 2024

Recently returned to Ebid after several years.
Needed to change username to start afresh. Customer Service promptly dealt with my request offering a more personal service rather than the automated response from other well known rivals.
Listing is very easy and fees very reasonable compared to other online auction sites.
So far so good.

Ten years of being a Seller+ member, I find that eBid is the top auction site to join. The selling fees are much better than other auction sites and in most cases, free listing. You can also have your own store.

Yes, I have sold on both sites and will take eBID over "the bay" any day. EBid's selling fees are much lower than the bays' AND they don't take their % out of your sales price, S&H and taxes. What do you get for the low fees? Basically, the ability to run your own business without constant oversight, regulations, etc., as you see fit. Yes, they do have guidelines and prohibited item lists. There are NO "performance" goals to meet to "stay in the game" - way less stressful that way. Prompt customer service from a "live body" that supports the seller - not always ruling in favor of the buyer, no matter what.

What you don't get with the lower fees, is paid for national/worldwide advertising through the media. So? Back in the day, no sales company that you worked for, as an independent consultant or agent, promoted you. Sales people generated their own leads and promoted themselves. If you are too lazy to do that, then keep paying the high fees and stop complaining when the bay piles more regulations and requirements on you.

I get most of my sales through Google Shopping, and eBid gives you the guidelines on how to get picked up on GS. How much time do you spend on social media sites? Would it hurt or take up too much time to let your friends know where your items are listed for sale? Contacting friends used to be the number one way that word got around about what and where you were selling.

Some of the negative reviews I read about eBid are obviously from folks who want maximum money in their pocket for minimum effort. It is really sad that people have become lazy and forgotten how to really work at something that gives the feeling of pride that comes with being an independent, hard-working individual.

EBid will work well for you IF you are motivated to "run your OWN business". EBid gives you all the tools you need to do that. Their Help Section answers every question you might have and gives lots of good advice on how to create good listings that will get picked up by search engines. If you can't get an answer from "Help", there are interactive forums where you can ask the members. If a member does not know, you can e-mail support and will get an answer in less than 24 yours - often sooner - from a live body, not a robo answer.

One of the other complaints that I see is "eBid is hard to navigate". Well, when you have been stuck in the same routine for years, everything new that you try to do is a bit difficult until you get the hang of it.

I'll get off my soap box and get back to listing - I've got sales coming in like crazy these days and need to keep my store well stocked.

Best of luck to those of you that take a "leap of faith" in yourselves, your personal ability to be successful, and are willing to "look outside the box" for new opportunities.

One other thing - I took a leap of faith in myself and paid the Lifetime Fee. It has more than paid itself off in the long run. I probably would have paid that much to the bay several times over now, with their higher fees for every penny they collect from S&H and taxes.

I joined Ebid 10 years ago and have found the site easy to use with low fees, no chopping and changing the rules, and the service from the support staff is second to none. Friendly, efficient, helpful people who will always try to go the extra mile!

I have bought 100's of sports cards from several different sellers on eBid without a single problem. I have sold a few items on the site too. The 2% selling fees are the lowest around. Takes a little work to drive traffic to my listings. https://www.ebid.net/us/users/BalticAveStore/listings/

Look out eBay here comes eBid. I have no complaints with eBid; I hope this site becomes more popular. There is more balance of seller and buyer protection as opposed to all buyer protection. Much lower selling fees.

I have had 80 listings at 1 time for over 3 years. Not1 sale. Same items on ebay etsy. Sold I was threatened many times to login or they will remove, in the end sad to say i had to say goodbye. Shame it all looked good but by now they should be pushing the big boys but seems they have got worse.

ebid.net is way superior to ebay as a seller I was getting ripped off on ebay through fees almost 10% of items worth went to ebay on Final value fee, plus a shipping fee, plus paypal fee and variable listing fee. What I've seen so far it's max. 3% free to list and unlimited listings which is a big plus as well. I've been spreading the word about ebid.net I am so happy with this site over ebays corporate greed sickening.

I like Ebid, been a member for over a year. Have thousands of items listed and have sold items on this site. I accept payment in the form of Pay Pal, Money Order, and Checks. Support is great and they answer your concern as fast as they can with great results. I am a satisfied seller on Ebid.net and not sorry I tried it.

Lets look at the facts:
OK you get more traffic at eBay and you may sell more at eBay but you also make eBay even richer.
My reason for returning to eBid was when I was told that eBay was cutting ties completely with PayPal and all your earnings will be paid directly into your bank account 2-3 days after payment. The majority of the items I sell have a purchase price of £1.99. Imagine my bank statement. And even worse if some customer is nor happy eBay will take it automatically out of your account and you may not be able to pay your rent because of it.
But back to eBid. I wanted to change my username and eBid was very helpful. The forum community is kind and helpful.
But don't expect sales without doing the legwork. You have to promote your store yourself and that's how you get sales. Talking of traffic. I only just moved back less than a month ago and I do have views as high as eBay. (See highlighted in one picture)

Tip for consumers:
Give it a try the guys selling there are just as good as on eBay

I bought 2 items totalling £93.85 from a seller on the eBid Internet auction site. The items were excellent and arrived next day by Recorded Delivery. I am very pleased with the excellent service I had from this seller. Also the site is easy to use, you can pay with an existing PayPal account as well as other means and the site has a wide range of items available for sale. Buying here is a pleasure.

I am also a seller on eBid and find that my items sell well. The cheap fee structure is very attractive.

I am a new seller on both Ebay and Ebid.

I started off with Ebay about a week ago, and found it to be far far too expensive to sell on! And with so many scammers (both buying and selling), and with people creating shilling accounts to bid on their own items, I decided to look for other options.
After searching extensively I came across a hub page recommending Ebid and read through all the comments highly recommending them.
I signed up, and now I will never sell on Ebay again!

The website is user friendly, the prices are very fair on the seller, and the security is top notch. The strict rules around selling and buying, and all the checks they do, very effectively weeds out all the dodgy buyers and sellers.
And because you are limited to only one account, this instantly stops shillers in their tracks.
The atmosphere is also very friendly and helpful. In general, the people selling and buying are nicer to each other. It's a wonderful and drastic difference to Ebay!

When I came on here, I was surprised to see them with anything less than a 5 star rating... and then I read through all the reviews.
Many of the reviews here, on closer inspection, seem to from people who are either too stupid to read the rules before they sign up, selling goods that are not allowed to be sold on Ebid (for good reason), or are just straight up taking bad with it being so much more secure than Ebay is.
The only people who could have a problem with Ebid, are people who are too used to getting their scam on at Ebay, regular shillers, or people who are too institutionalised with Ebay to adapt to something different.

But for us honest sellers and buyers out there, I highly recommend Ebid, and will be spreading the word to my friends and family:)
No review extortion from bad buyers, no more scamming, no more low rate sellers.
Long may it continue!

I don't understand all of the negative comments for eBid.net. These users must be doing something against their rules to be having so many problems. I've been a user since 2009 & have had very few problems & almost all of them were related to delinquent buyers; but, I've also had numerous great buyers. Any problems I've had site related were immediately (always within 24 hours, most times sooner) addressed & corrected by Admin (so unlike eBay...& don't even think about iOffer!). Everything I've ever purchased on eBid, I've received exactly as described and within times stated. The only real problem with them is few buyers because they don't advertise in the US & most people just don't know about them while everyone knows of eBay.

EBay certainly has it's share of unscrupulous sellers who sell falsely described, flat out fakes (gotten caught in that one three times so far in my 12 years on it) & you'll wait forever for a response from them. They will also favor their BIG sellers over buyers who have a legitimate honest problem.

EXAMPLE: I purchased a Men's Woolrich Flannel Shirt, New with Tags, stated 2X. What arrived was this shirt in 2X TALL, STATED ON THE CLEARLY VISIBLE TAGS ON THE FRONT OF THE SHIRT, BUT NOT DISPLAYED IN PIX OR DESCRIPTION.
Other sellers had these listed also, but stated when it was a TALL (and this does make a difference). When I left accurate & honest feedback, the SELLER HAD IT REMOVED! The truth is the truth, just that simple - the site shouldn't back a seller just because they are a money maker for them. I had all the proof eBay needed, but the big seller won.

My final plea advised I would close my account if not supported by their buyer protection plan, which apparently fell on deaf ears... & "Square Trade" never even responded. I closed my account.

OK, that sad story being told, all of the selling sites can have problems & probably none are perfect, but you have to use some common sense when signing up, buying on line and selling on line. Yes, you'll get more action on eBay, but you'll also loose at least 10% of your profit. My experiences with have honest & modestly effective... They just need to advertise & acquire more buyers. They ARE NOT a ripoff outfit!

I'm a seller on ebid and have been there for about 2 1/2 years. I sell collectibles and their fees are extremely fair. Support answers your inquiry within 24-48 hours and the response is not canned like at the bay. You actually get a live individual to respond. Listing an item is easy with their 'default listing' option. Sales are increasing and as more sellers find us the variety of items is growing. I'm happy I found this site to sell my collectibles on.

Ive been selling on and off on ebid for over 4 years now. Casually to start and now a little more seriously. I paid an upfront fee of about fifty bucks I think. I pay nothing to list and about 2% when an items sells. My things are sent to Google shopping for free which helps sales. Not sure why the site gets slammed when someone buys off a bad seller. Check feedback guys before making a purchase.

I have been using this site for 2 years, and I have nothing but praise for the way it is run, the support staff are quick and friendly. The whole way the site is run and the members I have had contact with have been some of the most positive experience of all the selling sites.

By far much less hassle than others.

I have made quite a few sales traffic is good, although recently since google change the way it displays search results, all ebid listings get clumped in with all feebays listings and get lost and traffic has dropped a lot.

Ebid needs to focus on getting more traffic to the site.

As for all these people who are pleating on about Paypal payments, the buyer never loses with Paypal and ALL ways gets there money back.

Just like life there are bad apples every where.

I have never had any issues

Hey people. If you have a problem with a store in a mall, do you go to the mall management and expect the mall to do something about it? Why do you expect a "Web Mall" to do something about your problem with one of the stores in it?
Get real!

Absolutely the best support staff of any online auction site. You normally get a personal response within a short time to any inquiry, not just a form letter. A huge variety of items listed by reputable sellers at fair prices. Extremely low fees for sellers, which often translates into lower prices for buyers. Quite easy site to navigate, and chat forums afe filled with knowledgable, helpful and friendly people. Gotta love this place!
