First of all Ebay does not even deserve a one star rating but that is the lowest option to choose from. My experience with Ebay has been a nightmare to say the least. My account has been suspended/blocked. I have been trying for two days to get answers as to why. I have done the chat and was told I needed to follow the link provided and request a call back. The link did not work, there was no option to have someone call me back. I emailed them only to get an email back stating my account can not be unsuspended because I was found to have unfavorable selling which is a risk to the community. I have NEVER sold anything on Ebay. I have only purchased one time in the past. I emailed their customer service again stating I have never sold anything and am fearful my account has been hacked and requested assistance. They again responded with a reply that it is in the best interest they part ways with me. They claim safety for the community is their main concern. What a joke, if this were true they would want to help me figure out what happened and by who. They also went on to say that if I try to open any future accounts they will be blocked immediately. I demanded that they delete my account. Their response was they can not close suspended or blocked accounts. Terrible company! Their practices and customer service are the bottom of the barrel. I see several negative comments on here, I can only hope their crappy ways will lead to their business folding!
1) Ebay refuses to incorporate a system for paying out sellers immediately, even though Ebay takes its fees immediately. After removing Paypal as a default go-between for payouts of sales, Ebay does not permit an immediate payout, as Paypal did for a small fee. Instead, Ebay takes out their final value fees immediately, takes out state taxes immediately, then holds the payout to the seller for several days. And until late November 2021 Ebay did not even make payouts on Saturday or Sunday, which only extended the time to receive a payout. They made these changes and prolonged such payouts during a worldwide pandemic, when many people lost jobs or were unable to work and desperately needed money.
2) Ebay withholds payouts to sellers if its internal monitoring system even suspects that a bank account or card on file may be declined in the future for selling costs. Ebay does this even if there has never been a declined payment for selling costs and even if a red flag is clearly demonstrated to be false. For example, a seller attempts a purchase on Ebay, like any other buyer on Ebay, and that seller's bank initially declines the charge (which can happen for many reasons, like the amount is suspiciously large or from an international seller) but then immediately accepts the charge after the person confirms with their bank that it was intended. All good, the bank is just being cautious. But Ebay will see that initial "decline" as proof--even when shown after the fact that the bank was just being initially cautious--that that same account/card on file with Ebay, which has been processing occasional Ebay sellings costs just fine with never an issue, *might one day decline such a charge. At that point Ebay forbids use of that bank account/card and witholds payouts from recent sales until a new payment method is added. That account may be the only person's bank account and only debit card. Ebay would rather force that person to go through the serious inconvenience of opening a new checking account or applying for a new debit card, rather than recognizing the mistake of falsely flagging that transaction in question.
My account got permanently suspended. I don't know why. I bought two items and placed bids on two or three more. I got a buying restriction to only pay now items. I bought a pay now item. I won two bids from before the restriction. I was prevented from paying for the bids. I finally was allowed to pay for the bids. Then my account was suspended as soon as I paid for the bids. That's all that ever happened on my account and eBay refuses to let me know why my account was suspended.
EBay's return policies favor the buyer and put sellers at a significant disadvantage. I sold a high end espresso machine on eBay, $2,500 when new, and shipped it half way across the country to the buyer in Washington state. During shipping time, the buyer found a different machine that they wanted instead (actually said this in their message to me), falsely claimed it was damaged when they received it, and eBay return policies made me accept a return and refund their money anyway. It's not even remotely fair to ask a seller to take the time and expense to ship an expensive item to a buyer who can make any claim they want, and even say they found a different item in a message to me, and still require the seller to accept a return and refund. What's worse, I could find no way to even discuss this with a human being at eBay.
This isn't Amazon or Walmart selling a book to an online customer and accepting a return. I'm an individual selling an expensive, fairly represented item to a person who changed their mind when they found what they thought was a better deal. EBay should not subject their sellers to such unfair practices, it has put me in a horrible position.
I received a lot of offers from scammers with this website. I am not sure how they're able to get in this website and get past security. I posted an item to sell. I got 2 offers right away. I accepted 1 offer. The buyer sent me a message through ebay messging that he paid already and he wants me to ship the item within the day. I received a notification in my email that the buyer paid but nothing went through my account when I checked. Minutes later I received a notification from ebay that the buyer have paid and is waiting for my item to be shipped. I was rushing to find fedex to ship the item because I want to keep up with customer service. About an hour later ebay sent me an email that they cancelled the offer because my buyer was a scammer. I felt grateful that I did not ship my item yet. I was literally in front of fedex office to ship the item.
I listed my item again to sell and then I got another offer. I accepted the offer and I became more cautious by waiting for payment to get to my bank before shipping. Moments later, I received an email from ebay customer service saying that they restricted me from selling their website because I am a risk to their website. How on earth did this happen? Their website has a lot of scammers who almost got me but they ended of accusing me as the scammer so they flagged me? I do not understand.
I have used eBay for many purchases over the years. I've sold some things here and there but mostly I'm a buyer. The thing you have to be careful with on eBay is making sure you're buying from a US seller. The scammers have caught on to this though and will say the item ships from the US, which it does, from a warehouse. But if you have to return the item they won't allow you to return to THAT address, they want you to send it back to China. So an item that I paid 28.00 for would cost me 104.00 to return to China. So then they say if that's too expensive to return it then they will give you a 20% refund and ask you to keep the item. It's ridiculous. What a ripoff. And then they have the nerve to tell you not to leave negative feedback! What a joke. I'm about done dealing with eBay.
Tried returning a not authentic pair of shoes. Seller wouldn't refund. Nor would ebays gaurantee. Think about that for a minute then till the dice on a purchase. I'll never use eBay again. What out y'all.
I am disappointed in Ebay for allowing sellers to sell past expiration date food items. Even if it's posted, this should not be allowed. Someone could end up getting sick. I would think Ebay would want to protect the public!
Never using eBay again. So, I opened an account on ebay to list some of my used Apple AirPods Pro, and almost instantly the account was suspended Permanently and listing taken off. Upon contacting the useless, incompetent and outsourced agent "Monika" I was notified "a pattern of activities has led to the suspension". When I asked what were the activities because I only listed 1 item which I own and is genuine, this is a brand new account. I was notified "we cannot share that reason because it would give chance to circumvent our safety and security systems". Lmao so who can sell on eBay? I never received a reply, so is it "the lucky" ones? For a place set up to be used as a resale platform of used products, their practices, in my experience, were very poor and quite frankly discriminatory. Never using eBay again and you shouldn't either.
Selling through EBay is worthless buyers try to scammed me multiple times none of my items got sold and then I got my account suspended because supposedly I was the one doing scamming when I called someone on customer service yesterday to report it And I got my account suspended for nothing
I have used EBay for quite a long time I have never witnessed a decline of service integrity and value this service is the worst
I've been selling on Ebay for over 20 years, every year it get worse and now I might never use them again just because they are doing so much selfish sh*t. They quit using PayPal, keep increasing there fees and now when you sell an item and get paid from the buyer, Ebay can hold that money up to 2 weeks until they verify it was received by the buyer! So now they can hold all that extra money for up 2 weeks and do they pay you interest, Hell no! They're trying every little thing to make more money off everyone. I guess I will now use other selling sights since they got so greedy.
EBay use to have amazing phone and online support! Now it's near impossible to contact anyone with any questions as you have to go though there little automated system which is complete nonsense!
Also I've been getting a ton of scam buyers, people in other countries stating they're here in the US for a short time and wanted to purchase my item before leaving. Another guy with 2 stars no purchases in over 2 years and his house is blurred out in google maps!
After I sell my last couple of items on eBay and hoping not to get scammed, I'm never using eBay again!
I was told my case is closed and will not be given any refund. The item never arrived at
My home even thought they said it had and someone was at the door to receive it. The
Seller only responded a handful of times and eBay claim to have looked into it prior to that after I ask them too. I had too ask them to step again days later because it's saying I never ask for their help. Same night I receive a email your case is closed because you received your package.
Ebay has awful customer service. They copy Amazon with option for a quick call back or a chat. The only difference is Amazon customer service is polite, professional and always make things right for whatever issue you call about, whereas Ebay customer service is rude and rarely fix your issues. I requested to close my account today with Ebay because I linked my bank account to them and I created a post to sell a remote car starter. I got an Ebay email saying my post was live but after review and searching it really wasn't. I called Ebay customer service and they could see the sale post but could not find it even with the item # they even tried to with their personal account and could not find it. They had no resolution or fix. All I know is they are linked to my personal bank account but can't even get this fixed. Very scary business there. Don't mess with Ebay, trust me and my family on this one. Stick with Amazon if you can. Thanks, sincerely, The Flaten family :)
I purchased a Christmas gift for my son and I purchased the wrong size by mistake needed to return it and the seller would not take it back they would not even give me half for the return. I called eBay and they are no help at all. The seller is a scam it called Amazing Retail they suck and are scammers.
They did'nt care for the negative review. Nor my networking. They fixed part of the problems. Thank you.
Hello,
I purchased products from ebay for sometime, but their customer service declined over years. You must be super carful of the the product they sell. But last purchase was the worse experience for me when I was fully charged to received an empty box. I did not get anywhere with the product seller or ebay customer service. The seller and EBAY customer service indicated that I received the package empty or not not it is not their problem. They have the free shipping to lure customers in..
I can understand holding funds tell a transaction is complete but 3 weeks. If the buyer gives a positive review funds should be released. I have been with you all for 20 years.
Long time buyer/ seller. NO more. Bought something. Sent it back way with confirmation. Buyer said didn't receive, post office said they did receive. Spent hour on phone. Lady ( eBay) said she did see it was back on time, then told to wait a few days all looked good. Then told I lost. Crooked seller ( lerekam) Got his merchandise and $$. Trying to get a fraud case with the post off. 3rd time eBay has let a seller rip me off, Never again eBay!
Answer: I would never buy a used car without seeing it in person and having it checked out.
Answer: Ebay is a den of thieves. Even Ebay is evasive on complaints to answers. When looking for items, be sure to be fully informed to what you are shopping and use all that knowledge to cypher the listing, even then have found those that list items to be evasive on answers. Avoid ebay if possible!
Answer: For their own purposes and to protect dishonest sellers. I was once an avid EBay shopper, but now avoid EBay. Buyer protection no longer exists. You buy at your own risk.
Answer: Ebay sells nothing. You are dealing with private sellers. Some are good, some are not. The best way to determine this is to check the feedback. I personally never buy from anyone who has a feedback lower than 90%. 96% is considered bad, by Ebay. Take that with a grain of salt. Ebay management is nuts.
Answer: If you haven't already learned the hard way that Ebay is just pure bullshit when it comes to the sellers rights. When someone wants to send it back for any reason other than it doesn't work as described, you will be footing the bill. Not only will you lose the money you paid to ship it to them, Ebay will offer to provide a return label for them at your expense. Yep, that's right. They will bill you the price of the label if you don't provide it. Either way, you are paying for it to get back to you. It's get better. You can't leave negative feedback for the buyer either. It's not an option NO MATTER
Answer: Not to me! It's my main shopping tool! I look for good deals and free shipping!
Answer: Yes. You are right. All what people told you are correct. Don't trust ebay and the seller on ebay. Amazon much better than them. But anyway the best way to buy electronics from the local stores or official stores.
Answer: This depends on the seller of the item - carefully check their feedback and trust you intuition if you have doubts try another seller you feel safer with...
Answer: Hi Tom, As for reviews, you don't get them. It's called feedback. When you buy an item, the seller will probably leave feedback after you leave feedback for them. I hope that answers your question. Nancy
Answer: Depends on the seller. I wouldn't buy anything off ebay because there a crappy company.
