They have stopped using PayPal and now want your actual bank account number. NO to that. Millions of people and sites get hacked every year.
And, just spent half an hour trying to list one blouse, I got an acknowledgement that the listing was finally up, but it wasn't. Much of the form you have to fill out is unclear as h*ll and the site keeps sending you back to fill out something that's incoherent, so unless you've gone through all this before and found your way around, don't bother.
Ebay has went down hill. Selling is awful. Hard to navigate you have to request everything you need and wait forever on it. Just terrible!
The eBay money back guarantee is junk.
What it's supposed to do and how I used it:
It's supposed to instill a level of trust so that you can quickly make a purchase for something that you would otherwise spend more time thinking about or may not purchase at all. You think, there's some slight risk, but eBay has my back.
What actually happens:
I bought a pair of New Air Jordans. There was no defect noted in the description, but pics were limited. So I bought. The sneakers passed the authenticity check, but when I got them there was a big black blemish on them and the texture was also worn down. I notified eBay right away, followed their process, and sent them detailed photos. They basically told me that I'm stuck with them and they won't do anything because from their perspective they passed authenticity check and the seller has no returns marked. Two problems here. 1) there is no sense of quality check with the authenticity check and 2) even though their policy says the money back guarantee has you covered for sellers that don't accept returns, they will not honor it.
Shop with caution. You may get swindled. By a seller and by eBay.
When it comes down to ordering car parts, they never have the following items: piston return springs, muffler bearings, wheel nut valves, and gas tank oil.
EBay "closed" my return request as bein outside the return period on Feb. 21. However, on the original order, that return period extended to Feb. 25! Despite several attempts to contact their customer support, I have not had a response.
I've been a buyer and seller on eBay for 15 years. This was my go to service for getting rid of my old treasures. It was a great app but recently eBay got greedy and got rid of ppal. Once ppal was gone eBay raised their rates and took longer to get funds to my account. I've had buyers cancel orders and eBay would still charge me the fees. I'm done with eBay, looking for a similar service that is fair.
I contacted customer support to figure out why my account had been suspended. I assumed that it had something to do with my change in email address / password I made a while back in an effort to make my accounts more secure. I waited on chat for over 35 minutes and was transferred twice for them to tell me that their decision was final and they couldn't give me information on why I was suspended. I haven't done anything to violate terms. I am not a seller and rarely use the site to make purchases, so I am clueless as to why this happened. I asked if I was hacked, if I could create a new account, or checkout as a guest-- and they just disconnected the chat. Unbelievably unprofessional and unhelpful. Super frustrating experience.
They can't tell right from wrong and shamelessly help scammers against honest customers. I bought an item, which was supposed to be unused, fully functional and in excellent condition. But it was actually in poor condition with damaged and missing part, and stains. I left a negative feedback. This guy begged me for a revision and I wanted to get some partial credit back instead since he denied the return initially and I didn't even have a printer to print out the return label even if I got one from him this time, plus too much time would be wasted for a low value item even if I manage to get a physical return label. I wanted him to refund me first then I would change the feedback as he lied about the item condition first. It was nothing wrong, I just want to get compensated for an item which didn't live up to the description and save my time and protected me from getting scammed the second time. He then refused to refund me, just like I suspected. This lowlife then reported me for asking for partial credit and ebay was on his side and banned me. If it was inacceptable, why even have that option to settle a return request by offering partial credit in seller's hub? He got his negative feedback removed, along with every feedback I left in my account. This is totally absurd! Ebay just indulged his scamming and hurt loyal customers lime me by allowing false condition statement and removing true feedback maliciously.
I PURCHASED AN ITEM FOR MY WIFES NEICE, WRONG ITEM, EBAY TOLD ME TO SEND IT BACK AND I WOULD HAVE TO PAY FOR THE RETURN SHIPPNGNG, AND I WOULD GET A RTEFUND FOR THE RETURN SHIPPING, AFTER I SENT THE ITEM BACK, EBAY SENT ME AN EMAIL SAYING THAT THEY WILL NOT REFUND ME ON THE RETURN SHIPPING FROM COSTOMER SUPPORT, THEY ARE NOTHING BUT A BUNCH OF LYING THEIVING CROOKS
Wanna meet all the lobotomized scammers... come to ebay. Zero service... run around but scammers are winning.
I have done business with Musicians Friend for over 30 years and when I saw them on eBay over the holidays I thought they were just trying to reach more people. I saw a 12 string Ovation guitar with hardshell case for $942.00. I bought it immediately knowing the cases run from $150.00-200.00
When it arrived not only was there no case but the "New"Guitar was refurbished. Merry Christmas. You could see the obvious dings that had been professionally repaired. It was also scratched and dirty.
I was livid. I don't mind getting a deal on a refurbished guitar but just TELL ME!
And don't try to sell it as new.
I felt dirty. I sent it back after taking photos and contacted Musicians Friend who said the eBay store was different. They had just paid for the right to use the name and they couldn't do anything about it.
I also contacted ebay and Pay Pal (Who was still taking the pay in 4 money out) who said they would look into it. In the meantime I had to keep making the $200.00 bi monthly payments to Pay Pal on a used refurbished guitar I had returned.
I had to make a stop payment on my Pay Pal account. It was a big mess.
Anyway Pay Pal and eBay did nothing about it. The Musicians Friend eBay store count went from 2 Ovation 12 string guitars available to 3 available after they got my return. On to the next victim.
They were back ordered almost everywhere else.
The Musicians Friend eBay store was also top rated. So eBay was making money off them.
Now, I have had other experiences with buying items from big name stores through eBay with no problems at all.
Only eBay Musicians Friend. Don't buy from them. Just go to the original Musicians Friend online store.
I recently purchased a plug for charging my new IPHONE 12. When I received it i was unable to connect the leads. Trying to return/get refund or speak to a human about a resolution was impossible. My advise, buy in a store, if you have a problem, you end up with a useless piece of equipment and loose your money.

I call to customer Service and request to help to refund my money back but they refused to refund my money. I decided to stop using eBay app and want to recommend to every one not to use eBay.
I have purchased a Game DVD on eBay. The seller never shipped, never updated my order with tracking number so I raised a refund request in 30 days ebay guarantee. Seller never responded to the case and lost track of my case. I haven't checked on the case assuming eBay will make sure seller ships or refunds. To my suprise ebay closed the case w/o refund. Now eBay says it is buyer responsibility again to track the case and again raise a 2nd case with ebay for refund. Since I didn't do that in 30 days ebay and seller can fraud me and get away with it legally since I didn't escalate with second case even after raising first case for refund within 30 days.
Buyers can claim items damaged without any picture evidence and get items for free!
Sellers are held over a barrel for everything. Buyers can write LIES in their feedback and ebay will stand behind them! Even if you can categorically prove they are lies, ebay just don't care!
I just got a Motorola Boom 2 that don't work. I checked the return policy and I tried to put in for a return but it's impossible there is no way to contact them there is no buyer information I recommend you do not buy anything on this site I really admire
If I could give then zero stars, I would. I have been a member for almost 20 years. I have been selling on there off and on for the entire time. I just sold an item and am now being told that unless I turn over my bank account info, I can't be paid. I contacted them and asked why I couldn't receive my money through PayPal like I always had before. The SUPER rude customer service woman told me they didn't do that anymore. I told her having that information BEFORE I listed my item would have been helpful. She informed me I either had to give up my bank info or they would keep my money. How nice... thieves!
I have been an ebay member for 22 years and have over 10k, 100% feedback. I have seen their policies change over time. They no longer have a method for protecting sellers from buyer fraud. I'm not like some of these reviewers who don't understand their seller requirements. I had a good thing going for a long time. But there is zero protection for me now, and that is a problem.
Today on a call with a rep, I was told too bad, so sad for an item a buyer switched out. They don't have a way to allow pictures to be uploaded for proof after a buyer returns the wrong item, but they won't do anything without proof. The software doesn't allow sellers to upload pictures with a report of a buyer misusing returns, but they are supposed to somehow consider what I wrote, without any proof. Really no different than the phone call I was on, where I was told, again, nothing without proof. And I get it, I have proof but they don't allow you to upload it. I was told I could send the pictures through an email, and hopefully they will connect it to the report I submit (with no proof) that goes to another department. When I asked why seller protection changed for the worse, he mumbled something about partial refunds, indicating that he didn't understand the question or was just blowing me off. This was an English speaking rep too. Each year I watched seller friends say no more and leave for other platforms. It may soon be my time to go as well. I know that ebay doesn't care about me. I'm here to warn new sellers who hear stories from the past and mistakenly believe that they will be protected as sellers. There are predatory buyers who know new sellers aren't up to speed on the ins and outs of a scam. And now, ebay no longer has your back. I was given a 'courtesy' coupon that did not cover the full cost of the item stolen, and scolded that it won't happen again. Yeah, thanks, I'll try to recognize fraudulent buyers before they purchase from me next time. I have had less than 10 buyers like this over 22 years, but I'm the one getting the warning. If they don't care about a 22 year long customer, they certainly don't care about you. Sell your stuff somewhere else.
Ebay is not safe for sellers. You can lose your money even if it says your item has been delivered, but the buyer decides to lie about not receiving it. You will lose your money. Ebay is not what it used to be even 10 years ago. I wouldn't trust and wouldn't recommend it.
I have had the misfortune to open an account with EBAY and experience their unethical practices. EBAY use certain loopholes to enable them to steal money from sellers and as there is no governing body for the internet they're able to get away with it
I urge anyone thinking to open an account to go with a more reputable site such as VINTED. One benefit you dont pay postage with them whereas EBAY not only do you pay postage but EBAY take a percentage so they screw you every which way
If you complain to EBAY they find a way to block your account under some false pretence. They should be thoroughly investigated

Answer: I would never buy a used car without seeing it in person and having it checked out.
Answer: Ebay is a den of thieves. Even Ebay is evasive on complaints to answers. When looking for items, be sure to be fully informed to what you are shopping and use all that knowledge to cypher the listing, even then have found those that list items to be evasive on answers. Avoid ebay if possible!
Answer: For their own purposes and to protect dishonest sellers. I was once an avid EBay shopper, but now avoid EBay. Buyer protection no longer exists. You buy at your own risk.
Answer: Ebay sells nothing. You are dealing with private sellers. Some are good, some are not. The best way to determine this is to check the feedback. I personally never buy from anyone who has a feedback lower than 90%. 96% is considered bad, by Ebay. Take that with a grain of salt. Ebay management is nuts.
Answer: If you haven't already learned the hard way that Ebay is just pure bullshit when it comes to the sellers rights. When someone wants to send it back for any reason other than it doesn't work as described, you will be footing the bill. Not only will you lose the money you paid to ship it to them, Ebay will offer to provide a return label for them at your expense. Yep, that's right. They will bill you the price of the label if you don't provide it. Either way, you are paying for it to get back to you. It's get better. You can't leave negative feedback for the buyer either. It's not an option NO MATTER
Answer: Not to me! It's my main shopping tool! I look for good deals and free shipping!
Answer: Yes. You are right. All what people told you are correct. Don't trust ebay and the seller on ebay. Amazon much better than them. But anyway the best way to buy electronics from the local stores or official stores.
Answer: This depends on the seller of the item - carefully check their feedback and trust you intuition if you have doubts try another seller you feel safer with...
Answer: Hi Tom, As for reviews, you don't get them. It's called feedback. When you buy an item, the seller will probably leave feedback after you leave feedback for them. I hope that answers your question. Nancy
Answer: Depends on the seller. I wouldn't buy anything off ebay because there a crappy company.
Buy and sell electronics, cars, fashion apparel, collectibles, sporting goods, digital cameras, baby items, coupons, and everything else on eBay, the world's online marketplace
