Fraudsters at eBay want passport and driving licence of people just so people can sell items, had items ending and on same day got taken off by eBay just because I will not give strangers my identification for it to be stolen and used as identify fraud by people hacking in their system or inside jobs
This last year eBay has stolen half or all of my shipping, that I set on items I sell. I filed a complaint and looking into sueing. I'm going to look into other platforms to sell because I can no longer use eBay, I'm not going to get my money taken, it's not in any agreement they provide that they will be taking the shipping for fees. I talked to a service rep they stated they take it for seller fees and tax purposes. I pay 5.00 a month for my store subscription. Now on top of it they are STEALING and TAKING my shipping cost. Don't use eBay they are a scam.
This was the worst experience buying something online I have ever had. I bought steps for my truck that were not as described at all and did not fit. I immediately took all the proper steps to start a return. After I had sent the item back I received an e mail stating that my return was closed because the item was not received. I thought this was weird since Fed Ex tracking confirmed the item was received. I sent multiple e mails with no response. I tried to call their customer service number, all you can get is recordings that are not at all helpful. After spending so much time on the phone getting passed these recordings I finally reached a representative. He at first told me that I could not receive any refund because too much time had passed. I spend another 20 or so minutes explaining to him that I have tried multiple times to reach someone and couldn't. I had plenty of evidence that the return was received on their end and that I had tried to reach them multiple times. He finally agreed to refund my purchase. This has been several weeks and there is still no refund. Out of principle I will be calling my credit card company and disputing these charges. I cannot believe a company of this size could be this unprofessional and frankly sketchy. I will never use ebay for anything again. Buyer beware!
Sellers are becoming increasingly bolder with their scam attempts. Others are just plain lazy and not concerned with the punctuality of their shipment. In some cases it's appears as though the seller will try and wait until the buyer "forgets" about the order or becomes so exasperated with waiting or attempting to receive a refund that they just give up. I recently had to have eBay step in and resolve an issue with a very feeble 'bait n' switch' attempt over a $145 where the seller basically tried to unload a piece of junk on me. An N scale locomotive that didn't even run that he claimed "ran perfectly", did not have the proper DCC decoder installed and didn't come in the case that was shown. Pic shows old DCC decoder that was not supposed to be installed. Seller had a couple of bad reviews with accounts of the exact same scam attempt. That tells me eBay is doing very little to restrict offending sellers. Be VERY careful and read the negative reviews if the seller has any. Also, try to avoid second hand items from home sellers and items from sellers who don't actually own physical storefronts.
Convenient site, huge selection of products, ordered at my request at a time that was convenient for me! Price and quality is great!
Compro una pantalla llega rota pidieron fotos de todo dijeron que iban a recoger la caja nunca vinieron y ya cerraron el caso, todos son unos estafadores, ebay y sus vendedores!
You will find that ebay has a new feature on returns, no more paying for packaging fussing with tape. Just drop it off and go... drop box feature... drive up, toss it in and done. Expecting a delivery but also return something or not happy about? No more rude customer service reps or playing phone tag transfers. Just hand it over to the delivery guy it's like swapping it out. No fuss no questions done.
Ebay let a seller put me out $300 for a cell phone that barely has signal to work! This same seller has over 12 negative reviews in the past 6 months, but bcuz most of their reviews are positive Ebay would rather keep them instead. Was using Ebay for over 15 yrs
The app is amazing and has helped me get many sports card items and more. There is much cheaper stuff there than in a store. I bought nba 2k22 for $20 when it costed 60$
Just sold an item at a massively reduced price at $5000. I admit it was my fault that i did not check ebay's fees.
However, I did not expect $560 in fees!
The buyer paid, and as it was a heavy item with local pick up, ebay held my funds.
The buyer picked up 3 days later, advised ebay through messages that they had picked up the item, and ebay 4 days later are still withholding my funds
I have been an ebay customer for 17 years.
When I called to complain about the whole transaction I was offered a fee reduction
They arent going to honour this, however.
And they still havent paid me.
Never again. I will never sell with ebay again.
Just a terrible experience.

Ordered phone and asked it to be cancelled minutes after I paid. The sellar wouldn't but ebay told me to go ahead and buy another phone with a warranty seeing the other one didn't. And they assured me that I would get my money back. He would never let me return it and even though I was told 5 time by 5 different eBay rep's that I would get my money back they won't return it. They are liars and there service stinks. There is no service they go around in circles with you. Never deal with these this company
Experiences teaches only to buy items from ebay that cost a few pounds since so often what arrives is of poor quality and the chances of getting your money back are minimal. However selling! I have sold two items. The first time the experience was fine. Second attempt, payment from Ebay was late (still nor received) and EBAY charged 13% in fees which were not levied the first time I sold and which were not detailed when I listed the item. "Both buyer and seller beware" I suppose.
The customer service was excellent. But Ebay business model neet to fix it. I have to call 9 times to find it out how I can get my refund, due to I never received my order. The manager helped me got refund case number, said I will get refund within 5 business days. Called again after 5 days, answer was it will take 10 business days, called again, no, you can't get refund. And it got more and more frustrated and need to explain every time, but still not getting fixed. I will never buy anything from Ebay any more, this experience driving me down to the hill. It was so bad... Ebay, your business drive good customer like me, will never forget this so bad experience. It will be the first time, and last time. Life is too short to deal with this kind of headache. Move on to Amazon, they are very good at take care of customer. You have the power to fix the problem, the buyer didn't get the order, the seller should not get pay. Your rule after one month, customer can't get refund.
Not OK ebay! Seller admitted flaws in item were not described or photographed but refused compensation so I left neutral feedback and stated the item was not described or well photographed. Seller complained about my legitimate and more-than-fair (I should have been harsher) feedback. Because seller complained, and even though ebay had proof of policy contravention in the communication between seller and me, ebay removed my feedback. Though they agreed removal of my feedback had been a mistake, they could no longer re-instate it so the seller's rating was not affected. Buyers depend on ebay being honest and fair with seller ratings. BUYERS beware!
I sold an item for $289.99. I sent the package certified and insured. The buyer signed for it, called his financial institution to state he didn't recall making a purchase, and received the money back from his financial institution and out of my account as well. He made off with the item, committed insurance fraud at his financial institution, and I am out the money and product as well. EBay sided even after my appeal showing proof he signed for the item. Seller beware...
EBay permanently close my 15 year old account with 1866 purchase because I returned some items that was counterfeit. One seller claimed it was real when I had reasonable proof it was fake and made an appeal and eBay took his side. They said I was taking advantage of the return policy as I returned a item that was stated "no as describe" which seller claims it was "as describe". First of all, I have a authentication certificate from Legit Grails that state the item is FAKE. Second, EBay prohibite counterfeit items and they took blindly the sellers side without even looking at my proof of counterfeit. I purchased Chanel purses for around 1000$ to 4000$ and I've received 4 times counterfeit WITH proof of authentication of counterfeit. I called maybe 10 times and no one resolved anything and each tell me a different story,
On several occasions, eBay allowed me to be a victim of fraudulent Vendors. After being conned by a dishonesty Vendor, it was totally up to me, to find a way of getting my money back on a refundable item. I am hoping that the Federal Trade Commission investigate their way of doing business. The unfair way that customers are being lied to by a Customer Service person has worsened. There are actually so many cases like this, til it's app are over flowing with bad experiences. No matter what it takes, it is an urgent matter that Ebay clean up it's act, starting with it's horrible Customer Service.
Do I hate eBay? Not really. Do I like eBay? Not really. Is my former mailman an evil spy? It's possible!
EBay is sort of like that kid you went to high school with that you spoke to when all of your mates cut class to go to the beach but you didn't get the memo because you were too busy watching short clips of Ana de Armas in study hall. And if you're into men, well... Who am I kidding? Everyone likes Ana de Armas! Even my toaster!
Anyhoo, eBay is sort of like Amazon but owned by a less corrupt billionaire, that is fine with people selling used sex toys and clothing that should've been tossed out years ago, for thrice what you paid for it back in the 1990s. Seriously, where do these people get off thinking any normal person is going to pay $300 for a shirt that is in worse condition than my terrible Chevy Cruze? PS, don't buy that car unless you like being broke.
Anyhoo, eBay can be a good site if you're a collector of certain things that aren't made anymore. It's literally the only reason I occasionally use the website. For newer things, if you don't mind waiting for it to be mailed from Russia or the Moon, Etsy is a good standby. Although I'm still almost entirely convinced that Etsy is owned by my former mailman, Paco. That a-hole!
But yeah, if you like used things or supposedly new things that are worse quality than used things, eBay might be right for you! Just remember that as with every other website, there are all kinds of scammers on eBay that will insist on paying you with cashier's checks and occasionally 'sex'. Just do what I do and tell them that as great as both things sound, you must decline since you need the actual money to pay to get your chia pet that gender reassignment operation it so desperately needs. That will usually make them leave me alone every time. And if it doesn't, send them pictures of the operation and that will surely scare them off!
Cheers!
Go to a live auction and try to leave without paying after winning an item. That would be simply impossible and you would be dealing with a police. Not on eBay. The sellers enjoy zero protection by eBay what comes to payments. Every time someone decides not to pay, it causes major inconvenience as your item cannot be relisted while you are waiting for the payment - and you have spent several days assuming that you will have the money in hand from the sales you made. I have seen people do this kind of a thing on purpose just to taunt you on eBay. What really is quite unbelievable, is how eBay started charging tax even for the sales of a used item. It's not enough that we have paid the tax initially when the items were purchased new. Of course this is not eBay's fault, it's the greed of our Government. However, we can sell our items on several sites without the tax being collected. In any case, for the fees that sellers pay, one would expect more protection for sellers. Sellers are not even able to leave negative feedback for buyers who don't pay. Yet buyers can give bad review for the seller - even if it's the USPS taking too long to ship or if they leave the package 2 inches too far to the left from the door. Beyond all this, eBay is way too slow to react, when completely obvious fake designer items are being sold on eBay in huge numbers. No matter how many people report the activity.
Ebay charged me to list my two items. YOU took them down saying they are counterfeit. I am highly upset over this. My items were bought from the largest coin dealer in my city and were authenticated. Ebay you took my money and called me a liar. I tried all your contact customer service and was never able to speak with anyone.
Answer: I would never buy a used car without seeing it in person and having it checked out.
Answer: Ebay is a den of thieves. Even Ebay is evasive on complaints to answers. When looking for items, be sure to be fully informed to what you are shopping and use all that knowledge to cypher the listing, even then have found those that list items to be evasive on answers. Avoid ebay if possible!
Answer: For their own purposes and to protect dishonest sellers. I was once an avid EBay shopper, but now avoid EBay. Buyer protection no longer exists. You buy at your own risk.
Answer: Ebay sells nothing. You are dealing with private sellers. Some are good, some are not. The best way to determine this is to check the feedback. I personally never buy from anyone who has a feedback lower than 90%. 96% is considered bad, by Ebay. Take that with a grain of salt. Ebay management is nuts.
Answer: If you haven't already learned the hard way that Ebay is just pure bullshit when it comes to the sellers rights. When someone wants to send it back for any reason other than it doesn't work as described, you will be footing the bill. Not only will you lose the money you paid to ship it to them, Ebay will offer to provide a return label for them at your expense. Yep, that's right. They will bill you the price of the label if you don't provide it. Either way, you are paying for it to get back to you. It's get better. You can't leave negative feedback for the buyer either. It's not an option NO MATTER
Answer: Not to me! It's my main shopping tool! I look for good deals and free shipping!
Answer: Yes. You are right. All what people told you are correct. Don't trust ebay and the seller on ebay. Amazon much better than them. But anyway the best way to buy electronics from the local stores or official stores.
Answer: This depends on the seller of the item - carefully check their feedback and trust you intuition if you have doubts try another seller you feel safer with...
Answer: Hi Tom, As for reviews, you don't get them. It's called feedback. When you buy an item, the seller will probably leave feedback after you leave feedback for them. I hope that answers your question. Nancy
Answer: Depends on the seller. I wouldn't buy anything off ebay because there a crappy company.
