This 'everything under the sun' distributor has great prices and very interesting/entertaining to peruse through. The first shipment arrives within a satisfactory time (within 2 weeks) BUT if you have further shipments... they could arrive up to 4 weeks later. They are generally pretty good at completing orders in multiple shipments but in one case I did have to contact them and they shipped the goods within 2 weeks. Minor issue :)
Deal extreme is the worst retail website i ever used. They didn't respect their commitment on deliveries date, they are incapable to give an estimation date. Worst they have an Expedited mode for an extra 20$ that is useless! So useless the customer service admitted it during a chat session with them.
Their customer service is scornful and their only answer is "You have to wait." and "It will be there soon."
My advice never order on this website.
As long as your merchandise works and is in order, DealExtreme is fine. But if you need to return a defective item, you must get their approval, print a code number and send it back after providing photographic proof of the stamped package. Up until now no problem. But then you will be issued a 100% bogus "STORE CREDIT", which you will not be able to redeem. In order to use this 'credit', Deal Extreme reps will suggest that you place another order, and pay for IT in full... and then, somehow--magically, maybe-- your credit will be applied. Buyer beware!
So far so good... stay on top of them when you order.
If you don't get a working tracking number then threaten to open a dispute via paypal they are like every other direct from China site if you attempt to use their dispute system you will get side run.
All in all not the cheapest China shopping site but the fact it has PayPal forces them to have some accountability to the buyers.
One of the most unpleasant on line buying experiences ever. The high handed arrogance and rudeness of the So-called"support" staff was unbelievable including arguing with me on the definition of US$ (I have been an accountant (CPA) for over 40 years). Goods lost and told it was my fault- never again. If I could score lower I would
Placed an order. Seller cancelled order. Seller did not refund and ignored all messages.
Messaged DX.com. They also ignored messages.
Opened PayPal dispute. Seller also ignored messages from PayPal. PayPal refunded.
There are hundreds of stories like this regarding DX. Scam on many review sites.
If you dare to place an order, be prepared for the nightmare that may follow.
Many people have never managed to recover their money. I am amongst the fortunate few.
I FINALLY got my last three items, but it took about or over a month. "SLOW boat from China"!
Value for my money, but if you need something quickly, search elsewhere...
And, I can't in any way vouch for their reliability in shipping all items or any, for that matter. From what I read here, people lose money, never get their items, get them late or the items are defective...
Purchase from them at your own risk...
Worst online experience ever. Ordered a battery replacement for Nintendo 3DX over 6 weeks ago. Still have not received Item. And they cant tell me when I will receive it... all they do is apologize for delay... useless customer service. Shopping elsewhere next time, anywhere else
As mentioned by other reviewers, shipping is slow, sometimes really slow (1-2 months) with this site. I've ordered from them many times and generally find their products ok (occasionally really good/bad; you get what you pay for). So far I've had 2 lemons but one was partially my bad since I did not do sufficient research on the item before ordering. In my experience, ordering things that cost less than 20 bucks is safe. Even if the item is dead on delivery they 'might' consider re-shipping a new item to you given the low price. I look to this site first when ordering stuff from China, it does not have the lowest price but at least there is some glimmer of assurance... haha.
Paid for premium mailing and received package a month later, had to pay a lot of customs plus the phone wasn't in a good condition. They won't refund anything, I guess it is my fault for trusting this company
Paying fast shipping made sense in the beginning since I realised it literally makes no sense to pay extra. They stated 5-7 days for the extra shipping and It has already been 4th week and I am still waiting for the item. I will never ever buy from this website again. Waste of money and time.
Received the expensive but faulty earpods. From somewhere in Hong Kong apparently, after paying for quick delivery. They arrived 2 weeks later.
Tried contacting them several times but no reply.
They seem to operate on the basis that ignoring unhappy customers will make them go away eventually.
Avoid and go elsewhere, even if you must pay a bit more at least you get what you pay for.
I've been using dx a long time ago. They were not great but decent. Few years ago they probably sold the business to someone else because they changed completely. They are plain SCAMMERS now. Confirmed.
The only thing I wonder is how they are still in business and scamming so many people on daily basis.
And forget the customer support, you'll never get a reply. Just look at the reviews and their Facebook page and you'll have a clearer picture.
Don't even think about ordering anything. You better throw you money down the toilet, at least the suffering will last shorter.
You have been warned!
Having bought various items from DX, most were good but one which was faulty gave me so much grief. They try every trick in the book not to refund your money. You have to pay return postage and hope they pay you back. I ended up having to get VISA and the Consumer Council involved, before they would refund my money. (Now having the same problem with PriceAngels, over the same product, as I thought I'd try to get it elsewhere, following a friends rave review of the item.)
I'll never shop with DX again after this and suspect PriceAngels are a sister company. Wish I had known that before ordering.
Their shipments take forever to arrive and their whole attitude, once they have your money, is "Couldn't care less!"

Good prices but thats about it with the positive points.
-
Shipping is slow and the tracking service they use is not clear at all
No answers on emailed questions/no cusomter support
Phone hotline never picks up
I do not recommend to buy products here. The product was about 8% cheaper than on amazon - i should have bought it there and saved my time getting angry about waiting for a product forever.
I ordered two Huawei batteries in October 2014. They hadn't arrived by December and I asked dealextreme (via email) to send them again. Six weeks later (end of Jan 2015) I have still received nothing. My recommendation would be to avoid this site completely. I don't think I'll see my money or the batteries ever again.
I recently ordered a laptop from Debenhams which was due for delivery yesterday between 8.00 and 18.00 hrs. I waited in all day until 18.30, when I had to go out on business. Your delivery company tried to deliver at 18.47, well after the contracted time.
To rearrange delivery by DX by phone it seems I get charged 10p a minute! To make matters even worse, they are unable to deliver until Monday (4 days later) and are unable to tell me whether it will be delivered am or pm unless I pay an extra £7. Am I expected to wait around all day on Monday?
It used to be a good site, but not anymore.
They don't ship, supply fake tracking numbers and don't reply to customers letters.
On November 19 I bought a phone from them.
On November 24 they informed me that the phone was shipped and gave me a fake China Post tracking number for the shipment.
There was no information on that number on China Post site and I contacted DealExtreme twice through their ticket system asking them to check what is wrong with the shipment, but they did not reply.
16 days later, on December 9, without any notice, they changed the tracking number to another one. It took me time to find out that it should be Swedish Post number, but there is no any information on that number there too.
I contacted DealExtreme again through their ticket system asking them to give me an explanation on what is going on, but they ignored this letter too, so I opened a dispute with Paypal.
Would not buy from them again, and would not recommend them to anyone.
This is one of the best china website at the moment. Here you get what you pay, low price low quality and better price better quality. But if you do not want to pay premium price for your replacement like your charger or adapter then this is the site that comes highly recommended. Replacement can be difficult to impossible so pray very hard that they send you a working item like buying your everyday item. The key word is "working item". Do not set your expectation too high then you will be alright.
DX.com which I have used many times always asks for a review when you purchase an item. I purchased a cell phone cable and it broke the first time I used it. The end tab just fell off. I went to post this result and this is the response I received back from DX.com. If you are purchasing on a site and all the review are positive. Don't believe them. Here is the response I received. Also when I go to "my account", "my review", nothing is there.
"Dear customer,
Sorry for casing inconvenience.
Your recent review title "Broke the first time I used it.", which contains SKU ******* has been unapproved for some reasons. See my account ->my review" or contact us via Email for details.
Email address: *******@mail.dx.com
Thank you very much!
Sincerely,
DX Product Review Team""
Answer: If you mean is it an actual business that sell products, the answer is yes. If you asked me if I would ever purchase another item from this company, the answer is no!
