First off, I'm a driver. And while some of us have no business even picking our nose, many of us do a pretty good job. This, despite some restaurants not having the orders ready and us having to wait a half hour just for the food. Or, some of them not filling or packing the orders correctly. Guess what happens when they put a cup of soup in a loose container then put that cup in a paper bag? Or, when the customer doesn't even know where they live or the driver has to go onto a military that requires an hour-long wait to get a pass to make their deliveries, all the while the food gets cold? It's not always easy delivering so some screwups happen that aren't the drivers' fault. Still, to me the job is usually fun and if you have more than a couple of brain cells to rub together you can make a few bucks and create happy customers.
I ordered food to be delivered to my home from the Website for Cactus Restaurant in Kirkland, WA. I selected delivery from DoorDash, which automatically opened the DoorDash app which I have an account with and have used before without issue. I paid for the food and never received it.
Since then, I discovered that DoorDash had updated my address to different 'NON' existent address without a house number and a street that is miles long. So, when the driver picked it up - there was no where to deliver the food. However, the driver just texted me and said he was on the street and then never replied to my requests... he basically kept my food.
When talking to DoorDash, they said it was my fault.
I ordered a $150 DoorDash gift card to be delivered via text message on 7/24/2020. It is 7/27 and the recipient has not received the gift card. I called the customer service and was told they could not give me an update on my gift card. I was told to send an email. Have not received a response. Gift card still not delivered, but my credit card was charged!
Ordered Pizzas. They did not arrive but where marked as arrived in the app. Contacted service. They arranged a re-delivery. This delivery also never arrived. Asked for a refund - which has been promised. After a few days I asked for the refund. They said: no refund as you already had a re-delivery (the one I never had either!). Scam!
Doordash is the worst, most unethical company I have ever seen. They lie and steal from dashers. There is so much fraud that takes place on the customer's end, by saying they did not receive their order. DD does nothing to investigate. They refund the customer and blame the dasher without even investigating and speaking with the dasher. This has to stop! Completely unethical! They need to be held accountable for their unethical and illegal behavior.
With ANY service, I tip after service rendered. Please don't expect a tip from the start because it's merit based, and unfortunately for the Driver, it's based on quality of product. I will tip but it would be reduced depending on service & product
We had to end up using 2 drivers. The first one gave us the wrong order, because she didn't read the order number, and gave us some other Larry's 5.00 order. Then I called taco bell complained to them, then my husband called the doordash number and complained. They sent another driver to go pick it up, and that drivr was too damn lazy to find our house, so he (ben) decided to leave our correct order on a bench outside in front of the office at the mobile home park we live at. The food was ice cold. So my husband called door dash again and told them he wanted a refund and that we'll never use door dash again. The drivers we had need to be fired. The first driver should have matched the order number. So don't use this delivery if you can help it. So NO RATING! Piss poor servive!
While a great concept, I've tried ordering from them twice, and both times after waiting over an hour, the order was mysteriously canceled with no record on my account. The first time I gave them the benefit of the doubt and chalked it up to a bug or a small service mistake, but after the exact same thing happening a second time I've decided to never give them my business again.
While I could understand if a driver simply wasn't available, or some other type of issue cropped up, the fact that there is no notification or record of the attempted order is evidence of the very poor design of their user interface in addition to their poor service.
I was at a friends house they insisted we use door dash and door dash - forgot to leave a bag and said they were too busy to drop off the 2nd bag. They are truly the bottom of the barrel when it comes to food delivery. By switched to grub hub last year and have never had a problem. We actually had do call the restaurant we order and pick it up ourselves.
DoorDash is a trash company! I will not be using their app or giving them business ever again. I always run into issues with my orders when I don't have issues with Postmates or Uber Eats. I ordered some crab rangoons from Bo-Lings here in Kansas City and was charged $21.95! My actual entree didn't even cost that much. For SIX crab rangoons. The restaurant charges $7.95. I emailed them and they sent me some BS excuse about how the restaurant sets prices differently and basically would not give me a refund. Now, I go back on the app to check and of course, the price is now $7.95. I just sent another email and I better receive a refund. This is honestly ridiculous that they didn't take the time to research this and just dismissed me. I'm not the type to constantly leave long ranting reviews but this pissed me off.
We will never use this service again. And any restaurant that uses them is out as well. They forgot our soup twice and they were told twice by Panera to bring it. Door Dash refuses to come back with our soup. Never ever use this service. Ever. Never.
Horrible experience. I scheduled a delivery at 2 in the afternoon for 645 at night. At 7, I was told it would be there at 8pm. At 730 we decided to pick up from somewhere else because we couldn't wait any longer. When the food arrived it was cold. The restaurant said it had been sitting there since 5:57. When I contacted the company, I was told 5.00 credit was all they could give me. I've had much better experience with Grubhub and Caviar.
I placed an order on 1/30/21 on Wing Stop website for delivery. The service they use is Door Dash. That experience was horrible! I tried calling the dasher to make sure they could get into my complex. I called and she said she didn't speak English and she couldn't understand me and hung up. I waited another 15 minutes, no food. Someone from Door Dash called me. She stated that the dasher could find my building. I advised her that I called the dasher and she does not speak English. The caller told me yeah but she can't find my address. She hung up. All and all the door Dash customer service person called me twice. I walked outside and this lady was getting out of her car and gave me the bag with my food in it. She didn't know I was the customer she just gave it to me and said no building number and got back in her car. I have been calling Door Dash ever since and they are not trying to help. If you can please do not use this service.
I've had the worst experience over the course of two days trying to order via door dash. They delivered my food cold. It took one hour to deliver although the place I ordered from is less than 4 mins from my house. The driver took another food order and successfully delivered the order before dropping my food off. My food was ice cold by the time it arrived. Customer was was extremely unhelpful and rude!
Do Not Order if you are hungry, not unless you don't mind paying for food that never comes. Today was my first experience with Doordash and my last. I ordered my food and after an hour checked the status to see it was delivered. I was shocked since NO food came to my door. I called the restaurant and was informed the food was not there and they are not affiliated with Doordash and any issues/refunds must be done through Doordash. I searched for their customer services number and found none. The only was to contact them is via chat or email. I was then told no one came to the door so the driver left the food on the doorstep. I live in a small apt with a yappy dog and no one came to my door, nor was their food on the outside (which who would eat food lying on the ground in the heat). Doordash offered to compensate me but it will take 7 to 10 days for my refund. Seriously! They take your money right away but to give it back it takes as long as it does for their delivery. Terrible service
My dad's debit card was used fraudulently at this and other food sites. Doordash did a quick investigation and determined it was fraud and refunded his money. (Grubhub refused to provide a refund after they determined it was fraud)
On May 10 2022 I ordered from Doordash not only did they not deliver my order when asked for a refund they blocked me from the website the driver Juan was the absolute worst wouldn't bother to give them a star if you want your money took and food eaten by the driver choose Doordash. I wouldn't recommend it.
Ordering from door dash and the driver didnt give us our food that we had payed over 50$ for. When we messaged customer service they told us there was nothing we could do about it! And it took multiple messages for them to even consider giving us a refund for our order which never came. And in the end they didn't even give us a full refund. The person on the other end of the customer service had a strong attitude saying phrases like "too bad" and ending the conversation before a conclusion was reached. So in the end we are down 50$ and dont have the food we payed for.
Every time we have used Door Dash or ordered from a restaurant who uses them for delivery we have had an issue.
Twice In three months our food never showed. IF the food shows, there are entrees missing. 97% of the time they are 20-45 minutes late (past the 30 minute window) so our food is ALWAYS freezing cold.
Even the restaurants dislike using Door Dash because they receive so many complaints about missing and cold food.
Calling Door Dash is lengthy and frustrating. They act as if they are doing you a favor for reimbursing you for stolen meals that never showed up.
Didn't even send the order into the restaurant and when the driver arrived to pick my order up they did not have my order ready the driver was nice enough to call and tell me then after calling both places the driver calls and said the order finally went through so no issue with the driver just the company

Answer: First, DoorDash collects a tip BEFORE you get service. I always tip, so should you. Ubereats lets you tip AFTER you get service - better. Caveat - getting your tip back from DoorDash for bad service is almost impossible.
