I went to the store about 6:45 pm.this evening and AGAIN. Found between 7 and 10 print outs apologizing to their valued customers for being. Closed!. They are closed more than they are open. If you close AT 8pm. CLOSE AT 8PM. NOT 7pm or 7:30 pm. Because you want to walk out the door AT 8pm. The customers don't seem to be as valued when it comes time for this to happen.This has to be THEE Worst Dollar General. They may as well.close permanently since the community ends up having to go elsewhere anyway!

I shop at the Dollar General in Pittsford, VT. It is a great place to get many items not available to me locally. Our store is usually well stocked and neat, I have always been given help when I needed it and the employees are polite and friendly. I am there several times a week. Once in a while they have had to limit their hours due to lack of available help but that has not been often.
Store ******* is never attended the workers just set outside and smoke cigarettes while shoppers are left inside to find things for them selves and use self check out. The manager when on duty sets in the office and does not come out. I've been disappointed in stores before but this one is by far the worst. They might as well give the jobs to a computer
Avoid Dollar General stores in Philadelphia, NY and Theresa,NY. Both are extremely dirty, crowded, salespeople are rude, self check outs, no public restriooms...I'll take my business to Dollar Tree were the store(Evan's Mills, NY) is clean, salespeople are friendly and helpful and they have clean public bathrooms!

Why has the air conditioning been broke ALL summer long at this store? I feel horrible for the fabulous employees. Having to work in this heat all summer. As a customer I can't even shop long sadly. It was just too hot. Absolutely astounding DG let's their employees and patrons have to deal with this.
I bought a coffee pot that was defective, leaked water. Box was damaged and the store representative told me to keep the receipt. I tried to return it to a different store because I was traveling and was no longer in the area where I purchased it. Went to a local store in Florida and they said they couldn't return it as there was a barcode on the receipt and not a QR Code. Representative said I have to find a store which had the old system for scanning. Rediculous! This is a nation wide chain how is it not returnable at any location? How am I supposed to know which stores are running old software? I believe the receipt says I have 14 days to return it with a receipt. How stupid is this. I guess the CEO needed his Millions and couldn't upgrade all the stores computers. They will not get my business any more. Pathetic.

I usually shop once or twice a month for a few groceries or essential things. Paper goods, for instance, or household cleaning supplies. Or hygiene items on occasion.
Trouble is, I must bring with me a backpack for carrying purchases home. I do NOT drive anymore (my car broke down in 2011, I have yet to earn enough to replace it!) I walk or take a bus to get around.
Here's the kicker. I'm invisibly DISABLED
I suffer chronic pain problems in my back & joints & circulation. Often times carrying several heavy bulky shopping bags at once can get painful. So, I bring a backpack & other times if there's way more things to carry, a buggy cart. Not a store cart, a roll around metal wagon thing, like a cage, but on wheels.
This can often get me stereotyped as a "bag lady" & they automatically believe I'm going to shoplift...well, I DON'T APPRECIATE being treated that way when all I try to do is make a few necessary purchases, & safely carry them home. I. DON'T. STEAL! NEVER have, or will.
Plus some say this happens more to men or people of color. I'm a female in late 40s who's white.
I believe DG is violating consumer's rights here, as well as possibly some clause or 2 of the Federal ADA with this specific store policy.
Also guys, CLEAN UP YOUR AISLES! Crikey, it can be a royal PITA just to get thru all the stacks of unopened boxes of merch just to get what we need! Can't imagine how it would be for a wheelchair-bound person, as hard as it is for everyone else...

The worst possible store of any type anywhere. Litter all over store, vomit on the floor for weeks? Sure looked like it. Store stock on racks all over the store, everywhere, you cant get to the shelves because the stock is on racks, in all hallways, walkways, paths and worse. Shelves of stuff falling into the walkway, most shelves not stocked, horrible smell inside and it just goes on and on, the manager smelled like a garbage truck that had been smoking weed. Its just the worst store ive ever seen and replacing the old manager, promise to get better, its 10 times worse now.

I was at the New Buffalo Michigan Dollar General store today and the cashier seemed to want to fight. She wasn't at the register when I walked up so I stepped over to the self-checkout and she came out of the back and said I was getting there (to her register). I said OK, smiled because I thought she was being sarcastic but trying to be funny, taking my stuff down to her register. She looked at me and said did I say something funny? I looked at her like she was joking, then saw she was serious. I also didn't get any kind of thank you after paying. I didn't deserve that. Bought a coffee pot there and the next day it didnt work so i tossed it and bought another one that one lasted a couple days and went out through that in the garbage and when he got another one and in the middle of making coffee it keeps shutting down that three for three which means you sell junk
