I applied for this credit card and I am glad I did. I've never had any problem with my Discover credit card. Everything Discover credit card states, it does! Discover credit card Is one of the best credit card I have had! I HIGHLY recommend Discover credit card!
Discover spouts their customers are never responsible for unauthorized charges. Liars. I disputed 2 and they told me I would not get refund. Huh? Also, they never sent my debit card to me so I called and they said my address was incorrect as it was returned. My address is correct and I didn't return it. So that was that they wouldn't send it. Morons. Plus I get tons of Discover junk mail every week. I will not use them again. So many better Credit Card co's.
After having the Discover Card for about three months, I go to use it at a gas station and find out that the card was declined.
I call customer service and find out that they suspended the card in order for them to verify my banking information.

I have been using this same bank and now, all of a sudden, they interrupt services to check my bank...
I find that outrageous.
A few months later, again, I go to use the card and discover it has been suspended in order to verify my tax return information.
First of all, I pay my taxes am in good standing with the IRS.
Secondly, they suspended the card without notice, letter, email or anything.
Lastly, dealing with the has caused much unnecessary grief...

I have been a discover card customer for over 3 years. Never have I missed a payment and have always paid their ridiculous interest. Month after month I have done this. I recently lost my job and called in to have my monthly payment deferred. I was told by the rep that their is nothing they can do and that maybe I should take out a loan to make my payment. WOW! I hope to pay off my balance and cancel this account. They will not get any of my money moving forward. Do yourself a favor and stay away from all things Discover.
Have had credit for 42 years no late payments and a FICO score of 843-discover would not raise my credit limit above their paltry $5K-their reason I did not have a large enough balance. I could not use them for a household move or many larger purchases that exceeded their ridiculous limit. They also take for ever to post rewards-just a purely inept company. Save yourself grief as Chase Freedom has been excellent and post rewards and special offers promptly.

It was a mistake choosing Discover card. I am on vacation and Sunday morning I received and email staying I needed to verify my account. I did so and am now told I need to wait 5 business days before I can use my card. I am not sure why they did not verify my account when I opened it with them. I cannot close it because it will damage my credit score. Take my advice, choose a different company! Discover was a big mistake!
Discover card might have a low annual fee, but you get what you pay for! They do not protect their customers. I had a charge with a merchant who went out of business and Discover would not rule in my favor and credit my account when American Express did for the same merchant for 6x the amount. Not worth the card.
I've been a customer with discover for over 11 years. During the pandemic I you racked up my credit usage. Just like a majority of the country it was a rough time. Once I got back on my feet I made a $1,000 payment to the card in order to have some kind of an emergency fund for me and my family. The next day they took this $1,000 off my credit limit so I went back to 100% usage after making $1,000 payment and now I have zero money as a emergency fund. If something were to happen to one of my children I have no money or way of paying for it without this discover card. Thanks a lot discover if I knew this I would have never have made the $1,000 payment I would have told you to half off and never paid you back. I would stay away from this company apparently they don't give a s*** about the normal people they're too worried about screwing them over when they need help. In all honesty this company is a piece of garbage. I would go with Chase credit card I made payments to them I paid the card off 100% and they didn't lower my credit limit at all. Good job Chase thank you discover you should go out of business.
This company sucks and their customer service does also. They hold onto your money and take you through hoops to get it back. I've been waiting on my refund for a month and now they're telling me I have to close my account to get it back or I will have to wait until July. Not only am I out of my money now I'm going to get negative reports for closing this stupid account. Would not recommend them to anyone! I totally regret opening an account with them.
I am a senior who was scammed by a supplement company. I have disputed the charges and am extremely disappointed in Discover. I have done business with them for almost 20 years and the clearly are biased toward the scammers. My credit score is Excellent and I am flabbergasted. The dispute department clearly is being trained to support these scammers rather than the consumer. Beware this company. I'm thinking of closing my account. A less than 1 star experience for sure.
Be aware, Discover does not stand by their customers! Last year during the early days of the pandemic I was having a hard time getting a refund back for flights in Europe. I filed a dispute and Discover stood by the airline even though the flight was canceled, Europe was essentially closed to US citizens and I never took the flight, have proof the flight was canceled by the airline and Discover kept my money! Theft as far as I'm concerned.

I have a recurring charge on my card which I do not recognize. Each time I dispute it with discover, they give me the phone number to this " company," and expect me to call them and work it out myself. The charge is only, $ 5.33, but as I told the representative, next month it could be $ 500.00. I asked for a new card with a different number, but that didn't help. Also, took me hours to get through to Discover on the phone, as their customer service number wasn't working. The customer service rep. Simply is not interested in resolving the issue.
We all know how hard it is to speak with a representative, not with this bank. You will not listen to pages and pages of advertisement, you will hear grumbling but a cheerful live person after only two question. I have not found any other bank with this kind of service. Great, reliable customer service who answers your call immediately... remember being forced to listen to pages and pages of a recording message and then jumping to another recording message and at the end of 15 minutes you may just get disconnected? Not here with Discover... you get efficient and prompt answer from a live person... what a difference... well, they'll get my business.
I have a Savings account and I have a credit card with Discover. They offer a higher annual interest rate than my credit union. They do not charge me fees for maintaining my account. The credit card does offer competitive cash rewards for everyday purchases. The rewards change quarterly.
I had fraudulent charges placed on my Discover card. After reporting the fraud, Discover refused to remove the charges and basically said my wife and I were lying. Over $900 of charges. Unless I pay the charges I will have to go to court, and also have my credit rating trashed. POOREST customer service I have ever experienced. Would advise against trusting an untrustworthy company.
I agree with some others. They were fine. Until they weren't. It's like they are trying to lose business. I had 2 credit cards with them.
