Originally it said it was only £11.99 to have my phone unlocked. However, there was a hidden cost of an extra £26.

It did work, and my phone is now unlocked after only an hour, but not happy about the extra charge.

I'm sorry to hear about your experience. It appears that your Galaxy S21+ 5G didn't unlock with the code provided. Given your situation, since your phone did not request an unlocking code, you'll need to proceed with a "Remote USB Unlock" to complete the process.

As stated in our Terms and Conditions, when an unlock code does not work or if the phone doesn't prompt for a code, it's necessary to perform a Remote USB Unlock. This final step is required to fully unlock your device.

Direct unlock will ask you for a small amount. Which is around $29us at the beginning and then the rest of the money? After checking the background of the phone and then they do the action to provide the code it took me one day and half.

So go in I thought that it was gonna be a hassle headache having to deal with these third-party companies, and on the contrary, it was quite a simple process was not time consuming on my part. Overall, quite happy with the service from Direct Unlocks - however, no matter how much they state "it's written there on the page you buy from", it's very misleading that there are hidden extra charges. The initial price was clearly quoted at £11.99. This turns out to be for a pre-unlock admin "check" charge, not the unlock. In small print on the "buy it now" page, (which, like many others, I missed) it says "If your check is successful, there will be an additional fee of £26.00 to pay". I can't argue that it wasn't there, they even send you a screen shot - as clearly a lot of people have complained! It was there, it was just very small and not at all obvious. On top of that, it was suggested the unlock would be immediate but it took 6 days to arrive which left us in a bit of a pickle as the number had already transferred! All that aside, the communication throughout was very good - the site is NOT a scam, and when the unlock code came through, it worked first time. Please Direct Unlocks - do everyone a favour and put the initial price as the full price. If people need the code, they will pay it. You don't need to make it difficult to see.

Your suggestion about clearly displaying the entire cost upfront is valuable, and I'll certainly pass that along to our team.

For future reference, the timeframes we provide are guidelines based on recent data, and while we strive to be quick, sometimes unforeseen delays can occur.

Complete scam

Did everything as instructed and no unlock. I'm the original owner of an AT&T phone and upon leaving them with phone paid off and zero owed they network locked my phone. This service claimed to fix such a problem and has yet to deliver. I have paid nearly 200 dollars thus far and no satisfaction at all. Very disappointed.

To proceed, could you please confirm if your phone prompts for an unlock code when you insert a non-AT&T SIM card? If it does, you should be able to use the codes provided:
- NCK: 7153807268293616
- MCK: 6903072506481741

If your Galaxy S21 5G does not prompt for an unlocking code, a Remote USB Unlock is required to complete the process. This additional step is necessary for some devices as outlined in our terms:
> "As stated on the order summary page prior to purchase, if your handset doesn't ask for an unlock code prior to payment, then we will not be able to unlock the device but still incur submission costs and you will instead have to use a Remote USB unlock at additional cost."
