After recently being scammed online I really thought this was headed in the same direction since they asked for a payment then a 2nd then said it would take 2days. The phone was locked to AT&T and even the person who bought and paid it off couldn't get them to unlock it. Less than 2 days and the phone is unlocked and ready to go

If your phone isn't prompting you to enter an unlocking code when you insert a non-AT&T SIM card, it looks like you'll need a Remote USB Unlock to complete the process. This is common and, while it does require an additional fee, it's a reliable method to ensure your device gets unlocked properly.
You’ve already made substantial progress and it’s unfortunate this extra step is required, but it's detailed in our terms:
> “An Android device is only able to be unlocked via a code if the device asks for an unlock code when an incompatible sim card is placed in the device. If your handset doesn't ask for an unlock code prior to payment, then we will not be able to unlock the device but still incur submission costs and you will instead have to use a Remote USB unlock at additional cost.”
To resolve this, please consider proceeding with the Remote USB Unlock. This should ensure your phone is unlocked and ready for use with other networks.

I wanted to unlock my old Samsung and it was pretty straightforward. The eligibility check however was a surprise. I had to pay twice. So it done within an hour but was expensive for me.
