The overall reputation of the company is significantly tarnished by customer dissatisfaction, primarily due to high subscription costs and poor service quality. Customers frequently express frustration with the app's navigation, excessive advertisements, and limited content availability, particularly regarding language options and image quality. Additionally, complaints about customer service highlight issues with billing practices and a lack of timely support. While some users appreciate select programming, the prevailing sentiment suggests that many feel the service does not deliver value for money, leading to a strong inclination to cancel subscriptions.

Bell Media does not give one flying f#ck about you or your problem! They took my $25/mo total with ease, but can't deliver anything and won't return my money!
DO NOT GET CRAVE CANADA! I purchased the $22 package ( hbo add on). Just this year I've been booted out of my account and my watch list wipes and I have to reactive crave on my ps4. This has happened 6 times this year. 6. Netflix, Disney plus, Amazon has NEVER done this to me. Ever. I call and complain and they have made me do everything under the sun even trying to make me wipe my whole ps4 and redownload everything. So after my call today they said it happens every couple of months for security and something you'll just have to do. Do you think I'm stupid and can't detected fraudulent activity on my own account? This company and its software is a joke. Had an easier time streaming back in 2010. I promise you, if you get crave, well I have to say is good luck. Crave you're a joke and I hope you see this, DUST!
The worst part about the new streaming trend is how you have no choice but to pay for a service if there is a specific show/movie you want to watch. THIS means that there is no incentive for billion dollar business to actually put any effort into making their platforms actually useable.
Cravetv, the only way to watch HBO programs in Canada, is awful and full of bugs. Near daily need to log back in. Videos constantly buffer, and good luck if you are hard of hearing, because closed captions? You are out of luck. If they exist at all they are choppy and delayed, sometimes up to 5 seconds behind. Watching some series, every other episode has no cations at all.
There is no reason a billion dollar corporation can not make their platform fit the BAREST standard, considering the hundreds of dollars a year they get from each subscription.
Takes forever to activate a new device, even when your device list is almost empty. You repeat, and repeat, and repeat endlessly the same step, expecting a different result every time. The classic definition of insanity, oh boy. Years had gone by, and you read the same reviews with the same problems, unbelievable!
Can't watch any shows in full. Glitches/buffering non-stop. It's not my internet-I don't have no issues with PRIME here
The app itself is terrible, with tons of stability issues. I have the crave app on 5 different devices, 2 android boxes, 2 windows PC's, and a smart TV. It doesn't work at all on android, 1/2 the time on the tv but even then it logs out frequently and has constant login problems, overall not to bad on the pc's.
But content is few and far between, it has SOME great shows, the occasional good movie, but hardly worth paying the monthly for. It was VASTLY superior before Bell got their hands on it and rebranded to CRAVE. I hope it gets gobbled up by Netflix, prime, or Canada allows in HULU without bell being involved and it can pickup what CRAVE has on it currently.
You buy the basic plan on CraveTV and when you start watching a tv show you cannot finish it as the last couple of seasons are not available unless you pay more "ad-on's" and then when you call and complain, it is clear in the terms and conditions that they do not reimburse your money. So, they don't clearly tell you that you will not be able to finish some series and then they do not give you your money back when you realize that you paid for something you didn't want. This is a trap for the customer. DONT FALL FOR IT!
It drives me crazy! I can't watch a regular episode without been disconnected, of have to sign over and over, or simply does not work. SOS Please!
I signed up for their free trial 3 months ago. There was nothing I wanted to watch on there I don't even think I watched one thing. I canceled it directly after the trial because I didn't realize my free trial was up. I then contacted them to ask for a refund since it had only been a day or two. I never received a reply. I just checked my credit card a couple days ago and realized I had been charged for 3 months. I figured they'd be similar to Amazon, a similar thing happened with them and they saw that I didn't use the service and refunded my money right away with no questions asked. It's not the case for crave. They couldn't find my cancellation and said that their policy doesn't offer refunds because, I'm assuming, once they have your money they don't give a $#*! about you. I've been in contact with them for 2 days and they're being very vague and not properly answering my questions. Very $#*!ty. I get it that it must have been my mistake for not double checking but seriously being charged for 3 months when I wanted to cancel my subscription after the free trial, I'm sure they monitor your account and can see that there wasn't any login attempts since that first free trial and that should tell them glaringly that I didn't want the service.
$#*! these guys.
I canceled my subscription within the first two weeks because of the lack of content that could be found on other platforms. So imagine my surprise when it still renewed and charged my account, their "support team" was useless and just kept repeating that its up to the customer that the subscription is canceled before the renewal date and they don't do refunds, despite the fact I had canceled it two weeks prior. Don't waste your money. It ain't worth it.
Crave is riding on a couple of good shows. But the app is terrible. Way too glitchy. Doesn't work with a lot of smart TVs. Second time I tried but it cut in and out all the time. $20? More expensive than Netflix? I deleted Crave again.
I was very happy with Crave's tv and movie selection until I was unable to finish the series I was actively watching. In order to continue watching the program, I am forced to pay to upgrade while already paying for Crave's regular version. It's one thing to offer an upgraded version with a bigger and better selection that is more costly, it's a business thing, I get it. Unfortunately however, watching a season and having the remaining episodes locked until further payment for Crave "STARZ", the upgraded version, is really unfair. This is a silly and cheap attempt at tricking us into upgrading after luring us in with a show we're enjoying. I will not be paying to upgrade and may give up Crave altogether to avoid future disappointment.
The content is good but never able to watch it, Crave is constantly down, try to sign in and get kick out, i have to authorize my divices every time I want to sign in. Terrible terrible service... tech support terrible also.
Barely plays anything and when it does, it frequently freezes. The PS4 app is basically unusable: extreme input delay with a poor interface, there is no option for subtitles, you can't seek through the video, many interface bugs where pieces of UI will get stuck on the screen and "next episode starts in Nan (not a number)". Did a four year old program this? Honestly who allowed this? This is a joke.
And don't even get me started on how much you pay for very little content. Regular price comes to nearly $300 a year, or $30 monthly. That is insane. I bought the black Friday one year deal, what a mistake. I won't be renewing.
DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY. Do yourself a favour and learn how to torrent whatever content it is you're looking for.
Got a yeaar subsriptions... couldnt get anything to play through Firefox. Immediately cancelled my subscription but was informed via email no refund! Stay away from these scammers!
Customer service is so bad. They are so incompetent at solving the most basic issues. Is owned by bell media. That explains it all
On paper crave sounds like a legitimate competitor or complimentary streaming service to others. In practice it's lackluster in every way.
Resolution is limited to 720p and 1080p (with select apps) - fine for older TV shows, unacceptable for anything released in the last sever years.
Bitrate is low in addition to low resolution the overall bitrate of streams is also lacking and results in digital artifacts and banding in dark scenes.
Does not support Dolby atmos or object based audio
No HDR
Awful UI with content fighting over several different subscription packages
Deprecated app on older devices which only allows partial content. Older smart TV official crave app does not support the addon packages such as hbo, showcase, starz, etc
Pricing is absurd for the low effort they put into this service
Crave buying streaming rights to HBO max content only to cut up content, paywall further and still not releasing movies on the same day as hbo max.
Absolute awful viewing experience compared to the services such as Netflix, prime, and Disney plus.
Do not support them. Go elsewhere, and find other means to watch exusive content in higher quality.
Cravetv in one word: sucks
The content that is available with just crave subscription is not great - I spent many hours TRYING to find anything to watch just to utilize my subscription.
You have to get add-ons (extra charge) to get anything remotely decent to watch.
A lot of content is outdated and so are their policies (they are owned by Bell and IT SHOWS). They are difficult to work with and not very helpful either.
Stick to netflix, or amazon prime. Significantly superior content, great interface and customer service.
I got a $100 gift card for Crave at Christmas. I had to call them twice to honour the gift and am now getting menacing emails that they can't process my payment, even though my gift card is good until mid April. Unlike Netflix, I had to sign in each time to stream and still got kicked out several times. Their platform is clunky and not user friendly. But, worst of all, I can no longer access it through Roku, which worked fine for two months. For over a month, Crave has been unable to fix the issue. Each tech staff is nice but has no technical skills, referring back to another tech person and telling me they'll call back the next day, then calling again and when I ask a question, they say they will get back to me tomorrow. Truthfully, it's been the same story for weeks. It's the saddest service imaginable. I will now move to trying to get a rebate back... Canadians deserve better!
Answer: I would not recommend getting CraveTV. Their customer support and technical support as well as quality is not upto the mark to compete with other service providers.
Answer: Because they only offer the absolute bare minimum for a streaming service, I suspect the ONLY reason it has lots of subscribers because crave seems to offer more rare shows, but for a bigger price mind you.
Answer: Not unless you want to rip all your hair out. Crave has serious streaming problems and mostly you cannot watch it. And if you can the sound is all tinny and canny.
Answer: Absolutely agreed. 100%. Also, they have the worst customer service I have ever experienced. Never give your payment information to ANY Bell Media company, because they will screw you. Contact the BBB to make a complaint.
Answer: You can't! In the settings online, there is an option, but it doesn't carry over to whatever streaming device you're using it with. Incompetent morons, owned and operated by Canada's leading internet service provider. And Bell Media wonder why people don't like them. My sister has a theory... that Bell keeps their website design backward and out of sync with current progress, so they have an excuse to charge you extra money for their incompetence.
