Biscuits were so small and hard with the gravy tasting like paste and I choked on it. Sausage was so greasy you couldn't eat it. Sweet tea tasted old and watered down. This was at 11:00 AM in the morning before the lunch/church crowd.
I went to eat with my 80 year old grandparents with my husband and son. The service was great as usual. We usually go every other weekend with the family to this same Cracker Barrel. My grandmother got a new gift card for her 80th birthday this last weekend and wanted to use it for lunch. The lady who checked us out was non other than a bully to my 80 year old grandparents. She was a blonde, older cashier. She gave us the wrong information on how they could redeem the gift card. Then while waiting for the manager, Patty to assist, my grandfather said it was "ok and we would wait, no problem." The cashiers response to them was, "yeah, today you don't have a problem waiting." After Patty the manager came over she was very helpful and we ended up paying in cash. The cashiers response to my grandfather giving cash was, "oh and now you need change." I'm appalled by the customer service that this cashier gave to not only my family but the elderly in general. I will NEVER be returning. And I warn whoever goes there about the costumer service they may receive from this lady.
We went for dinner on the 6th of March. When we were seated, the place was under construction. It was cold and rainy, but there was no fire in the fireplace. It took a very long time to get a waitress. We ordered drinks and sat there quite a while before we got them. I asked the waitress if everything was OK and she said there was only 2 grill cooks, but we didn't order anything grilled. My food was cold and several items were left off of my order. By the time I got my tea, I was pretty well through eating. The waitress was friendly but it didn't make up for slow service and cold food.
Everytime we eat at this store, something happens. The first time, we ordered our food and never saw the waitress again. Other people were seated, ordered, ate, and left. Pretty crummy.
Another time, we ordered drinks, and that was all we got. Our waitress was spending all of her time with a family in the back. People came in, ordered, ate, and left. I paid for a hot chocolate and a tea and we left in anger. I never want to go to this store again.
It's hard to say this because we are not complainers.
This was disgusting the bacon was raw the crazy had burnt scraps in it and the pancakes are just dry and the chocolate chips were all in the bottom at the same spot absolutely horrible
Ordered meatloaf it was burnt mash potatoes were cold and carrots were bland. This was in Robinson Pa. St Clairsville ohio much better food.
We went to crackers barrel in nampa yesterday and ate everyone that had dumplings got sick. We waited over an hour for our food service was terrible. So I called this morning to tell them what happened and all they said was sorry. Will never go there again.
The staff treat customers poorly in addition to the staff not knowing how their own app works. I was hung up on twice when trying to get a problem resolved.
Snotty. Unfriendly hostess. Gave us breakfast menus, it was 11 o'clock n we asked for lunch menus, she would not give them to us. We waited 15 minutes to be waited on and had to ask the server for lunch menus, he finally brought us 1. After ordering, we found out that they no longer offer carrots and several menu items. It took 30 minutes for our meal to get there. Service was bad, new menu is nothing like it used to be. We won't be going back
We stop in Florida City, Fl we ordered 4 piece fried chicken is was so dry wife I I couldn't even chew it. Sides were Mac n cheese with bacon on it not sure what came out on top but it was horrible tasting. The other side was cheesy hash browns that was cold and in cooked. We well never go to Cracker Barrel again they used to be very good
Spent 80 yes 80 for basically nothing at Cracker Barrel through Uber Eats and the worst I ever had. Charge 7 for little tiny piece of dried out cake. The dumplings were so dry and stuck together. Soup spilled in bag and peach cobbler was just peaches. Portion were so small. Sad to see this restaurant go down the tube.
We went to this location for lunch on 6/30/2024. Another customer had their PET dog with them at the table. This was not a service dog - this was a pet! This was a standard poodle not wearing any type of service saddle or vest. This pet was being fed food from the table with it's head on the table. At one point, the dog became restless and began to bark. The restaurant manager that I spoke with did not care and says they allow dogs inside the restaurant at the table. I also contacted corporate about this and the same response was given. So, if you like to take your pet out for dinner, this is your place! Don't pay any attention to the county health department ordinance banning pets in any restaurant - bring your pet and enjoy!
Now that Cracker Barrel does not include a spoon with the provided table utensils, it is kind of important that when the customer orders a beverage (coffee, tea, etc.) that will require an additive (sugar, cream, etc.) a spoon should accompany that beverage. Server training, attention to detail.
Waited over 20min to pay for food that was fair. One cashier when we got in line. The line was five people deep. Second cashier shows up and started checking out folks behind us (UNACCEPTABLE). Called for a manager, but he wasn't sure how to deal with the situation at first. After a few minute discussion, the manager agreed the cashier was wrong. However, the cashier insisted she wasn't wrong and there wasn't a problem. HORRIBLE customer relations.
Biscuits were hard as rocks, even butter and microwave didn't help! Loaded baked potato had unrecognizable meat and everything was cold as ice!
Mount Laurel NJ. Horrible experience from beginning to end. It's a crime the garbage they serve customers on Thanksgiving. Fake turkey roll pumped with sodium and who knows what else, disgusting stuffing I had to spit out, smashed green beans and mashed sweets (no way a casserole). Total incompetence from the start. No gravy. Greed & Mis management has taken over a favorite place. Horrible food, horrible service, I will never go back. I want my money back.
Always loved CB's Turkey dinner, but last night was the ultimate disappointment.
Small portion of turkey (looked old and reheated), ice cold stiff mashed potatoes, no stuffing. It was TERRIBLE. The best thing about our experience was the sweet and courteous server.
We used to pay $8.99 for this Thursday special. It is now $14.99.
We won't be going back anytime soon. Truly a shame as it used to be so good.
Take out order for sampler platter of ham, meatloaf and chicken and dumplings plus sides. Arrived at my house and put food on plate. I started to eat only to find a cockroach in the chicken and dumplings. Cracker Barrel manager apologized and started that they try to avoid things like this. Gave me a credit. Store is located in Greenville NC. Wonder what the health department will say about this?
I am so sad. My favorite on the road restaurant choice will no longer be Crackle Barrel. The removal of the fried catfish dinner from the menu is a real shame. They fried catfish better than any restaurant. Their recipe for pinto beans has changed in a horrible way. It looked and tasted like they added ketchup to them, not southern. All of this added to the fact that service is slow to non-existent service from ordering, food arrival, refills of drink, any needs such as sauces, take out boxes check to be able to leave, takes for ever or has to be run down in person from the back.
This is not just a one time experience it has been happened for over a couple of years. If they can not do a good job then it would be better for them to close all together. For me I will not be returning.
We ordered three thanksgiving turkey meals (take out) on Thanksgiving. We received one piece of turkey ( the website photo showed three large portions of turkey). Runny sweet potatoes, runny dressing, green beans, a dinner roll and the worse pumpkin pie I have ever had.
These dinners cost ~$50.00 plus we purchased a $12.99 apple pie.
I want to add when we went inside the restaurant to pay for the dinners and the pie there was a man working behind the register that had body order so bad I thought I was going to vomit. He was about 45 and had long greasy hair and his jeans were so low you could see at least 4 inches of his butt crack. Why on earth would they allow someone to work with customers looking and smelling that bad?
We complained about our dinners to Customer Service and never heard back.
My wife and I drove an hour to eat at the Herculaneum location. We come here every so often and typically have great service, especially when Joe is our server. Today we sat at table 142 with Katrina B. As our server. She made contact with us twice, and we sat for well over 15 minutes without a refill. At one point I asked for creamer for my coffee, in which seemed to inconvenience her. During the approximate 45 minutes that we were seated, we were spoken to twice by Katrina. Katrina stopped and checked in with a nearby table in front of us at least 7 times without checking on us or others beside and behind us. The table directly in front of us appeared to be a friend of hers as she stopped to talk with her several times. After requesting our ticket to pay and leave before our food was served by another employee, Katrina approached us, laughed and simply stated "have a great day" before walking off.
Answer: Because you trying to be "chic" or shift your consumer base to a younger clientele. Cracker Barrel now appeals to an older customer base. To be successful in decades to come, CB needs younger customers who may not be OK with gravy and biscuits. That's why you will see vegetable sausage, kale salads, etc. at Cracker Barrel. The strategy might work if you had 50 years to make the transition. But your present here-and-now customer (older folks) probably won't hang in with it after you remove their favorites (country ham, fried chicken, apple pie, "and all the butter, Jam and biscuits you care to eat."
Answer: Golden corral, Grandpa's, IHOP. They're at least the customers are paid partial attention& needs meet without a production.
Answer: Have eaten there many times before and in the past have really enjoyed the food.
