The overall reputation of Cracker Barrel appears to be declining, with numerous customers expressing dissatisfaction primarily due to food quality and service issues. While some patrons appreciate the friendly staff, many report poor meal experiences, including undercooked or unappetizing dishes and long wait times. Complaints about customer service also highlight a lack of responsiveness and inadequate problem resolution. Additionally, concerns regarding cleanliness and health standards have surfaced. Despite a history of positive experiences, the prevailing sentiment suggests that without significant improvements in food quality and service, customer loyalty may wane.

You have lost ANY AND ALL ORIGINALITY. ALLLL of your older customers will show you in the coming weeks just how badly you screwed up with that TWUNT as a CEO!
The changes they are making to this restaurant is ridiculous! It's been going down hill for a few years now but my last experience was disgusting! I won't be back!
I have no idea what you people are doing. But after church cracker barrel was high on our list of coices for Sunday Dinner. Now, I dont know who you people are over there, but we will not be returning unil you put that old man and his barrel back and dont you dare try to urbanize tghe menue. Thei s Country eating for COuntry people. Take your Kale and return it to NEW York or LA or somewhere.
First warning flag was seeing disheveled employees socializing behind the building. The second albeit minor flag was a teen waitstaff. But, twenty percent of restaurants can meet these criteria. Walking into the restroom was like visiting a public toilet in Peru, Guatemala. Overpowering moldy, urine, fecal smell; not new but deeply ingrained. Floor glazed with moisture but not standing water, urine puddles under filthy urinals. The door itself was filthy, rusted. The swampy atmosphere had corroded, rusted fixtures like stalls, plates. What a sad outcome for a once-proud franchise. It's Chattanooga location was a favorite 30 years ago, when I flew airline trips to the city. I loved the one south of Fort Worth. If the chain has more than 10% of its locations akin to this one, the brand is doomed.
If you're thinking of trying the campfire steak think twice. The steak had so much gristle that you couldn't eat it. It comes with 2 small potatoes and one ear of corn in two pieces which is not all cooked together. This meal doesn't compare to the beef and chicken campfires. This is a waste of money.
Go to this restaurant all the time. Usually really good. Today my family was there from 3:50 to 5:15 pm. We really was trying to get a early supper, then had to take granddaughter to VBS. When food came out, my husband's hash browns were sitting in a pool of grease, which he says were nasty. His over easy eggs were cold. My dad got baked potato with rainbow trout. His potato was so cold, butter would not melt and he says it was hard. We were very disappointed today.
Fist of all, we had to wait 15 mins to even get a drink. That should of been our first sign to just get up and leave. The summertime beef/chicken they have. I literally got 7 pieces of meat, 2 potatoes and 5 carrots. Definitely not worth $16.99. With the limited meal they should include a pick of two sides. If you get placed in Danyel section, please ask to have another server. She is horrible. This was probably the worst dining experience i've had at cracker barrel. I won't be going back for a long while.
We used to go every Friday for the fish dinner. It was so good and always more than you could eat and at a pretty reasonable price. We haven't been in a while and after today, probably won't go again. The fish was dried out and more breading than fish. The baked potato was burned up and dry. The fried okra was so tough I couldn't chew it and the biscuit was old. My butter and sour cream had gnats walking on it and waitress never ca. E back to refill my tea. Everything looked old and stale and the worst was yet to come. The bill for two dinners, one iced tea and a water was 48 dollars and change. We won't be back. Do yourself a favor and go to Long John Silver then at least if the food is bad, the price wasted is a lot less.
My family and I when there for lunch on 6-5-25 we way 30 minutes to get set and it wasn't busy at all, when we got to the table the manager cleaned with a dry towel and the table was very dirty I see my son together some wipe from the truck to clean it, I got the beef campfire and I only got 5 burn pieces of beef and my youngest son cheese burger they meat was burn and the buns they was hard to eat, he didn't bothered on eat anything because he didn't like it, the waiter did her best, but the cashier when we when to paid was horrible with his attitude. I never will got there again.
I am cracker barrel regular customer but the service at the Conway location tonight was horrible the waiter messed up my order tonight and when I called him on it I was told it came with what he brought me but I looked it up on the site and it didn't mention it and he insisted it came with it he finally brought what I asked for and didn't charge me for the extra food but it was the aggravating situation of it this is the second time he has done it. I avoid this waiter over this. The name of this waiter is justice.
We used to love eating at Cracker Barrel but anymore NOT, WILL NEVER EAT AT ANY OF THEM AGAIN! The bag bacon crumbles are all of the scraps that go in the trash, NOTHING BUT HUNKS OF FAT AND SMOTHER WHATEVER THEY'RE USED ON SMOTHERED IN GREASE (DRIPPING). This is a cheap and lazy way of serving their customers. Another way to shave a buck at the expense of quality! Even the fast food joints know better than to use this kind of slop for their dishes. The people who established this restaurant would have NEVER LET THIS HAPPEN, BUT THIS IS WHAT YOU GET WHEN CORPORATE GET INVOLVED AND TAKES OVER, anything to save a nickel, even though their losing customers and ratings! 1.5 stars (REALLY) that's a lot of their places and NOT 1 over 3.5 stars STUPID IS AS STUPID DOES! KEEP BEING STUPID AND YOU'LL GO COMPLETELY BROKE, A WASHED UP HAS BEEN. These pics are of my hashbrown casserole from the Crackers Barrel in Pensacola FL. I called the one in Rockwall TX they all use this pig slop from what I'm told. I never heard back from corporate after I sent these photos to them, (CRICKETS).
We had to wait an hour to get a table like an hour to get the food when the food got that and it's cold the gravy was like it wasn't gravy and it was thick the silverware was disgusting when we got them they wasn't cleaned at all they charged us weird the one goes up twice the amount we got the gravy was like jello
If I could have given this place a zero I would have. There were 3 of us. We arrived at 10:04. Our breakfast didn't come out until 11:27. There were full parties of ppl around us getting their meals first. The waiter dropped hot coffee on my leg, so I left with sticky pants and a slight burn. They only took my meal off for this oversight. The waiter was terrible and argued with me about the bill because he took too long to bring me the white gravy that should have come with my country fried steak. I couldn't eat it because it was cold. The eggs weren't cooked right. He said the steak couldn't be cooked above medium. This was a disaster. I do not recommend and if this burn gets any bigger from the coffee the waiter spilled on my leg, there will be a court date. The whole meal should have been taken care of. I need corporate office to contact me.
Ordered fried cod. Under cooked and no flavor. Also ordered the fried shrimp. 1/2# of really bad shrimp. Not sure there was any shrimp
Wait 20 minutes for table, 15 minutes to place order, another 20 minutes for food that is wrong.Asked for biscuits while waiting they charged extra Kitchen manager was rude and refused to adjust bill. Luckily the retail manager heard the whole conversation and offered to make it right I will never return to this Cracker Barrel and recommend you stay away too!
I went to eat with my 80 year old grandparents with my husband and son. The service was great as usual. We usually go every other weekend with the family to this same Cracker Barrel. My grandmother got a new gift card for her 80th birthday this last weekend and wanted to use it for lunch. The lady who checked us out was non other than a bully to my 80 year old grandparents. She was a blonde, older cashier. She gave us the wrong information on how they could redeem the gift card. Then while waiting for the manager, Patty to assist, my grandfather said it was "ok and we would wait, no problem." The cashiers response to them was, "yeah, today you don't have a problem waiting." After Patty the manager came over she was very helpful and we ended up paying in cash. The cashiers response to my grandfather giving cash was, "oh and now you need change." I'm appalled by the customer service that this cashier gave to not only my family but the elderly in general. I will NEVER be returning. And I warn whoever goes there about the costumer service they may receive from this lady.
Overall the food is pretty good if you can get a server that pays attention to your order, I waited 45 minutes for scrambled eggs and toast. The prices there have gone ridiculously high, and the service has gone ridiculously down hill.
Terrible service. We waited for over half an hour before being served, and the waiter told us our dishes had been sent to another table. When they finally got it right and brought our food to us, it was cold. This is the second complaint I'm making about this location in Brighton, Michigan. After the first complaint, I was sent a voucher for a free meal, which I had no interest in using. Message to customer service: please do not send me another voucher to try and make up for the poor service. Save it for customers who are willing to return — because I won't be coming back.
Biscuits were so small and hard with the gravy tasting like paste and I choked on it. Sausage was so greasy you couldn't eat it. Sweet tea tasted old and watered down. This was at 11:00 AM in the morning before the lunch/church crowd.
Absolutely the wort customer service! After speaking to Ashley the store manager I had made a grave mistake. I recently had spinal surgery and not able to drive. I ordered through door dash. Door dash did their part, they delivered the order. The problem is that items were left out of the order. The receipt that I have attached shows that all items were checked off. Not true. Store manager claims she is helpless. I chatted with two different associates and they only wanted to throw "comp" meal. I never asked for that. I also emailed and Bertha responded stating that she can't give a refund. I NEVER asked for a refund she apparently just assumes that will pacify me. Not true. Due to all this mess I will no longer dine with cracker barrel. It's not worth the stress.
Answer: Because you trying to be "chic" or shift your consumer base to a younger clientele. Cracker Barrel now appeals to an older customer base. To be successful in decades to come, CB needs younger customers who may not be OK with gravy and biscuits. That's why you will see vegetable sausage, kale salads, etc. at Cracker Barrel. The strategy might work if you had 50 years to make the transition. But your present here-and-now customer (older folks) probably won't hang in with it after you remove their favorites (country ham, fried chicken, apple pie, "and all the butter, Jam and biscuits you care to eat."
Answer: Golden corral, Grandpa's, IHOP. They're at least the customers are paid partial attention& needs meet without a production.
Answer: Because my husband was hungry and it wasn't nothing else closer to us.
