My wife and I drove an hour to eat at the Herculaneum location. We come here every so often and typically have great service, especially when Joe is our server. Today we sat at table 142 with Katrina B. As our server. She made contact with us twice, and we sat for well over 15 minutes without a refill. At one point I asked for creamer for my coffee, in which seemed to inconvenience her. During the approximate 45 minutes that we were seated, we were spoken to twice by Katrina. Katrina stopped and checked in with a nearby table in front of us at least 7 times without checking on us or others beside and behind us. The table directly in front of us appeared to be a friend of hers as she stopped to talk with her several times. After requesting our ticket to pay and leave before our food was served by another employee, Katrina approached us, laughed and simply stated "have a great day" before walking off.
I was so very disappointed when my grandson and I went to Cracker Barrel in Cookeville, Tenn on 8-31-2024. We went around 2 P.M. and apparently they were getting rid of their leftover breakfast items and lunch items. My grandson got pancakes which are normally delicious, but these I believe had been under a heat lamp because they were terrible. They did not even look good. I got chicken strips and they were so hard I could hardly cut them with a knife. They looked like pieces of scrap chicken that they battered and dropped in hot oil. My fries were soggy and my coleslaw tasted soured. I have always liked Cracker Barrel but this meal was terrible and at a cost of around 30.00. I did not say anything to the waitress but I should have asked to speak to the manager. I did not. If they keep serviing meals like this they will not be open much longer. I don't want to get anyone in trouble but that was terrible to even serve to anyone. I do have my receipt, it just says at the top Cracker Barrel, CB0015, Cookeville, TN.
Cracker Barrel's new menu is a real disappointment. Gone are several of the previous menu items, turkey sausage is now chicken sausage, with an up charge of $1.00 per link. Gone is the eggs in a basket menu offering. Service has slowed to almost no service at all in the three locations I visit. Well…. Good by and best of luck.
Family restaurant?! Ha. Disgruntled family maybe. My entire visit was sparkling. I remember more of the overly obnoxious loud lady managers laughing& parading around having conversations of how incompetent the men are, while, the wait staff is either holding the walls up or running around half paying attention blaming the cooks or other servers for bringing us the wrong orders. But it's all fun & games for your management team in the back as you can hear cleary through the entire restaurant. Maybe take a break from worrying about their appearance, joking around& complaining about each other in customer ear shot. I've been to several cracker barrels& never thought negatively until we came to Kingman, AZ. JUST DRIVE TO VEGAS! You'll actually be treated like a paying customer instead of a inconvenience that carries a wallet.
Like some food items but they are hit and miss. One problem is food not getting to you hot. The plates should at least be room temp or preheated before adding hot food to them. Over the years some of my favorite items get deleted from the menu. Red eye gravy, etc. etc. The white biscuit gravy is tasteless. Bill ends up too high, seen some sneak in add ons thought came with the meals. Small cup of coffee was over $3. Was very watered down. Looked like herbal tea. Portions should be smaller for this and other reasons. Such as you can not reheat doggie bag, eggs or fish a second time. Nice look inside but inconsistent food quality.
My family and I with a newborn eat at Cracker Barrel in Cumming, Georgia today it took them one hour and 52 minutes to serve our food we had appetizers that was served. 40 minutes late. Food was mediocre now the waitress was very good but the cook staff.needs to be replaced very unprofessional if you can't move people quicker than this, you don't even need to have your doors open and they probably wet and 30 customers seat but it really don't matter because I will never go back
We stopped at the CB in Dalton, GA, where we formerly lived, and dined at the CB a couple of times per month for decades. Did not recognize the menu. Wife ordered pecan pancakes; it took 35 minutes and the place was empty (I can now understand why). When my breakfast and her pancakes finally arrived, the pancakes were soggy and dripping grease. Se refused to eat them and they tried again. Only marginally better, but still inedible. How do you screw up pancakes? Pancakes came with my breakfast and they were only a little better, but not good. Server wa apologetic, removed charge for pancakes. Cracker Barrel is off our list, permanently.
I keep going back in hopes it will get better. Not enough weight staff results in delayed service, to the point I see customers get up and leave before their order is taken/served. Extended seated times, when the dining room is 1/2 full at best. Constantly out of select food items. And the last straw, being served food that was frozen solid in the center. OMG! We customers work too hard for our pay, to trade it for treatment like this.
Never again. U failed. Me cracker barrel. Ur foods gone down hill. 40. Down the drain to give to the dog who turned his nose up. Tells. U something. Had to pull apart. It's in a big. Lump. Hash browns were soggy and delivery. Driver. Made a mess by tossing it on front porch
My husband and I ate at the Cracker Barrel in Concord, near Concord Mills today ( N C). Waited 15 minutes for someone to take our order, then it took 1 1/4 hrs to get our food. Food was delicious. Waitress worked herself crazy taking orders, bringing food out and also cleaning off tables. Obviously very short staffed. It was mentioned that both the cooks took their break at the same time. Have never waited this long for food anywhere.
Went to the local Cracker Barrel today and ordered the French toast. It was fast service but I knew why when I got the food. It was barely cooked. I'm not sure how you can screw up French toast but they did. Also had to wait for a table abs when we were finally seated there were many empty tables but no one to bust them, like everywhere else they are short staffed. Will not go back.
I stopped going to Crackle Barrel a few years back because they changed their menu and stopped making the best steak fries. Their lunch sandwich selection went from great to fair because they dropped many of their tried and true selections like the roasted turkey sandwich. Because they offered a nice menu their customer base was diversified. There were both young and old enjoying their meals. I used to take the grandkids now they want nothing to do with it. When you go in looks like a retirement home and the food is the worst ever. After many years I went back the other day and found a lunch menu with just two sandwich selections. Are you kidding me! They better change their ways or face bankruptcy. I'll never go back.
I have 2 worthless gift cards from them. Never used, according to the language on the back of the cards, they do not expire. Went to use them, cashier said they were inactive but to call the 800# on the back and the company would issue new ones. Did so, got an automated system that sends you in circles, as does their website. Their service and food used to be outstanding, now is it absolute crap. Go to a local diner, you will be better off.
Just left cracker barrel after 35 minute wait time. Absolutely ridiculous. The shopping area was packed with people waiting. Half the restaurant was totally empty. Bad bad management on their part. Skip this one!
It's a public restaurant, obviously everyone knew they were welcome to spend their money there. You didn't need to go make a pride statement, it was a moot point. Now you've alienated one group just so another group doesn't feel alienated. Idiots. Should have left well enough alone. Just be a regular restaurant, not an aspiring politically correct one.
Keep away from this place.!
This place has gone way downhill took about 45 minutes to get our breakfast eggs had half of the egg shells in it the hash brown had a plastic string mixed in it, also the ham was tough and hard like jerky I showed the manager that I could snap the ham like hard plastic there was also a black hair on the biscuit's disgusting to say the least after complaining the manager never said sorry just made excuses and offered to remake the food we already wasted an hour no we don't recommend this cracker barrel service and food is horrible and forget about contacting corporate all you get is a voicemail with no return call we left several messages not one return call this is not good for customer service if you look at other reviews most have the same pre written response this doesn't say much about cracker barrel that they can't return a phone call do yourself a favor and eat somewhere else so you don't get sick from the filth see attached pictures

I would have rated lower but it won't let me. I have been eating at cracker barrel every morning when my husband and I get off work for years. Today we went and took his mom and the service was so bad we will never eat there again. It's sad that a place like this has went so far off the tracks.
We travel a lot throughout Illinois and often stop at a Cracker Barrel when we can because the food, atmosphere, service and shopping is always the best. I LOVE the french toast and real maple syrup. My mother loves it too, so every year for Christmas I give her a gift card. She's always showing me what cute treasure she's found in the gift store. It's nice because she can either use it on her meal, or buy herself a gift. I wish someone would give me one!
The food we had on 7-13-22 was bland, no taste, mushy, and had an old grease taste.
We have never had this happen before, if it continues, that Cracker Barrel will have to close.
The server we had was friendly and helpful. These days eating out is so expensive, and bad food makes it even worse. I have already thrown my receipt away, it was for $63.58 on 7-14-22. The meals were, CB Sampler Plate, Catfish Plate, Grilled Chicken Salad, kids chicken tenders with mac/cheese.
I went to cracker barrel in baton rouge yesterday and I sent back my eggs because they where fried not scramble like I ask them to be they charge me 3.95 for some new eggs what a joke this place has been going down hill for many of years I will never go to cracker barrel again
Answer: Because you trying to be "chic" or shift your consumer base to a younger clientele. Cracker Barrel now appeals to an older customer base. To be successful in decades to come, CB needs younger customers who may not be OK with gravy and biscuits. That's why you will see vegetable sausage, kale salads, etc. at Cracker Barrel. The strategy might work if you had 50 years to make the transition. But your present here-and-now customer (older folks) probably won't hang in with it after you remove their favorites (country ham, fried chicken, apple pie, "and all the butter, Jam and biscuits you care to eat."
Answer: Golden corral, Grandpa's, IHOP. They're at least the customers are paid partial attention& needs meet without a production.
Answer: Have eaten there many times before and in the past have really enjoyed the food.
