SAY NO!
March 20, 2025

We just went to Cracker Barrel at exit 254 in round rock Texas. I asked for a third egg they indicated that it was $1.30, I said OK They came back and said it wasn't $1.30 it was 249 so I told them no I don't want the third egg because that translates to over $30 a dozen When they delivered breakfast, it had 3 eggs A girl came out and said that she would take it back, and I asked what she was going to do with it and she said she was going to take one egg off and I said what are you going to do with that egg and she said put it on another plate for someone Then the waiter came out and I told both of them wouldn't it be the easiest thing to do was to say we made a mistake with the third egg and they'll be no charge for it. Sorry about the inconvenience. But no these snowflakes and cupcakes said we will remake the whole plate And I said what sense does that make you're going to waste all of the food and my wife will have to sit here and eat her breakfast alone while I wait on mine. Based on the fiasco and the lack of any leadership between the servers and the manager who I spoke to, we simply said sorry we'll just go somewhere else, we got up to leave. As we got to the front door, a lady asked how our visit was and my wife indicated that it was pretty bad She asked why and we explained the fiasco and she said let me call the general manager. The general manager's name was JOOSEP VAIKSAAR He came out and introduced himself as the general manager and we explained the situation and he said well first off he has a server in the back that's crying. I'm thinking over what, an egg Our youth cannot handle a decision as to what to do with a plate and taking food off a plate from a customer and putting it on another customer's plate might be a violation of health code in the first- degree. More importantly, what does it say about any of the food that's coming from the kitchen that the servers would make that kind of a statement. Having had their general manager tell us that he was more concerned about their feelings than he was the fact that a customer had not been treated appropriately For some reason, he thought that it must be my responsibility to train their servers and their assistant managers, as opposed to being a customer who comes in, orders a meal, enjoys it and pays for it i'm not sure what he wanted me to do. Maybe it was to come in and build them a safe space in case anybody in the restaurant ever had a complaint. Anyway, now we know how cupcakes and snowflakes operate in this world without supervision they can't make a decision And when the general manager is more concerned about the waitress being upset with the customer, walking out the door and never coming back, any wonder why we have problems in this country and why the kids don't wanna work at a job in an office and can't deal with the fact that they don't know what to do with an extra egg? I apologize if I sound like a cupcake and complaining about this, but I suspect there are some people that will say this review is a crock of crap and there are others that will no longer go because they don't need this. Yes it is a crock of crap, no customer should be dealt with this, management had no idea how to solve the problem and when they were questioned, they got defensive stating You need to be respectful to me. I was respectful, I walked in the door. I ordered $30 worth of breakfast and I was served garbage treated badly and I walked out the door. What else does the restaurant expect me to do? What else does the restaurant expect of a paying customer? God help this country and God help these little entitled people. Times like these, we fully understand why the good Lord has a time limit on our life. We simply couldn't live with what's going to happen in the future

We were invisible!
December 20, 2022

The four of us met at the Cracker Barrel (store 1520 Linthicum) last month before we started our shopping day. We were pleasantly surprised when they called and said our table was ready 42 minutes into our advised hour wait and that's where the pleasant visit ended. The waitress took our drink order, came back with drinks, and disappeared after I asked for the breakfast menu. Another server dropped it off to me. We were starving but taking the slowness in stride as it was a busy Saturday 12:42pm. Approximately 1:12p our waitress returned to take our food order.
During the wait for our food, we kept noticing her facial expressions change and we could hear her being rude and short with other patrons. We joked and wondered what could've happened to cause the change in demeanor. The guy in our party needed sweetener for his coffee but it was ice cold by the time she returned so he asked for another cup of hot coffee. She wasn't too pleased at this request but who wants cold coffee on this particular cold morning? He received his coffee, but she moved away so quickly we didn't get a chance to ask where our food is and can we at least have a refill on our drinks.
At this point we all decided this is ridiculous and noticed a manager, a tall, white guy (Frank may have been his name) assisting the table behind us (all Caucasians). As he walked by us, we flagged him down and he said, I'll be right back (he never came back). We're looking at each other in complete disbelief at this point. It's now 1:46p and I went in search of 'Frank' or anybody else that can give us some information as to when we may get our food. I found Crystal (Caucasian) and she came over to us and we finally get someone to at least apologize for being treated the way we were.
She said 'Frank' is always receiving complaints from customers and he doesn't care. We're floored at this news. While giving Crystal an earful (because no one else would take the time) our food came. There was no apology for the wait from the server, no refills on our drinks, just sat the food down 2:15pm. We really wanted to leave but we had waited all this time and we're starving. 'Frank' still didn't return even though Crystal said she would go find him.
Crystal nor the waitress offered to take anything off the bill, refill our drinks or anything that would make us want to ever return to any Cracker Barrel. This was one of our all-time favorite places for breakfast but word to the wise and hungry, be very careful where you spend your money.
We grappled with to tip or not to tip because we eat out often and tipping is as important as paying for our meal. We were so disappointed, I said in all good conscience, I refused to leave one penny. We know the majority of the time, the delay is no fault of the server but this time, she played a gigantic part in this because she never apologized, gave a reason for the delays, nothing. You give nothing, you get nothing!

Poor Service
December 13, 2022

My sister and I decided to go to Cracker Barrel on Sunday, December 11,2022 for lunch. We drove to the Buckeye, AZ location and was seated in the appropriate. The waitress came over and asked what we wanted to drink and handed us the menus.

The waitress brought our drinks over and asked what we wanted to eat for lunch. My sister and I placed our orders and proceeded to start drinking our beverages. We just moved here from Georgia and had found since this was our second time to this location that their processes were a little different. The first time we came was on Thanksgiving Day for lunch and found that the manager was not as customer service conscious as the ones in Georgia. For instance, I do not like sweet potatoes and wanted to switch the item on my turkey lunch to one that was more likable to me (maybe, cole slaw). The manager stated that at his store, they do not switch items around since it can become time consuming. However, when I went to the Kennesaw location in Georgia, that I have been doing for almost 20 years, it was never a problem. I did not say much at the time, but thought the manager's ruling was questionable.

After waiting for almost an hour for our food, I asked the waitress, Beth, if we could get some biscuits since we were hungry. She stated that they were about to come out of the oven in two minutes and would bring them to us at that time. About ten minutes passed and no biscuits. My sister stated to the manager that we had been waiting for a long time and could he help us out. During this time period, the waitress made sure the table next to us was waited on and checked out – not us. The manager in turn started yelling at us and was shocked since we are senior citizens and had not caused no problems at that time. In turn my sister stated loudly to the manager that we were hungry and was diabetic – he did not care. My sister and I got up from the table and asked if we should pay for our beverages and the manager said "NO" loudly so the entire restaurant could hear. We left the restaurant and went to Burger King instead to eat since we were very hungry. This is elder abuse and very unprofessional for both the manager and the waitress. We want some sort of accommodations for what Cracker Barrel put us through.

NO THANKS TO CRACKER BARREL ON THANKSGIVING DAY!
November 24, 2022

I placed an order for Thanksgiving Dinner the day before on the 23rd, 2022 at 7:32pm for pickup on Thanksgiving Day at 3:15pm. I specifically requested to pick up in store because I wanted to shop inside for some Christmas items. I arrived early so I could look around the store, but the curbside pickup was backed out and down the street, so it took longer to park. I went in at 3:11pm and asked the cashier if she could get my order. She said no that I would have to go out and get in the curbside pickup line. I told her to look at my order, that I had specifically requested to pick up inside. She said that didn't matter, the Regional Manager was here today and said that there were no pickups inside and that everyone had to go through the curbside pickup line. I responded that I had specifically requested to pick up inside and was sold my meal based on this. She said no, I can't do that. I asked for a refund and as I left another gentleman said to me that he and his wife had to wait for 2 hours in the curbside line for pickup and now he had to come inside because his order was wrong! My wife was visiting our children in Nashville TN, so we decided to both order pickup dinner at Cracker Barrel and bring it home so we could Zoom and have Thanksgiving dinner together. Well, fortunately she had no problem at her Cracker Barrel in Nashville, but I had to stop at a gas station and pick up a Turkey sandwich, 2 cheese sticks, a pack of peanut butter and crackers to eat for Thanksgiving. I am 74 years old, and I have been eating at Cracker Barrel for over 50 years since I lived in Lebanon TN. BUT NEVER AGAIN WILL I STEP FOOT IN A CRACKER BARREL! They are no longer the Cracker Barrel that Dan Evins established back in 1969 in Lebanon TN. I'm sure that he would be appalled!
