One of the absolute worst experiences I have ever had with a company transporting a pet!
Beth - ASPCA will know how badly your treated chloé!
She arrived 10 days later, malnourished, sick with a cold and stomach - She had to go on antibiotics. You dropped her off with a crate not even containing a wee pad at 4am!
She was full of urine!
You left her without enough food
Barely communicated and lied about your whereabouts everyday to both the breeder and myself
You endangered her well being not to mention how skiddish she is as a result of that experience under your care!
I was told"- " Wait my Turn"
I paid for the services- The travel time was at max supposed to be 5-6 days - not 10. She only had enough food for 6 days. She arrived so hungry and sick...
Citizens shippers went unresponsive to calls and emails, where I Pleaded for intervention with this woman driver who drove her through literally 12 states so she could keep getting more animals. This conduct was apparently okay with you CitizenShippers?
It was all about money, not the well-being of pets?
I do not recommend this company, and or the driver mentioned.
While I understand this is a 3rd party service, they really did nothing to help us when our shipper basically didn't communicate with us and then threatened to leave our dog where he was! It's not ok to claim to "just be a 3rd party" and allow reckless drivers to hide behind their company. The driver threatened my husband because we had contacted the company mid-service to say we still didn't have our dog. He called my husband a "little $#*!" and wanted to fight him. How do you still employee someone like this? Our dog was covered in feces and our breeder was not happy with the car conditions either!
I will say that I did get a phone call from Shawn McMenamin the Shipping Customer Liaison Manager who seemed concerned and they did an "investigation" but it came down to "While we took both you and the breeder as having a great deal of credibility, we had to weigh that against the track record of the long standing driver and the lack of documentable evidence." Well, why would I waste my time making up a story like this? We have a very busy life and I am taking the time so others don't have to go through this.
One positive that hopefully will come out of this ( thus the 2 stars) is they seem to be now looking into a tracking system for all pets, which they should have already have.
I would say make sure your driver shares a tracker from DAY 1. I would make sure you demand pictures and updates. And I would hold Citizen shipper responsible for tracking their drivers!

Nesta Howell received over $1,000 to commute our pets from Fort Worth Texas to North Carolina. We are here and our pets are still in Texas.
Nesta Howell is refusing to refund our money or make good on the delivery. One of our pets got sick before leaving Texas and she abandoned them at the Veterinarian Clinic.
The Veterinarian informed us that cats where cleared to travel and she refused to go pick them up. Our mother has since picked up our 3 healthy pets.
Abandoned pets ultimately result in euthanization.
We have repeatedly asked Nasta Howell for a refund of all or a portion of our money because the delivery of our pets had not occurred.
We have repeatedly asked her to deliver them and she refuses. Nesta Howell is very combative, argumentative and heartless.
Nesta Howell has pocketed over $1000 dollars and fails to deliver what we in good faith hired her to do.
This is not the kind of person you want to trust or interact with.
CitizenShipper….we are asking you to block her account and protect other families from this fraud and emotional distress and harm.

I was very nervous but Shane and Holly got my snoopy to me safe and sound and we're very helpful and understanding with me glad they could help and glad they are the ones I stayed with.
It was so easy to ship a puppy across the states and with people doing personal reviews it made it easy to pick and make sure I wasn't getting scammed.

Answer: The driver directly you just pay the booking fee to the site when you accept the bid.
Answer: You should be able to google them and find reviews, meanwhile when you click on their business information it tells you if they are certified and verified that is all you really need and then there are reviews posted their along with their star rating and how many transports they have completed.

Hi Amy, this sounds like a frustrating situation all around. As you probably know the drivers are independent contractors and as such, we have limited control over them. We expect professional levels of service from each one but unfortunately we can’t discipline them without documentation. I read through your interaction with our support department and i see the agents tried really hard to make sure the event was investigated to find out if we had enough proof to make a case. There was not enough proof of negligence on the part of the driver and therefore should we discipline him, there would be legal repercussions. We are working on implementing a plan to put GPS trackers on pets during shipping but making sure we have the best units possible. We do appreciate all customer feedback so that we can make positive changes to the processes and improve outcomes across the board, so thank you for helping us implement good changes.
