Don't waste time staying at Comfort Inn and Suites in Fruita Colorado. SJ, the manger is rude, and doesn't care about customers at all. The customer service doesn't care about handling the complaints, they go out of their way to try to make it difficult to leave a complaint. Don't stay at Choice Hotels. It's a waste of your money and you will not be happy with the service.

Housekeeper on drugs
January 30, 2022

Went to quality inn in galipolis Ohio. A housekeeper with the name tag April was talking loudly in the hall way early one morning about how she couldn't wait to get her drugs & that she was skipping bed making to meet her dealer on time. Truly disgusting. I tried calling the front desk to report and they were no help. Absolutely unacceptable. That housekeeper needs fired and they need to drug test their housekeepers!

My mom is currently staying at this hotel and they are telling her they will not extend her stay any longer. They have almost kicked all the animal owners out. They are not a pet friendly hotel. When people were grilling out in the area specifically for pets. Hotel management did nothing about it. Likev I said almost all the pet owners have already been kicked out. The only reason she is staying there is because we are currently looking for housing. Management has already been told this.

Ripped off
July 27, 2019

I stayed at quality inn in Fargo Nd last night. When I checked my bank account I noticed that there was 3 charges one of them for $4.20 I have no idea what this is for, a charge for quality inn ( I did stay there) and a charge for econo lodge ( I did not stay there. I can not get any support. I have left messages and no response. Is this theft, identity theft, or fraud. With out any response it really makes me wonder.

Do not stay here!
September 26, 2021

Choice hotels should be ashamed to even admit this hotel is one of theirs! This hotel needs to be demolished! I am going to report this hotel to the Pennsylvania health department. The smoke detector his hanging by wires. The water is toxic, full of rust, rotten eggs and God knows what else. We could not drink the water or take a shower for fear of some kind of horrible contamination! The floors, walls, and ceilings are falling apart. And to add insult to injury, we had to pay over 200dollars for the room!

I have stayed in some very good and some very bad Choice Hotels (Econo Lodge, Quality Inn, Sleep Inn, Clarion...) The worst thing about the chains though is that their central website cannot be trusted for any of the reviews found there.

After my two latest stays (in not so good hotels), I have found afterward that I cannot leave a review of the property and my experience. When I called the hotel central offices to find out why, I was told that reviews are "by invitation only", meaning I guess, that you only get invited to leave a review on the main reservation site if you have "gushed" all over the manager while you were there? (Otherwise, I cannot fathom how some people get to leave reviews and some don't.)

The result of this is that the reviews of the hotels on their corporate website are skewed toward "we love this place." Come on Choice, how about permitting some honest reviews by real customers?

Choice Priveleges is a scam. The e-mail link on their site does not work. If you try calling the numbers You will get a computer generated "person" I asked for a customer service person the computer generated voice verified that and assured me it was transferring me. It then disconnected me. That happened twice.

Scam hotel company
April 12, 2022

I will never use a choice hotel ever again. I am owed a refund and have been waiting 6 months and still haven't received it. I call customer service everyday and they keep telling me I have to wait. What bank takes over 6 months to process a check?! I have been a platinum member with them and religiously booked with them for years. Never ever again.

I travel for my work; therefore, I go from city to city and stay for up to a year on my different contracts. I joined Choice Privileges via telephone. Nothing but problems and they don't care. I stayed at an Econo Lodge for four months. I got a better rate through the manager than ChoicePrivileges or any other website. I was told I still accrued points. I did not.

I am now at another Choice Hotel in another state. I still have been trying to get online access to my account (six months now) and their customer service keeps giving me the run around. I need to extend my stay. The hotel manager told me that ChoicePrivileges will give me a better rate than he could. The Customer Rep at ChoiceHotels wanted $10 more per night than hotels.com and $3 more a night than their website. When I told the Customer Rep, he said, "So, do you want the reservation or what?" He refused to acknowledge the better deals. No need in becoming a member of this rip off. What a joke!

My fiancé' wanted to stay with her aunt, hadn't seen here for years. We booked a hotel room as backup. Her aunt invited us to stay with her so I called to cancel. Quality Inn said they would accept the cancellation which we called 3 days in advance. They said because we booked through Choice Hotels, we had to call them. We did, the Customer Service rep (took two of them) said that she would call the hotel directly, if Quality would allow it, she would cancel it. Came back on line then said Quality won't cancel it which was a lie. Then she hung up on me. I will never use Choice Hotels again. Stay away from them!

Rip off
March 4, 2023

I live in Columbus Ohio and my great nice lives in Blairsville GA. She was getting married April 29 so I made a reversion at comfort inn for three nights for $427.49. The wedding got postponed because the groom got called up by the National Guard to go to Turkey for the earthquake relief. I called Comfort inn and a very nasty lady told me no refund because I prepaid with choice hotels. I am canceling all most 2 months in advance. The wedding will be sometime in the fall when he gets back form Turkey. I will not be staying at a comfort rip off inn. I will never stay anywhere that choice rip off hotels is involved in.

Made reservation online to using the choice hotel app.

Cancelled two weeks in advance. But was still charged.
Told I reserved 2 rooms, which was to the case.

Customer service is terrible, spent hours on phone trying to resolve.

Not worth the couple of extra dollars to stay at a decent hotel.

STAY AWAY FROM CHOICE HOTELS!

We scheduled a room in Alpine, Texas and caught the flu before we could go. We needed to re-set our reservation dates. The hotel we had reserved was willing to change our reservation with no service charge, but said the change of dates needed to go through Choicehotels.com. When we called Choicehotels.Com, the people there said the were not willing to change the dates of our reservation and that we would be billed for the room whether we stayed there or not. This despite that the people at the hotel said that it was a common practice to allow changes in that type of business reservation dates.

NOT A GOOD CHOICE
April 17, 2017

Was booking rooms online and when I was finished I noticed that I book two rooms for the same date. When I called and told them that I do not wish to cancel but to change the date of one of the rooms... NOT... they would not even change the date for me. So know I have two hotel rooms for the same date. I will never book through them again and if friends ask me about Choice Hotels, I will tell them to stay away. They are not customer friendly at all. They also do not answer your emails!

Corporate Rate
April 27, 2023

If you wanna corporate rate you better look for another hotel franchise. I have left and filled out the information and they say they will call you back. I've done this three times and no call back. I'm guessing they only give a corporate rate to companies that apply for the credit card. SMH

I booked a concert in Tinley Park. The concert got cancelled and never in a million years would I ever fo to Tinley Park if it wasnt for the concert. So I asked choice hotels to switch hotels to a different city Id actually like to visit even if it meant it was more expensive. I knew a refund was far fetched so I just asked to switch. They declined. Ill definitel check reviews before booking through any hotel chain. Theres a reason they have 1.5 Stars

Fraudulent room reservations in Canada
July 15, 2021

In June, I booked 2 nights in July at a Quality Inn in Niagara Falls, Ontario. A short time later, I discovered that the Canadian border was closed and I would be unable to get to this hotel. When I contacted Choice Hotels to cancel my reservation, they told me I could not because I had gotten an Advanced Purchase Rate which is not cancellable. Even now, there is no information on their Website that the Canadian border is closed. The Choice Hotel system should not have allowed this reservation to be made. By doing so, they perpetrated a fraudulent transaction because it cannot be fulfilled.
