Very uncleanly hotels in Dundee and Ann Arbor Quality Inns. They don't care I have contacted them and they have done nothing to resolve other than offer me $50 to go away. Bed bugs on two occasions contracted, shower curtains that allow water to run on the floor causing mold, bugs in their food and there policy to allow the people from the street to hang out in the lobby and eat the food with clients. I support feeding the hungry but a selected time not all day long.
I recently had booked a reservation through choice hotels and then right before our trip my travel mate tested positive with Covid19. I called to change dates or anything and was told they could not do anything. I would be sure to read reviews and would never recommend using them. I was on the phone for almost an hour being transferred 5 times to be told to keep calling the same number and to be told there was nothing that could be done. There are so many other hotel sites that will give you better service and accommodations. Please don't make the same mistake I did.
I booked a room with choice but shortly after found out my wife had to be out of town during the date booked. I tried to cancel but the site would not let me. I sent two e-mails to them, 12 days ago, and again 5 days ago, no answer! I then called and waited on the phone 35 minutes (our phone counted it out), before somebody "helped" me. I found out I made the mistake of booking an advanced rate, no refund. That was the first time I have done that, I hit the wrong thing evidently, it was my mistake. After finding that out I told him because of my wife's meeting we could not go and with over a month yet I figured they could still rent the room out. NOPE. They wouldn't budge to help us out. After this experience, mainly because they don't answer e-mails, (their contact form), I WILL NEVER book any Choice hotel again!
My parents got me and my wife a 100.00 gift card through choice hotels and when we tried to use it nobody on there website or app would take it not to mention you can use it on the website. Long story short if you have a gift card im sorry you just got ripped off customer service sucks and does nothing
The promos don't work on their website. I tried to book a room with the "corporate code" that I got from my job. There was no place to enter any codes when trying to book online. I called HR for my job. They said to enter the code on the website. The website has a Choice Hotels logo and a Choice Privileges logo at the top but no where to enter any codes. So HR said I have to call Choice. So I call them and they look up my account, look up the hotel and 5 minutes later, nope, they don't accept the Choice Corporate Code! I went through all this for nothing! Talk about making it difficult to book.

Booked a hotel room fr next week come through find out the representative books me for the same night I was calling on and the Hotel charged me for 1 night fr not show. My whole reservation was completely wrong with the wrong dates And no one from the choice hotels wants to admit the problem and they told me I have to fix the issue and get my money back from the hotel. You are thieves, with a very customer service and you should never be in service.
The Quality Inn in Huron, Ohio has bed bugs & sheets do not appear or feel clean. Having to pursue a full refund through my bank/credit card company who is following up with the hotel manager. The message was received today (Monday) that the manager will not be in till Wednesday. As of yesterday (Sunday), the hotel message was that the manager would be in today at 7:00 am.
Half the lights in the room didn't work. Toilet did not flush. Trash on the floor. NONE of the ice machines worked. Upon complaining, I was offered a discount/credit. They issued it to the wrong room and refused to correct the mistake.
Choice hotels must be bottom of the barrel now. They do not oversee their properties they claim to own and if you have an issue at the hotel they will tell you it is independently owned and don't get involved with helping to settle an issue. Just another corporation with poor customer service sucking on the teet of unsuspecting customers. Be warned
One of the worst hotel chains I have ever tried. They have the low income housing at their hotels and the guests are super sketchy. I had 3 nights booked at the rodeway capri in New Jersey. I was approached by a "guest" who asked me for money. When I refused he followed me to the lobby and waited for me outside. The hotel refunded me for 2 nights but still charged me for the night i stayed. 2 months later I booked a one night stay at Clarion in Miami. Again felt super unsafe, called customer service and they refused to refund my stay. These hotels are scary to stay at, especially if you are staying with kids, NEVER book a choice hotel. You will regret it just as I have TWICE.
I tried a little experiment and tried to book a hotel with points and there were none available. Changed my search to AAA discount and suddenly there were 12 hotels available. Makes you think. Before you get too excited about your points. Try cashing them in and see what Choice hotels are made of.
Their website changes dates. If you call they are not only non sympathetic, they call you a liar. You do not get a chance to review the reservations before they charge you and once they have your money. Forget it, your on your own. There are hundreds of sites that don't steal your money. The room I was trying to book before the website changed my dates was $45. They charged my credit card $162. Reported it to my credit card company and they produced a print out from choice.com and didn't even have my right name on it and Credit card company ruled in their favor.
Anyone who believes the "rewards" program is real is in for a rude awakening. Points are worthless, and you're always just a few points shy of using them. Ask them and they will encourage you to buy points.
Booked a hotel through this site but didn't notice when a pressed "book" that the site had reset the dates I required to the day I was booking it. As I was on a different continent this was useless so I emailed them to ask for the date to be changed as it was their site's fault.
They have completely ignored me.

The Quality Inn in Emporia VA. Was terrible. I walked in and ther were towels thrown on thee floor-dead beetles upside down -next to bed--furniture turned upside down in front of the air conditioning unit, and a doornob hanging on a thread from inside the bathroom. Very poorly managed hotel with an arrogant front desk.
I canceled a stay in one of their hotels and was promised a refund. They provided me with a receipt showing a refund due, but when I never received it they blamed the hotel. I have been given the run around and they wanted to give me points instead. Horrible business practices. I will never stay with another choice hotel ever.
I booked 14 rooms and a meeting room for 4 nights. I submitted everything to get my points and choice hotels agreed that I had done so. I have spent about 10 hours trying to get my points with them always agreeing that there was a mistake and they would expedite my complaint. I was told twice I would be called... The hotel itself was great but I sure would not trust the promise of points. They have no idea what they are doing and I was quoted different rules at different times but they always said I would be getting my points.
The website is unusable if I can't sign in, or get my inability to sign in resolved. There is no apparent way to email a human being, other than the canned we'll get back to you within 72! Hours. LOL.
My wife went to the Choice Hotel Website to book a room for 3/25/16 for a one night stay on 3/21/16 for 630 West Bay Street Savannah GA. We arrived on 3/25/16 and was informed that we booked our room for 3/25/16. We explained that was incorrect, they acknowledge that they didn't sent a email confirmation, only a survey on 3/24/16. The gentleman that checked us into the room is also the General Mgr. So Mr. Jean provides guest services, monitor the email complaint box, and believes he is objective in rendering a fair resolution. Mr. Jean also, confirms that we probably didn't receive an email confirmation, he confirms, that they did rent the room. But, I'm having to deal with the Corporate office for a refund. This is unbelievable! Me and my wife are both Veterans... we deserve better.
Don't waste time staying at Comfort Inn and Suites in Fruita Colorado. SJ, the manger is rude, and doesn't care about customers at all. The customer service doesn't care about handling the complaints, they go out of their way to try to make it difficult to leave a complaint. Don't stay at Choice Hotels. It's a waste of your money and you will not be happy with the service.
I recently fled a domestic violence situation which I let the manager know about as she was asking me to leave she told me to pack lighter next time I got beat up
