I buy a ton of items from chewy. I highly recommend them. I typically spend $300 on an order. Tell all my friends to have their pet supplies delivered. Well…. My friend did…just dog bones for her grand dog and fedex said the package had to be signed for! I buy $300 and they leave it out on my sidewalk in the rain but dog bones have to be signed for? We both called chewy customer service and talked to a young woman that was clearly working from home bc you can hear kids in the background and she clearly doesn't care about the order and neither does fedex! I will never recommend chewy to anyone ever again! I am so embarrassed! So disappointed! It is a great service especially to us elderly and/or disabled. Shows this company…like many…don't give a s about their customers…just the bottom line. Embarrassed and disappointed and will never recommend them again! Really disgusting!
I emailed customer service about information I needed to place my order. They responded, but did not provide what I needed. Then I called and a customer service rep said she would have a supervisor get back to me. That was two days ago. They are polite, but if you need something out of the ordinary, totally unresponsive. Will not do business with them in the future.
Chewy consistent sends shipping dates and shows on their website that items have shipped when they haven't even been picked up. Don't plan on pet food refill dates. They won't make the promised dates. Last time I had to go to the store three times to keep buying more dog food for the continual dates they missed. Gave them another chance and they lied again. Order from someone who tells you the truth. Three strikes.
Chewy has always be excellent company to work with from general orders and tracking to getting prescription food from. But when our Labradoodle recently passed away, they not only refunded the price for a vet chat (was chatting with online vet for info on comforting him in last hours) but they also sent flowers! They go way above and beyond what they need to!
I had used Chewy for many years and was happy until recently. They do back up any product issues and the customer service reps are great.
However, out of 6 shipments every box had product damage. The merchandise had no packing; even though it was requested each and every time. With the time spent on the phone, it just did not go anywhere feasible. The management does not seem to care one one or the other. Chewy should realize they are not the pet supply store out there.
We have now taken our business elsewhere and it is unfortunate. However, after continuous damage product shipments, it is time to move on.
The absolute worst company I've ever dealt with...
It's all about the money and their management is no better than the associates... Their claims to fast shipping is totally unreliable... Sooner or later you'll steer clear of them, but I hope you don't take as long to learn as I did...
Chewy is pretty good place to order all your pet needs. My only problem with it, is you have to sign up for autoship to receive the really good discount and they send way too much email. However with pandemic problems, and stores being empty this is a good option to get your pet food and litter. In our case the stores near me have been empty of the brand we like and use for both food and cat litter and chewy has been a great source for us to get what we want. Their delivery comes quick and items always arrive safe, unopened.
I placed an auto renewal Order last week for my dog's medicine. I have made 4 phone calls trying to have the prescription verifying and I am still waiting. Chewy says Sage Vet has a do not call message on them. I call Sage and they said they take calls from Chevy all the time. Chewy says they have dent 2 fax requests to Sage, Sage says the didn't receive them. I asked Chewy what fax number they were using and the guy gave me Dave's direct line. And in the mean time, my poor little dog doesn't feel good. I wish I had used 1800Petmeds!
I notify them that my cat Simba passed away Monday 1/2/23. First I got a very heartfelt email then Tuesday afternoon I got a lovely bouquet of flowers with a beautiful handwritten card.
I can't say enough about their customer service. It's such a breath of fresh air to be treated as a person and feel you matter.
So thankfully for all work you do. I've been with Chewy for over 8 years. Customer service always been so helpful with picking right food for my German Shepperd.
He recently passed away and Karen K was so kind and caring.
Thank you for sending me flowers. It made my day!
I am so thankful for your customer service they are always going beyond!
Thank you!

There customer service has definitely started going down the drain. Communication is poor. I was told a manager was going to call me. None such call was made. Emailed them regarding situation and was simply told to call the 1800 number. (But I already did...)
Finally got a manager and she apologized, agreed with my concerns BUT gave no resolution. So you agree with me and then nothing else happens? I guess they've gotten so big they dont care for one person's concern. Lost customer chewy.
Told by Chewy rep to forward email copy of vets prescription for filling. Two and a half days later Chewy emails me at 11 pm ti tell me they cannot accept emailed prescriptions and giving me recommendations on how to "expedite" my order.
I bought a cat tree through chewy.com. Frisco it was called. The posts on the side with the rope wrapped around them are pretty much clawed apart after a year and when I went to their website to get replacement parts, they don't offer any! How wasteful is that! Instead of being able to replace parts and keep using that cat tree, I have to buy a whole new one. I will never ever again buy anything from them.
I am a long-time Chewy customer and have always had very thoughtful, nice customer service. This week my beloved dog died. When calling to cancel our automatic food delivery, I mentioned that I would donate our unopened dog food. The representative insisted that Chewy would refund the order. I thought this was exceptionally nice, but I was unprepared for what came next. Two days later, along came flowers with a card that touched me with its heartfelt, kind words of sympathy and support. This is a company like no other I know.
Well, Chewy used to be good, but Petsmart bought Chewy in 2017; quality has gone down, with shipping costs up. This is NOT the business it was. Too bad Petsmart continues making the same mistakes that took the company from #1 to the untold mess Petsmart (Huh! And now, likely Chewy!) is today. Check your packages, shipping costs, and merchandise-quality. I don't think anyone wants bugs in their shipment!
This company goes above and beyond customer expectations. If something is improperly sent it damaged they do not ask you to send it back but to donate to a local animal shelter and then they rush out a new order. They are courteous and an absolute pleasure to do business with. Their prices are competitive. They carry excellent brands like The Honest Kitchen and Fresh! Their auto ship policy is easy and they make it easy to modify if that's what you want. Their animal toys and other no food items are much cheaper than if purchased in a typical pet store.
I bought an expensive pond filter that stopped working in 4 months. It was time to close the pond so I put the filter away. Now comes Spring and I contact Chewy and oh well you are one month over the return policy. Return? I only need a ballast replaced. NOPE. My regular pond companies would fix this issue but not Chewy. SO I am done with them and will accept this as a lesson learned.
I have 2 guinea pigs, 3 rats, and 3 hamsters, all rescues. I've ordered several times from chewy.com. I find that their prices are half of the prices for the same products locally. Merchandise arrives very quickly and is as expected. They are a great company to deal with. Their prices make it possible to care for my many pets on a budget.
Chewy has always had the best customer service, recently they have gone over and above when I had a slightly damaged shipment due to bad packing and mishandling. It was much more than I expected or needed. They answer emails and phones promptly and fix problems on the spot. I just wish they would use UPS instead.
After my delivery showed delivered I called and they immediately resent item. To my dismay it happened again, that's when I realized the address was typed in wrong. After walking down the street to get my package from my neighbor, his lying $#*! denied receiving any packages. I called customer service again they resent 2 of the prescription cat foods my poor sick cat has been waiting on and refunded me some money. Needless to say they went above and beyond for a mistake on my end!
Answer: No trouble at all. They have the best customer service/replacement/refund practices I've ever encountered. By all means, contact them again if you're having an issue.
Answer: If you are having trouble returning an item, call Customer Service and ask them to assist you. My understanding for returns is any item can be returned, even if it has been used you may return it within 1 year of original purchase. Their Custom Service is available 24 hours, 7 days a week. So, if you work odd hours you don't to wait until Customer Service is available.
Answer: Because they make it a point to lie and deceive their customers... I will NEVER use them again!
Answer: Ever thought of reading the FAQ posted on EVERY SINGLE COMPANIES WEBSITE to answer your own questions? Companies post these FAQ's for a reason. Too bad people are too lazy to read them. Then you scream at the reps you speak to due to your own stupidity levels in NOT READING A COMPANIES POLICIES. FYI it is a CONSUMERS RESPONSIBILITY to read those policies as the company already knows their own policies. FYI shipping from the USA to Canada cost customs fees and taxes which are NOT refundable and if you chose to return an item you will will incur these fees again and YOU are responsible for paying for them not the company you do business with. International shipping also requires proper documentation to get packages through customs. Not every USA company has the man power to deal with this enormous amount of work nor do they wish to deal with the headaches involved with shipping outside of the USA. How so many of you Canadians do not know this information is mind boggling.
Answer: Because they have free shipping over $49. It is FREE OVER $49.
