Dabbled with Chewy pre-pandemic but started using them for all my cat food when it was becoming difficult to shop in person. I never had a single issue until a few months ago when they sent me some of my order but neglected to tell me half my cat's food was on backorder. They just cancelled that and sent the rest. When I called they offered to ship me new stuff but wouldn't give me the discount or free shipping that comes with the autoship i had set up. Since then they've started screwing with the prescription food fulfillment. Every time I order I have to upload the prescription. On my most recent order I had to cancel one food variety because they wouldn't ship it and the vet refused to write another prescription until I bring the cat in... all this for non medicated food? OK, rules are rules even if "prescription" pet food is a grey area. The kicker on this particular order is Chewy did ship the other prescription food and then the next day sent an email saying I needed to upload a prescription. When I called (for at least the 5th time... 2nd in 3 days) they have a bunch of excuses, make a bunch of promises and in the end, I'll have the same problem when/if I order from them again. I always heard their customer service was awesome but now that I've had to use it I think it's awful and I've about decided I'd rather pay the extra few dollars and pick up my food at the local box store. I can't believe I'm to the point where the box store is the better option.

Logged into and completed the form to order the medications they said they would contact the vet to get the prescriptions. Sent email saying it was being processed, days later got another email saying it had been canceled and to contact them. Called and they said that they weren't sure why it was canceled but would "escalate" the issue, never heard back from them called again and they said that it may have been an address issue and told me they would re-order. Next day got another email saying it was canceled and that I would have to go back to my vet get the prescription and mail it to them and they told me to order it priority mail which would cost $8 but they would refund me. Told them to just cancel the order again and refund my money which I had already paid for when I completed the order the first time. Not worth the aggravation and will not use this company again. They will not accept a scanned copy so I'll just stop by the Pet's Smart on my way home and pick up the medications. It was only for Heartgard so I'm not sure what all the fuss is about, it's not like I'm trying to order Elephant tranquillizers.

For over a year and a half, my two dog's prescriptions for carprofen have been entered in the system. The prescription is for two tablets per dog per day. 90 day prescription is 180 tablets. The prescription that was entered was for two caplets. When I go online to order I have to select the prescription and then set it to 90 refills. Asinine. Dara, the CSM argued that that was the way it was supposed to be. When I tried to show how illogical it is she talked over me, interrupting and insisting that I had to order 90 refills. I tried to just reorder what I had called your customer service about last time and they fixed it online. I almost submitted an order for 4 tablets where the shipping is outrageously more that the 4 pills. Luckily, I didn't hit submit but calling your customer service is absolutely frustrating and demeaning. I canceled my order and although it is slightly higher, will go elsewhere for medications for my 6 pups. Terrible customer service for two years. Unresolved by your CS staff.

When did their post I thought was a scam and I made them aware that I thought it was a scam so they told me that it wasn't a scam and that they would like to send me something being that I wasn't one of the ones selected to receive something they asked me what I needed most and I told them Kitty with her mind I gave her my address twice she verified it and that the old address on my site was not my current address although she still sent my stuff to my old address and I never got it when I saw that it was being sent to the wrong address the day of delivery on emails after I got home from the hospital I called the number that says if you have a shipping issue call it and the lady basically said ok Google and it'll take another one to three days okay well what is my cat supposed to do for cat litter and one to three days and why can't you just call the delivery truck and tell them to bring it to the right address it hasn't been left yet they just would rather make everything harder and nothing easier and the people that work there aren't capable of saving the information that they get from you and making sure that stuff goes to the right place they shouldn't work there I shouldn't be this sick trying to deal with this and get it right this is so sad that I have to go through this right now I used to love chewy I don't no more

TRIED TO GET A PRESCRIPTION FILLED THAT MY 15 YEAR CAT NEEDED TO HELP HIS BREATHING WHICH IS FAILING. THE PRESCRIPTION HELPS HIM BREATHE BETTER. FOR 2 WEEKS I HAVE BEEN TOLD FIE DIFFERENT TORIES AS HOW TO GET THE PRSCRIPTION FILLE. ALL THE PEOPLE AT CHEWY WERE WORRIED ABOUT IS HOW SORRY THEY WERE FOR THE PRVIOUS PERSON, WHO DROPPED THE BALL, AND SO ON AND SO ON FOR 2 WEEKS AND 5 TO 6 PEOPLE ALL INCOMPETENT AND ALL TELLING A DIFFERENT STORY. MEANWHILE MY PORR CAT STILL DOES NOT HAVE HIS MEDICINE. I SPEND AT CHEWY OVER $3000 PER MONTH THRU 3 DIFFERENT SOURCES (BUSINESS +PERSONAL).
I WILL BNEVER SPEAND A DOLLAR EVER WITH THIS AWFUL COMPANY...JUST AWFUL

No longer a fan

I have been a loyal Chewy customer for years and have always been very satisfied with my experiences with them, however, this changed when they started to use OnTrac to ship my orders. One of the most satisfying things about using Chewy was their fast delivery. If I placed an order in the morning, I could generally expect to receive the order the following day. However, now that they are using OnTrac, I am still waiting for the shipment to make it to my home. It's been 10 days and the package had to travel 357 miles. My first customer service went well. That was when the package was only a couple of days late. They refunded a portion of the order and told me that all future orders would be shipped using a different carrier. My second experience with customer service was not great, but decent. She initiated a replacement order free of charge and told me it would be shipped using Fed Ex. When the tracking information arrived, though, it had again been shipped via OnTrac. My third customer experience was unpleasant. I called to express my frustration with OnTrac and to ask for a full refund for the first order I placed because the product never arrived, and to inquire why the order was not shipped via Fed Ex as they promised. I was told that they can't guarantee which shipper is used, they can only recommend. She checked with her "leadership team" and then told me that OnTrac is owned by Fed Ex, which is completely untrue. Then she proceeded to tell me that Fed Ex is experiencing delays now, too, which is why they went with OnTrac. I told her that while I have no way of knowing whether Fed Ex is actually experiencing delays, I can say with certainty that if I contacted Fed Ex about the whereabouts of my package, I would get truthful information, which is not the case with OnTrac. Bottom line. My first order never arrived and the replacement order sent by Chewy via OnTrac is 'on track' to be 4 days late. In the meantime, I am out of prescription pet food for my cat and will now have to try and find it locally.

First time user of chewy and genuinely not impressed! Placing the order seemed very straightforward and streamlined and simple until of course after they charged my card and the transaction was successful. A few minutes later, I received an email (that is by sheer luck that I saw because there was no indication of any impending issues at the apparent completion of the transaction) stating that I need to call them to complete the transaction...

Ok, odd. So I call in and get this really rude girl with an accusatory tone basically trying to imply that I'm some sort of a fraud store or something and needed to "verify me". I went along with the little game they were playing because I had nothing to hide of course she was satisfied with the information she received and then I was told the answer she received had to be reviewed by a separate team the following day. Wth?

The order was supposed to be same day delivery by the way, and it is flea medication for my poor chihuahua...

Fast forward it's about 4:00 p.m. the following day and have not heard anything from them regarding my shipment as I was told I was supposed to have heard from them by the morning. So I proceeded to call in, and got an incredibly arrogant snot on the phone you wanted to argue with me about what type of shipping promotion I received, what she was wrong about, he did verify that the verification department successfully processed my information and approve the order (which they approved the order when they ran the card and took the money but whatever) and yet the item although READY to be shipped has not yet in fact been shipped nor will it be today? WTF are they waiting for and what happened to same day delivery? If this is a typical customer experience with this company I don't know how the f*ck they're still in business because I sure won't be ordering from them again and placing myself in a position to be treated this badly again.

Chewy is a fantastic website with good prices and many ways to get the pet supplies you use most shipped to you conveniently. I found Chewy amid searching for ways to save money on the cat food I buy most often. Chewy had it in stock for about $2.00 less a bag than any local stores. Additionally, if you order $49 or more, you get free shipping. I ordered four bags to get free shipping and save money. The heavy cat food bags were not only packaged well for shipping, they were here in two days. I expected savings; I did NOT expect such quick shipping. I don't believe Chewy even advertises it. A few days after my order, I received a hand-written card thanking me for my order and wishing my cats enjoyed the food.

The experience I had with Chewy's website was so fantastic that as soon as my reserves ran low, I ordered from them again. I set up an auto-ship order this time. It works much like Amazon's Subscribe & Save where you set it and forget it and products are shipped to you at regular time periods that you set up. There are multiple ways for you to change the amount and timing of the products you want, and they offer 20% off your first auto-ship order. So I ordered six bags of my cat food and got free shipping and 20% off. Again, I received the order in two days.

I highly recommend Chewy. It's a no BS, straight-to-the-point convenient site to order pet supplies from. Now I don't have to worry about lugging in big bags of food up the driveway since it comes to my door, AND I save money. My cats don't care either way; as long as they're spoiled and don't have to work for their kibble, they're good. Two thumbs way up for Chewy.

I had just reordered my Wishes his cat food again. He had to have a special kind of cat food, that needed a prescription from his vet in order for me to buy it. Oh I'm telling you it wasn't easy to get I, had to get a prescription card then take that to the front of the store. Then take the food home and make sure that I reodered it pleanty ahead of time so I didn't run out of it. I, don't drive so that was another hang up to getting my cat his food.
But lucky for me I saw a something on- line about Chewy.com it was a life saver. No more having to make sure I could get a ride to the pet store or carry the prescription card on me. It even cost me less ordering it on line. Oh and then The on- line help I, received was great.
But now here comes the real reason i'm posting this review. Just this past week my cat Wishes passed away, I didn't know it would hurt so much to have him gone 13 years went by so fast. I had just opened his new bag of food when he passed away during the night. I didn't know how caring and amazingly kind a company could be I wasn't at all sure if I could return the bag of food because I had already opened it.
I honestly thought I would get a we're so sorry but since you opened the bag reply. But I didn't instead I received a condolence on my loss, plus a credit back on my card and all they asked that I do was to give the remaining amount of the bag to the closest animal shelter to me! So if I need anything pet related Chewy.com will always get my bussiness plus my never-ending thanks and recognition. Chewy.com you deserve 10 out of 10 stars!

Great service!

Ive been meaning to write a review for a while, but todays great service made me decide to do it! I have been using Chewy for about a year and a half. I started using them when I had knee surgery and couldnt walk for 4 mos. I live upstairs, and had to scoot up and down on my butt, and then use a walker to get to my car. I didnt go out much. Amazon and Chewy became 2 of my best friends and the convienence since I live far from a Petsmart or Petco was so nice I decided to continue. I love the selection as well! Its so easy to log into my account and add or subtract to my order, I can have my order sent immediately or change the date with ease. If I have my order sent immediately, its isually there the next day! So fast! Anyway, today I had to call because one of my theee boxes in the last order didnt show. It may have been stolen as I live in the center of town, next to a business and right on a very busy highway. I calle Chewy and the repressive didnt hassle me at all, issued a new order, and within about 30 minutes I got a notification that it had shipped! I highly recommend them as I have had incredible service.

Chewy has certainly went above and beyond for our family in the two years we have been with them. After today, I will not shop anywhere else for my pets needs.
You see... we lost our beloved Ranger last week, it took me a few days to process everything before I decided to update my chewy account. When you remove a pet from your account it'll ask why and give various reasons you can decide from. It also gives you a chance to write a note at the end before submitting. In the note I wanted to let them know, I'd continue to be a loyal customer but my shipments would change from bi-weekly to once a month or less. Keep in mind I did this yesterday (8/23)...
This afternoon (8/24) I received an unexpected package via UPS. After opening it up to see a beautiful assorted dozen roses, I read the note... It was written from Tyler on behalf of Chewy.
Talk about going above and beyond. Think about it for a moment -- would petsmart or walmart do this? Never. Why? Because those companies see you as just another $. Chewy doesn't. Chewy sees you as a real person with pets that you absolutely adore and consider family. When you make that first order from Chewy, you're family to them. They have sent both Ranger and Chai (chiweenie) birthday cards for the past 2 years. We even received a Christmas card from them!
Their return policy is great as well... In the past 6 months, we tried to find the perfect food for Ranger. He needed to gain weight and keep it on, so we bought at least 4 different bags of food. He only liked one of the 4, so I sent Chewy an email and explained the situation... Without hesitation they replied back and issued a refund within 24 hours. They understand that not all animals will like what they're given, its just life. They ask that if they issue a refund that you donate whatever is left to a shelter, rescue or any animals in need. That in itself is AWESOME.
I cannot say enough good things about Chewy other than what I have said already, I'll continue to be a loyal customer and I hope if you're reading this. You will too.
Trust me, even if they are a few dollars more than a big box store... it is worth every penny. Oh and I get the food within 1-2 days via FedEx!
