Do not buy from Maria R, Ontario, CA. She is a thief. She has owed me $1650. 00 for several months, promises to take care of it TOMORROW but never does. Her husband is in cahoots with her. Forewarned is forearmed.
Seller Beware! I am considering sending the company a bill for all the time I wasted trying to list my tables---their software doesn't work and badly needs to go back to beta testing. Their form consistently clears correctly entered fields--I finally had to call the company to list and, oh look, their voice mail box is full! Wonder why. Then I have an interested buyer who wants updates and their message software won't allow my response to go through because it claims the message includes URLs, email addresses and telephone numbers which it most certainly does not. This might have been a good idea on paper but company is a hot mess.
These reviews say it all... some happy sellers out there seem to be making some coin off of a pretty large census of unhappy buyers... hmmmmmmmm...
As an unhappy Chairish.com buyer with similar experiences to many of the buyer reviews listed here and elswhere... I'll just leave it at "Ditto, what she said... the Buyer, that is!"
I have been waiting 4 weeks now for my item. Zero accountability. Customer Support Team is a joke, they shuffle you around so they don't have to take responsibility to deal with you. Definitely contact the seller directly via CL or 1stD and cut these ppl out of the middle they get in their own way! There is something Not Right going on here
Why is it described as curated? The web site is full of fake and wrong description!
20% commission is insane, especially the poor customer service, the long delay for delivery (it can be more than 8 weeks!). No guarantee for the buyer nor the seller.
That website has been created by peoples who only want to make money and are totally disrespectful with their clients and customers... Sad
I have been selling on Chairish for a few months now and have experienced 3 instances of seller-unfriendly customer service, all of which could have been easily avoided. The first was that a few of my items were delisted without any notice to me for apparently no reason. After inquiring as to why this happened, Chairish responded that sellers are not allowed to edit titles of their items and that I had done this. It is very easy for sellers to edit descriptions and titles of their listings, so if they don't want you doing this, why even make it possible to do so on the site? And why not explicitly state that we are not allowed to do this? Or why not just email me and warn me instead of taking down my listings? Second experience was that they threatened to reverse a completed transaction because the wrong tracking number was provided. Shouldn't they have just requested an updated tracking number? Why the threat? Third experience was that they refused to change the price on two of my listings when I requested to do so. I emailed customer service twice about this and received two inconsistent responses. Get your customer service together, Chairish!
I have been selling here almost since the beginning in 2014. I have paid them THOUSANDS of dollars in sales commissions at their ridiculous 20% rate. Yet they still make me, and every other seller, wait to get paid until shipping is complete and 48 hour return window is over. With their utterly incompetent, dishonest, and snail-like shipping partner, Plycon, this usually means from a month to TWO months post sale until you are paid. Mind you, Chairish is of course paid at the time of sale. So they are at any point in time sitting on a pile of cash owed to their sellers. Very clever or their part, huh? We, the sellers, are extending credit terms to a multimillion dollar company. Its an incredibly rude disrespectful and slimy way to treat people who work hard to find the very valuable merchandise they rely on to be in business. Especially for sellers such as myself whove never had a return or the slightest complaint from buyers. Its truly unfortunate because so much about the site and their marketing, SEO etc is excellent. But Im pulling the plug and taking my business elsewhere. I cant work with a company thats so utterly exploitative of me, and every other seller on it. Its been real.
My first experience was a waste of time I am so very happy I did not continue my purchase... Sellers are very inexperienced, they do not communicate, there was no response to the status of my offer after 72 hours and they take the money out of your account during the waiting period and it is not returned for another 3-4 days. I had to contact Cherish and the Seller... I Thank all the reviews before I continued with the sale as they verified my suspicion... I dodged that bullet... proceed with caution when buying... there is something that is not right goin on with this Company and I am sure in the future they will be charged with some kind of fraud activity. THANK YOU ALL FOR THE REVIEWS. You have saved me from a big headache that I was feeling I was headed for!
I bot a table but couldn't find a "complete offer" prompt. No telephone contact - mailbox was full. Annoyed and frustrated.
I sold an item on Chairish and the shipping company never contacted my to arrange pick up after 3 weeks of waiting and calling the shipping company called Plycon, I was told my paperwork on the sold item was missing.! Then the customer who bought the item got tired of waiting for the item and cancelled the transaction!
Customer Service is nonexistent. They have no problem taking your money as soon as you win your auction but then they fall off the face of the earth. They are supposed to send you a tracking number within 3 days of your purchase, it has been two weeks and I'm still waiting. Their Customer Number is just a recording and they don't answer their messages. This place is a trainwreck, don't be fooled... stay away.
While the item I received was beautiful... I paid almost as much for "white glove delivery" ($500) which included dumping the very heavy item in my garage. I had to pay an extra 100 to get someone else to the item upstairs for me later. Ugh. L
I read a lot of reviews before we opened our shop and unfortunately reading the bad reviews almost steered us away from Chairish. I am so glad I took a chance and opened a shop. Its only been 4 months and our sales have increased by 42% being on Chairish. When normally in the Summer our business is slow as we run a business in Southwest Florida but because of Chairish we have been extremely profitable this Summer.
Some of these reviews I have a hard time understanding as we have had such amazing support and communication with Chairish. That it almost makes me believe that its just a "few bad apples" to leave bad reviews.
Who knows maybe I will have some issues but I truly believe if you are honest and upfront with your buyers and help them in any way you can then things work out in your favor and in the customers.
Thanks again Chairish
I've sold a few items and bought several through my shop BlackthornCo in Chicago. I truly don't understand why people are screaming in these comments. The images I can assure you are not photoshopped. In fact I was hoping they would help me with my lighting a little bit LOL. If you're unsure about an item I would ask the seller to add more photos. Maybe because I'm an honest seller and I only sell things that I would personally use in my home that these comments are so strange to me. But I truly depend on this site to sell excellent products and I know there are others like myself who use it to buy excellent products. I think a lot of the people on here sound really uptight and almost fake?
Chairish customer service is awful, they take forever to post items, and directions are unclear if not downright confusing which causes major delays. They are awfully particular on postings as well seeing as most of the items I being sold are mostly the same as you can find on any resell site.
WE source hundreds of items pre year for use in the film and fashion industry from across all platforms and we have had multiple NIGHTMARE EXPERIENCES with this company. There is no way to get through to customer service. None of the dealers ever answer questions regarding condition issues or shipping. If we have a customer who wants to negotiate an offer, the conversation is publicly displayed as there is no way to contact the dealer in private. today, they AGAIn shipped an item we had asked them to hold for several weeks before shipping as we are away on another project. Would absolutely NEVER recommend this company.
Deplorable, awful customer service. Ordered a table, got 3 different track numbers and they said it was delivered. It was not. Terrible. Shame since their stuff looks good.
Obvious, their web developer is new, like the company, and is difficult and time-consuming to list on. Finally had to call support after numerous failures. And then they decided that $1000 new high end brand vanity was not the right fit for their site. Of course, I saw their other vanities and they were nothing special. No future of an ipo or takeover for this mismanaged grouo.
I've watched this company evolve and grow, although I've only purchased a handful of items through the website. All were fulfilled professionally and I was very pleased. Lately, I've enjoyed using the feature of looking at items based nearby from local storefront sellers. I've found a few "favorite" stores I didn't know about that I now visit in person. It's a nice win-win-win all around for buyers and sellers. Bravo on the evolving business model!
Just spoke to Chris, after trying to purchase multiple buys, given run around repeatedly. This is least expensive purchase I have ever attempted to purchase on line, yet this is most difficult purchase, when I asked to escalate this to admistrator, "chris has left the chat" and I was given an email address to further the issue. Disgraceful
Answer: Mary, because, simply put, it's a truly freaking awful place to be a seller. Yes, their commission is huge, but that's not even the beginning of the problem. It's also true that on the outside, it looks like a relatively professional, albeit middling enterprise and buyers trust it at first. I understand why you ask this question. But the people behind the scenes, every single one of them from VP's down, are disgustingly petty, cruel, dishonest, manipulative, cold, strange, socially inept, paranoid and just disrespectful people. They treat sellers like absolute garbage, suspect them of the worst, offer no freedom as to the listing, barely can get something listed in 2 or 3 weeks, then suddenly they all list at 2 am on a Sunday with messed up pictures. The more you sell, the more hateful they become toward you. Every time you ask for them to fix or help with something, they keep score. Every time a client has a question about their order or cancels or returns an order, they keep tabs as well. Use this information against you any chance they get. You willl never get paid. By never I mean in order to get paid, you will have to send multiple emails in the months after your sale in the hopes that someone might look up the tracking number you provided and mark the order as delivered. These emails will also count toward that tab. They will try anything not to pay you. They will lie and say a tracking number is fraudulent or that the package never sent... holding your money. They will say the customer hasn't confirmed delivery. They can barely answer simple support questions, nonetheless keep tabs of every order tracking, delivery and payment status. When I say it's a disaster, I am not exaggerating. They also scam the uship couriers and buyers out of any last penny they can. They will violate their own terms of service without a second thought. They will never hold themselves accountable for the mistakes that happen on their end. And if you speak out at all, you will be threatened and your account closed. It's a tragic, tragic place to do business and is tantamount to a scam operation.
Answer: I'm asking myself the same question, but not only do you provide your credit card information in advance, but they actually CHARGE your card for the offer amount BEFORE the seller even sees OR accepts the offer! If they don't accept it, then you have to wait 3-5 business days to receive a refund! Are you kidding me? They are making interest off of the week that YOUR money is in THEIR account! How can this be legal for you to pay for something that may not even be available for the price you have offered? And I'm being charged $19 to ship a small boudoir pillow PLUS a $5 SERVICE FEE which goes to Chairish for "administrative & credit card fees"? I am totally disgusted
Answer: All Chairish offers is a public comment space which the seller can ignore to its advantage (as happened to me). I posted comments that were ignored, too. I suspect that Chairish cares only about shipping, for which it charges an outrageous $299+
