I experienced obstacles in my attempts to withdraw funds from the investment platform. It quickly became apparent that the website I was dealing with was fraudulent, particularly due to their incessant demands for further deposits. After reaching out for help, I found several online accounts associated with A - C - T - I - N - V - S - T - L - T - D.C(0)M. The knowledge gained from these accounts was instrumental in facilitating the recovery of my entire investment.
I received my first purchase today. It is a triple chinoiserie dresser. I paid $650 for an exquisite piece of furniture. It arrived spotlessly clean and in excellent condition. The driver, Rod was very nice. I have 4 other pieces coming and I can hardly wait. I could never have found this without Chairish. I plan on selling some pieces, too. Chairish, you make furniture shopping amazing. While others are waiting 3 or months or more for pressed wood from inexpensive furniture stores, I am looking at my beautiful dresser that came in 2 weeks. I would love to keep you as my own secret furniture place, but that would be selfish. I hope everyone keeps up this kind of quality recycling.
I have found some amazing items for a great price. Your individual experience will depend on the seller you're dealing with. Two items I ordered were promptly shipped and arrived in the promised condition. The seller for another item is taking their time. The main thing I don't like is there is a "logistics fee" you have to pay when you check out that is not disclosed beforehand, which has ranged from $29 to $70. I haven't seen this on other similar sites and is ridiculous when you consider they're already collecting a commission. I'd love to keep shopping here, but I'm going to preferentially use 1stdibs until they get rid of the logistics fee.
I purchased a light for my island on Chairish. Received it on a Tuesday, broken. I immediately took pictures and contacted customer service. I received an email back later that day detailing what photos they need. Didn't hear back after sending many photos. By Saturday I emailed back asking for an update and how I can finish settling the matter. Heard back that evening that they need more time to "research" the situation. Here it is over a week later and no word from them. When you call you WILL NOT get through. They make it seem like they have SO MANY calls and they will get back to you, but that remains to be seen. I'd think long and hard about ordering from Chairish. Is it really worth the headache when your expensive item arrives broken and you want a refund? It has seriously been a colossal waste of my time. AND it's still sitting on the floor in my kitchen where I went to unwrap it and realized it was broken. $#*!s.
The reviews on Chairish are extremely poor and rightfully so. I had an awful experience and customer service seems interested in only your money. You will be charged on both the delivery and return of an item such as a carpet, even if the seller misrepresents the condition of the item. The color of the rug I got did not match what was in the online pictures at all. I still had to pay over $500 for the delivery and return for a carpet that I returned. They should offer free shipping and return for higher priced items. People have a right to return an item for little or no cost if it's not what they bought. Go with eBay.
For the jacked up prices and inflated shipping and handling, you might expect to get items that are clean and in good condition. Don't count on it. If there is a unique item you absolutely must have, maybe give it a whirl? But otherwise steer clear. I ordered a sideboard and got it in about a month (not great but ok). It was filthy (black and yellow residue, plus dust which is NBD). AND it smells like cigarette smoke. Still. Based on others' reviews I doubt I have any recourse except to keep cleaning and hope for the best.
Who charges their customers an additional service fee of $14.00 to purchase merchandise from their platform? WTH. A $14 service fee is added to each purchase to support their platform. How is that my responsibility? The fee should be absorbed by Chairish or seller. Such a rip off!
I purchased a vintage coffee table. It was advertised as possibly having small defects or signs of age and unaltered, but instead had two huge cracks/breaks across the entire table. The cracks/breaks were poorly repaired and two braces were hammered into the underside to keep the table in one piece. Also, an unknown substance was applied over the original finish in an attempt to hide the cracks/breaks in the table. This substance melted in the heat during shipping and adhered to the shipping materials. When the shipping materials were removed, pieces of the finish were pulled off. The table was sticky, congealed and gunky. I sent Chairish photos and they have stated they will return my money "once the item is picked up" by a shipper - no date given. They are absolutely scammers and are aiding this seller in perpetrating fraud.
Their site only publishes positive feedbacks. Customer service non-existent and qualitatively from third world. I had to open a dispute on Paypal to get my money back which I will automatically receive after 40 days.
Their customer service designed specifically to simply induce a nervous breakdown. They are not liable for damages caused by their sellers. If you want your nightmare, this is the right place to shop!.
I have been communicating with Chris for 6 weeks regarding my damaged sideboard. Seller listed as 'no imperfections'. When item arrived it was barely wrapped and had 'gouging' damage to the center top of the piece and scratched off finish to the left of the damage in the picture. Every week I receive another request for information or pictures. Sometimes they make an 'offer' for settlement. I've had it.
I've been a Chairish shopper for awhile and usually I am satisfied, but my latest purchase never arrived. And after going back and forth trying to get my refund, I finally had to file a fraud claim with my bank to get my refund. This is the second time I had to get a third party involved. I purchased a $2,500 French barometer and when it arrived, it was damaged through shipping. I felt it wasn't wrapped properly for such an expensive antique from the 18th century. Again, after going back and forth with Chairish and contacting the BBB, I got a refund. This has been my experience with Chairish so good luck!
I am a regular consumer/seller online. I use Mercari, Poshmark, and ebay. I went out on a limb to give Chairish a try as a buyer... it has been the worst experience! Chairish doesn't make their sellers ship in any required amount of time (my purchase shipped over a week later) and the claims process to get a refund is a nightmare! Their customer service is outsourced internationally and is so slow. I will never buy on Chairish again.
I have some experience buy antiques on a global basis and recently came across the Chairish website and thought I would try it out. Without an exception this is the worst site I have ever dealt with both in terms of product quality and shipping. I purchased 4 items and with out exception they are all not what their images on the website propose to be. For example one item a copper planter (see pics). It came completely damaged and I later found out they shipped it in a bad to our re-shipping agent. I bought a tray that says origin USA only to find out it was made in China and it is badly painted. I bought an art deco tray in the image and description no mention of damages which they tray (but it was the least damaged and I am okay with it). Clearly Chairish is responsible to it members to make sure are not deceiving the public.
Well, my order was delivered, but so severely damaged (both front legs broken in three places, one drawer jammed shut with probable damage to the drawer molding, missing trim exposing bare wood) I had to refuse delivery of this beautiful, unique item. In removing it the delivery personnel damaged my solid mahogany living room floor. I paid Chairish $2,174 on May 13 by credit card (including $399 for the worst delivery I have ever experienced) and today, June 30,2019, they are holding all of my money and not offered to fix the floor. They have required me to spend hours taking, resizing and sending photographs. A very sad experience.
I so want this business to work! But calling their contract delivery service (not Chairish themselves, who are smelling their own --- well you know --- in San Francisco) I was informed by a customer service representative that I had missed the deadline of Friday to confirm delivery for the next week (I called Saturday morning). Not having been informed of such a deadline, I must assume that their instructions include "treat customer like a biyuch" none of which re; ates to the delivery of furniture to reasonable people. By the way, I had to confirm with the phone customer service rep that my order was a "Philadelphia-style Reproductive Queen." Just deliver the furniture, please, for $399.

This company does nothing to honor their stated cancellation or return policies. In fact, they avoid customer calls/emails on these matters. I've had to open a paypal claim against them. Awful. Don't buy from them. Ever.
Absolutely horrible! Stay away! Item came damaged. The company wont take responsibility.
I believe many sellers ship off their defective items then blame the movers, etc... It's been a horrible situation, spent over 2 thousand on a console and no response.
Sell at your own risk - we're talking 2-3 day turn around via EMAIL and then after you get a reply, it's not super clear to address your concern. This has not happened once or twice... three times to me. Sad too. We need a good site for quality items to be sold.
Ordered an armoire we loved on January 13 and received an email labeled "shipping update" that night. The email stated "deliveries typically happen very quickly following pickup (5-10 days)." Another email had stated "In-home Delivery items will typically take 3-6 weeks." We finally received it March 30. Maybe not a typical result, but keep your eyes wide open and be ready to wait twice as long as they say.
Why is it described as curated? The web site is full of fake and wrong description!
20% commission is insane, especially the poor customer service, the long delay for delivery (it can be more than 8 weeks!). No guarantee for the buyer nor the seller.
That website has been created by peoples who only want to make money and are totally disrespectful with their clients and customers... Sad
Chairish has a lot of variety in their listings and I'm sure the individual sellers are great. But the whole point of using their service is to arrange the logistics, and unfortunately they're terrible at that. The moving service damaged my stairwell when they delivered a dresser I purchased. By some miracle, the dresser wasn't damaged. I took photos immediately afterwards. After three emails and three phone calls, complete with the usual "let me transfer you" and then hanging up on me, I got an email a full month after my delivery saying they would not reimburse me at all for the "white glove delivery" fee. What an awful experience.
Answer: Mary, because, simply put, it's a truly freaking awful place to be a seller. Yes, their commission is huge, but that's not even the beginning of the problem. It's also true that on the outside, it looks like a relatively professional, albeit middling enterprise and buyers trust it at first. I understand why you ask this question. But the people behind the scenes, every single one of them from VP's down, are disgustingly petty, cruel, dishonest, manipulative, cold, strange, socially inept, paranoid and just disrespectful people. They treat sellers like absolute garbage, suspect them of the worst, offer no freedom as to the listing, barely can get something listed in 2 or 3 weeks, then suddenly they all list at 2 am on a Sunday with messed up pictures. The more you sell, the more hateful they become toward you. Every time you ask for them to fix or help with something, they keep score. Every time a client has a question about their order or cancels or returns an order, they keep tabs as well. Use this information against you any chance they get. You willl never get paid. By never I mean in order to get paid, you will have to send multiple emails in the months after your sale in the hopes that someone might look up the tracking number you provided and mark the order as delivered. These emails will also count toward that tab. They will try anything not to pay you. They will lie and say a tracking number is fraudulent or that the package never sent... holding your money. They will say the customer hasn't confirmed delivery. They can barely answer simple support questions, nonetheless keep tabs of every order tracking, delivery and payment status. When I say it's a disaster, I am not exaggerating. They also scam the uship couriers and buyers out of any last penny they can. They will violate their own terms of service without a second thought. They will never hold themselves accountable for the mistakes that happen on their end. And if you speak out at all, you will be threatened and your account closed. It's a tragic, tragic place to do business and is tantamount to a scam operation.
Answer: I'm asking myself the same question, but not only do you provide your credit card information in advance, but they actually CHARGE your card for the offer amount BEFORE the seller even sees OR accepts the offer! If they don't accept it, then you have to wait 3-5 business days to receive a refund! Are you kidding me? They are making interest off of the week that YOUR money is in THEIR account! How can this be legal for you to pay for something that may not even be available for the price you have offered? And I'm being charged $19 to ship a small boudoir pillow PLUS a $5 SERVICE FEE which goes to Chairish for "administrative & credit card fees"? I am totally disgusted
Answer: All Chairish offers is a public comment space which the seller can ignore to its advantage (as happened to me). I posted comments that were ignored, too. I suspect that Chairish cares only about shipping, for which it charges an outrageous $299+
Chairish has a rating of 1.6 stars from 160 reviews, indicating that most customers are generally dissatisfied with their purchases. Chairish ranks 652nd among Furniture sites.
