I sent in a 18 month old iPhone 5 and was quoted $120. The phone had a case, protective screen and worked perfectly. A received a check for $10 two weeks later and when I called to inquire they said phone had multiple problems and $10 was fair market value. When I requested to have phone back because I believe that are full of BS they stated I already passed some deadline and the phone was recycled. "Melanie" stated nothing they could do. This company is a scam! Stay away!
Cashforlaptops gave me an amazing quote for my three month old Nokia phone online, then suddenly after some days they sent me an email regarding revised quote of my phone. The new quote was a little more than half of the previous quoted value. According to their terms and conditions I had only five days to request for my device be sent back to me. Then they insisted me to file my request via phone. I called Cashforlaptops to get my device back. Although, I got connected to a customer service representative in a short time, he said my phone’s screen was broken and was not working well. I am pretty sure that I sent my phone to them in very good condition. I have no idea how they could come up with something so ridiculous. Don’t believe everything they say!
If I could rate it lower, I would. I shipped my Sony Laptop to them. My laptop was working perfectly. Initially, they quoted me 150.00. After receiving my Laptop, they said they will pay me $65 instead of $150. That was so annoying! I called their customer service immediately. Luckily, I got a really polite customer service person with whom I could discuss the price and bring it up to $125. I would have much rather preferred that they sent my phone back to me so I could sell it on eBay instead. But hey! I'll take whatever came my way!
Cashforlaptops quoted $250 for my HTC Phone, but they changed their offer after some days and I received a check in the mail for only $125. When I called them, they said my phone was not in a working condition. I can barely comprehend that because my phone worked perfectly fine when I sent it out. There was nothing wrong with that phone. I refused to accept their new quote and quickly called them. I wasn’t sure if their customer service was available on Saturdays or not, but, fortunately, my call went through. A lady informed me that they could not give me my device back as a check had already been issued in my name. She did, however, say that because I called within the 5 days of receiving the check (because I had received no notice before), she would hike the offer to $140 and issue a new check. Well, yeah thanks, Cashforlaptops! That extra 15 bucks are going to change my life! NOT!
Cashforlaptops quoted $90.00 for my used Laptop. They informed me through an email that they will send me a confirmation email after my phone got inspected, Moreover, I was told that I had the freedom to accept or reject that price and get my laptop back if I wanted to. Then, after some days, I got an email stating that a payment had been processed. I was assuming it will be a check for $90.00 or something close to that amount. But I was shocked to receive a check for $54.00. I immediately called them, and my call was transferred to the purchasing department in a timely fashion. I talked to one of the executives and demanded my phone to be sent back. She said that she can't do anything about my phone as it has already been processed for recycling. I was pretty annoyed! I felt like a fool for walking right into their trap. What a total Rip Off!
I sent Cashforlaptops my ipad which was only two months old and in perfect condition. I was promised $150 for it. They sent me $80 and told me my phone has been recycled and gone. When I called them, I was able to talk to someone on the phone right away, who then quickly transferred me over the Purchasing Department. After patiently being on hold for about 10 minutes, I was told that I couldn’t request for my phone to be returned to me because it was past their 5 days grace period. They were able to jack up the price a little, but that was it. At least I didn’t have to wait forever to speak with someone! There’s some positivity! All I’d like to say is that you need to stay clear of cashforlaptops.
Cashforlaptops gave me an attractive quote, and because of my greed, I failed to do my homework on this company before sending them my phone. I was surprised how they could do this to me. They gave me half of the amount that was quoted to me. They said my phone had “major technical issues” and has been processed already. I called them many times, but each time they give me the same reason and refused to do anything about improving the situation. I was frustrated and annoyed and in the end I accepted their low ball offer. I feel so defeated!
They offered $160 for my used laptop, so I sent it to them. Then, two weeks later, they sent me a revised offer of $100. No explanation was given whatsoever, despite the fact that my laptop was working perfectly fine and was in very good condition. I called their customer service, where I was put on hold for two minutes before getting transferred over to their purchasing department. The representative in the purchasing department gave me lots of excuses as to why they had revised the initially quoted amount. I knew the exact condition of my device when it was sent out. So, I argued with them to give me my device back! I was annoyed of this whole new quote thing. They refused to send me my laptop back, but gave me a counter offer for $125. I accepted that offer because my argument with them wasn’t exactly going places. Very unprofessional people.
My company deals with an international supplier that gives us pretty good deals on bulk purchases of electronics, we recently attempted to "good faith" business with these people, and they quite literally went from 1100 per down to 600 per for brand new items (only opened to inspect the barcodes).
For all future customers of this website BEWARE
Cashforlaptops offered me $90 as the initial quotes but ended up sending me a check for $50. In their terms, it was mentioned that if the customers weren’t happy with the offer, they should contact them within five days of receiving the offer. I did the same, but my 5th day ended up being on a Saturday. Fortunately, Cashforlaptops has regular business hours on Saturdays, so I was able to reach them easily. They took a couple of minutes to connect me to their purchasing department, but it was all worth it in the end as I got a relatively higher offer by $50. I’m sure that if I had sold it to some other site, I would have gotten a much better offer. All in all, I am glad they were able to increase their ridiculous offer, but not happy with the service as a whole.
It's a super scam! I sent them my laptop that I had a professional remove my hard drive from. The professional can attest that the laptop was fully functional before being shipped to them. They sent me pictures of a broken laptop and told me the screen wasn't working and that now my laptop is worth nothing. The broken laptop in the pictures doesn't even look like it's mine. They are horrible! DO NOT TRUST THEM!
Other websites were quoting me relatively less for my HTC phone than cashforlaptops. Cashforlaptops was giving me $70, so I sent my HTC phone to them. After two weeks, I received an email saying that it is now worth only $35. What!? I was forced to wonder if they simply gave me a fake quote to lure me into the deal? Or did the price of my phone actually drop in the past couple of days? I honestly couldn't tell! What I could tell was that I wasn't getting my phone back. It was a horrible experience!
Quoted me $280 for a nice laptop and, after they received it, sent me my "congratulations, your laptop has been inspected and accepted" and that I would be sent a check for $39. I asked them five times to return the laptop and each time that directed me to some 800 number. Even dealing with them through the BBB was tough. They finally told me that my laptop had entered their system and was unrecoverable. I didn't even get the $39 check.
Cashforlaptops has not given me the amount they initially quoted on their website. Cashforlaptops quoted me $150 for my HTC phone and after some days sent me a check for $95. I only found out about it when I came back home from a weeklong trip with my friends. Fortunately though, I was able to talk to someone on the phone right away who then quickly transferred me over the Purchasing Department of cashforlaptops. I was told that I couldn’t request for my phone to be returned because it was past their 5 days grace period. They offered me a hike of $5 for compensation. So I accepted their new offer. But still I am not satisfied, but I will give them an A for effort on their customer service.
Used there website and got a quote for my laptop for about 300 to 360 and it was a great laptop no reason to junk it at all and when i sent it in i got an email for a quote for only 23 dollars them trying to say that it has a bunch of body damage the hard drive was faulty and it was missing one key from the keyboard (a windows key). They then sent me pictures of the lid of the keyboard which was dirty from them and the keyboard with the backlit keyboard off trying to say the hard drive was bad and it wouldnt turn on. But i had gotten pics of it right before i sent it so i knew they where lying. I got my computer back ( after paying 30 dollars in shipping) and sold it on ebay for alot more then even there brand new quote
Recently, I sent in my Samsung Phone in an excellent "just out of the box" condition. All accessories were included. The Cashforlaptops.com took website quoted me $180, but after they had my phone in their custody, they only provided $77. They are still quoting $200 for a trade value for this device. They didn't respond to any of my questions once I finally got hold of someone after 10 minutes waiting period. Never again will I deal with them! They Just make fool of you and rip you off.
Do not send your devices to Cashforlaptops. They quoted me a good price online but paid only half of it. I contacted them to request that my device be sent back to me. I was hesitant to make the call at first because of all the negative reviews I was reading online about long wait times. Luckily, in my case, that didn’t happen. I was connected with someone in the purchasing department within minutes. Hopefully, others will give their customer service a shot too. It is worth trying if you can get some extra money out of it. After a really long discussion with them, I was able to get my phone back. I almost feel like that is a once in a lifetime kind of a chance, but really guys! There’s nothing more to lose! Would you rather let them just take your electronic device or would you fight for it? It is your call!
I have sold laptops through the Internet before. Cashforlaptops quoted me over $150 for my 1 year old Toshiba laptop. I told them it was not functioning and would not turn on. I never got an email stating what they were going to give me after inspection. I received $53! I called and they said they sent out an email regarding the amount, finally I found one email in my junk folder, and after that they said my phone has been recycled. This place is a scam. Don't sell your laptop to them for pennies.
Please save yourself from trouble and do not send your phone to Cashforlaptops.com. As they say, if it sounds too good to be true, then it probably isn't. This company has no intention of paying you their first offer or returning your phone. I wish I had read the reviews before I sent my phone to them. The company is untruthful.
After sending in two Nokia Phones, both in good condition, for which Cashforlaptops quoted me $160 in total, I got an email saying that they will pay me only $110. Without a doubt, I rejected their offensive offer and demanded my money back. I had to literally fight them for my phone and because I had called them within the 5 days as stated in their policy, I was able to get my phone back. They need to improve their customer service so that they don't waste the customers time arguing over a device.
