When I arrived to pick up the car in Tallinn, the rental company had not received the booking although I had all the booking codes and all. They booked me the car straight from the desk at the same price and said that when the booking comes through they will cancel it for me and Carflexi will refund the booking fees. The rental company was nice and professional and all was good with the car. They informed me about the cancellation when the booking came through and assured refund would be processed.

After countless emails between the rental company and Carflexi for 2 months, no confirmation that I will ever receive back my booking fees, regardless of the fact that the rental company has asked them to process it and that it was never my fault. All emails I receive from Carflexi are to find a reason why it's my fault and how to avoid paying back 164 euros. Loss of earnings now also for the car rental as I am a regular long-term renter and have now again rented a car through a different provider for 5 weeks.

If anyone from Carflexi reads this comment and would like to fix the issue -Voucher No: CFC908B0

First of all, I felt I bit of xenophobia from the woman on the counter (for me to be Brazilian in Portugal). She was imitating my accent and when I showed her my Irish driving license, she asked "is this a legitimate document? You aren't irish"

There were some information not provided when you rent a car online (you are actually not renting but booking, you pay for the booking thinking that you are paying for the all package, but when you see the contract there are some numbers that god knows where are coming from) I ended up paying 3 times the amount I thought I would pay.

Also the car was not the same category as I paid and the hood was opened (I figured that out when driving past the long bridge there, couldn't stop). When I said that to the person in charge of the return she said I should have check everything (but I saw other people getting their cars as well, I could not see anyone check if the hood was open).
Poor quality service provided.
I would not recommend this company for anyone, apart from the attitude of the staff they did not provide a safe vehicle for me to drive.
Stay away specially if you are Brazilian.

I booked a car for 6 days on my travel to Mauritius via Carflexi. The voucher that I received upon paying for the initial deposit did not contain any information about the actual vendor. The instructions were clear in that someone would meet us at a designated exit gate at a pre-agreed time. SO we land on time, get the designated area on time and lo and behold, no one is there. We walk around for ages, asking different people if they were looking for our party. We then resort to calling the contact number on the voucher which goes through to voicemail. I then proceed to go round all the other car rental agencies I can find wonderign if they can find us on their list. But no luck. Eventually, I am forced to book another car.

We were due to be met at 0830 at the exit gate. At 11, the rental agency contacts us from the Soleiro agency claiming that they're waiting for us there. Are yous serious?

And so comes the ordeal with Carflexi. I contact them to complain about the no-show and the ordeal I then went through. And their response is to side with the vendor. They don't take any blame at all for their failings. At this moment in time, I've lost my deposit, despite having done everything correctly. Turned up on time, called when there was a no-show, etc.

And it's not like they were hugely cheap either. The main reason I booked via their website was for the convenience of being met at the gate.

Please do not use their service. It's a waste of time and money with poor customer engagement. I will post this everywhere I can to deter potential customers from taking a risk that just isn't worth it.

Total Disaster - Untrustworthy - Our worse Car Hire experience ever!
We hired a 7 seater car via CarFlexi to pick it up from Madrid Airport (voucher from Firefly Car Rental). It turned out to be a disaster beyond our imagination. The car wasn't the right one (a 5 seater with two small foldable child seats in the boot with no space for our luggages), Tried other car hire companies and the price was 4 times more for the same car... Firefly was as rubbish as CarFlexi's customer service. Neither helped us whatsoever. In fact they put the phone down on us. 7 of us with children spent over 3 hours in the heat of the airport car park and finally we had no other option but to book 2 cars instead of one. Firefly cheated on the price again, and they did not accept any of the insurances purchased from CarFlexi... Finally we spent more than twice of the price we initially booked. They ruined our holiday. On our return we spent over an hour to return the Cars... It was a total disaster. Do not try any of them. 0 Star for both!

Car flexi offered an 8 day hire for a ford ka for £204. I paid a £60 pound deposit and expected to pay the remainder at the car hire desk in Sardinia. What I did not realise, on paying the deposit and receiving a confirmation email, was that I had to then log in to their site and collect a voucher which we then have to send to the actual car hire company. I realised this only when getting to Cagliari airport, where I was told by the car hire company that I had to send them this voucher. The voucher said I had to pay 264 EUR (£224) at the desk, meaning the total cost was £284!

I had no record of the original advertisement to prove that the advertised cost was £204 and their customer services refused to acknowledge that they had changed the price after I had paid the deposit. I have never dealt with a more deceitful internet broker. I genuinely felt like i'd been conned.

If for some reason you do have to use this company - take screen shots of everything. Having said that - you shouldn't need to, so just don't use this company. They are simply trying to con you. They deliberately complicate the vending process in order to fool customers who rightly assume in this day and age that renting a car should be a very simple process. It is quite extraordinary to come across an organisation that uses swindling tactics of a bygone age.

We used the site to make a booking of a car for one day after the website advertised it could get us a deal. We were told in an abrupt email, at 4 pm the day before we were meant to pick up the car, that there was no car available through that company. We called the hire company directly and within minutes were able to book a car. We were able to collect the car earlier, the price was cheaper and the process more efficient. When I called to submit a complaint to their office, I was met by rude responses telling me it wasn't their fault and that I was wrong. They then also revealed that they were declined the booking immediately after we tried to make it, meaning they wasted our time and only told us at the last minute. After trying to defend the fact that they couldn't do their job properly, they promptly hung up the phone without assuring me that my complaint had been formally registered and passed on to the manager. This company is awful and you would do well to avoid it at all costs. They have one job and they suck at it.

In december 2019, I rent a car with Trifty/Hertz Romania for 18 days on the Carflexi platform. After two days, the tire pressure light on and I discovered that they were summer tires, with an uneven degree of wear and below the authorized limit (0.063 inch) and with the inner edges very smoothly! (In Romania, in winter conditions - December, January, February - winter tires are compulsory by law). This changed all my vacation. After seeing the car tires, the staff at the counter apologized and they tried to find a tire center to change them. They couldn't find anything the same day or the next day. Keeping the car in these conditions was a danger to me and my family and I had no choice but to return the car and payed for the five days that I had it. But Carflexi is refusing to reimburse me $181 for the 13 days that I didn't had it. Their return policy is very arbitrary. They wash their hands of all responsibility. If you wanna throw your money on the window, Carflexi is the the place...

From the rental company I understood that this happenes a lot when you order by carflexi.

DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY! They have scammed me for 4 weeks of insurance. I tried to amend the dates of my travel well in advance of my trip(3 days) however the website sent the error message 'there are no cars available for the time period you have entered'. This, regardless of the fact I was amending my booking within the period already booked. I tried even a single day and nothing was available. When I telephoned their office to inform them that the website was broken, they told me to contact their partner and amend the car booking directly with them. This I did by phone. It was then I was informed that the deposit I had paid to flexicar was in fact the insurance amount and that the car rental company had received nothing. I spoke to carflexi's Adelaide office and advised them of my updated car booking and asked them to amend the insurance period to bring it in line with the new car rental period. They told me that they would need to see the confirmation which I immediately sent by email. To my horror, I received an email 3 days later, informing me that as I had not updated my booking on their website, it was now too late for the insurance to be moved. That is when I contacted the Australian Financial Services Complaints only to learn they had been de-registered in 2018. This explains why none of the correspondence provided an ABN! An honest company would have had no problem accommodating my request. The broken website is the scam. BEWARE!

I specifically reserved an SUV via the CarFlexi site, and I had good reasons for this (weather conditions for example). Upon arrival at the car rental office, I was told that they didn't actually have an SUV vehicle in their fleet and I was given a 2WD vehicle which was nothing like what I had booked. CarFlexi informed me that the car I received fell under the same category as the car I had booked according to the provider and refused to discuss the matter any further. I maintain that if I book a certain product from an intermediary, I expect to receive what I paid for. If the provider doesn't have SUVs, don't advertise and charge for a whole category entitled "SUV".

I would like to describe the situation with my car booking on CarFlexi. I have booked a car for 7 days from Sabiha Gokcen Airport Istanbul. It was written in the voucher that I would be met with a sign with my name near 18 columns outside the the airport. My plane landed at about 20:00 and I was at the appointed time at about 21:00 BUT THERE WAS NO ONE! Nobody met me, the answering machine of car rental company "Essence car rental" was not working. I waited 2 HOURS after all I had to contact another company which organized everything perfectly within 15 minutes. As a result my wife froze waiting for 2 hours I was stressed because my vacation started off disgusting. I would like to see your comment on this. I have chosen you from many sites and I hope that everything will be perfect. What I have now, more expensive car and no returned deposit. I awaiting comment from CarFlexi for more then 7 days but no reply and I will continue to write them all the time until I get my deposit back! Thanks!

Take the money two times!

Don't go with CarFlexi! They will take your money two times! First ammount it is said on website carflexi and then ALSO at the rental desk! In my case the ammount i paid on CarFlexi was over 180 EUR and at the rental desk i paid extra MORE than 200 EUR! When i booked the car in their internet side, i thought that is final cost (Ok, some extra at rental desk but not double!) but it is not even half of the price you will still have to pay! And let us be clear, i did not want any extra insurance or upgrade, NO EXTRA STUFF AT RENTAL DESK! So, I WILL NEVER RECOMEND YOU RENT A CAR THROUGH CARFLEXI!

Beware of CarFlexi

I rented a car via CarFlexi web site. I received the car in the airport in Romania from a rental car company called InterRent. I purchased via CarFlexi web site "Excess Damage Protection" insurance. Part of the overall payment was payed to CarFlexi in their web site, and the rest should be paid at InterRent desk on the day I take the car.
To my surprise, InterRent charged me with a much higher amount than agreed in the contract with CarFlexi. They did not agree to deliver the car at the price agreed with CarFlexi. According to InterRent this is the price of the car, and it does not include any insurance in addition to what I purchased thru CarFlexi.
I didn't have a choice but to pay and take the car.
When I came back home I contacted CarFlexi. They shake off any responsibility from their side, and did not agree to refund me on the excess amount I paid. They say that I purchased additional insurance at InterRent desk, which I didn't. They said I had to contact them right away, but they don't give you any phone number, and as a tourist who has just landed I didn't even have a local sim card to call them at this point of time.
In short, if you don't want to be cheated, you better avoid any business with CarFlexi

'theft' by Carflexi

Carflexi had confirmed and, charged 33% for a car reservation through Carwiz-Crete, Greece 20Sept22 (REF: CF5667C0)
We arrived a few hours later on the day and were aggressively informed that NO car was available! Yet, Carflexi reserved funds and dismisses any accountability in this regard. International practice is to penalise for late drop offs of cars- NOT late arrivals, especialy where it has already been paid for!
How is it ok for Carflexi to reserve funds /confirm a transaction WITHOUT HAVING A CAR AVAILABLE FOR USE? How can Carflexi not be accountable for extorting money in this way?
Is this how Carflexi survives as a business?
Any suggestions on how to hold them accountable?

During the booking procedure, the customers can select the pick up and drop off time of a rental.
As stated in your confirmation voucher in case of any major delays the customer needs to inform the car rental company in order to keep the vehicle.
If for any reason there is deviation from the pick-up / return times or dates, extra charges could incur or even the desk / office be closed or the car might not be available any longer (essential to inform the car rental company in case of delays) and your booking treated as No Show. (OOH fee is included if applicable for the hours indicated on this voucher).

Cheating

Since it was not possible to rent a car, because of the dishonesty of this company, I wanted to return the prepayment, which they removed (read: stolen) from my card! Provided all the supporting documents that we were ready to pay for everything and take a car, but this is evident in the plans of this company is not included! Prior to this, correspondence was conducted for 2.5 months and each time new reasons about not returning funds! Here is their answer, which confirms everything: Dear Customer,
Thank you for your email.

Kindly note that the amount of the down-payment paid online is not related with the payment at the rental desk.

This means that the rental was not prepaid online. It was mandatory to accept to pay, except for the guarantee and the fuels, the rest amount for the rental that it was payable at the rental desk EUR 131.35.

Please check again the highlighted parts on your evoucher and your receipt attached.

The down payment is a part of the total rental cost and is not refundable or deducted from the remaining balance to be paid locally to the local car rental provider, nor is it shown on the invoice for the remaining balance that is paid to the local supplier. This advance payment is to reserve the car for the customer and protect the excess.

The online payment is part of the rental cost which is not deducted from the outstanding balance or refunded at the end of the rental period.

A refund can not be authorized.

Filthy SCAMMERS

The WORST car rental experience I have ever had. Booked a car through their site which lies about a discounted price. When I went to collect the car at Durban airport I cancelled the rental with Carflexi and rented direct from the agent due to all the hidden insurance costs. Carflexi refuse to refund my deposit stating that I rented the car through them. The voucher number from Carflexi was CF609AE1 and the voucher number on the invoice from the agent is E*******, CLEARLY NOT Carflexi voucher number. DO NOT as in EVER use this scam portal to book a rental car!
