Website is well laid out and the inclusion of full specs and installation instructions makes for easier shopping. Selection of lights is also excellent. Delivery is quick & reliable. It's too bad that purchasing in Canadian $ is not an option but this would likely increase the price to the point where it is better to use a Canadian credit card and pay the higher exchange charge.

A month after I ordered my products that order was cancelled because I was told they would not ship to me, but there was no explanation of why. I was reimbursed but still had to pay the $25 exchange rate change/fees for the currency change. Customer service was super challenging and only available on online chat. A month after I ordered my products that order was cancelled because I was told they would not ship to me, but there was no explanation of why. I was reimbursed but still had to pay the $25 exchange rate change/fees for the currency change. Customer service was super challenging and only available on online chat. I purchased 2 lamps the other day from Canada Lighting Experts - supposedly "Canada's #1 Shop For Residential Lighting". Today I just noticed that I was charged in US funds...not Canadian. I spoke with a horrible and rude customer service rep (Lanel Cortez) who basically said "too bad" and that I can return the package at my own expense.

Despite coming across as a Canadian company, they are not. Avoid purchasing from this very deceitful and predatory company at all cost!

I ordered outdoor light fixture it was delivered and as soon as you touched the box you could hear broken glass. They sent me a return and how do l know that the styrofoam it was packed in was ripped in half? Before you send out something make sure it is not broken and not a returned item. I should have known better there is no customer service. So disgusted l would never recommend anyone buy from them

My loud doorbell chime (made in China) has arrived on time but it was defective. It seem to have been a manufacturing defect. My emails to customer service we not answered. Eventually, I found a form on the website which was answered with about 1 week delay. The chime was replaced but it took about a month to get the working chime.

A replacement was requested on 6/25 and delivered on 7/9, so there was a short delay, due to the US holiday. I was so excited to stumble accross this company. Their products are beautiful and I was in the market for purchasing some lighting. I found the perfect lamps and small occassional table for my home. My enthusiasm was short lived, however, when I discovered that this is actually an American company, not a Canadian one as advertised, and that the cost for purchasing from this site would ultimately be in US funds. That aside, I was still interested in moving forward with my order because I fell in love with several items. I placed my order which amounted to $1700.00 (a lot of money for me). After two full weeks of hearing nothing and diligently checking their website, it appears as though my order has not even been processed, never mind shipped. I received a confirmation email that my Order would be shipped shortly and that I could track it. That is not true, there is literally no way to track the order. The Live Chat on their website is useless. When I try to prompt it, a message comes up that says they are closed for the holidays and will re-open on December 27th. It is now January 15th and the Live Chat still does not work. As well, when I attempted to contact the one and only number I could find, it is impossible to reach a real person, nor can I leave a voice message with their Customer Service Department. This website was beginning to feel a little sketchy to me so out of frustration, I cancelled my entire order and could not be more disappointed. I have never written a bad review for a company in my life, until today. I have the patience of a thousand people but I hate being misled, ignored and especially lied to. This is shameful service to say the least. What should have been a fun and exciting experience ended up as a complete and utter failure on the part of this company. Grrrrr.

This place is the worst. They claim that it is hassle free easy returns they pay all duties and taxes. If you have to return an item that came from St. Thomas Ontario they make you send it back to the Head office in California and make you pay all the shipping costs. WHY WOULD ANYONE want to do that.It is one thing if it came from California to return to California but it came from Ontario and then could not go back where it came from had to be sent to California. Why was it in St. Thomas. Worst place ever advertise what you actually do not what you do sometimes and don't just put it in small print at the bottom. Your website contains only positive information not all the facts unless you did deeper. I will caution anyone from dealing with this place.

Same as others I ordered from a company called Canadian Lighting, would I have to believe I would pay in any other currency? Yes you do have to pay in USA currency what a BS way to do business never ever ever going to get a penny from me again and hope this educates others.

I'm beginning to wonder if I have been scammed. I have waited over a month for my order. When I try to track it there is no info and when I call they are always offline and I get disconnected. If my order ever arrives I will never deal with this company again! EVER! My money is gone but can't reach a person to find out where my product is.

I requested to purchase an incandescent light fixture - the details of the product on the website was listed with such details. They sent me over 3 units that are LED integrated. I called the help desk and they informed me that this is a mistake on the vendor's part of putting the incorrect product details on the website. I was told verbally that I would receive a full refund and would not bare shipping costs.

Once the ticket was submitted, I was told that I would receive my refund when the product is shipped to me. However, they would not be reimbursing me the shipping cost of these three large items. This is completely unacceptable because Canada Lighting promoted a product with the incorrect details and now is expecting the buyer to bear the cost of their mistake. I am still in talks with the help desk but it is not looking good for me. I spent well over 300 dollars to buy all these lights. Completely baffled by the lack of customer experience. Do not buy from them.

Beware all prices are in USD. They don't specify and misleading clients when using "canadian" in their name. Very dissapointing and poor customer service.

Was quoted a price in CAD, so I purchased with my Canadian credit card. When the amount was posted on my card, it was over $15 higher than the quote they gave me. Why? Because they converted the price back into USD when they charged my card, so I paid more because of where the dollar was at and because of conversion fees. If I would have know this, I would have paid with my US credit card and not have been charged so much. Very deceptive - especially since their name is CANADALightingExperts. Not impressed.

Ordered on November 28th, 2020 and still didn't receive it in Mid December so called in and was told I would get an email on the status and of course I didn't get an email. Was patient and called again on January 7th, 2021 and was pretty much told the same thing and they claim it was a drop shipment so they don't handle the shipment and would receive an email within 24-48hrs. Well it's Jan 12th now and no email AGAIN. What is this customer service it is non existent and the tracking info links are broken and show nothing. I got scammed out of money for something that I will probably never receive and if it was on the way they make absolutely NO EFFORT TO FIND OUT WHERE MY SHIPMENT IS AND WHY IT IS TAKING SO LONG. Wish I just ordered the chandelier off HomeDepot and paid more. At least they wouldn't just screw me over.

Don't use this site!!!!!! Pay more at an reputable retailer like Home Depot and avoid nightmares like this.

Use caution as you think you are ordering from a Canadian company, but that is not true. I was charged in USD, and the lights were bigger than I expected (I measured) when I processed my return I learned I was shipping to a US address. Very costly lesson, I am good at doing my homework before I make an online purchase, this one got the better of me.

I order 2 pendant lights in March and 4 months later I am still waiting on 1 of the lights to arrive. Very poor communication and customer service. My first shipment was lost; it took them 1 month to acknowledge and send me replacements. Then the order was back ordered. When the replacement order shipped the second time I only received 1 out of 2 lights (only 1 was shipped). It has been over a month and I still have NOT received confirmation that the light is shipped yet. The last I heard 3 weeks ago was the item was on back order again until last week. When I followed up (after numerous phone calls) I was told they don't know what is going on. Once again no communication and no customer service. It's RARE that they reply to an email or call back. I have been extremely patient. Yes, they did offer to refund my money. I keep hoping that they will just ship my last light. These items do get shipped from the US so the price is in USD funds. They do take your money when your order is placed rather then when it ships. They do handle the customs and duty however as of July 2020 there is no duty on items under $150. To be honest for the hassle it is not worth purchasing from this company.

I canceled my order within 10 minutes of realizing it was billed in USD. Nearly two weeks later I heard back from someone indicating that it is now too late to cancel but they'd be happy to let me know how to return the items if I decided not to keep them. It's almost impossible to reach a real person beyond email.

NOT A CANADIAN COMPANY
I did order Nuvo Lighting - 65/333 - 40W 3500K 1 LED Flat Panel Flush Mount (Pack of 2) and they didn't send a pack of 2... just 1 item...
They are the worst... they charge in USD,,, yeah it's mention in small print... but not mention in the principal pages.
They don't send you the actual product description... it's easy... Pack of 2 mean that I have 2 product when I order the item 65/333.
They do not respond telephone call... they let me listening music for hours...
AVOID THIS PLACE
They are not honest, they trick you and they accept return, but the cost is crazy... none sens!
It will be cheaper to scrap their products than returning them...
NEVER EVER AGAIN!
***Update - Been weeks we email with someone that promises us to send us back the 3 lights missing (half of the order) but never received any tracking number, no sign of shipping product, just excuses... it's a real SCAM... AVOID THIS PLACE!

One would think that a company called "CanadaLightingExperts" would be based in Canada and list prices in Canadian dollars. Please reset your expectations. This company is based in California. The prices are listed in US dollars. Most companies that serve international customers have the decency to identify the currency before one is checking out.

In my case, I ordered three lights with the same SKU (2 by the garage and one by the front door). Three boxes are delivered several weeks later and one light is completely different. I complete the return process online. After a month, I received an email containing a "we are working on it" message. Now, two months has passed with no further communication. I still don't have the correct light.

If this company were located in Ontario, I would file a consumer complaint.

Tip for consumers:
Waiting until checkout to reveal that the pricing is in USD and that the order is shipped from outside Canada borders is deceptive, in my view. Not correcting an order after two months is incompetent. I do not recommend buying from this company.

The item I ordered was found via Google Search. However, when I tried searching via the web site for similar lights, the search didn't even return the light I was looking for! In addition, the coupon codes are highly misleading and changed multiple times (e.g., up to 25% for first time orders, up to 20% off with HELLO and then finally only a 16% discount was applied). The final kicker is presenting as a CANADIAN site and then charging in USD. The prices should clearly state "USD" beside them. If I had found these lights anywhere else, I would have gone elsewhere.

All though that is a slogan they put on their web page " the price you see is the price you pay" it's a total lie. The price you see changes the minuet you check your visa. They are too deceitful to put a Canadian dollar price on their items in hopes of tricking you. Then when you realize and try to cancel the order they say oh sorry it's already shipped. Even if you do this within hours of placing the order... it's always shipped. Then good luck returning, I'm in the process of this now and they sent me return slips that require me to pay the return. I'm in talks with them and we'll see what happens I guess. One more thing. The items arrived heavily damaged with big holes through every box. Not sure what it looks like In side and I'm not about to open to find out. I'm sure they will prolly try and ding me for that too. Ugh! Never again.

I should have known better when "Canada" Lighting charged US $ at checkout. But the "ceiling fan" was what I wanted and the price good, so I ordered 2. Installed the first light and reached for the fan blades - no blades. Called help line - very friendly, we'll fix this right away. A week later, no shipping notice. Phoned back. Call quality so bad I couldn't understand most of what was said, but gist was that the fan blades for the advertised "ceiling fan" were extra! So what I bought was a light fixture that had attachments for fan blades if I wanted to spend more US$ to get them. Thank you to Alex McArdle who understood my extreme frustration and helped with not a happy resolution, but at least a resolution. DO NOT BUY FROM THIS COMPANY. I don't know how they're still in business.
