The overall reputation of the company reflects significant dissatisfaction among customers, primarily due to inadequate customer service and a lack of accountability. Many reviews highlight issues such as harsh refund policies, unresponsive support, and problems with fraudulent listings, leading to frustrations over lost funds and unresolved complaints. While some customers appreciate the variety of accommodations offered, the overwhelming sentiment indicates a lack of trust in the company's commitment to customer satisfaction. To improve its reputation, the company must enhance its customer service responsiveness and take greater responsibility for the listings it promotes.

I had a recent cancellation of a booking made through booking.com. They could have easily denied me or approved the cancellation. Instead they blamed the hotel for the fees. I also contacted the hotel who told me they had no control over the booking.com reservation and booking.com was not being truthful by blaming the hotel. I found this to be true after some additional digging. Would NEVER use this site again.
After booking a hotel that looked nothing like the photographs on booking.com they then completely ignored any questions I asked in correspondence after the fact and very soon stopped replying completely.
Would not honor price match guarantee purchase a room through them 4 on a specific amount then check the hotel two weeks later and it was $112 cheaper there they gave me the run-around booking.com said they would try also asked me to send stuff emails links to the hotel had them even call and confirm the price was cheaper and still they blame the hotel inside the hotel should we fund me when I booked through them booking.com in the hotel said booking.com get paid 25% and that my beef was with booking.com and not the hotel and I should use the hotel directly next time isn't that quick
We are staying at St Nicolas Elegant Residence in Paphos. On arrival, the staff was very friendly and accommodating. Any requests are dealt with immediately. We stay in a lovely apartment spacious and clean with all the necessary equipment, big fridge microwave, oven, kettle etc. Relaxing view of the see and lovely pool from the big spacious balcony. Huge complex with great facilities, tennis courts, play park for children, sauna, indoor pool and gym. I will definitely return to St Nicholas Residence
Beware of booking.com... we had a very bad experience at a motel that we booked on booking.com. They made this place sound really great and made it sound very popular with "only 1 room left!" and it was their "top pick", etc. Booking.com bamboozled us! The Rodeway Inn in Winter Haven, FL was the motel and it was AWFUL... bed bugs, a strange odor in the room, very old and falling apart, the pool was filthy. We didn't stay in the motel because we were afraid to. There weren't ANY towels in the room when we arrived which we thought was strange but we left in a hurry so didn't think anything more of it until the manager/owner called us the next day and accused us of STEALING the towels and charged us $30 on our credit card. Booking.com sent us an email asking us to write a review on this establishment. I wrote a negative review and booking.com still hasn't published it on their website! If you ask me, booking.com is just as shady a business as the Rodeway Inn in Winter Haven FL. I would strongly advise against doing business with either one.
Worst hotel I have ever stayed in, no service, booked through booking.com at £80 a night, no breakfast included, one pillow per person, 4 coat hangers in cupboard, have to ask for toilet paper ( no spare rolls) in bathroom and they don't make the beds or clean the rooms. What am I paying for? Shocking and bad beyond belief. Booking.com does its reputation no favors keeping a hotel of this low standard in its list of hotels through which it portals bookings. Carol Theron. Booking no: *******595; 6092.
Do not use booking.com. They confirmed my reservation to me via email but did not make the reservation at the hotel. I had to make my own arrangements after arriving.
They took my money out of my bank account over $1000 without my permission they refuse to refund it very very bad business. For a reservation three months out now I know how come this app and website to make it so much money they're stealing it
One of the better examples how a hotel booking site should work. Easy to use with a clean interface, Used it several times and never had any problems. Five stars!
I booked one hotel in Italy without credit card details (booking number *******969). And when I had to cancel the booking later, I got message saying that 18 are deducted from account. Please deposit my money back.
In another case I booked one hotel with 10% charges (booking number *******933) and when I cancelled booking, I had to pay half of the hotel charge 70! This is not acceptable. In both cases I was not informed about there charges while booking.
After I booked with booking.com I found another site and the hotel directly were £100 cheaper. When I called booking.com to ask them to price match which they promote and promise they looked for any excuse to not do so (wording of the description of the rooms are different, we cant change your price, we cant contact the hotel etc. etc. Etc). Be very careful when using them and do your pricing research before booking as. As sure is eggs is eggs they will try their best to squirm out of honouring their price match guarantee
No teacher will use your service after your commercial based on incompetent airhead. Perpetuates stereotype of public school educators as incompetent, incapable of classroom management, teaching critical skills, or being passionate about importance of their careers. SHAME ON YOU!
I use booking to book a hotel on most trips I take. I have never has an issue with them at all. They are true to their price match guarantee and everyone I have ever talked to on their customer care line has been wonderful and so accommodating. I am a genius member and there are so many great deals. I will always use them!
I booked. Hotel in Washington D C. Upon arriving I asked at front desk about pool, replied they had no pool. I couldn't just walk out, it's Easter weekend. Everything was booked. I had specially took my granddaughters to Washington for education purposes and they love to swim. I go down to front desk next morning, informed them of the situation, showed them the advertisement from Booking.com. They totally agreed that they had mis lead me. They also had written that they had King Suites hotel informed me that was false. Called the company Booking.com sent them a copy of advertisement. Emma was leaving for lunch. Spoke to Matt he argued that it was Marriotts advertisement. They just wanted to blame another person.
Therefore, I'm for warning you do not book with Booking.com. They are the worst. I'm reporting to BBB.
Again, I will tell you, don't book with Booking.com
Amazing service loely place to stay very welcoming terry and Liz very happy with my stay would be coming back again
Cancelled motel room in Phoenix az 3 weeks in advance, motel charged cc 217.00 booking is no help to get a refund and the motel says it won't give refund because they did not get a notice of cancellation, I have an email dated 3 weeks before reservation of the cancellation from booking. No help from booking will not use again.
I booked a trip for my GS troop and had to cancel when told about medical problems and doctors didn't want me traveling. Troop is still being charged over $807. So they took the 807, canceled the reservation, and won't give a refund or option to stay another time. They are stealing money from little girls. Please don't use them!
Nashville Airpoort Inn and Suites, filthy, had to go to office at 10:00 to get sheets and blanket, no pillow for sofa bed they knew we would use. Bed was stained and very old. Mold in bathroom and doorways. Kitchenette was filthy with grease, no dished, pans r silverware, or drawers, broken lights, bare wires, a/c in livingroom, none is bedroom. I would never recommend this place, or stay there. We were boooked for 3 nights, and stayed 1 night because we were unfamiliar with area and surronding motels.
Got 2 nights charges back but not first night yet. I am going to report them to the health department. A true Nightmare. I would rate it minus 20.
Booked a hotel with a free cancellation option. However the small print stated that the hotel can charge from visa a 100% prepayment for the first 2 nights. 6k was deducted by the hotel from my visa immediately. I cancelled booking. A week has passed and I'm still waiting for my refund... can't use my visa as maxed limit
Booking.com allowed me to book, and confirmed, a great rate on a hotel in Hawaii. A few days later they emailed, asking to me cancel. My options were to cancel, or pay 6.5x the rate I was CONFIRMED to receive. The are offering nothing to make amends for this situation. Don't bother trying to get a great deal with them. It's probably a myth.
Answer: In my case they took my payment information and paid the hotel where I was going to be staying. Only to find out that the hotel was out of business and I had to prove that it was charged to my account. They did not find me a replacement hotel to stay in for the same price. Nor did they care that I was left without a place to stay. So beware before you purchase.
Answer: Don't waste time with booking.com. They have horrible customer service and will make every attempt to cheat you. Simply report the problem to your credit card company to get your refund.
Answer: Run. Run away. This company and the company used to insure their bookings are scams.
Answer: I don't know why you're even using this site Stephanie. Their after sales is disgusting! Recommend travel Republic. Great prices and options
Answer: You pay a non refundable price on line. When you check into your hotel, it's billed to your Bookings.com reservation plus incidentals (local calls, parking fees, resort fees, dining, bar fees, Europe charges local or city tax, spa fees...) the hotel will ask for a card as a hold for these fees. Use bookings.com, find the hotel you wish to stay in (get all info and contact them directly via website and price match) the Marriott in Rome had a room for $80.00 less on the Marriott website than these, so called MONEY SAVING SITES.
Answer: It depends on the hotel some don't charge until you arrive at hotel more will charge your card straight away check your booking it should tell you there
Answer: Trevago is hooked into Booking.com don't make a mistake and let trevago send you to booking.com go to Hotel.com which is more professional. I had to go to American Express customer serviced to complain and they gave a dead line for explanation. They had no explanation for crappy service and had to repay me.
Answer: NOT BOOKING.CON
Answer: You will need to pay taxes in addition to the quoted price. Call the motel and they will tell you about the taxes. A few places still don't charge exttra taxes e.g. Harris Ranch in California.
Answer: You can't. That's the whole idea. You provide a service, and your customers get to give their review of your place and your services.
