The overall reputation of the company reflects significant dissatisfaction among customers, primarily due to inadequate customer service and a lack of accountability. Many reviews highlight issues such as harsh refund policies, unresponsive support, and problems with fraudulent listings, leading to frustrations over lost funds and unresolved complaints. While some customers appreciate the variety of accommodations offered, the overwhelming sentiment indicates a lack of trust in the company's commitment to customer satisfaction. To improve its reputation, the company must enhance its customer service responsiveness and take greater responsibility for the listings it promotes.

I was quoted £1172 for 2 apartments in Prague however owner converted to koruna and this then resulted in a charge of £1256 which booking.com agree with.
Have used booking.com in the past but never again. Will always book direct with a resort in future. It can always be cheaper. They take excessive commission. Booking.com arranged the unauthorised and fraudulant debit of money from my credit card. Tried to blame it on the resort. Totally spoiled my holiday. Arrogance beyond belief. They need cutting down to size.
They charged me CAD15 to cancel my reservation booked a day ago. Don't trust what you see on booking.com. Be prepared to PAY something. The 15 Canadian dollars is not much, but the way they do business is unacceptable.
I was offered a sweet deal at a great price, however there was large machinery and excavation and construction going on on the beach the entire time!
The hotel could not do anything for me because I booked through this third-party agency, it's been almost 3 weeks now I have some of the multiple videos of construction going on until 3 AM in the morning, today I finally get an email back saying that they're willing to offer me $25 in compensation! I will never use them or a third party for a hotel again!
Do not use! Do not use! Do not use!
I highly advise you to NOT book with booking.com!
I can't even begin to explain how TERRIBLE and stupid there customer service employees are especially a guy named "Shaggy" Absolute worst experience!
I was trying to contact Booking.com through their customer service number as I needed to make a special request for our stay in Savannah, GA in June.
I called their customer service phone number,, *******958, on Friday, April 28th at 4:45 pm, MDT. I waited on the line for 6 minutes 8 seconds. I called back the same evening at 7:58 pm MDT, and waited 12 minutes 18 seconds. I called again the same evening at 9:43 pm, and waited 15 minutes, 6 seconds. I called again on Saturday, April 29th at 7:40 am, MDT, and waited 20 minutes and 52 seconds but still was not able to get through.
At this point, I have decided I won't be using Booking, com anymore and I also won't be using Trivago.com to book any future trips.
I tried to book hotel through booking.com and hotel they booked it was fully booked when we arrived in hotel, then hotel people refuse to give us room as booking. Com fault and we spent two hrs to speak with booking.com they refuse to help or doing anything very bad experience
If you are new to booking.com to list your house for vacation rental be very careful their policies are ridicules
Anybody from anywhere can book your house without paying anything, you cannot cancel it, your calendar is blocked for those dates, you have to Waite and see if the guest is going to show up or not!, if you cancel they might charge you for guest replacement fee! Soooo you as a home owners are screwed, i called the costumer service, they seem very lost and confused and because of that they are rude, anyways, finally in costumer service told me that I'm new and it will takes time to build relationship, my respond was it's fumy how anybody can just book my property without paying anything and I have to Waite and see if they will show up,! What kind of stupid policy is that? Finally they agreed to send a representative to my property for verification, after more than 10 e mails back and forward with booking REP Alyssia Santiago we made appointment, I had to re arrange few other appointments to visit Alyssa
LOL, she never showed up,
The bottom line is I'm renting my property for 3 years now and i have used more than 10 websites to promote or rent it but booking.com policies are so unfair and ridicules can be very damaging, in the first week of my registration I had 4 bookings only one was for real other 3 fake ones which i brought to their attention even i made the costumer service to call the number provided by the guest to prove it's a fake booking, guess what? Even though after it was obvious for them that it was fake, yet they told me I cannot cancel, if i do i might have to pay fees to booking.com and still my calendar was blocked,
I read lots of complaints that guests they had from booking.com in here I'm not sure what is the purpose of booking.com in insisting to make guest and home owners very unsatisfied
STAY AWAY FROM BOOKING.COM
Regards
MIKE
Unlike Hotels.com and Priceline.com that are extremely intuitive for consumers to use, Booking.com hides the refundable options and tricks the user into choosing the non-refundable option. The site emphasizes free cancellation, but it is actually for a refundable option that isn't easy to understand. And customer service was not helpful, even when I offered to send pics of the other sites and demonstrate how hard their site is to use.
Booking.com says that, after you book, the booking is 'guaranteed' - it isn't. Even after the hotel/apartment confirms it, they can do whatever they want (like cancel it 5 minutes before agreed arrival time!) and the response from Booking.com is "we act solely as an intermediary between you and the hotel", so they cannot and will not help you, and will not penalize the hotel/apartment for whatever they do!
Not only that, but they declined my negative review even after editing it as they requested. Months after, and many emails sent, the reply only with 'we are waiting for a response from our team', still not allowing me to add a review for the apartment that canceled my booking 5 minutes before my arrival time and treated me so badly.
They are such liars and fakes. I would never recommend a company that does such a thing, to be relied on. Make sure you always have a backup, as they will leave you on the roads or worse.
Stayed at a hotel in the west country that was no where near as advertised, so left a day early to get out of there!,, contacted booking.com to ask for the night be canceled and refunded as the hotel was not as advertised and 3 nights we had already been there was more then unbearable, booking. Com just dont reply!
Do these people actually have any way of contacting them? Terrible service and really shouldn't be in business with amount of unhappy customers
Booked well in advance for a event on the 18th may at the o2 anyway i wanted to pay on arrival so they assured me they only needed my card number to book,, i gave them my card details and they said its booked then i noticed it had gone out of my bank,, i have not had confirmation so i rang them today all in all 5 hours phone calls to them and my bank,, they told me no they have not booked me a hotel and they cant give me money back because he aint got authorisation to go in and look utter rubbish, ive toldmy back and i will get money back but they cant do anything until after the booking date grrr i said there is no booking date as they never booked but i have to wait until after 18th may,, in the meantime my friends and i have had to book another hotel and paid 200 pound out again i might add not with book, com,, this company is terrible and money pinching, please be warned
I recently made a reservation at a hotel in Rome, through booking.com. I purposely booked far ahead, so that I wouldn't have to worry about it a reservation at the last moment. To my surprise, my reservation was cancelled at the last moment due to an "invalid credit card". I checked the bank and there was nothing wrong with the credit card. It was clearly a ploy by the hotel and booking.com to attract a customer that would pay more for the room. DO NOT USE BOOKING.COM
Title says it all; arrived at hotel after a 10 hour day on the road- looked (and felt) like an idiot... had to continue to drive through to the next city but will not use this agency ever again
Booked a hotel with booking.com because they showed all of the hotels were booked and there was only one room left got into town check game and they had over 30 percent of the rooms left hotel was nasty couldn't get my money refunded because I use booking.com. Your best bet is if you're going somewhere and you check booking.com call the hotel because you can get it at a cheaper price and I have more availability than what they show don't be scared by there a little tactics like the whole town is sold out! Bad business for consumers
I am taking my mom to visit family in Austria in May 2017. I booked an apartment through Villas.com in November 2016. On Dec. 1/16 I received an email from booking.com stating that they had taken over Villas.com but that I didn't have to do anything - all except the owner stays the same.
On April 21/17 I was advised that my credit card on file had expired - on April 21 I updated my credit card information online and was sent a confirmation that I had done so.
Today - April 23/17 I received an email stating that my booking was cancelled as I did not have an up to date payment method. I tried to rebook the same residence but it would not accept my booking.
I called Booking.com and was on hold for 20 minutes. Once through to a live body I was told that it wasn't my fault - that it was there system that wasn't letting me book or rebook. They asked me to shut down the web page, clear my history and cache and try again. This didn't work. Then they asked me to create a brand new account. This didn't work. Then they asked me to wait 30 minutes (?) and try to do all the previous again. I asked them what would happen if in that time the residence I want is taken by someone else - how could I guarantee that I will still have this booking confirmed. The woman said, and I quote, "Yes, well, if you just wait the half hour then try it should work".
I waited 30 minutes, but also searched for the same residence on other similar web booking sites. In 30 minutes... same problem and what a PAIN having to recreate an account etc. etc.
Terrible, terrible TERRIBLE service, customer service... their mistake (by their admission) and no help whatsoever.
I found the residence on airbnb.com. Had it booked and paid for in five minutes with no issues whatsoever. In fact, I SAVED 29% since I was staying for an entire week!
Thank you airbnb.com. Booking.com??? NEVER - don't use them!

My 18 old daughter booked 3 nights in Barcelona as a present for her sister. The room was 100 per night. She received a email saying the Hotel would not honour the room and the room was now250 per night. After 45 minutes talking to a arrogant cocky lady she informed me no supervisor would talk to me. She then put me on hold again, then cut me off completely. This website is a disgrace and needs to be looked into by trading standards.
I booked a hotel via booking.com. Admittedly I was told there would be a 25% charge for cancellation. Fair enough! But I didn't want to cancel, I only wanted to change the date because our travel plans had changed. Booking.com were supposed to have contacted the hotel, to see if they would waive the charge. I don't believe they did this, as others in my party were able to change the booking they had made directly through the hotel without charge. I would never use booking.com in the future. One disgruntled, dissatisfied, never-to-return customer.
Your commercial with the kindergarten teacher is terrible. No kindergarten teacher would tolerate the behavior of those children.
This commercial is offensive, and portrayes teachers as ineffective and weak.
I booked a hotel in Dubai using booking.com but found out two days later the hotel was alcohol free! This was not indicated anywhere on the listing for the hotel on booking.com, so I phoned them and asked for a change of hotel, they refused as payment had already gone to hotel, and hotel refused to cancel (unless I paid full amount of booking fee again - over £1200). Booking.com did not even know themselves that the hotel was alcohol free, the guy I spoke to when trying to change my booking had to phone them to check. Even after that they still refused to change my hotel. I will never use this site again, I am now trying to get some of my money back under Section 75 of the Consumer Credit Act for misrepresentation of the sale of this hotel, and this is being dealt with by the Financial Ombudsman as my credit card is also refusing to refund me. What a nightmare!
Answer: In my case they took my payment information and paid the hotel where I was going to be staying. Only to find out that the hotel was out of business and I had to prove that it was charged to my account. They did not find me a replacement hotel to stay in for the same price. Nor did they care that I was left without a place to stay. So beware before you purchase.
Answer: Don't waste time with booking.com. They have horrible customer service and will make every attempt to cheat you. Simply report the problem to your credit card company to get your refund.
Answer: Run. Run away. This company and the company used to insure their bookings are scams.
Answer: I don't know why you're even using this site Stephanie. Their after sales is disgusting! Recommend travel Republic. Great prices and options
Answer: You pay a non refundable price on line. When you check into your hotel, it's billed to your Bookings.com reservation plus incidentals (local calls, parking fees, resort fees, dining, bar fees, Europe charges local or city tax, spa fees...) the hotel will ask for a card as a hold for these fees. Use bookings.com, find the hotel you wish to stay in (get all info and contact them directly via website and price match) the Marriott in Rome had a room for $80.00 less on the Marriott website than these, so called MONEY SAVING SITES.
Answer: It depends on the hotel some don't charge until you arrive at hotel more will charge your card straight away check your booking it should tell you there
Answer: Trevago is hooked into Booking.com don't make a mistake and let trevago send you to booking.com go to Hotel.com which is more professional. I had to go to American Express customer serviced to complain and they gave a dead line for explanation. They had no explanation for crappy service and had to repay me.
Answer: NOT BOOKING.CON
Answer: You will need to pay taxes in addition to the quoted price. Call the motel and they will tell you about the taxes. A few places still don't charge exttra taxes e.g. Harris Ranch in California.
Answer: You can't. That's the whole idea. You provide a service, and your customers get to give their review of your place and your services.
