The overall reputation of the company reflects significant dissatisfaction among customers, primarily due to inadequate customer service and a lack of accountability. Many reviews highlight issues such as harsh refund policies, unresponsive support, and problems with fraudulent listings, leading to frustrations over lost funds and unresolved complaints. While some customers appreciate the variety of accommodations offered, the overwhelming sentiment indicates a lack of trust in the company's commitment to customer satisfaction. To improve its reputation, the company must enhance its customer service responsiveness and take greater responsibility for the listings it promotes.

Booked a hotel, and the hotel said they didn't have room for the reservation. After 45 minutes on the phone with customer service they said they can send me options near by. I stated my displeasure with the situation and how frustrated I was and they said, there is nothing they can do and hung up.
Booked hotel 800 miles from home get there hotel said to many people for room put how many on booking. Com had 4 hotel said only hold 3 wanted me to pay for anther room called booking. Com they said hotels policey nothing they could do shouldn't they put that on there site stay away from booking.com had to come home no mony to rent another room didn't bugit for that
Within the first 3 minutes in the room I killed 2 gnats on bathroom mirror & thought nothing of it till I saw the shower; There was black mold on the grout throughout, not just 1 spot. The staff sent someone to clean it. But upon return from speaking with desk clerk, I killed another 9 gnats & an additional 16 only moments later! We then asked for another room. They accommodated us cheerfully. This room was better but killed two bugs on the floor during stay, The carpets were filthy in both rooms and pillows smelled bad in the second room. The staff was friendly and accommodating but the owner of this facility needs to invest back into this property in regards to cleanliness and sanitary conditions.
The hotel was a fleabag and not as shown on the bookings site. I left the hotel after 2 days (of a week long vacation). Worst experience and I will never again arrange travel/vacation from Bookings. Stay away!
It saddens me to read the poor reviews of Booking.com and again highlights the lack of knowledge from the reviewers. Booking.com is providing a service for many million small businesses to sell their rooms to potential customers. It is the provider that creates the rules and details regarding their properties and Booking.com promotes these. It is the same as reviewing Ebay as terrible because the dress from a seller did not fit on arrival. Please review all the details before posting such nonsense. Booking.com is the best service because it works but it is actually necessary to read clearly the offer being purchased beforehand.
I know I should be more aware of everything at everything when I book. So some of this is me being me. But some of us ppl are not made for computing, and me being easily stressed was really bugged by registering while the stupid page says there's only four rooms left and ppl are booking. So I somehow missed that the dates were wrong. Booking.com offers suggestions which involve contacting the hotel and asking for goodwill about the fees, but the hotel said my relation was with the third party.
In my humble opinion, hotels should not offer this "gamble deal" on booking.com, because it is honey to ppl travelling without the strongest budget, and if something goes awry, you are not secured by insurance or at booking.com. Booking.com poses a solution that is not real. It does not guide you to the solution it proposes. I would insert a screen print here, but as I said I'm not computer friendly.
This is sad.
DO NOT USE booking.com! Dont do it whatever you do! I booked two rooms for my daughters birthday party at a resort. I booked it a month in advance. Prior to the party, I call the resort to request a ground floor room and they dont have my reservation! Called booking.com repeatedly and each time they told me they would get back to me. They didnt. Had to cancel the party after all the invites were out and all the food ordered. A manager offers to relocate the party to another resort an hour away! Never took responsibility for any part of their mistake. Steer clear of booking.com! Its a scam!
Booked an apartment that pictures were showing of the apartment that we were supposed to receive in Hawaii come to find out the pictures were nothing like the apartment we were going to be staying in cancelled reservation due to an emergency and we're going to book it another day and they took all the money and won't refund any of it even though it was cancelled one hour after the booking.
I have been a frequent user of booking.com for many years. However, recently I have had several issues with them. Firstly, I was charged for some unknown payments. I had to call on numerous occasions and chase with emails. After 3 weeks, they didn't know what the charge was for, but they finally said they would refund me. I am still waiting for the money at the moment but hopefully will get it soon.
Secondly, I was given an offer to get 20 GBP if I made a booking with a special link they sent me. I followed the instructions exactly, but there is nothing on my account about my 20 GPB. I have again emailed and tried calling several times. They just ignore my emails and the 'local' phone number does not work. I therefore had to call an international number. After 15 minutes on hold, I finally got through to someone. The operator said he would call me back immediately but never did, so I have to call again and waste even more money on international calls. The amount of time and money I have wasted chasing money they have incorrectly charged me, I could have booked plenty more hotels. I think I will start looking at other options for booking my hotels from now on.
Booked an apartment hotel for a night in Brussels. All of sudden there was an addition 50 euros "Cleaning Fee" taken by the company. I've put in formal complaints and said these hidden fees go against EU regulations, but the only reply I get form Booking.com is a simple copy paste email, saying this fee is mentioned in my booking confirmation email. I've told them many times that it's too late to inform the consumer until AFTER they've paid, but it's like talking to 5 year old children. It won't go into their brains. Seriously, stay clear of these scammer!
Today I had it confirmed that Booking.com fixes reviews. That is to say, if you have a bad experience with an accommodation and make a complaint, booking.com can chose to bar you from leaving a review for the property. They simply do this by not sending out the review link. It seems that they just want the better reviews on their website, to encourage potential customers to book! Previously, all the places we'd stayed at had been great, so I had left very positive feedback. This was our first disaster stay... and I am not allowed to leave any feedback. What a con!
We had some property stolen from our room in a hotel booked through Booking.com. We wrote the review saying so (and the hotel's absolutely miserable response to the theft the Bratislava hotel in Kiev) and Booking.com wouldn't publish it. Worthless! Won't use the site again.
Everything is very logic. Thanks for a wide choice. I like to book apartments there and if anything goes wrong - Booking.com is always on the customer side.
I arrived at 3:00 am to my hotel. Customer service agent at hotel attemped to refund me the night I didnt stay. Couldnt do it. Told me to call Booking. Customer service agent was angry cause I changed my plans a month before directly through the hotel. Angry! About my trip my money. Tried to get hotel not to give me my money for one day back. Customer service agent at hotel told me use Hot wire
My family are in Russia for the FIFA World Cup. We booked our Moscow accommodation about 3 months ago. We arrived in Moscow at 10pm tonight only to find no one to meet us at the apartment we booked. After a long and expensive phone call with booking.com Sydney office, we were told that the booking is no longer available. They then proceeded to cancel our booking! There is a FIFA World Cup in Russia at the moment and all accommodations have been booked out. Here we are, stranded in a foreign street in a foreign city. It is already 12 midnight and we are tired and have no where to go to stay the night. If you are arriving late in a foreign city and you value your comfort and safety, do not book with booking.com! To prove that all the info on this post are legitimate, my booking confirmation number is *******473.
They say the rare is better than the hotel rate a lie. I was charged $840 through booking.com, but if paid directly through the hotel it would have cost me $582. Next time will just book directly with the hotel.
One of my neighbor's paid for hotel trough booing.com for 2 weeks, and money had been charged from their account, but after few days before that had to go, they received email that they apologized, but room had been reserved., basically they forgot to pay to the hotel. When they called them, they send them refund, and said that if my neighbors going to book through them again they will give them discount on for any hotel. So, they did find hotel and call them up, but they say the cannot give any discount to the and apologized again.
They booked me into a full hotel, and then wasted two hours of my time with their worthless customer service agents. They put me on hold twice until my call disconnected. Twice they did that. When I finally stopped letting them put me on hold, all they could do is assure me that I wouldnt be charged for the room. Really? Not once was I worried about paying for a room I couldnt use. I finally got my own room and checked in at 2:00amfour hours later. I hate this worthless company.
Loved it, I used this website to book my hotels on my last trip to Alicante Spain, it was easy and I got the best prices. Totally recommend it.
I booked for a hotel in Paris with booking.com ( booking number *******356) and decided to cancel due to plan changes the day after. It was 30 days before our trip. I called booking.com to confirm the cancellation was ok and it will be free of charge. So I went ahead a book another hotel that better suit my need. Three weeks later I still did not see the refund on my credit card statement. I called and asked and they said the hotel is now not honoring what had been promised and will charge me the full amount. I called booking.com back about 10 times (each time a different customer service representative and I had to explain myself again) and not one had gotten back to me. They gave me the runaround. Then they wrote back a few days later claiming the refund had been issued on June 2nd. I waited for a few more days still no refund. I called back again, finally, someone from China told me they hotel refuse to honor the refund again and they offer me a credit for the hotel before the end of the year. I could not believe my ears because they had written me twice about the free cancellation and the supposedly refund processed. This is 2194 Euros tied up in my credit card for more then a month and still no refund as promised! Double check all the refunds promised by booking.com because they cannot honor their promises! Beaware!
Answer: In my case they took my payment information and paid the hotel where I was going to be staying. Only to find out that the hotel was out of business and I had to prove that it was charged to my account. They did not find me a replacement hotel to stay in for the same price. Nor did they care that I was left without a place to stay. So beware before you purchase.
Answer: Don't waste time with booking.com. They have horrible customer service and will make every attempt to cheat you. Simply report the problem to your credit card company to get your refund.
Answer: Run. Run away. This company and the company used to insure their bookings are scams.
Answer: I don't know why you're even using this site Stephanie. Their after sales is disgusting! Recommend travel Republic. Great prices and options
Answer: You pay a non refundable price on line. When you check into your hotel, it's billed to your Bookings.com reservation plus incidentals (local calls, parking fees, resort fees, dining, bar fees, Europe charges local or city tax, spa fees...) the hotel will ask for a card as a hold for these fees. Use bookings.com, find the hotel you wish to stay in (get all info and contact them directly via website and price match) the Marriott in Rome had a room for $80.00 less on the Marriott website than these, so called MONEY SAVING SITES.
Answer: It depends on the hotel some don't charge until you arrive at hotel more will charge your card straight away check your booking it should tell you there
Answer: Trevago is hooked into Booking.com don't make a mistake and let trevago send you to booking.com go to Hotel.com which is more professional. I had to go to American Express customer serviced to complain and they gave a dead line for explanation. They had no explanation for crappy service and had to repay me.
Answer: NOT BOOKING.CON
Answer: You will need to pay taxes in addition to the quoted price. Call the motel and they will tell you about the taxes. A few places still don't charge exttra taxes e.g. Harris Ranch in California.
Answer: You can't. That's the whole idea. You provide a service, and your customers get to give their review of your place and your services.
