The overall reputation of the company reflects significant dissatisfaction among customers, primarily due to inadequate customer service and a lack of accountability. Many reviews highlight issues such as harsh refund policies, unresponsive support, and problems with fraudulent listings, leading to frustrations over lost funds and unresolved complaints. While some customers appreciate the variety of accommodations offered, the overwhelming sentiment indicates a lack of trust in the company's commitment to customer satisfaction. To improve its reputation, the company must enhance its customer service responsiveness and take greater responsibility for the listings it promotes.

I wanted to cancel a car booking, but nobody answer phone, couldn't talk on app chat because of errors, and also couldn't' cancel the booking my self from app, because of errors. So I wrote them an email. They answer after 1 day saying that they cannot cancel the booking anymore because it has already passed. There was no way to get anything from them, for a service a never used. So that for 110E they lost thousands from me (based on personal account statistics). So yeah, with a bitter taste in my mouth I have deleted my booking account!
Just don't. Customer service is a joke, My booking dates were all kinds of messed up and I've never heard so many ways to tell me im SOL as I did when I called their customer service. I was told my booking was through an "affilliate" and I had to call them. I called them and they told me to call some non US number that wasn't even a number. Even the hotel front desk complained about booking.com
If your booking to save 10-20 bucks just dont. Its not worth the hassel.
Horrendously filthy and unsafe self-catering property in Sumner Road, Buriton, Hampshire, booked through Booking.com. Do not stay here unless you do not mind paying to stay in a dirty property that looks as though it has not been cleaned for months. I have over 40 photographs of the dirt, stains, including stained mattress, which anyone is welcome to see. Property owner and Booking.com think it is acceptable for guests to pay to stay in disgraceful conditions. No apology was forthcoming. Booking.com told me that they would look into my complaints and find me somewhere else to stay but they did nothing but send me the identical standard response. I moved out of the property into a hotel as I could not continue staying in disgusting dirt. Horrific experience. I will never use Booking.com again.
I had a booking with them made by my wife and the site didn't load and we didn't get any confirmation email. Then I tried to book from my side using the app and then it went well. I complained to CS team in case they will deduct double amount and they confirmed all good. After a while the amount was deducted twice and i am for almost a month behind their CS team without any output. I had given all proofs that this is double booking due the web error and they keep coming back that for security reason they cannot disclose information. What a joke. I asked them to proof their right and definitely nothing. If they are right, let them show up.
One word I will say. DO NOT BOOK ANYTHING WITH BOOKING.COM. They very bad service, do not answer any complains and total no protection to the customer. BAD service, no one call you back and they throw you to a 3rd party to deal with. And you are lucky if you get your monet back. I'm working on some legal action against them.
No customer service to speak of. I paid for a room via Booking.com and turned up at the hotel to discover Booking.com had never made the booking. I had to make my own alternative arrangements after trying to contact customer services to no avail. I cannot believe that a company of such low standards is allowed to trade legally in the UK.
Booking. Com booked us into this hotel when it was closed. The Five Bells Ashford. Text Booking. Com and told to contact the owners three times even though I told them that the owner could not be contacted. Gave up and came home.
I booked a one-night stay through Booking.com. On arrival at the hotel, the other guest was refused entry as she did not have a vaccination passport. A vaccination was not listed among the hotel's Covid policies on Booking.com (see below images) and this was not a requirement for the region. As a result, given the lack of alternative accommodation available at that time, my friend and I, having just completed El Camino to Santiago, where forced to buy new tickets to return home that afternoon. Not only were we left out of pocket, but the end of our trip was ruined. Booking.com's response has been wholly inadequate. They offered a 25EURO voucher off of a future booking (less than the amount lost) and, a month later, it still hasn't appeared on my account, despite several emails. In order to gain a response, it appears that you need to send at least two emails (one was left unanswered for three weeks - only after another email was a response received). Shocking customer care.
Consistent with the 55% bad reviews of this company I can now see why. I booked a car on Booking.com and it clearly stated on the booking page "free cancellation." After having to cancel, due to Covid, Booking.com says there is a $40 cancellation fee. Even after calling, sending a screenshot of the free cancellation promise, they refuse to refund my money. Now going to fight using my credit card company to retrieve my stolen money. Please use the many other reputable companies out there to book your travel who will give you your money back and honor their promises and agreements. Bye bye Booking.com
I've ready many people's accounts of the same issue now - I reserved accomodation that really looked like it was going to cost me £777 pounds - and no cancellation fee. I had to cancel in the end - then I realised over £800 had come out of my account when I booked and the I was runded aroun £750! There is no fair warning of these charges - whatever the are - they said currency conversion!
I paid over £50 for a reservation I had for only a few weeks - cancelled well within the free cancellation deadline. There is no such thing as a free reservation.
I made the dumb mistake of reserving a hotel on the same day I thought I was going to check in. As in, I scheduled the reservation for September 19 on September 19th. 20 mins later, we decided not to stop at the city. Tried to cancel and was told I needed to give a 24 hour cancellation policy. How? Is common sense not possible? Or are they that hungry for money they won't cancel a reservation made within minutes? Furthermore, their lovely system told me I only had until September 17 to cancel when I scheduled it on September 19th. How?
Will not back you up when the hotel takes advantage of you. I lost a lot of money due to unexpected reasons.
I wish I could give this site zero stars. I specifically booked and paid for a beachfront room at a beachfront hotel. My room was to have 2 queen size beds and a beautiful view. I got a street side view with 2 full size beds and paid over 1000. 00 for 3 nights in Panama City at a Hampton Inn. I used this site years ago and the SAME thing happened at another hotel. I figured they would have improved after so much time. If it was not for the staff at Hilton, I would have a miserable vacation at a very expensive price, we still had to spend the first night in the room with a street view.
I have previously used this site with no issues. However, this summer there were issues with a hotel. You cannot get in touch with an agent. The chat forces you to leave a message. I've gotten responses a week later but when I reply with the requested Information I never hear back. There is no phone number for the US on the site so you have to hope everything is perfect or you are out of luck. I had a booking cancel my room with no notice (I found out when I arrived at 10:30 pm). Another hotel charged me a higher price than my guaranteed price and there is no way to resolve either issue.
On the 12th of August I made a complaint to booking.com regarding a hotel I didn't stay at. The hotel told booking to make me the full refund, this authorization was given on August 18th. On the 19th booking.com contacted me and said the refund would be in my account within 5 working days. On the 26th of August, I contact booking.com again as the refund was not yet in my bank account. The answer is that the money would be available within 7 to 14 days. Yesterday I called one more time booking.com as I'm still waiting. I was told that the money has been in their possession for a long time, but that refunds are delayed. I had never paid directly to booking. Usually paid directly at the hotel. And I guarantee I won't pay anything back to the booking.
We booked a room. The money was taken off the card. When we got to our destination the room was only reserved. We had to pay for it with another card. Booking charged about $ 142.00 We paid
$ 125.00 How do we get our $ 142.00 back Customer service is horrible. Don't use them. Otherwise our trip was great.
I tried to make a hotel reservation, but every card I used they rejected although all were good. Then I tried to contact customer service. They said I had to log in to chat or call... I logged in and there was no option to chat or call!? Ok, so I found their customer service number and called... the recording said they only take calls from people who had a reservation number! Insane, my problem was I couldn't get a reservation. Never again, they have the worst customer service I have ever experienced.
We booked a round trip plane ticket through this company. I never received the tickets on either my email address or on my phone app but they charged my debit card. I tried to call the 1-800 phone number and I was unable to connect with a live person because I did not have a confirmation number which I never received. I emailed them several times only to receive generic emails back stating that they need my confirmation number that they never gave me. I entered my phone in the email but no one has ever called me to discuss this matter. I had to re-order the tickets and pay for them again through a different company and file a dispute with my bank. My bank stated that I may not get a refund because I authorized the transaction. I would never trust this company ever again. The emails I received clearly came from another country and did not even have my name in them. Do not trust this company with your hard-earned money.
Answer: In my case they took my payment information and paid the hotel where I was going to be staying. Only to find out that the hotel was out of business and I had to prove that it was charged to my account. They did not find me a replacement hotel to stay in for the same price. Nor did they care that I was left without a place to stay. So beware before you purchase.
Answer: Don't waste time with booking.com. They have horrible customer service and will make every attempt to cheat you. Simply report the problem to your credit card company to get your refund.
Answer: Run. Run away. This company and the company used to insure their bookings are scams.
Answer: I don't know why you're even using this site Stephanie. Their after sales is disgusting! Recommend travel Republic. Great prices and options
Answer: You pay a non refundable price on line. When you check into your hotel, it's billed to your Bookings.com reservation plus incidentals (local calls, parking fees, resort fees, dining, bar fees, Europe charges local or city tax, spa fees...) the hotel will ask for a card as a hold for these fees. Use bookings.com, find the hotel you wish to stay in (get all info and contact them directly via website and price match) the Marriott in Rome had a room for $80.00 less on the Marriott website than these, so called MONEY SAVING SITES.
Answer: It depends on the hotel some don't charge until you arrive at hotel more will charge your card straight away check your booking it should tell you there
Answer: Trevago is hooked into Booking.com don't make a mistake and let trevago send you to booking.com go to Hotel.com which is more professional. I had to go to American Express customer serviced to complain and they gave a dead line for explanation. They had no explanation for crappy service and had to repay me.
Answer: NOT BOOKING.CON
Answer: You will need to pay taxes in addition to the quoted price. Call the motel and they will tell you about the taxes. A few places still don't charge exttra taxes e.g. Harris Ranch in California.
Answer: You can't. That's the whole idea. You provide a service, and your customers get to give their review of your place and your services.
