My fiance and I traveled from Houston to Lubbock for a family funeral. We chose this location specifically for the balcony. We checked in and went to our room and started unpacking. The living room area carpet was specked with detritus as if it hadn't been vacuumed, one of the balcony chairs was broken and the AC unit worked for about 3-5 minutes and shut down. I tried to use the room phone to call the front desk, but it just said the mailbox was full. I googled the front desk number and told the woman that the ac and chair were broken. She said she'd send maintenance up. That was about 6:15. At 7 I called back and was told maintenance was at another facility and was on his way. At 730 I called and she said 2 maintenance workers were coming. The room was hot! We opened the balcony door to let in a breeze. Finally shortly after 8,2 maintenance men arrived. They said they'd get to work and we went out on the balcony, I told them to let me know what's going on. Around 830, we watched them leave the room. One came back up and said we were being moved. He handed me new keys for 2 rooms down and told me "Make sure to take the other keys to the front desk. FIRST example of TERRIBLE customer service. We repacked our things and moved. We got into the new room and there was no balcony. They didn't tell us, but let us discover it on our own. I went to the desk and said" The new room doesn't have a balcony". She looked me in the face and said" yep"
I told her I paid for a balcony room. She shrugged and said "Don't have any". I was thunderstruck by her flippant attitude. I said I understood, but wanted to be refunded for the amenity I didn't get. She said she can't, refused to call anyone who could and told me to call customer relations. I did, I spoke to Alexis No one helped me Saturday, no housekeeping Saturday, they didn't set our key cards for Saturday. Housekeeping never came by. Upon checkout, the manager was combative and rude when I asked for compensation. Customer relations has yet to contact me as of 05/01.
BW sent me a invite for their credit card and was accepted. With the new card they gave me a new member # and wiped out my old account where I was a platinum member. Lost my perks and points I had. Called and they said I had to use the new account. Talked to a different agent and they tried to get me back to my old account but needed to reset my password. After 20 tries and 6 different agents I still can't get on. They blame me for not using Chrome or using a laptop. Their suggestion is I dump all my cookies which I need for my many other sites (banking, other hotels, travel sites, etc.) or use some other computer which would suck when I travel and at home. Told there was nothing they could do. So after 40 years my business means nothing to them because they are not smart enough to rub a website. PS. The number they tell you to call on their help page doesn't have enough #'s to make a call ( *******130)
To many other hotels to put up with this BS.
THE BATTLE OF USING YOUR EARNED E CERTIFICATE, LOSING TENS OF THOUSANDS OF POINTS AND CUSTOMER SERVICE DISASTERS
Best Western has many promotions, and they can be lucrative. Of course, you earn these through your stays. Cashing one in this week hit a brick wall.
The front desk staff seem unaware how these work when they check you in and creating your bill. Instead of billing my e-certificate, they deducted over 30,000 points.
Calling the hotel garnered another desk agent unfamiliar with the BW e certificates, and a promise to have a manager phone, without being able to tell me either the name of the manager or the time the manager would be in.
Calling Best Western Rewards was even worse. The Supervisor made a very rude and snarky comment to me, and when asked if she would prefer I write a review right away, instead of waiting an hour to speak to another department, challenged me to write this review right away.
In the end this will likely get resolved, but leaving a bitter taste.
We stayed at the Best Western in Cambridge, OH on June 22 2023. The room was nice as we expected. The real pleasure came the next morning when we discovered we had left the truck lights on and the battery was completely dead.
The maintenance man really went above and beyond trying to get the truck started so we could get home. He searched everywhere for a jumper box and ended up using his personal vehicle to jump our truck. I regret not getting his name but he very kind and helpful.
Due too weather, the general manager open his hotel for 31 people free of charge; me included. Check out was to day, but he aloud us to stay another day. Thank him for his generosity, and hospitality.
I rented a room from Best Western for friend who was from Ohio. When I was helping my friend check in and pay for the room the two front desk employees told me that they had to charge me the $250 fee because people from Louisville Ky destroy hotel rooms. I said that the room was for my friend from Ohio and they said that they could drop the fee because my friend was not local. I said that is rude. Both employees told me that it is Best Western Company policy to be rude and hate locals from Louisville Kentucky. I was feeling weird but ok. So I then paid for the room and helped my friend get the suitcase from the car. That is when the employees had to come outside and tell me they had to cancel the room because I was from Louisville Ky. So again that is super weird. But I guess if that is Best western company policy then that really sucks.
We stayed 2 nights at best western finger lakes/cortland new york, hotel is only 5 years old but the upkeep is poor, stained carpeting, no ice machines in service during our stay, and no one has taken care of the landscaping since the hotel was built. Breakfast was muffins in baggies, when we spoke to management about this, they claimed they could not hire any help, nobody wanted the job. Then they told us we could have booked the room for less if we booked directly through the hotel instead of using booking.com. There is no excuse for that hotel to be in that condition and I will never use booking.com again. Best Western should keep a better eye on their locations, it would help to avoid reviews like ours.
I've booked a hotel room at the Best Western Kings Inn, in Burnaby BC twice and it was a fabulous stay. The Staff there are really friendly and helpful and you get a free breakfast the next morning, The Staff that run the breakfast are super amazing. I booked a room on a holiday and got chocolates with my check in. I highly recomend staying there and its not too far from shopping either!
Super choice of a place to stay in KY. Fast friendly service. Very nice breakfast! Easy access from I 64. Close proximity to anything you would need. We look forward to our next stay!
I've been traveling around California for the past four months staying at various Airbnb's, hotels and motels. By far the best place I've stayed at is Best Western Hotel, in this case the San Diego/Miramar location. The breakfast was more than the usual continental with lots of variety. I had an issue with my bank account experiencing fraud and had to use my sister's credit card number to make reservations online. So, when it came time to check in, they waived the required security deposit which would have needed an actual card. I kept adding days to my stay and each time they were very flexible and waived the security deposit. The property, unlike similar hotels like Days Inn, does have an elevator, instead of being made to climb stairs with luggage. Also, unlike a lot of these hotels every amenity was working, like the ice machine and washer/dryers and I also enjoyed the very hot water, versus tepid temps in the shower. I would only have one suggestion for improvement. Instead of cable T.V., Roku or similar Smart T.V.s are better since you can use the USB ports and apps like Netflix, YouTube, Prime Video, etc.
In July of 2022 my wife and i and my 100-year old mother took a two week trip to Arkansas. Because of Covid some motels were not cleaning the rooms every day unless you specifically asked. Since we were traveling with my 100-year old mother I specifically asked when we checked in at the Best Western at 101 East Van Buren in Eureka Springs to have our 2 rooms cleaned because we were staying 2 days. The next day when we came back to the rooms after a day of site seeing and shopping our rooms were not cleaned. When I called the front desk they told me that the cleaning people had left and our rooms would not be cleaned. Obviously, I was an unhappy camper, but I thought that everyone makes an error occasionally.
On July 14th & 15th we stayed at the Best Western Winners Circle at 2520 Central Avenue in Hot Springs, AK. Again when we checked in, I specifically asked that our rooms be cleaned because we were staying 2 nights. The next day the same thing happened. Our rooms were not cleaned. I don't know in the future, if we will ever be staying at another Best Western, I doubt it. I recommend that you stay at other motels that are more reliable. We had no problems at the other motels we stayed at during our trip.
I made my reservation on Bestwestern.com in May. I did a marathon drive from south eastern Colorado to Junction, Texas. I had made specific reservation for a ground floor because I travel with an equipment case that weighs about 300 pounds.
When I arrive at the hotel, around 7pm, August 1. I was told that do not honor reservations that are not called in. There were no ground floor rooms. The only room was top floor and there was no elevator... I left.
I contacted Best Western who said I should have checked in at 3pm to get the room I wanted!
I was a contractor for Best Western from 2001 to 2007. I traveled for them across the US, Canada and the Caribbean. I have visited in the neighborhood of 1500 Best Western Hotels. Many were low quality, some were extremely nice. Those in Canada were exceptional. My complaint is not about the quality of the hotel, but the dumb country bumpkins that run the front desk.
I have a Gold Member Card from Best Western and enough points to... well, I'm not going back, so I suppose they are worthless now.
The Best Western in Junction, Tx ruined this company for me.
Hello Hilton chain.
Have had pretty good luck with 99 percent of the Best Westerns I have stay in. Reasonable rates safe area. Good Beds and breakfast is adequate.
Best Western advertises a military discount, but in reality, they do not offer such a discount. I am a veteran and I was denied a military discount at the Best Western in Bishop, California.
Emailed cs regarding recent visit as below, thought I made my voice out, done deal. But the cs asked me to call the office to "allow our office the opportunity to discuss your
> concerns further and hopefully reach a satisfactory solution". Maybe I understood it in the wrong way or just call me implacable, I just think I've done enough by emailing to report the issues. Even so, if some one can email me to say please call, why not just say what ever else the cs department would like to say... I only have time to do anything myself after both kids go to bed at night... at least call me, i did leave my phone number in the original email.

The end, done whining, feel much better now, thank u for reading my whining.
We moved from Florida because of loss from Hurricane Michael. He took all we had so we are starting over In Missouri. While we were waiting on an apartment we liked we stayed at the BEST WESTERN PLUS in Lee's Summit Missouri. We were there for a couple of weeks and we received the best of the best service, help with our loss, just talk... whatever we needed they got it for us. They are the friendliest people you will ever meet. There just wasn't anything else they could have done to make it more pleset. They surely went out of the way to be there for us. We enjoyed BEST WESTERN PLUS in the best way possible. If we even hinted we needed anything, they would get it for us. When it go a bit slow in the front one or two would come over and chat for a while. Not just a word or two to make you feel good but conversations. None of the staff was idle for a minute. They saw to it that it was clean and presentable at all times. Anytime at all that you looked their way they had a smile on their face. Always a smile. If you have some plans coming up soon plan to have it with BEST WESTERN PLUS IN LEES SUMMIT MISSOURI. We cherish every minute we were there. Because there was always a smile
Everybody needs a day off sometimes so why not take that time and make the best of it right here in the pleasent and sweet atmosphere at BestWestern in Lee's Summit Missouri.
And don't forget the rewards you get... points for nights stayed will win you free nights. That could really come in handy for those Dog House Days you guys!
Established and consistent quite hotel in Goulburn. Good variety of rooms and food options. Friendly staff.
I always check-in to Best Westerns anywhere I go. The rate is affordable and hotels are clean and I like having continental breakfast in the hotel.
BUGS in Shower and sink area. No Housekeeping to clean room, empty trash can and renew towels ( maybe thats why they have BUGS0. The smoke alarm starts chirping at 2:30 AM, I remove battery NO HELP, its hard wired and Im hesitant to pull the wires. Call the front desk and they come and disconnect. I explain to the manager DJ my totsl dissatisfaction and my lack of sleep. DJ says she'll take 7% off. REALLY 7% is an insult, 7% is the tax. I explain if she can not do better than 7% I will check out immediately. 7% I check out. When I finally track down the owner (Shantel) after no return calls. He explaines to me he is NOT responsible for the life of a battery and he is not going to offer any compensation. How bout the satisfaction of his customers. How bout providing a comfortable place for his customers to sleep. HOW BOUT CHANGING THE BATTERYS EACH AND EVERY YEAR JUST LIKR THE FIRE DEPARTMENT RECOMMENDS. Shantel is more concerned about stuffing as much CASH in his pockets then maintaining or preventative Maintenace as simple as changing a battery every year. The ONLY way some thing is fixed there is if it breaks and it has to be repaired or replaced. STAY A FAR AWAY AS POSSIBLE
