BIG PROBLEM for Best Buy customers, If you go Christmas shopping in early December, nothing you purchase will be returnable after the gift is opened on Christmas day because of a 14 day return policy which is UNHEARD of in the retail industry. Your stuck with it. They did it that way intentionally and they will enjoy telling you that you cant bring it back.
I've ordered many times through best buy. Products that they don't have in store usually. I just have it shipped to the store and shipping is free. Highly recommend it.

This policy is very one sided I bought a computer case at best buy in Bowie Md. I always inspect items like this due to Best Buy's habit of items not being complete. They took my money from my account via debit card which was immediately deducted from my account. Now I have to wait 10 days to have my account credited then I want interest paid this is not right.

Tried calling best buy to get a price match on a watch. I guess since its a big difference in price they don't want to price match so every time i call i get hung up on. They also made me wait 30 minutes more or less to talk to a representative. They kept giving me the run around saying they need to check again and again, then transferred me to another rep to eventually just leaving me on hold for a while and then eventually being hung up on. Avoid them. The only reason i wanted to purchase through them is because of a gift card that was given to me. Do yourself a favor and go with other stores because bestbuy doesn't value customers like other stores do. If they keep this up they're most likely going to go the way other major retailers (like sears, circuit city, toysrus, etc) went which is bankrupt. I for sure am not buying from them because there's better options that do value customers unlike they do. Another thing i don't like is the fact that when you get a certain percent in bestbuy credit (like %5-%10 back on certain purchases)they give u a limited time to spend it and that is a $#*!ty practice in my opinion. This is another reason i will be going with their competitors who have better deals or don't give you that annoyance that u have to spend the credit right away.
Ordered a Bosch dishwasher ($967.00) and was told that it was to be delivered 1.5 weeks later. I was given a five hour window then a 12 hour window, then a six hour window, then finally back to a 12 hour window. The day before I had not heard from BestBuy so I called and was told that it would be there between 7 am and 12 noon, delivered and installed. When it didn't arrive I called Best Buy to say that I had to work that evening and was told that it could be as late as 7 pm. They said that nobody at Best Buy would give less than a 12 hour window and I must be mistaken or that it had changed at the last minute. No apologies for my loss of a vacation day from work or for "not showing up at all". They lied to me about the delivery and then said, "just do what everyone else does and get your money refunded when they don't show". Also on your order form, they do not include a telephone number and try to get you just to look at your status online. You will need to search the internet to get a number so that you can wait 20 minutes to speak with a customer rep. They don't want you to contact them. Its been more than 10 years since I last ordered from Best Buy and I thought maybe they had changed. They have not. Customer service is worse today than it ever has been. Last Black Friday, we bought what was supposed to be a Surface Pro 3 for a huge discount. My pen had major lag issues so they provided another one(a Surface Pro 3 pen) and it never worked again. I questioned GeekSquad about the fact that it only said Surface on the back and not Surface 3. They claimed they all said that. It was a new technology to me so I didn't argue. Then I put it away because without a working pen, it was no use to me. Later I did some research, downloading updates to the firmware and drivers. It claimed I didn't have a Surface Pro 3. I figured it was a bad install, put it back in the closet after a couple more installs. Then it dawned on me to compare the Surface models. Sure enough, I found my model was the Surface and my pen didn't work because it had a totally different pen. I am trying to find the box so I can confront them, but I'm sure after almost a year, there's nothing they will do about it.
Buyer, make sure you know the differences in products you're going to buy, especially during huge sales. I don't know if they did it on purpose to get more sells or if it was truly an accident that never got caught, but it was $800 and I believe they were selling the Surface for $500 at that point. I gave it two stars because this is the first time I've ever had a problem with them.

I bought a lot of my things here, and I loved Best buy. It is my anniversary tomorrow and I order a phone for my boyfriend 2 weeks ago, just to make sure it arrives on time. The first phone which arrived was working for 1 hour and died. I returned it to store, wanted to buy the replacement they told me to order it online. Second phone arrived today seal was broken and piece of charger missing from the box. I called customer service and they were really polite, but absolutely did not care about understanding the customer. First of all there was no discount offered at all (as a part of apology by customer service) I asked to talk to the manager and he/she did not want to come to the phone. The representative kept apologizing (it was not the guys fault anyway) and he was really polite, but his hands were tied, and even when I said please tell the manager they will lose the customer and they destroyed my anniversary, there must be some kind of policy for all this mess. Nothing. Not only that you are uncool, but you are really unprofessional. Just a small comparison, Amazon was 1 day late with the delivery (not 14 days, 1 day!) and they gave me 50% discount for being a loyal customer.
Had just a few purchases from there, everything went just ok. Lately i`m using this one and couple other sites just to review the actual prices and characteristics of things i want to get.
Bought my husband a sound system so that we could dual purpose for the actual wedding day for the reception - it was perfect. Speakers were great, music was awesome, and everyone had a blast.

I bought an LG WASHER and paid $160.00 for a 5 year warranty. I have been trying to get it fixed for almost a month now and they keep cancelling appointments. We'll never buy a computer from Best Buy! We paid Geek Squad to complete a service that Best Buy offered when they sold a computer to us. When we discovered the computer was defective (confirmed by Geek Squad) and had to be returned that very same day, Best Buy wouldn't return our money for the service Geek Squad had done to it. It wasn't even written on the back of their agreement that they had a right to do this, and they still didn't return our money. Never again, Best Buy!
Some nice people on the way, but a lot of headache. A simple question. Can I use our business tax exempt number without the original email. They said call and ask. I did. The said yes but you must order over the phone and then email to get a refund. I did and emailed. They replied and said my email did not match the email on file so I had to go through the processes for tax exempt for the new email. After explaining I needed that answer in the first place they said that they will allow it this one time.
But then they shipped one package to me and the other two to GA. (i live in Ohio) they cancelled the packages then sent me new ones.
Then the knew ones were over three weeks late and wile I was out of state for several weeks.
I finally arrived home and put the TVs up. One worked and the other was broken.
The online chat could not do anything because it was pass the 15 day return policy (again I did not receive them in time and could do nothing about it) they told me to call. The folks on the phone were nice but could not resolved and said a manager would call. It has been a week and no one has called.
I did received a refund for the extremely late packages. But I just want the tv lol. Target has a better deal now so it is working out but after bad service before (should have learned my lesson), I prob am done with best buy for a long wile.

I would specifically ask for documentation from Best Buy in which your grandmother gave them permission to recycle her 18 month old computer. If they cannot produce that document they may be in very big trouble with the state's attorney general. I would also write the BBB and contact your public officials. This I think would be paramount to theft if your grandmother did not give them permission to recycle her computer. On the flip side of things, ASUS is a very good machine. My son is a computer scientist and swears by ASUS. I have three ASUS machines one of which is over 5 years old and it is a workhorse. Unless something significant happens in the ASUS business world, I will continue to buy ASUS!
