I ordered shutters made of vinyl and composite wood. I specified the shutters to be a specific color. Shutters came in and were not even close to similar. I sent 3 emails to them with no response. I called them and they pretty much said i'm out of luck and they could only offer me discount on more products. So now i'm stuck with a pair of $600 shutters and an upset client.

They are quick to respond if you want to buy something, but don't expect good customer service when you have problems.

They will no longer have my business.

Beware
August 21, 2021

We ordered 5 pho beams from this company for a total over $4400. One of the beams showed up damaged. We sent them pics and submitted a claim. They would under no circumstances replace the damaged beam. Unbelievable in today's world. They told us to order a new beam which would cost over $1492 with shipping. Do not use this company, you will regret it. They absolutely do not stand behind their products. Definitely do not recommend.

Order a basement column cover and it worked perfectly. The materials were easy to work with and fit together precisely. Once it was installed and painted it converted an eyesore into a natural part of the room that looks classy. Shipment came quickly via FedEx with no problems.

I was thrilled!
February 22, 2016

I purchased three of these medallions recently and was thrilled. Their quality far surpassed my expectations and they greatly enhanced my chandeliers, decor and the architectural detailing in my living room. I had purchased a nice medallion previously at a home improvement store, but the quality and aesthetics of products offered here far exceeds that of the in-store stock. The shipping time and costs were reasonable, and I plan to order additional products from this site. A very good experience indeed.

My shutters arrived a few days earlier than expected. They are exactly what I expected them to be and the exact color that I had in mind. They look great on my house. I would order from this company again.

Perfect
October 13, 2017

1st I started with Home Depot and Lowes in matching color for my new Cinnamon toast storm door but it was all close but I was not sure. Then I was told about your web page and you sent me samples and I found the perfect color and when all was received and installed, PERFECT match. The first 2 places were done by physically seeing the product and yours was not. I will definitely refer you to other home owners who are paying to paint there existing plastic shutters for the same price I paid for yours. Painting is never good. Thanks for the good experience.

Worst customer service ever. I bought 2 Faux stone samples. They look like a 2 year painted on plastic. I tried to return them... no one answers the phone, return calls. Do not return emails, and cannot get thru on chat. It is easy to see why because you cannot return the samples. They will just credit your account. No one in their right mind would put this piece of crap on their house. It is a rip off. A person buys the samples and Architectural Depot know full well no one is going to buy the product. And that is why they do not put them in stores. Do not buy from them... you will be stuck with product. I will trash Architectural Depot every chance I get.

Although this company sells defective (marred, chipped, cracked) merchandise at considerable discounts, when I received my full-price item, it had a long deep, very visible crack. I sent a photo. AD agreed they made a mistake, but wouldn't refund the price reduction. Instead, they gave me a "gift" card, for use at their store. Do I want to go back? Nope.

Steer clear
October 14, 2015

Many weeks delay on an "in stock" order. Once we complained it was changed to being called a "custom order". Ok, angry but we wait. This order finally comes and its missing MOST of the parts. These were 3 part door trims, 2 sides and a top with a keystone. Well, all that came were the damn tops, no sides and no keystones. Company seemed unable to answer anything and will look into it. There was no answer in the shipping department (gee, why am I not surprised). Fortunately after being charged a month ago and not having a shipped item I already called the credit card. Now that they have come with 75% of the order missing I am going to sign the papers and get a chargeback against them.

This is the worst site out there. I have never seen anything like this.

Thought we were saving about $5 -10 a window. Shipping took a month for first order. Then it happened 1 set was too long for a window (second story didn't get measured correctly) but shutter never used and still in original packaging. Took 5 days to get a auth to send back. Had to pay $40 to ship back a $58 set if shutters! And going to charge a 20% restock fee. Will Never Use This company again. Getting ready to build house #4 and will stick with Lowes. Never any problems returning and its worth $30 more. The replacement shutter coming is still going to take 30 days! Jeesh!

Great looking shutters
November 30, 2017

I have to admit I was a little reluctant to order shutters online, but I was pleased to find how nice these shutters are. I ordered 5 pairs in various sizes, and they all arrived un-damaged and better than I expected. I had a question regarding the delivery and Kevin in customer support was very helpful. The shutters look fantastic on the house and really add to the finished look. The cranberry color does have a brownish tint to it, but the house is tan so it's not a problem. If you use the screws with caps, don't over tighten them, just snug them up. Over tightening will dimple the shutter and make it hard to snap the caps over the screw heads. I'll be ordering more of these. Bill.

Architechural depot has some designer shutters for a much better price than what we found on other websites or even local. I thought sizing them would be difficult but it is not as hard as it seems and they have excellent installation videos to help with the installation. You do need to have some basic tools but it is really easy.

I ordered vinyl shutters through architectural depot and was given about 4 weeks estimate of shipment. I ordered them the last day of May and it is now September 21st. They have claimed they can't get ahold of the manufacturer now. But on 2 occasions they have given us bad tracking numbers. One of them showed to be delivered to Michigan (I live in the Dallas TX area) and the other was just a bad number. Now they will not issue a refund after waiting over three months. They continue with excuses and blaming the manufacturer. They have been holding our money for months while they try to work out whatever problems they're having and we are done. Sorry I ever attempted to do business with these people.

Great product but horrible customer service. My order was delayed by a week and a half and when I contacted the company to locate my order, no one got back to me. Then, I had to return one item and they would not take it back though it does not align with their return policy. Again, contacted them and never heard back. Horrible experience. Save yourself the grief and buy elsewhere!

Purchased 5 faux barn beams for a family room ceiling. The quality of product was great and the price was competitive. They look so real its ridiculous. Our contractor was impressed with product and everyone who has seen them thinks they are real

Order wainscoting kit which arrived with mismatched pieces. 1 month later and 20+ phone calls and still do not have the correct pieces. I would have just asked for a refund but remainder of pieces are already installed. Worst customer experience of my life. Save yourself the aggravation and do not buy from architectural depot

I've had these shutters for barely over a year, and already starting to show signs of wear and tear. The other day I noticed one of the fasteners that hold these shutters to masonry had broken off. Knowing these had a warranty I call up architectural depot to see about getting a replacement. After quite some time on hold I got told they wouldn't warranty these. I asked how much this part could cost, and was told 29 cents! Wow. You won't send a customer a 29 cent part after one year? Nope, I was told they were sorry I didn't like their answer. I have very little faith that this product will hold up. I imagine the others will start to break, as it's clear to me these can't handle the sun and don't have sufficient UV protection. Stay clear of this product and company, go with someone reputable that sells a solid wood shutter.

I bought a 6" molding and they sent one that is not the same as the one pictured. IN FACT, it's not even similar to the same 4" molding they sell.
Architectural Depot said, the 6" is just like the website illustration (see photo below with print from website) and it's the same proportions as the 4" (see photo of two trims side by side).
The whole is supposed to be round, but it's oval (last picture). Ripoff Depot said no refunds. I cancelled my visa charge.
Look at the photos and you be the judge.
BTW. Do the math, the 4" trim, 48" long has 8 patterns. Therefore the 6" trim in a 48" piece should be 5.3 patterns compared to 4", not the 4 elongated patterns it has. For two 48" long pieces to be 8 patterns and 4 patterns, one would have to be twice the size of the other. 6 is not twice the size of 4.
I have spent more time than the money they are cheating me out of, but others need to know. Dishonest, fraudulent sellers. HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE.

Arrived quickly and good quality but forget returns. They charge a 20% re-stocking fee and that is AFTER they "check with the warehouse" to be able to return the item. I explained that I was all packed up to ship back the items and that one of them was scratched so could they waive the 20% re-stocking. They said "send a picture and we'll ask the warehouse". Unbelievable.
