We have the AmeriGlide chair installed at our Zion Ev. Lutheran Church
And it works great. Not very many people use it yet. In time I think more people will use it.

AmeriGlide has quite a diverse selection of stair lifts, We looked and called and looked and called a whole bunch of folks in our quest for a durable, reliable and affordable stair lift.
This is our second lift. Our first one (14 years ago), I Installed. Now at 81 yrs. Old, we opted to have it installed. Great decision, my wife says!
Called Sean Graham at AmeriGlide Inc. in Raleigh, NC.
Sean was very helpful, answering all our questions and concerns. With his help we want with the "RAVE " stair lift. The price he gave us when we first called was the price we paid when it was installed a month later!
The installer, Mr. Ronald Thornton, came (right on time) to install our lift and had it installed in less than 2 hours from the time he knocked on our door to.the time he waved as he left for another installation.
This lift every thing the advertising say it is. Battery operated, so it works even without power. Smooth operation and quite quiet.
We live in a Condo that is 17 stairs up when we come out of our garage so it is quite necessary now!
If you are considering getting a lift, We would highly recommend getting the "RAVE" from AmeriGlide.

I had the worst possible experience with this company. I am trying to get a stair lift installed for my father who recently had a stroke. I contacted AmeriGlide and everything seemed ok, but it went downhill from there. First I never received a representative to come by our home to inspect our property for installation, Instead I am told to measure the stairs myself. Then Instead of having an installer bring the stair lift to our home to install it, the company ships the parts separately to our home and failed to follow-up with us on installation. Only after my continuous calls I was given another number to an installer in Baltimore. I tried to called him but repeatedly received his voicemail, which I could not leave a message because his voicemail was full.

When I finally reached him he proceeds to tell me that he has no paperwork regarding my installation. The date that we could come was not compatible with our schedule but no alternate date was provided, other than he would get back to me. Only after I complained to the Manager Mr Johnson, I received a late night call from the installer. However I have chosen not to deal with this company and I hope this serves as a warning to others.

The company is located in North Carolina, And Mr Johnson is located in Georgia and they seem to farm out installation to another company. This caused major confusion and frustration for our family.

I have chosen a much better company that is local, has a warehouse with an available stair lift and they are installing it for us this Monday.

This is hands down the worst buying experience of my life.

We had ordered the lifts (2 of them) to be delivered when we came home from a holiday out-of-state visit. They were delivered and left on our porch a week before we got home. We had to pay a neighbor (who had called us) $20.00 to put the packages in the garage.

We paid $150 to have our spaces measured by the company so there would be no mistakes
When the lifts came in, they did not fit right but the factory installer installed them anyway and told us how WE could fix it. We have had numerous problems with the remotes. They sent a new remote... still iffy. There is a loud clunking sound which the installer told us we could fix with shims but we cannot even get the screws out. I don't think that should have been our problem. Due to a mistake in installation, the foot rest kept coming apart. We found the screws and put it back together but then the part that is supposed to move freely was binding. I was told to just pry it apart with a screwdriver... still having a problem.
Beware: they will sell you the equipment but do not stand behind it.

They refuse to support or service their products, they will pass you around through voicemails and promise callbacks, you will not get them. Our stairlift is 3 years old, will not move, the diagnostic screen hasn't worked since it was installed, we have had nothing but problems since purchase. Ameriglide LOVES to steal money (about $10,000 for us) from the disabled and elderly. BUY FROM ANYBODY ELSE!

I just bought a used unit out of the Arizona Ameriglide office. NEVER AGAIN! Issues:

1. The black chain which came with my 13-step stairlift was about 50-inches short. Apparently, according to one of the many "techs" I talked with, the top motor/seat section they shipped was for a much shorter set of stairs. I spend several hours on the phone trying to get them to overnight the remaining black chain... in time for my father-in-law to arrive tomorrow night. But no luck... complete run-around (2-3 hours wasted, and I still don't know if someone is overnighting the 50-inches of black chain).

2. The splice bars to the top motor/seat section were missing. I had already installed the other two track sections before realizing... the four splice bars which were supposed to be in the top section were in the lower track. So I had to remove all the track and stair brackets to remove and put them where they belonged (2-extra hours).

3. The "Track End Plate" was missing from one of the tracks. Only after about an hour did I realize it was located in the wrong box -- contradicting the video and written instructions. It was lodged under some packing material, and I almost missed it.

4. Missing the washers to the four screws which hold the seat on top.

5. The written installation guide is practically useless without being able to actually see the photos. It appears as if someone has made a copy of a copy, of a copy of a copy. The resulting photos look like black blobs. Not very helpful.

Never again.

Horrible
August 12, 2015

We ordered a Vesta chairlift. The minute the installer showed up, I should have run. His run down truck hood was tied down with a rope, there was so much stuff in the truck it literally fell out as he got out. He carried his tools into my house in a cardboard box and he was handicapped himself so I had to help him carry the heavy boxes! He ended up not lagging down many of the screws tight enough, did not install a grounding screw, and did not screw the "stop" tight enough. All of these items could have ended up very dangerous for my mom(90) and dad (96).
Now the stairlift has only worked occasionally... if I wiggle and jiggle some wire, the main assembly box, or using the remotes. My parent's kitchen is on a different level, and neither one of them can use the stairs. One day the lift wasn't working and I wasn't around so they didn't have food until I showed up much later in the day.
I have been on the phone with Eddie trouble shooting. I have honestly done everything that he has asked me to do. Many phone calls go unreturned. They have never said they would send out a tech to look at it. I am tired of trying to figure it out. My parents are scared to get on it now because they might get stuck in the middle of the stairs.
This is just terrible! I feel terrible having arranged to have it put in!

Please don't waste your time with AmeriGlide. Believe me when I tell you I have had nothing but headaches dealing with them. My mother lived with me and so I had her Harmar stairlift moved to my house. The cable guide broke & I needed service. I could not get someone to service it. I decided to order the part, and my husband was going to try & fix it. He couldn't so I decided to return the part as there was something else wrong with the stairlift & that part was not going to make any difference anyway. I decided to get another stairlift that was not AmeriGlide because I needed to be able to have someone help me if something goes wrong with the machine. When I contacted the person whose # I was given to find out where to send the part back I was told "No refunds." I said where does it state that there are no refunds? There was no mention of it when I purchased it over the phone. He said he'll send me the policy which he never did. (The part was 8 feet of a plastic cable guide which cost several hundred dollars.) I returned the cable guide to them anyway and disputed the charge. Thank God I charged it on my credit card so you have the option of disputing it. I won the dispute because I had the receipt that I sent it back and the money was put back on my card. It is stressful being a caregiver, never mind not being able to get things taken care of when you really need it to be done in a timely fashion. Elderly people have to be able to move around and this company does not help you. That stair lift is currently on my driveway waiting to be brought to the dump.

I ordered a lift chair on line. A couple of days later I got an email saying that the order was processed. They took charged my parents credit card on that same day. They said that it would ship in 8 days business days.(Which on the site, it said it was quick ship and would ship in 48 business hours which is another issue). After 3 and a half weeks I start calling to find out about my chair. I kept getting the runaround and being told that I needed to talk to the person that handles online orders. I left messages that were never returned and kept getting a recording saying to call back during business hours even though it was well within the business hours. After about 5 phone calls I complained to someone that wasn't the (right) person to talk to and she told me that the chair was out of stock and they were not restocking it and that I needed to pick a different chair.

Why did they charge the credit card if the chair couldn't be ordered? Or why did they let me order it in the first place? Why was I never alerted that I could no longer order this chair? They should have taken the chair off line. They shouldn't have billed me for it. They shouldn't have told me it was going to ship in 8 business days. They should have emailed and called to let me know. The first person I talked to on the phone should have been able to tell me that they could not ship the chair I ordered. When I left a message, someone should have called me back later that day or at least the next day. I could go on and on.

I would not recommend doing business with this company.

I just hope I don't have trouble getting my money back.

For the product itself, I rate it between 4 and 5 stars. The model we ordered installed flawlessly and has worked well for the last couple of months. No regrets whatsoever with purchasing it.

My issue is with the Sales Department; incompetent, rude, lazy and in the areas that count - liars. In my case, we finalized the purchase agreement based on a future delivery point and installation. By the way, the installers, if you use the company installers, were pretty awesome and you should choose them if possible.

To continue. The delivery point. I specified a future delivery point, as in "do not deliver until a date two weeks from now". Real simple. Nope. They fulfilled the order the next day with the product about to be delivered to an empty residence. They didn't notify me of shipping. I learned about it via due diligence and made every attempt to stop/reschedule the delivery. The "Sales" department lied to me regarding the status and when I pressed them, they came clean with the story but then made every effort to push the responsibility for correct delivery on me, which I refused since I was paying THEM for it. The person trying to do this was a T. J. Sell, Sales Manager.

Eventually, the product was delivered but not without nearly a dozen phone calls to "T. J.". The interaction was not without real anger at his treatment of us, particularly when he tried to blame the misdelivery on COVID (really?). Somehow a disease was responsible for his failure to stay on top of the order fulfillment process to ensure the $2000+ order was correctly handed over to shipping (FedEx). "T. J." also attempted (several times) to pick a fight with me over the phone, a form of intimidation that was easy to ignore.

So, if you're buying this product, you can sleep well knowing it's well-crafted. But -- it's highly advised you hold the Sales Department's feet to the fire EVERY STEP OF THE WAY... follow-up with them by phone every day... take detailed notes of date, time, and what was discussed. The Sales Department WILL find a way to disappoint if you're not careful. Get everything discussed in writing. Be particularly wary if you end up speaking with T. J. Sell; he's a major headache Excedrin can't fix.

Satisfied Customer
August 8, 2017

I read reviews on everything before I make a purchase. I did not do so in this case because I needed something right away. My husband has Vascular Parkinsonism and his walking/gait is very unsteady. On July 4,2017 he fell off the back of a golf cart (we use it for our neighborhood - not golf). He landed on his right foot at an angle and broke the distal ends of the tibia and fibula in 3 places total. He had surgery to insert plate and pins and is in a cast for about 7 weeks with NO weight bearing on the broken leg. We live in a townhouse that has a drive under garage so there is a flight of stairs just to get up to the main part of the house where family room/kitchen/dining rooms are. I called Ameriglide and spoke with a man named Jaden and he was an exceptional sales person. I ordered the stair lift chair and it was installed a few days before my husband came home from rehab after 3 weeks. It was all under $3000 - including installation, parts, shipment, etc. The man who installed in travels all over the southern states and can install these with his eyes closed. He installed it in an hour. It is perfect for someone who can bear weight on one leg or the other or both. It would not work though for someone who cannot bear weight on both legs unless they can be lifted onto it by someone. The man who installed it gave me his personal contact information and will come to repair it whenever I need. He said most problems can be solved over the phone. An elevator would have cost around $28,000 and another dumb waiter type of option would have been $7-10,000. I am more than pleased with this product and also pleased with the sales, installation and quality of the product. I HIGHLY recommend this product.

My church put hased a stair lift. It took the installer a week after the check was received to install. He kept saying he would NOT come out if all the parts were not received. I assured him they were all received. But he refused because there were 3 boxes instead of the 4 he insisted on. I finally had to take a picture to send to him before he would agree to come.ge finally installation the chair and TWO DAYS LATER it breaks. I called and after condescendingly telling me to do all the things wedalready done, he said he'd come " this week" that was almost 2 weeks ago. He told me to be "patient" that he would be there. And he never showed up. He doesnt return my calls. Nothing. I called the sales person Sane Siler. And he was absolutely no help. I spoke to the head of the Installation department, Joe. Hing up on me. This company is the worst. Now my Paators mother and countless others who are immobile have to struggle up the stairs when there's a chairlift sitting right there. The installers name is Paul and he is with Aerotech. Stear CLEAR. The most unprofessional person I've ever done business with
