Rave stair lift is 3 1/2 yrs old, now slows down drastically after going up about 1/3 of the way to the top of stairs. unit is rated for 350 lbs, and weighed dressed user at 332 lbs. is this a battery problem or a motor/track problem? Answer:

If the Batteries were never changed in over 3 years then your answer is yes, your batteries are not taking charge.

Most likely needs to be lubed.

Answer:

Yes, it can be modified to fit 5 extra steps with additional parts.

Our ameriglide lift stopped abruptly in the middle of the stair and stopped working. the lights are still on, but it makes no sounds when we try to move it. what would be the most likely cause for this type of situation? thanks. Answer:

I would check: 1. For some sort of obstruction in the tracks. These units auto shut off with anything in the tracks; or 2. A wire connector under the seat worked loose; or 3. The traveling wire in the tracks, under the chair unit became jammed. Again, any obstruction, and it shuts off.

Three weeks ago i ordered parts by phone, namely lnl limit switch (micro switch) and a limit cam. the person took my order and all my info and said it would take 7-10 days. now after 5 calls that i had to leave messages, i find out that they don't have the parts and don't know when they will come in...and the vesta chair lift is useless. what can you do to help me.

I have an ameriglide vest stairlift installed about 3 years ago and it has stopped working at the top. if the rocker switch is pressed to go down a number 9 appears on the display...but without the top horizontal element illuminated. if the rocker sw is pushed to go up a 3 is illuminated indicating that the upper limit is reached which is correct. any ideas??
