Question:

Our ameriglide lift stopped abruptly in the middle of the stair and stopped working. the lights are still on, but it makes no sounds when we try to move it. what would be the most likely cause for this type of situation? thanks.

Answer:

I would check: 1. For some sort of obstruction in the tracks. These units auto shut off with anything in the tracks; or 2. A wire connector under the seat worked loose; or 3. The traveling wire in the tracks, under the chair unit became jammed. Again, any obstruction, and it shuts off.
