This place has become a joke. Two weeks ago, I requested an eye exam with Dr. Karl Schwandt, whom I have been seeing for the last 15 years in this location. The apt. Was made, and I was ensured that it would be with him. On the day of the apt. I called to confirm the appointment with Dr. Schwandt and was told that he had left and there were 2 different doctors performing exams. Why did the office not call me to say that he won't be in the office? The customer service at this location worsened each time I had to schedule an exam. After 15 years, it's time to change eye doctors if I can't get the one that I want.
I and my husband have been customers of Americas Best for the past 3 years. We go to Flagstaff, Az to Americas Best. We are always happy to be assisted by Yvette Rena, she knows her duty very well, and is very helpful to us helping us selecting eyewear and explaining the different additions we could maket to help us see better. And most of all very friendly, that is why we keep going back. Thank you Yvette, we shall return.
Very good company to go to for eye glasses.
They are fast, friendly and efficient.
Even when they are busy and I go in to have my glasses adjusted, I never have to wait. I am in and out within minutes.
I also purchased the optional insurance coverage for $25 in the event of damage. Sure enough….I did have to use it.
I got new replacement glasses in under 1 week.
$79 for 2 pair of glasses, right? Well not if you want lenses. Then the price doubles.
Want anything else, bifocals, lenses that are not real thick, it is really going to cost you.
After I kept answering no to all the options the price came to $129. Then I was told someone had to come and review the price. The "heavy hitter" came and informed me that it is a "package" deal and it would cost even more. Yep, the price ended up being $150.
I got up and walked out.
For the online shopping, America's Best contact lens sells what we can't use then alters the merchandise that we never ordered without our permission to ship out, saying "we found a problem with your order". They notify the issue nearly one week after the order as another problem. They refuse communication with us on such trouble by not giving a reasonable customer service contact. I just had this issue, getting a voicemail saying that I was not allowed to use the contact lens I ordered, a week after the order. They left a phone number but I can't reach anyone on the 'forever wait on hold' Trash service is here.
So glad I read all of the terrible reviews ahead of time. I thought about going to the america's best in Altoona pa. But wow. No one was happy. I just don't know how this business survives. I will let many others know.
I have been wearing glasses for over 50 years. Bought new glasses at America's best a few months ago and spenquite a bit by the time I got out of there. The glasses scratched up very quickly and easily. The frames are pretty cheap made also. I went in to ask about the glasses I have had just a few months and they said nothing they could do. I spent a lot of money on totally worthless glasses. Whatever you do don't shop there.
Do not waste your time going to this place the people are rude they do not know what they're doing and it's a complete waste of time don't shop there. The glasses are cheap they scratch real easy or contacts suck
David was my sales person. First time i have had progressive lenses that i could actually see out of. Did not realize i had vision coverage on my insurance. Went in and was handled very kindly by Dejuan. Was given a full refund, did a new order, ran my insurance card and received a refund of $170.00 with no hassle. I highly recommend these people.

I went to Americas best at the loop at 755 W Osceola Parkway for an eye exam and to purchase new glasses. I had the best experience there. I was taken care of by a gentleman name Ivo. He was very professional. He took his time to explain to me what I needed and he patiently answered all my questions on everything I needed to know. He was kind and caring. He was a sweetheart. I really appreciate him for making my experience a great one. I would absolutely come back and I will tell everyone to go to this America Best. Definitely a 10 Star.
Went to America's best on Jan 30th for exam glasses and contacts. Purchased 2 pair for glasses. Paid for it as well as had my insurance billed for their portion. They made me travel there 3 times, once for the exam, once to pick up glasses and once to pick up trial contacts. After i confirmed to them by phone that contacts were ok and requested the prescription they refuse to mail or email or send the prescription unless i travel there 4th time! I explained that i can no longer go there and take off work not to mention that i am out of the country. They still refuse! I went there because of the 2 pairs of glasses and eye exam for $69.99 deal. To make sure there were no hidden costs and to see if the price also, included the lenses and prescription, I called the day before to confirm. The employee I spoke to on phone confirmed, yes it includes everything. There would only added costs if I got lens thinning, transition lenses, or frames that were not included in the $69.99 price. After I got there, I was informed it may not cover prescription costs and it only included the frames. Complete bait and switch, and total scam. The employee wasted my time, was either told to misrepresent the price to me over the phone, or was poorly trained. Either way, I was mislead and lied too. A complete waste of time and Uber fare traveling there
Waiting time for 1.5 hr, even though I was there on time. No papers were given to me after my exam, only the receipt of the purchase. When I called asking to mail me RX to be able to buy glasses online, they said ok we will mail you the RX and it will get to you in 2 weeks (15 min drive from me!) After that a realized I needed Pupillary Distance measurements and they never gave it to me either. Called them up and they said its your fault basically, you never asked. I said how did I know? You gave me an envelope and said you are all set. So when I asked to mail me the Pupillary Distance they said they cant. Or I need to wait another month. Or come over myself. Disgusting! I have two little kids and its not so easy for me to travel with them. At the end they said yeah sorry our fault, we should have given it to you but oh well there is nothing we can do now.
I am never going back and absolutely dont recommend that place!
Went in for $79.95 exam and 2 pairs of glasses. The doctor was knowledgeable and very friendly. My appointment was for 11:40. I was not seen by the doctor until 12:40. She was apologetic for my wait. When I met with the tech she started quoting statistics with insurance. I told her I did not want to use my insurance as I usually wear my contacts. I explained I wanted one pair of no line bifocals, which I fully expected to pay additional fee for. She quoted me $364 for both pairs. I said well how much would it be with my insurance? She ran the numbers & then informed me the price would be $289. I said that is not much savings. She said well it was $390. I said what happened to the $364. She said that was first quoted when she initially thought we were using insurance. She told me she quoted me $390 did not happen! I looked at the paperwork & it shows total bill $512? Walked out using insurance and paying $289. Will not be back! What a hot mess!
I purchased 2 pair of glasses from you what a big mistake. The lens are very cloudy doesn't matter how you clean them. They won't come clean 1st of all you gave me a piece of paper to clean the glasses. I've never purchased glasses and received a blue paper
From you, absolutely ridiculous. I spent $540 your technician said the lens were okay. What a waste of money and time coming to your store. I will NEVER recommend anyone to your establishment. Rating a zero
Went in to resolve issue with contact lens. Said I had to wait 2 weeks. But since I'm not wearing them because of blurry vision, I should not have to wait 2 weeks since there is nothing to confirm if this is the right fit.The lady at the desk tells me not to wear them if I can't see.Of coarse I'm not wearing them, I just want to fix the problem. Not interested in trying to help me out. Bad customer service
They advertise 2 for 69.00. I realize that price is for the frames only HOWEVER, when you enter their store, they have a section of glasses with a sign above saying 2/69.00. The next section has another price, then another section etc. There should NEVER be higher priced frames mixed in with the 69.00 frames! It misleading. My bill was a lot more than i expected because the frame i thought i was choosing from the 69.00 section was mixed in with the 69.00 frames. The 69.00 frame section should be 69.00! It's almost like a bait and switch. I really like the eye doctor there but won't be going back next year!
I was under the assumption I would be getting 2 pair of glasses for 79.99 well that is a gimmick just to get you in the store. I understand the additional cost for extra that i choose for my glasses but once you add anything to your glasses, They separate the glasses you choose and no longer get 2 pair for one money. It's a scam. My 2 pair of glasses for 79.99 ended up costing me 252$ I will never go to this place again and the only thing they are americas best at is scamming you. The only thing good about this place was the eye doctor
I got 2 pair of glasses from America's best.i couldn't see out of them but they insist I get use to them.i asked for another examination. They insisted the glasses I got was what I needed but I could see out of them.they said they was going to charge me for the examination.i told them they said the examination was free.i was thrown out with out my glasses or money.its a scam to get u in for a free examination then charge you for it if u don't like what you get and I'm sure you won't be happy.save your self and go some where else.walmart eye center is way better
I have nothing good to say about this place, specifically the one in Winter garden, Fl. The worst customer service, the man who adjusts the frames is the toughest and worst person to be in that position. The answers to our questions were rude and without respect! Very bad experience, both me and my husband and my whole family will not return to that place. It is sad that the opinion of a place is damaged by the behavior of a single employee...

Answer: From my experience, calling America's Best customer service is an exercise in wasting time. The telephone supervisor I spoke with displayed no interest in the mistreatment at the store, the store's loss of eye exam/purchase records, or the manager's apparent hostility towards the disabled. I was actually informed all America's Best stores have a partially hidden ("not-prominently displayed") sign stating the store can refuse service to anyone. This should be investigated.

Answer: Potential customers have the option of going online and going through the wide variety of frames (divided into men, women, and kids and price-point categories). Then, go to the store, hand your list to your consultant, and try on the frames. There are other on-line sellers that glasses by mail. I was turned off at the complicated criteria for measuring one's face for a proper fit. I prefer to get fitted on-site, not online.
Answer: I can't answer for any store but the one I visited. My eye exam there was conducted on Saturday morning. I do believe all stores do offer Saturday appointments, but best check by calling first.
