Amazon may be a great place to buy as a prime member, but the message boards are really poor to discuss in. With the "Do you think this post adds to the discussion" feature makes it an useless system wherever you go. It is the only system for their forums, but some kids had to abuse it just to make a fool out of themselves. Most forums don't have that feature.
Other than that, I was thinking of getting a fighting pad controller for the PS3. However, they ran out and it costs more than $35 to get it from... United Kingdom. Some prices of the products the other sellers handed out are more than their original prices. It's unbelievable to have Gears of War on the PC being sold secondhand for $33 on Amazon compared to $20 on Windows Games Live Marketplace.
What's good for me is the prime membership. They may give me free shipping, but I'm still furious with the warehouse deals selling a game "like new" for $33. Seriously, Jeff Bezos sold me the Kindle Fire, then trying to sell people with the HD version and now he wants to compete against Apple for a Kindle smartphone? He makes me laugh to ever think of going against the big two of the computer industry. They don't have a lot apps, but I'm sure they're a waste. I'm giving it a 3/5. The prime membership may be strong, but the customer services mentioned by others along with the buyers/sellers community are weak. I suggest not go to the discussion boards.

Been using Amazon for years and have never had a bad experience. The one time I had a problem they took care of the problem quickly and refunded a portion of the sale to make me happy.
The only warning I would give is that when purchasing through Amazon sometimes you are buying through another company that is listing their product on Amazon. You can see several companies may be listing the same item and you can chose which you prefer. The biggest problem is that people jump too quickly onto the cheapest price. Remember cheaper isn't always better look at the ratings and know that the reduced price could be because they have bad ratings so the price is to entice you over to them.
I always go with the more reputable option and to be honest the price difference is normally only a few dollars. Not worth the headache of chasing the other company down to get your order!
Amazing site! Great customer service. Had a kindle fire that would not work and no questions asked sent me my replacement, got it in two days and sent back the broken one, no questions, no hassle and the new one works great.
They understand how to keep customers, I will use them over and over again. More businesses need to take a lesson from amazons customer service if they want to survive the long haul.

I have shopped at Amazon for quite a while now I also buy different things from there. To pc games, textbooks, I have even bought blank dvds! As with anything online you should read the reviews really good and listen to that inside voice. I would recommened Amazon to anyone for anything.

I ordered a crib convert kit from diapers.com. I didn't unpack it till like 30 days later. I found out that it doesn't fit the crib we have. I thought it passed returning period and the kit was very heavy. I would have to pay a lot on shipping back to get refund. And just out of curiosity I went to their return page and filled in the form, I was happy to find out that they send me the shipping label and allow me to return their product. All I need to do is dropping in UPS. Very happy with the experience
A couple of months ago i wanted to buy a bag and haven't found it on any website, just on amazon. What i loved more is that they also had the lowest price! Ordered it, they told me it's going to come in 4 to 7 days, but it was delivered in 3!

I have not had a problem with the US based site (slightly different experience with the UK site) and cant say enough about how efficient they are.
It is sometimes slow to get things out but I have rarely had this problem.

Mistakes happen, I understand that. But how a company handles a mistakes is what I judge by. I recently ordered a used camera from Warehouse Deals. It arrived with any interface cables. When I contacted amazon they offered me a partial refund to let me source the part locally or I could return the camera for a full refund. I elected the partial refund and my account was credited within a couple hours.

Answer: This problem began when Amazon Market Place started up and when I saw how bad it was with sellers selling at 3 to 4 times the full retail price at other online stores, it was a hint for me to stop supporting Amazon Market Place. If its sold by Amazon, I might buy it but I do my utmost to find a lower price so I don't have to buy it from Amazon. More often than not Bestbuy or Staples has it for the same or lower price. Bought an Asus RT AC 5300 from Bestbuy for 500 Canadian and it doesn't sell for less at Amazon. Returns are no hassle 30 day returns and no shipping just take it to a local retail store and that saves the wrapping and shipping.
