I have been using Amazon.com for several years and highly recommend it. I've purchased everything from vacuum cleaner bags to electronics. My most recent purchase was a Slime tire gauge. I mentioned a vitamin site in another review, but I also use Amazon occasionally for health products and beauty supplies, depending on availability and cost. So far I haven't had any negative experiences.
You can almost order anything now on Amazon, everything I have ordered was acceptable, in some cases I made it acceptable cause if you open it, it is yours unless it is returned in the original packaging... My only other hangup is with the shipping and the push to go with Prime on every order form that you go through.
To their credit, the delivery is always really fast and you can have your own wish list and add and subtract to it which is always a good thing for me so I don't order 3 copies of the same book this month...
All in all, the shipping price is what holds me back the most. But its not a bad site at all...

I ordered some laundry detergent after receiving a coupon in the mail and also an email for a discount. I received a large box full of outdated blank computer paper. No joke. About 15 lbs of computer paper. I feel sorry for the UPS guy who lugged it up my driveway. I know how heavy it was to lug it to my recycle bin. What a nightmare. We'll see if customer service comes through with the fix.
This is one of the site that i used pretty often, it offers lots of varieties from toys to clothes, easy to use, the delivery time is always great and the prices are definitely competitive. I really do like this site. Really well done.
Amazon is and will be one of my favorite stores. It's trusted, easy to use, so I don't want to worry about my money or any harm that can be done with the shipping. Recommended shop
I love Amazon. I think it's better than eBay most of the time. With Amazon I can get all kinds of great CDs, DVDs and video games for really low prices. What I like better about this than eBay, is with eBay you have to compete for everything and the infamous eBay Snipers almost always win. Plus eBay sellers are allowed to add little stipulations to auctions that contractually force the would-be-buyer to agree to in order to make a purchase. With Amazon, none of that is a problem because they don't let it work that way. The ONLY things I have to say negative about Amazon is that the sellers can't combine shipping prices which means if you buy 2 or more CDs from a seller, and they only have to spend $3 to ship them, you still have to pay $2.98 for shipping, for each CD. So the shipping on Amazon can you from a cart sub-total value of $5 and you end up with a $30 total. I also with sellers had to leave feedback for buyers as well. But with the way Amazon buying works it really doesn't matter. That's my ONLY gripe with Amazon. Other than that 1 thing they kill eBay in every single category you can think of. I talk to Amazon reps via-chat anytime I need an answer. Good luck contacting eBay reps!
Amazon I give 4 / 5 only because the shipping will bite you in the butt!
Wish every company could be trusted like Amazon. Always a great shopping experience.
I'm a Prime member, that may have had something to do with the following.
In December I ordered a fragrance for one of my daughters. She never recieved it and the vendor gave me the run around, ie; numerious emails.
One month from placing the order Amazon stepped in and refunded my money directly back onto my debit card.
I love amazon, I usually buy on the site of amazon.com and amazon.de
I never had problems with amazon, good online shops ans honnest shops (most important), good quality and sometimes it's less expensive than the same clothes in other webshops^^
Received my cellphone cases quickly and they were on point with the arrival date! I love amazon!
I went to amazon last week as I would want to see review on some products I wanted to buy. I just find it hard to find what I am looking for in the forum site... I hope they can improve the lay out of listings and refine the result in search.
Well, good thing is that there is this tracking option, so If I leave a post or question I can be informed easily
Very useful in finding alternative ink for our ink guzzling printer. One of my first assignments was trying to find a way to keep from spending $40 every time we ran out of ink. I purchased an entire set from Amazon... for under $10.
I'd call that a deal.
Dont buy from Amazon seller Stores123.
I bought this as a Christmas present for my fiance who likes modern furniture. I received the item and upon unpacking it, it seemed as though it had already been unpacked. The box was tattered and the packing tape had been retaped. Once I opened the product, I inspected it and found the underside fabric was torn where there was a piece of the wood frame supporting the center. It was not a large tear but it was a tear never-the-less. I decided that it was likely a used product sent by mistake so I repacked it immediately. Given that Christmas was a few days away, I went to a local furniture shop and found something similar to buy in time for Christmas.
I bought the product because it was on Amazon so I felt comfortable. I do understand Amazon uses 3rd party sellers and the return policy for this seller seemed straight-forward: if the product is damaged, they buyer can return it for a full refund. The seller has been trying to get the 15% restocking fee from the beginning of my communication with them. I dont think I should have to pay $100+ to them because they sent me a used product by mistake. They are claiming that there is no tear on the bottom fabric but that is absolutely not true and I am surprised they would blatantly lie like that. They have even sent me photos they took upon return of the product and the tear is shown (again, it is not big, but it is there and it is something I would consider as damage and would buy off a classified bulletin board).
At this point, I have requested them to refund me 100% of what I paid and I have disputed the charge through my credit card issuing bank. Stores123 have not replied to me with any message indicating they will provide me a 100% refund. They have offered to send me the product back (which I clearly do not want) or to pay a 15% restocking fee. I really feel extorted here as they are in clear violation of their return policy.
I have been buying from Amazon for years now and never had a bad experience as long as my merchandise was sold and shipped by Amazon and not one of their sellers. Not to say the sellers are all bad but Autopro jacked me for a Linkin Park Cd I ordered. He claimed it was autographed by Chester Bennington and it was supposed to be a collector's item. He also claimed to have one left. The day after I ordered this CD Autopro listed this same CD (Not yet released by the band) as having 4 in stock and the price went up. They were no longer collectors items and none were autographed. I never did get the cd but Amazon was very good about returning my money. I can't say that about paypal.
So far i have ordered 3 times and everything has been good but with a little work i think they can improve to get that fifth star
It all depends on your seller. If you get a good seller, the items will come quick. Although sometimes things are a TADDD bit overpriced! In my experience, Things have always come quick and without complications. Again! Depends on seller... But always read seller and item reviews first.
Hope I helped!
No free shipping in Canada? Aw.
Other then that, is great. Much better then the Canadian counterpart, which currently only offers books.
I realy like amazon,, if a seller sends you a bad prod, or your order gets damage in shipping,, amazon takes care of it and will take care of it fast,,, don't like to wait on shipping join amazon prime and with prime you get a lot of things not just two day shipping,,
Amazon.com is one of the best online companies out there. Their user account ordering pages and save items to a cart for later use is terrific. I had used them for years now. Delivery is lightening fast and if they sold the product, they stand behind it. My personal information has never been breached and I have had many pleasant and successful transactions with Amazon.com.
Answer: I concur with all of the above answers except about the kindle. I have contacted Amazon via phone and they were very helpful.
Answer: Bought a hair dryer for my daughter in Melbourne. Arrived no probs.
Answer: Try Walmart! They deliver food too, and they accept EBT as well. I am switching to Walmart now because I ordered food from Amazon Fresh on 4 different occasions, and never received my groceries. I am disabled and I live alone, so I need delivery service to be reliable and dependable. Clearly, Amazon Fresh is neither reliable nor dependable, which sucks.
Answer: I have never shipped or had things shipped to or from Australia. Sorry
Answer: This problem began when Amazon Market Place started up and when I saw how bad it was with sellers selling at 3 to 4 times the full retail price at other online stores, it was a hint for me to stop supporting Amazon Market Place. If its sold by Amazon, I might buy it but I do my utmost to find a lower price so I don't have to buy it from Amazon. More often than not Bestbuy or Staples has it for the same or lower price. Bought an Asus RT AC 5300 from Bestbuy for 500 Canadian and it doesn't sell for less at Amazon. Returns are no hassle 30 day returns and no shipping just take it to a local retail store and that saves the wrapping and shipping.
Answer: Yes I do on the items I purchase and also through google and sitejabber
Answer: It takes longer if you don't pay monthly for Amazon prime.
Answer: The shipping cost is in the listing if that's what you're asking. If you click on new/used, it will be below the cost. If you have Prime, most things are free shipping.
Answer: You answer on the actual question I believe.
Answer: The above answers are good - I agree that a personal contact on the phone is best. - Go to 'Your Account', then click 'Let Us Help You' -then click Help - Then 'need more help',- then click 'Contact Us' - fill out the 3 steps and choose 'more no norder questions, - then clock on phone - from there it will direct you (how long the wait etc and they call you back)
