I have a problem with my ADT monitoring service, so I called no one responded instead the automated,machine to give a choice to wait for a phone call within 36 minutes, I waited two hours no one called back. Awful service.
ADT security when it comes to Billing Queries and your monthly statement will be hell for you.Socail media Consultants even will ask you if you want to cancel the the service without getting into the actual query and try to resolve your issue putting themselves in your shoes.
The ADT alarm keeps going off! A year ago, we discontinued ADT after 2 years of service because their price kept increasing. All was fine until one month ago. The ADT alarm panel reactivated and the house alarm went off multiple times. When contacted, ADT said it was not their problem and we would have to inactivate the system ourselves. We have to get an electrician because ADT hardwired their system into the wiring. BEWARE of ADT!
I called ADP yesterday to cancell my service primarily bc the raised the montly fee again. Every years it is few more dollars. Now that I am retired I planned to go with an alarm system like Ring or one of the others. The customer service rep was extremely intimidating and told me horror story about the Ring alarm system. They told me I would be charged more for my Home Owners Insurance and no one would come to my aide if I was broken into, etc. Then he tried to convince my lowering my monthy rate from $62 to $25. I told him my mind was made up bc ADT customer service is not that great either. Changed me $75 to come out and put a battery in my motion detector even though I told them I was in a wheelchair and could not reach it. He continued to try and intimidate me and I shut the call down. Today ADT called me 4 times, but I did not answer the phone. I am relieved to have left this behind.
We decided to go with a adt security contingent on the answers we recieved from the salesmen. Later down the road we were having several issues with the cameras, etc. We then notified adt that we were moving and were told the system stays with the house and we would have to buy out of the remaining term of the contract for $1,000. This place is crooked and they hired liars. I WILL NEVER do business with the again and the cameras only caught activity half the time.
I have been sent to three different people trying to cancel my service. I first tried to cancel online but was told I had to talk to a rep in person. They list a number to call to cancel - 1-800-adt-asap, but that is only a telemarking company who tries to talk you into keeping the service. They then transfer you to another customer service rep "who can help you with your request" but who in fact is just another rep trying to talk you into keeping the service. They then transfer you to "customer service" - still on hold over 20 minuets. I hate this lack of true customer service - will never use them in the future.
I have been on hold currently for over 3 hours. Not to mention the numerous other days I have called and waited on jold for over 2 hours. I have been trying to cancel my security service for over a month. Paid balance and they are still withdrawing money from my account. I call and call and am transfered 3 an 4 times then told they will call me back. Every time I call to speak to the person I spoke to last time they are nor available so of course the process starts all over again so I will never use this company again and I strongly suggest no one else to use them.

And I go for a walk I'm back 40minutes later and It's disarmed The alarm said "Warning Fire" No fire and when I go to the security panel it's been open. The back door was open too. The alarm has been a really horrible alarm. The alarm randomly set's off. And now thanks to ADT I paid 3900$ For this stupid thing to get un-installed
Called them to cancel as I was not happy with the service from ADT. Calle 3 weeks ago to cancel I was transferred from one dept to another 12-14 times and they still didn't cancel the account. After 3 weeks I followed up to see the status of cancellation turns out it was not canceled. Even today I am on the phone for over 3 hours and the same $#*! calls getting transferred from one department to another. To my knowledge, ADT was a great company but the service they provide is 100 TIMES extremely horrible.
I have been an ADT customer for over 18 years and did not have any problems until recently. I have to call at least twice (usually 4 times) and be transferred several times to get the wrong information. They do not seem to know what equipment I have; why wouldn't they have a record? I am repeatedly given information that does not apply to me. Why do I have to send pictures to prove the You Tube videos they refer me to or the batteries they tell me to order are wrong?
I have lost a lot of confidence in ADT and their ability to be of service to me.
I have had adt for several years with no issues. I moved recently and had back to back issues where I was having to call in several times to have the same issue resolved. The last issue I had was that I was billed for things not installed in my house upon moving. I called in multiple times and they told me the local team needed to call me back which they never did. Finally I begged billing to have one of their managers call me to help because I didn't know what else to do. One of their business managers, Miguel Ramos, called me and was wonderful and after dealing with this issue for weeks was able to resolve it right away. Huge shoutout to Miguel. We're so thankful we were able to get out money back for the items not installed.

The prices are incredibly high, the hardware is not quality, the service and support is poor and the extent they will go to stop you from cancelling is ridiculous. I will never use this company again and worn anyone looking for security to choose a more ethical organization with better technology, value and service. LOOK ELSEWHERE! NOT ADT.
Its funny I see a 1 star rating and that is only because that is the lowest you can go. STAY AWAY unless you like a company that states they are reliable that is because they do not accept responsibility for anything. I have an issue and I am not going to boar you with the details but all I get from everyone there is that was the contractors issue and to call them. It may say ADT but they are just a brand that is a scam. I switched to them from Simply Safe and that was a mistake. That's what happens when you think you are saving money. RUN AWAY it's a fraud
Attempted to cancel on May 6 2023, they said I have to talk to someone in retention but that office was closed so they said somebody would call me the next day but they never did. Fast forward to today where I went to cancel the service. The first person couldn't talk to me. They said I need to talk to loyalty retention. I proceeded to wait 46 minutes till the person answered then that person transferred me to another person and by an hour and 17 minutes later I was a fourth person who was ready to transfer me to assess. This is deplorable, deplorable, manipulative behavior, on the part of AGT I moved I considered using the same service in my new location but after what I just went through tonight absolutely not don't do it that does the manipulation. Wow.
STAY AWAY from ADT. Worst company that I ever delt with. Their monitoring system sucks. Consumer relations sucks. I have been paying this system for 5 years. This is my worst investments. I had countless system failures and alarms. They never called.
The worst, I have been trying to cancel for the past 6 months. Finally they did and told me since I am just asking to cancel they will not reimburse the few months that I stopped paying. To make matters worst, I paid the equipment off since June. A tech came to my house to troubleshoot the system, and told me that I have to upgrade to their new wireless system. It is all about money.
They are blaming me that I did not get the right department, when they are the ones who were transferring me from departments to departments. Yet, they see all the notes of my calls for the last year asking to be cancelled.
It is all about Money, they do not care about the consumer.
Find another company. Trust me.
I have used ADT for almost 20 years, and frankly they gave pretty good service, but don't obviously respect long term customers. I upgraded my cameras almost 2 years ago and paid for it up front, what they didn't tell me was this extended service contract for 3 years, when I sold my business the new buyer was not sure about using ADT, so after 20 years they billed me $1700 and were quite rude, the sales guy never told me had contract emailed to my phone pionted to spot to sign order which I did. But on the printed version it shows I agreed, did not show on the phone only signature line. The rude people on the phone told me I signed the contract too bad.
Hidden Contract and cancellation policies:
It's a scammy trick from the get-go with a hidden contract and cancellation policy with fees. After 15 minutes on the phone with Christian he told me I had to call another number and tell a different person that I want to cancel my service, and that there is a wait time of 20 minutes. When I tried to call the number he gave me the recording said a wait time of 51 minutes. They are scammers and they want your money, not your business.
It takes forever to get the contract canceled, they will let you wait on the line forever until you give up first! And my neighbors got simplilife or other options, they all look better, work great and cheaper! So please look for other cheaper and better options other than this basic company who'll rip you off!
TERRIBLE COMPANY. Avoid them if at all possible. Been paying monthly since 2018. ADT System malfunctioning in three locations at our business. Called Customer Service and they wanted me to spend a half day testing, pulling batteries and reinstalling the sysetm myself. Finally asked for a serviced tech and they charged $59 plus repair costs.
Answer: Difficult to reach them and even more difficult to reach someone who can assist accurately. A lot of billing hassles.
Answer: No $60 call out service charge anytime there are any issues including dying batteries.
