If they could have no stars they would! They tell lies, sell you terrible product and the service and customer service suck! They even steal your money your on auto pay they take what ever amount they want to out on what day when you finally speak to someone their answer is we will credit your account! After their faulty equipment kept failing I canceled my service I prepaid month ahead they cut off my alarm system that night after being told I had a month, the same day I canceled my account at the bank because I am smart sure enough a month later they sent a statement saying this ( See attached) they tried stealing money out over and over starting the next day in amounts of over $ 1,200.00. This is illegal who wants to go in on a class action lawsuit against this place I am so tired of this company! Sounds like they have sucked alot of us!
How is this company still in business? After they installed for a low price the install was over 300% more than they said plus cameras never worked. It took several calls holding for over 119 minutes for customer service to be told they need to transfer us.
Then we just wanted to cancel everything, but after 4 months of calls, not being able to cancel online, we canceled the Visa. We are not in a contract so 1 call should have worked. But we can not get this canceled and they continue to charge and are now calling to collect the money. This is not a fun company. The AG office has been contacted at this point. We would like all out money refunded.
Please do not believe these scammers. They are utterly useless and the worst service. Unauthorised transactions and poor service. Still trying to contact them for refund. None of the customer services have any clue of what they are doing.
Just spent over 3000.00 for a security system and have issues with a device. Called to get help and they want to charge for the visit, absurd! In addition when the alarm has gone off, no one calls to make sure everything is ok, aren't they supposed to do this with monitored paid plan?
Was promised that if I move to a new location where ADT doesn't have service in I'll get a full refund. Absolute BS. When push come to shove they completely shook off of their promises and said that I will have to: "pay off the remaining of the contract" and "pay off the equipment in full". Claimed they wont reuse the equipment even if I returned it (I don't believe that). This company is absolute sham. Running business practices from the 90's. Why do we still have these shade non-cancelable contracts allowed anymore? $#*! these guys.
I have been unable to use my system since April, 2020. I contacted them many times to close my account, but they refused. I started getting bills, which I refuse to pay, as I didn't receive service. I finally got the account closed, and told the "supervisor" that I was not liable for the charges, and would not pay. She said, "it's taken care of."
What she meant, apparently, was that my account would be sent to a collection agency.
I will not pay this invalid bill.
I was having trouble with my carbon dioxide detector. It was chirping. I changed the battery, and it still chirped. I attempted to call to talk with someone, but one automated call tree after another connected me with someone who did not speak native English. I gave them a try, but with me repeating, and them repeating, it was painful. I tried "chatting", which is even worse. I've burned two hours on this and the best answer I have is to change to another company. ADT should charge a dollar more and hire someone in the U.S. I gave them one star because sitejabber would not allow me to give zero.
Over the past few months I have been provided with the worst customer service ever with ADT. They auto-drafted over $400 from my checking account with no notice whatsoever and have passed me around to several different reps over the past few months all who were not helpful and all who told me false information. They still owe me almost $700 back and continue to treat me like I don't matter at all. I have documentation and proof of all this and they continue to tell me they will "see what they can do" and never resolve anything or get me my money back. This poor service has been going on since July. I will never ever ever use them again and will advise everyone I can speak to to stay away from them unless they like their money to be taken from them and withheld without reason, help, or a solution.
This horrible company does not deserve one star it is the worst company it has dishonest employees they contract with dishonest crappy companies and I'm not wasting my breath to even explain my horrible experience with these freaks just don't use them
In June it ia three years with Adt. In April I called them to cancel my contract. They told me without a penalty I would have to wait till June when the 3 year contract would be up. That was fine with me. In April i got two cameras added and i was given to understand it was a separate contract. When I got a customer service representative after being on the line all day he said I cannot cancel my contract because i signed a new one in April. That is a rip off. The cameras were separate. Now i am tied to a contract for another two years. I cannot get anyone to talk to. Very frustrating and unhappy with ADT. Beware before you get any service.
Tech support has NO IDEA what they are doing, no training, reading from guide book, cannot answer the simplest question. Each person tells you something different, and nothing works to fix a problem. This company is running neck and neck with Cablevision as the worst company that takes your money every month and provides endless hours of frustration.
We have a manual key pad that was no longer working so we couldn't turn the alarm off, about thirty minutes later ADT so called Security calls, we can't turn it off and they wouldn't do my husband cut wires on alarm speaker, about an hour later they decided to be so very kind as to turn it off. We agreed to an appointment with them to send a technician to replace the faulty key pad. Here's the thing too is you're taking off from work and the technical never showed up and did not call so then I have to call to ask and get told some lame made-up excuse. And no I don't want to reschedule, I'll find a different home security company!
The adt sales people hid facts and then give you a service contract that locks you into extremely costly services you did not ask for over a three year period. We asked for emergency services only and are now stuck with computer monitoring we did not want. The contract small print can not be understood. Do not work with them. Simplesafe would have been so much safer!
The customer service has been horrible to work with. There's a 6 month money back guarantee that they tell you about but they do not let you get out of the contract if the cameras aren't working because that is not apart of the "security system." ADT is not at all concerned with the quality of their service and security. Their only goal is to lock you into a contract to make you pay thousands of dollars with zero care about your customer experience. Dealing with ADT has felt like a total scam!

ADT customer service is horrible. These people will hang the phone up on you all the time. They tell you different stories about your bill every time I call them. They cant be trusted. Get another security system the customer service is not worth the headache. Trust me on this.
ADT does not have the system to notify its customers when the business alarm was armed or disarmed. I had tried 5 times to get help on this issue and no one seem to either comprehend or fix the problem. The bad choice I made to switch the alarm company.
This is my second year into the contract with ADT. First year, no issues. This year has been a nightmare.
My cameras are constantly malfunctioning. Technicians have been out here twice. The cameras work for a couple of days and then they are off again. If you call, expect to be on hold for an average of 20 minutes. The chat is completely useless as the help they can provide is minimum. The email assistance is worthless, as they send basically a copy of what is in the troubleshoot section of their website.
If you need help, they will give you an appointment for a call with a technician, which can be several days down the road. In the meantime, you are still paying for no service. Today they told me, via email, that I can cancel but have to pay the reminder of the contract balance, even though they have not provided the service they were hired to.
This is the worst company I have dealt with.
Despite having cancelled on the phone previously, no record of cancellation could be found so a balance continued to grow. After getting cut off and then enduring a long hold time, cancelled service AGAIN and paid balance for services in a home no one lives in.
ADT is not transparent with it's installation cost, monitoring cost or cancelation fees. They use fishing tactics like free visa gift cards to entice new customers into years long contracts. Beware that you will not receive the visa gift card because after you sign the contact, ADT will claim that they offset (or reduced) a portion of the cost of installation by the value of the gift card and therefore you will not receive a give card as promised. I should have done my research before signing up with this company. I learned the hard way. Please Please avoid ADT. Go with a trustworthy company and pay less for better service like Simplisafe, Vivint or Xfinity. Beware, review sites that list ADT as their #1 pick is actually a site operated by ADT. Bottom line, Avoid high cost, long contacts, 3 party vendors and poor customer service. Avoid ADT!
Thought after 4 transferred calls I would finally talk to a person without someone trying sell me. Got to someone in cancellation, he said no problem he will do a transfer to our family who moved into our home and give the same price because nothing changes or adding on anything new. It was all lie. He charged more to my family member and sent out technicians to do what?! Just to look around the house?! ADT is SCAM. We use another company at a new house and couldn't be happier. Don't ever tell ADT your new home address. We got the house broken into at our house when we were talking to sale rep at ADT, we have a feeling they have something to do with it.
Answer: Difficult to reach them and even more difficult to reach someone who can assist accurately. A lot of billing hassles.
