Recently Zulily has been advertising that some items are eligible for return which was, I thought, a break from their usual no return policy. When referring to items being eligible for return, it says on the website, "Return shipping charges may apply." Well, that sounds reasonable. Right? That's what I thought. Until today when I requested to return 2 shirts I'd ordered, which were way too small because they misrepresented the sizing. I would normally wear a small in every other brand. From experience, I've learned to size up with Zulily. I ordered both shirts in a medium, and both were too small. One was like an XXS. In requesting the return, and printing the return label, it had the price of the item, minus an $8.95 restocking fee, and a $5.95 charge for the return label FOR EACH SHIRT! One of the shirts was $14.99, so if I returned it, I would've basically been paying them to take the shirt back. The restocking fee alone is over 50% of the cost of the shirt to begin with. The other shirt was $29.99. But to return both shirts I'd have to pay $30 in restocking fees and return shipping. So I'd be paying $30 to return $45 worth of shirts. Does that make sense to anyone? These shirts weighed probably 3 ounces a piece. They're going to the same place. Why would I need to pay two separate shipping charges, and why does it cost nearly $9 to restock a $14.99 shirt? They are pocketing a large portion of the return shipping and restocking fees and price gouging the consumer. They also wanted it returned by 7/27/17 (Today is 7/17/17), although it takes over a month to get orders from them most of the time. I had several email exchanges with customer service reps. None were helpful. They said, "I'd love to explain to you why we do this. We are trying to make things more convenient for the customer by offering returns like other online stores." Give me a break! Convenient? I have spent thousands of dollars with this company, and they're going to charge me $30 to return 2 shirts, and insult me by saying it's in the name of convenience? KMA Zulily! I will not spend one more cent on the made in China crap you sell! And I will make sure everyone knows about it!
Zulilly has a lot of other companies it goes thru for items so it all depends who you are ordering thru i ordered a couple storage solution type items got them in a decent time and are working well have had them for about 2 wks i also ordered two dresses they are great fit just right and nice soft fabric and they came in good time. Now for the you never know i also ordered two pairs of leggings with fleece lining well i think they are for plus size children they were not even long enough for me and i am 5'3" so its like a 50/50 chance you get what u want luckily my cousin is a foster parent and runs a clothing closet so i wont even try to return them but donate to my cousin. The leggings also took the longest to get but i watched the tracking thing and as soon as the got to zulilly the came quick so it just took forever for them to get there from other company. The dresses were from bellino and dex and the leggings from mopas. Hopefully they will root out these comapanies that have bad products and slow shipping and then zulilly will be better.
I've purchased many items from Zulily.com over the past six months, ranging from housewares to baby clothes to online vouchers. Throughout it all, I've noticed that I had to be extremely diligent about researching the "sale" price of any item, as you can often find any given item at an equal or slightly lower price at Amazon.com or other retail stores. When I do find a deal that saves a few dollars, I have to be additionally diligent as I have yet to find a Zulily item that is returnable (even when it does not arrive as predicted/advertised).
That said, I recently purchased a voucher (spend $30 for $60 worth of tinyprints.com merch) for tinyprints.com on a Zulily sale. On the deal page, there was NO mention that this "voucher" couldn't be combined with other promotional offers on tinyprints.com (as I reviewed the page thoroughly). Upon trying to use this "voucher," Zulily's "offer" was to purchase a PROMOTIONAL CODE from tinyprints.com worth $60 off, not a gift certificate or other form of payment that expressed that I had a voucher worth the genuine money I'd spent. As a result, any tinyprints.com discounts cannot be used (as tinyprints.com only allows one promo code to be used per piece of merchandise). As a result, I'm stuck with the option to buy $60 worth of only full-priced tinyprints.com merchandise (that you have to use one time and refund the remainder, by the way) and, despite calling customer service, no other recourse since the deal is not refundable in any way. When there are so many other competitive flash sale websites, why use one that doesn't allow returns, doesn't offer competitive prices, and allows account executives to engineer deals that screw over their customers? I sure won't be.
Why does shipping take so long? I ordered three tops on Feburary 12! As of today, the tops have not arrived. I'm not happy.
C'mon, wake up, this approach is obviously not working... I refuse to give up my firstborn just to look at your junk. Gone foreva~
I have loved all my purchases. So easy to order and When I had an issue it was resolved with ease. It is quit addicting!
This site good for some really good deals. Sales are great but most of the time you really have to be patient as it does take time to get delivered.
I find different things and everyone loves my gifts. I buy household items all the time.
Have bought clothes for myself, as well as for others.
I would rate Zulily with a 10 if it was available. Merchandise is top of the line along with the pricing, customer service is wonderful also.
I like Zuilly for the most part, it does take awhile to get things but because of prices it is worth the wait. The return price is a little steep
Impressed with choice items & brand names. I continue to receive emails for items previously out of stock and waiting for even after I buy them!
I ordered a multi color jumpsuit viewed on FB. It arrived without buttons or button holes! Too expensive to return!
I was very excited to see such cute things for my grandbabies but after reading all the bad reviews... im definitely NOT going to order anything... THANKU EVERY ONE FOR WARNING ME
This site is really hit or miss. I bought a few pairs of shoes by a brand I can never afford to buy from directly, the shoes were ridiculously cheap on Zulily. They arrived in good shape and I've had no problems with them! Plus shipping was crazy fast, so I'm pleased with that. One pair of shoes wasn't the colour pictured (not Zulily's fault, straight from the brand's website) I notified Zulily, their Canadian Costumer Service Rep was phenomenal and very personable. I'm now waiting on two separate orders to come in, they are also reputable brands at amazing prices.
That being said! There are tons of cheap crap products littered all over the Zulily website. Zulily slaps elegant sounding made up brand names onto what is otherwise cheap inventory from sites like Alibaba and DHGate. These are usually easy to spot (they tend to use Asian models), but if you're ever uncertain about what you're purchasing, just right click the product photo and conduct a Google Image Search. If you find the product blasted all over cheap overseas websites, you can pretty much guarantee that's who the real vendor is. This explains why so many people have received ill fitting, poor quality products. Sites like Wayfair are similar, they use these cheap products to bulk up inventory while they wait for more trustworthy brands to liquidate their overstock, these sites are by definition, overstock sites, meaning the good products are usually "last season's" styles. Once you learn how to navigate Zulily, what to look out for and what to avoid, the shopping experience is pretty good. My only major beef is that the Americans tend to get more selection than we do here in Canada, I know this because I only get the American sales flyer by email, and annoyingly when I open it up I have to manually switch the currency and refresh the page, which is when I notice the difference in available products.
On 5-21-17, I ORDERED 8 PAIR OF LEGGINGS BECAUSE I AM PREGNANT AND ITS VERY EASY TO WEAR. On 6-6-17 I received 2 pairs. When i checked to see if my other leggings had shipped they didn't until 6-12-17. Ok, so Im thinking yayy I should have them within a week right. WRONG. I clicked the tracking number within the email they sent me and it took me to some no name shipping site that gave me the same information every other day, like someone was just copying and pasting the same false info just to say they updated it. It kept saying Jamaica, NY, Elizabeth, NJ, and Atlanta, GA, over and over. Ok so i called Zulilly and they said, OH YOUR STUFF IS BEING SENT FROM CHINA SO ITS PROBABLY IN CUSTOMS. What? Ok fast forward... I called Zulilly again and a nice lady told me to just take the tracking number and put it into the usps website tracking system and you will be able to track it... FOR REAL. So today is 6-26-17 a month and 5 days after I spent my hard earned money on their website and still no leggings. When i do get them, i have a feeling im going to have to rip the tags out the back of the pants like i did the other 2 pairs because they are rough im so serious! I work and go to school so i dont have time for Zulilly's shenanigans. 1 & DONE! Never again!
Like several others I did not review this site prior to ordering. While on maternity leave I saw a commercial, went to their site and signed up, and began shopping. I fell in love with all the items I saw but decided to order a "test" item before placing a larger order to see how that experience would go. Although I didn't do a full review I did look over the sites shipping policy and understood before hand that shipping would take a very long time. This was fine for me because I had a newborn and she wouldn't need the stuff right away anyhow.
My test order which was just some hanging hooks and a Calvin Klein outfit for the infant came in just fine. I then began placing a large amount of orders and it was then after placing the orders that I decided for whatever dumb reason to pull reviews on the site. After my long three+ week wait, I just received the bulk of my orders yesterday. Though the sizes say age 6-12 months, unless she has a serious growth spurt, my daughter will not be fitting into the many tights I purchased until she's around 4 or 5 yrs old. The items were "cute" but I agree with other reviewers that their items are cheaply made. The inside of every LAST pair of tights that I ordered along with a pair of shoes had strings coming from them. Very poorly stitched almost looks thrown together. I'm going to accept personal responsibility for not doing my typical review search on this site before I purchased and just deal with the loose strings myself. The stuff is so darn cheap (ya get what ya pay for) that it has to be handled with extreme care. I have about two more orders on the way and after that, I'm severing ties with Zulilly. One because of all these negative reviews saying the same thing 2. As a company you should NEVER EVER send out a product in this condition. Its just unethical and uncouth from a business standpoint.
I have always been pleased with quality of purchases. Any returns have been handled promptly and professionally by customer service representatives.
Always so fun to look each morning to see what's new. Great Products and prices. Customer service has been great too
Bought a dress for Granddaughter. She loved it! She looked like a ballerina. I love the special deals and wide selections!
Love Zulily. They have a variety of things to buy. Prices are good and I never have a problem with shipping.
Answer: Zulily has awesome customer service! I have nothing bad to say about them! Definitely worth ordering from them... I have been happy every time (& I use it a lot!)
Answer: I have never ordered shoes from them but I agree that they likely vary according to brand. Contrary to other comments (that I am very suspicious of...) I have never waited a long time and the quality has always been as shown. There are so many rip-off sites out there and I suspect some hire people to post phony negative reviews on the 'good' sites. I do not recommend searching for cheaper products - you'll end up on a bogus, cheap site. I now research every site name and sift through comments - its exhausting but has saved me from spending money on sites that were not good.
Answer: Got money to burn? Order from Zulily. There isn't enough room on the Internet to list all the reasons you should NOT order from them!
Answer: Nope... no returns accept and good luck on getting a refund. Stay away from this site.
Answer: It could be a week or it could be 3 months. But my advice would be not to order at all. The sizes are never right (a small may fit someone that wears a large or it may be too small for an infant) and the quality sucks (the fabric on a dress I bought is so thin you can see through 4 layers). STAY AWAY FROM THIS SITE!
Answer: Wrong size, no return policy. Beware don't order from them
Answer: Sorry I don't know the answer, but it could explain why everything is so cheap
Answer: Yes, it may take that long, but they are up front about that on the item description page. I have never had a problem with them.
Answer: Let me just put this out there. The people who bought things from Zulily (and are unhappy with their purchases), probably didn't research the brand before they bought it. Think of Zulily like Marshalls or TJMaxx. That's what Zulily is, in online form. I just bought a hoodie from them, and researched the brand before I bought it. The particular hoodie was being discontinued, so they were selling it very cheaply. I bought it, and it is the real deal, originally $89. So research the brand. And don't expect your purchase quickly. They wait until they have enough orders to bulk purchase (another reason why their prices are low), before they buy. So it'll be a few weeks before you get it. I hope this helps.
Answer: If you bought them from Zulily, you might see about making your granddaughters feet smaller. I'm sure that's easier than dealing with Zulily.
Zulily has a rating of 2.3 stars from 4,525 reviews, indicating that most customers are generally dissatisfied with their purchases. Reviewers dissatisfied with Zulily most frequently mention store credit, return policy and poor quality. Zulily ranks 9th among Daily Deals sites.
