I used your site on 17 March 2025 to update my CV, and a payment of R39.95 was made as a once-off payment for the 14-day trial. Today (31 March 2025), my account was debited for R385.00 without me agreeing to a subscription. Further to this, the fact that we are using your site to build a CV to get a job means we are unemployed and do not have a lot of money for a subscription of this nature. Please refund my R385.00 with immediate effect, as I did not agree to a monthly subscription from you, and this is a scam. I have seen many reviews of people that have experienced the exact same problem, to which your replies state that they were refunded. So I expect my refund to be processed ASAP, failing which, this will be reported to the BBB.

Zety is a scam
January 24, 2025

We used their services in November 2024 and only paid for a once of, of R40.
Then the 20th of December they deducted for a subscription of R385 and we requested a refund since then and its already a month later and no refund was made. I did follow up several times and refering us back to our bank, but our bank says no refund was made into our account. I did even sent Zety our bank statements and up untill now, no refund was made.

Scam company

I made a one time purchase at Zety for a resume and these scammers sneaked a monthly fee for a "subscription." They don't send you any notifications, emails or invoices with these monthly payments and I made the mistake of not checking my credit card statements. That is my own fault but it doesn't take away from the scam behavior of this company. A quick check online will show you there's a lot of people that have the same experience with this company. Stay away from Zety and their scammer behavior.

I signed up for a 14 day trial then they kept charging me a subscription without my knowledge. There were no receipts from any of the transactions sent by the companying. They do this knowingly to scam most users. I have filed a complaint with the BBB

Unauthorized transaction by Zety.com
Zety.com charges you R40 to update your CV then after a few days they deduct R385. Money was deducted from my bank account without my authority. My bank account is on a negative balance because of the transaction they made. I'm upset and heart broken because they took the money I'm supposed to use to go to work.

Your payment was declined

Today i tried to update a few things and at the end i had to pay 2,70. Which was fine until i received an email saying 'Your payment was declined', and at the same time i see the transaction as finished in by bank statements. Not only i could not download the PDF but also got scammed into some kind of subscription.

I paid for a 14 day trial on Zety, they did not indicate anywhere that I would I was also registered for a monthly subscription after the trial period, and they charged my card 325 USD the following month that I had not authorised. I have asked for a refund that I am waiting for. That's plain theft, I hope someone sees this before linking their card to a Zety account.

I use any to create job applications for both of my sons. I love the many template options and recommendations that are provided to create a resume that stand out while creating an opportunity show their unique personalities. Once once the boys submitted their applications to various jobs, they received phone calls the very day they submitted their application. I am happy to say both of them were hired the following day after submitting their applications! Customer service is also very helpful, pleasant to speak with and accommodating. I would recommend ready to just about everyone who is searching or changing occupations.

Its a Fraud

My partner downloaded a template for $2.95 around 3 years back. Zety deceptively included an ongoing membership somewhere in the small prints in the invoice. Did not take any informed consent.

Since it was below $50 per month, I failed to notice in my periodic checks of credit card transactions for fraudulent activities.

When we contacted zety.com for a refund as we had never agreed to a subscription and never used it, they are dodging. They replied in Trustpilot only for a show.

Stay away from this shady business.

Unfortunately, I tried the trial version but after that ended I got charged for a whole month(which is the same price as a whole year) without my consent and while unaware. I tried contacting customer service regarding my subscription details and options I had for cancelling but got an literally irrelevant reply(AI generated). I'd recommend you try something else. These tactics seem sneaky.

*August 2023 update, I received customer care email with an apology and a refund. Even tho truly Zety services are fine, customer care and sneaky subscriptions are doing more harm than good. It's definitely a plus they're trying to make amends with dissatisfied customers. I hope that applies to their automatic renewals as well.

Nothing comes without a cost; they falsely claim to be free. After you finish crafting your entire CV, they request a fee for downloading it. They offer a text file for free download, which is quite ironic. If you have a paid subscription, it should be prominently advertised on the main page, but they choose not to. Instead, they let people invest time and, in the end, demand payment, causing frustration and coercing them into paying. It's indeed a clever psychological tactic.

You'll pay for a 2 week $2 subscription, and then try to cancel, except the cancel button doesn't actually work and then end up repeatedly taking money from your account each month. You also cannot remove your credit card from their website. Have to cancel my card and get a new one. Look on reddit under zety reviews, i thought it was a fluke until i noticed the same thing happened to everyone else. DO NOT USE!

They are very sneaky and how they take your money. I paid them $2 whatever they needed to get a simple cover printed.
Months later I realize they are billing me $23.75 per month. I did not even go back to their website and they were still billing me.
I tried to talk reasonably to the person who answered the phone but her only agreement would be she would give me 1/2 discount for the last month but every other month they will not reimburse me.
I would not recommend using this company unless you read all of the fine print.
