Yelp has broken their business policy and let things that are not in their standards to be done, further more they took money out of my account with out my permission based on a pushy sales man telling me that I had free advertising only to find I was robbed. I really don't understand why they do not up hold these standards and do what any other person off the street would do to you when you would think it was ok to trust them.
Yelp is fine for customers who hustle business for free services to change there review. My business has been blasted by a small % of yelpers and when you click on there profiles they only give bad reviews. Such BS. They are not much better than people who sue with attorneys for phony claims hoping a business will settle than fight a costly battle!
Rented several cars from Turo and for the most part with the exception of my last rental the transaction was ok. The cars have never been clean when I picked them up and actual had a couple of mechanical issues such as a dead battery & leaking tire but decently priced. The big problem why I will never rent from the again and warn people is the fact that I was overcharged for tolls which amounted to twice my rental and when I disputed the charge with them they " reviewed it " by just charging me. There is not a person to speak with or hotline absolutely nothing. Rent at your own risk!
Yelp is such a scam. Yelp claimed we would get lots of calls-we got 2. Now no one in account services, including our business rep, Jenna, will take our call. On hold with customer service for 30 min. Only got automated response to my emails-a real person will not contact you. What a scam rip off! Another rep, Ivan, says his department can't help-big surprise. Ivan, gave me another number that left me on hold for another 30 min.
Why hasn't someone legally taken action and been successful? This is not right!
I have called the number provided for customer service and all I was able to get is rude responses or they hang up on me after I ask just the simplest question. This is not acceptable and this will come to an end because we the people do not deserve this craziness... as I read the past reviews it makes me sick to see how many people have to experience this with personal or business matters and more so how nothing has been successfully done about it. I will definitely do major homework for this...
Yelp has terrible customer service and a ridiculous lack of accountability for service provided. I would gladly pay twice as much if people would simply "Do what they say". They tried to steal almost $500 ($50/day) for services never rendered. Sorry, not this guy. They hung up on me when I called to try to resolve the mistakes they made and that was after almost an hour of holding the line.
I have never liked Yelp. They hide bad reviews and delete goods ones unless the business owner pays them. Extortion? Sounds like it to me. It is so bias and unreliable. It is all about selling their service. I've seen it time and again where business owners are harassed and when they don't comply, Yelp wipes out the good reviews. It's just a matter of time until their reputation catches up with them and the consumer learns they cannot depend on this site.
Besides omitting your good reviews unless you pay them, they allow falsified information and personal details to be posted. This is a Karen platform and I would never take a single review written there with a grain of salt. I am amazed they are even allowed to operate.
If you are a new business owner do not I repeat "Do Not Use" Yelp.com for any marketing. I was robbed by this company $561 I was supposed to get leads I got zero yet they charged me that amount. The $300 credit is lie don't do it.
Their entire system needs to be re-organized so all consumers can have a voice and not just the ones they hand pick. The business should have a right to reply and if there is a reason for the review to be removed then it should be considered. Please have your board look at how you are doing things. Over one thousand bad reviews from businesses should tell you something. We are 4.5 to 5.0 with 8 other sources so it is time to take a long look in the mirror. Don't take this as a negative because I have done you a favor if you wake up.
Our company has been making reputation management a top priority and so we have encouraged reviews for the past two months. It did not happen immediately, but as of today over half of the reviews we had are "not recommended". So the most recent review we have is from 2017. TWO YEARS AGO! I asked a Yelp customer service rep about it and of course there isn't anything they can do due to the software. But yet you can do something about a review that needs flagging? It feels very one-sided. I will no longer refer to Yelp as a medium for reviews. Ridiculous!
I have a small voice coaching business. Yelp was hassling me with telephone calls about 2 or 3 times a week. I was not responding, but at one point, may it be because I have had enough, may it be because I had a rough day and the associate was rude, I told them that I would never pay for advertising there, as I am using other means to advertise my business, namely word of mouth.
After that, yelp proceeded to hide my reviews, and after calling them, they started saying some bull about an AI software controlling which reviews are good and which are bad.
I knew at that moment that it's payback for me not paying them.
As a business owner, I'm encouraging all of you to stop using yelp.
I had a yelp account for marketing then cancelled which was a nightmare too much money for nothing then challenging to cancel. That aside I am so annoyed by their "review algorithm" I have had all 5 star reviews half of which they will not post because the algorithm say they don't review often enough. Even though each reviewer offered to call Yelp and verify their review. I am not sure how anyone would continue to write reviews when they supposedly don't count the first ones. My market is busy woman over 40 that don't spend all day reviewing places. So half of my 5 star reviews don't show. When you call they blame it on the algorithm Like that is a real answer. Super frustrating!
As a Business owner I have hated working with Yelp. They suck. My client post 5 star reviews and for some reason yelp keeps deleting them. I was going to do a pay ad with them where you pay by the month to come up first on peoples searches, At the last minute changed my mind but they posted the account to Yelp as Closed. They would not take it down. If you are reluctant about putting yourself out there on Yelp you should be.
I called customer service to ask why out of 40 reviews my business had gotten, they had taken 32 of them off. The representative responded with a horrible attitude, "Did you not watch the video? That should explain everything..." Then he went on to say, "sorry. We don't control anything, a system does it on it's on. If you want to ask customers for reviews, tell them to go on Google or Facebook."
This business acts like they are doing our communities a favor by making it so that reviews that our businesses has worked hard to get are no longer valid. Hiding behind a "proprietary software" that works to exclude people's reviews is a joke.
I have personally created accounts on amazon, yelp (a long time ago), and other platforms, just to show a business my appreciation - but apparently that doesn't matter. It also doesn't matter that they ask for our yelp page and we send them a link (because that is not organic).
The marketing and executive branches need to take a good hard look at themselves and determine if this is the kind of dishonest business they want to be running. Exploiting businesses and essentially forcing them to pay to get a ranking they should already have is very sad.
Rather appalled and disheartened to know that the hard work I put into my businesses doesn't matter on Yelp. Thanks for working with the little guy... not
Yelp is hot right now, i hope they crash and burn. Yes my account just got cancelled, and i have just spent several hours checking out others experience on different sites. Go ahead, if your a business use them while they last. If your looking for a place to go, filtered reviews which lead to deleted reviews are more of the truth. Yelp will probably change this soon. Don't believe anything on yelp. Its a shakedown operation for businesses where positive reviews are the carrot and negative reviews the stick. For us, the curious public, its just a road they walk.
At one time our business was paying to advertise and for some of Yelps features but I stopped. I currently have 34 reviews seen but Yelps stupid algorithm has "40 other reviews that are not currently recommended".
I have tried on more than 1 occasion to get Yelp to address my concerns about now having more of my reviews "not recommended" than ones that are. I offered to prove that I could produce prove of paid invoices for clients that have reviews us on Yelp and they refuse to address it.
I explained to them it looks like we are artificially trying to inflate our reviews w/ bogus reviews which they disagree with.
I have stopped all spend with them and will never be a paying client again until they figure out a better algorithm than they currently used. No other service, to include Google has such a stupid algorithm as Yelp. Save your money and spend it on better advertising w/ companies that care about your business.
Yelp is the worst thing that ever happened to small businesses. They allow fake reviews even if you prove the review is from an ex, ex employee or a competitor. They don't care. Just give them money. They're own review on their own platform is one 1 a 1/2 stars. There's over 7000 businesses in a group on Facebook about Yelp and at least 20 more per day. Yelp exposed.
Yelp charged me $180 for one month of 8 clicks, which averaged $22.50 per click! That is an outrageous amount to spend! In an effort to keep their clients, they should consider having a max amount per click to avoid overcharging their customers. I canceled immediately after realizing how much they were charging me. Google is a much better option! I won't make this mistake again... I'm very disappointed in their unwillingness to make exceptions and provide good customer service. Don't make the same mistake I did.
Answer: Yes, it's true or they go to "not recommended"
Answer: Yelp are crooks, find some where else
Answer: For one of my business they made me pay for their monthly service which I never did, so my positive review was hidden.
Answer: Look somewhere else. As the reviews here show Yelp is notoriously unreliable.
Answer: Yes they erase all reviews they darn well wish to delete. CROOKED YELP!
