The company's reputation is significantly marred by widespread customer dissatisfaction, primarily concerning its review management practices and aggressive advertising tactics. Many users express frustration over hidden reviews, perceived extortion for advertising, and a lack of genuine customer support. Positive aspects are scarce, with some customers appreciating the platform's potential for connecting with local businesses. However, the overwhelming sentiment reveals a distrust in the company's ethics and practices, leading to calls for accountability and transparency. Overall, the feedback indicates a critical need for Yelp to address these serious concerns to rebuild trust among its users.

They lie a gig scam they want your money. Research other business and how close the dates of their reviews are.
The worst customer service and the most exaggerated and mis-leading Ads platform... Stay away and don't waste your time and money and resources on Yelp
This company's agents make you sign up for a free trial, and then charge your card and deactivate your ability to remove your card details. They keep charging even (up to a month)after I called for that they cancel immediately. They are a SCAM, please avoid them.
Would love to rate based on the service, however I cannot use it anymore, I refuse to download the app! Fu Yelp, all I wanted to do was read reviews on a product. Got bombarded with redirect to the Google play store... Push your stupid app elsewhere...
I've just starting writing reviews for this site but have already ready grown to love it. I will update this section as my opinion evolves.
Terrible to my business. I guess i have to pay for advertising to have my good reviews shown on their site as they only show 1 bad- which was not even a valid customer.
I have 3 5 star reviews but customers do not see them.
Yelp is a joke.
Asked for Breakfast Restaurants opening at &; 00 a.m. or earlier.
Got restaurants that opened at random times, none before 8; 00 -8:30
This is of no value to me.
This site is not worthy!

Don't show your good reviews or show as not recommended. Highlight negative reviews. Their sales people are manipulative and conniving. Stay away from them.
I only investigated all in a day call text and email.
I tried to cancel in 6 days they would not, now hired collection agency for $700+ for 6 days. Becareful with them.
Don't ever claim your business on yelp! They will ruin your ratings for sure! Any negative reviews will show up and all positive are "not recommended". Most worthless company I have ever seen! Hasn't hurt our sales, thankfully, but wish we would have never decided to trust them. ABSOLUTELY WORTHLESS!
If I could rate ZERO, I would Gladly do that.
I was contacted by Yelp Business customer service person a few days ago, to tell me how I should advertise on yelp with a pay per click campaign that will cost me nothing if no clicks are placed, she was very insistent, rude, pushy, annoying and very frustrating... hanged up on her a few times and she kept calling me back... You Are a Pathetic woman!
Eventually after a few more calls I told her to F. Off (literally!) I already had an Business Account with Yelp so I created a pay per click campaign to see what is it all about, (Worth mentioning- I have pay per click with Google ads, Bing ads and others, which are costly but I get business)... anyway, after I created the campaign, a few days later I see a $65.00 charge from Yelp to my credit card on the dashboard,... this is the best part.
I checked my account and seen ONE click on my ad on Yelp had cost me $65.00... ONE GOD DAMN CLICK, Not a call... a click!
I have 2 damn words for you Yelp!... I am sure you know what they are... so take your site and shove it!
So, to all you people that even consider advertising on Yelp, be aware! Their sales people are a bunch of insistent and shameless people and if you fall for it it may cost you dearly.

Their business reps are very misleading. They tell you your card will not be charged for the time being while they create your business listing with professional look and pictures and key words so that you can see and decide if you want to observe how it works than you can decide. Next thing you know your card is charged for 2 months. We will never do any business with this company nor we ever will recommend them to anyone. We don't even want to be in their free listing. We will not be associate it with such falsey company. Terrible for small business owners.
Yelp is trying for small business owners. For one thing, they want you to pay $300+ for ads. These ads do not bring me more clients. The reason? They advertise my braiding salon next to "traditional" salons and half of them aren't even in the same state. So I get a lot of hang ups, and traffic that nets me zero dollars after being charged a days salary FOR NO RESULTS. Also, they allow ANYONE WITH OUT PROOF OF PURCHASE/PATRONAGE to write bad reviews! They also hide all your 5 star reviews AND KEEP THE ONE STAR fake reviews up bringing your business ratings down. They won't remove it EVER. All your hard work SLANDERED by a neighbor or ex down the drain. Thank GOD for google, and other review sites.
It seems to me they highlight bad reviews, hide good reviews(well, unless you pay to advertise.) People can openly defame and lie about businesses and there seems to be nothing they are willing to do to help. The best part is that business get absolutely no say so in participation.
If you are a new business owner do not I repeat "Do Not Use" Yelp.com for any marketing. I was robbed by this company $561 I was supposed to get leads I got zero yet they charged me that amount. The $300 credit is lie don't do it.
I wish I had read the several hundred horrible reviews on Yelp before I decided to do the "Free $300 trial program". To start I paid several hundred- never got one sale out if it. Yelps ads & practices are deceptive, plus extortion- they purposely posted bad reviews from another business in another state from 5 years ago. They refuse to fix the issue until I pay them several hundred! When I refused, they kept harassing me, and then they reported it to credit bureau. It's unethical, unprofessional and illegal. If anybody starts a class action lawsuit, please count me in. They deserve to be put out of business!
Yelp contacted my office a few weeks ago offering a free trial of their ads. They subsequently sent a bill for $322. Some free trial. Watch out for this deceptive business practice.

They will not put your 5 star reviews and they will hide behind their algorithms excuse where they post for others. I have contracts as proof saying these are my customers but they don't care. I was advertising with them and that time my review were posted. Once I knew it was a scam, I stopped advertising. I have started using a different platform as well and its working out great!
This business acts like they are doing our communities a favor by making it so that reviews that our businesses has worked hard to get are no longer valid. Hiding behind a "proprietary software" that works to exclude people's reviews is a joke.
I have personally created accounts on amazon, yelp (a long time ago), and other platforms, just to show a business my appreciation - but apparently that doesn't matter. It also doesn't matter that they ask for our yelp page and we send them a link (because that is not organic).
The marketing and executive branches need to take a good hard look at themselves and determine if this is the kind of dishonest business they want to be running. Exploiting businesses and essentially forcing them to pay to get a ranking they should already have is very sad.
Rather appalled and disheartened to know that the hard work I put into my businesses doesn't matter on Yelp. Thanks for working with the little guy... not
