Damaged book left me out of pocket!
I had to return a book I purchased from Wordery via eBay because when it arrived the outer jacket was ripped. While they refunded the cost of the book, they didn't refund the cost of the return postage - so I ended up paying to return damaged goods. Their communication was dreadful, with messages and emails simply ignored. If you want good quality and great customer service - buy your books somewhere else.
Placed an order for two items at the same time, one from this company and one from another. I received my one order on feb 6 and have yet to receive the one I ordered from Wordery USA. Given the words USA, I assumed it would be sent from the USA. Either they are printing the item, sending it pony express or just don't care when they send it. I can't believe they received a 93% on Amazon, no way with the complaints I'm reading. Pay the extra money. It's a good thing it's not a gift!
Took them an entire week to ship a book from their UK store in Norwich to London (payment was cleared immediately) and now they blame the weather conditions, forcasted well in advance. They claim they have 25 employees and "deal with 25,000 orders on a busy day", which means one person deals with 1,000 orders per day!?! Well, if they can't cope with such demands, why don't they hire more staff? As it's an online shop and payment can reach their bank account in seconds, why do they need 6 days the order to reach their store? My first and last order!
I cancelled my order no. WRDRY-72-76-******* on 24/07/2017, but didn't know the refund had not been gone back through to my payment card until 16 months later, even I did receive cancellation confirmation email as soon as I cancelled the order.
They responded to me promptly though and process the refund accordingly after contacting them by filling in the contact form, as there was no phone that I could call. However, no explanation given what's had gone wrong and why it took over 18 months. Glad that I went through my card statement at the end. Otherwise, I would never get my refund back.
Doubt if I would use Wordery again.

Total scam. Never delivered my book and claimed they were sending a replacement, which also never arrived. Two months now and no book. I live in a doorman building and have never had a package go missing, so I know the problem is not on my end. Wish I had read these reviews before ordering.
Hi there - We're sorry to hear your order has not yet arrived. Please get in touch with us on help@wordery.com with some more details about your order, so we can resolve this for you.
I recently ordered a book from Wordery, well before christmas as a gift, but it was well past the estimated delivery time. I had to contact them several times as they failled to update me after their initial correspondence. Although the replied to my emails, the second email gave me an updated delivery date that was also missed, the book eventually arrived a week after the original estimate. At this time of year, I can appreciate that there will be delays due to the massive increase in post, however, had Wordery gave me the 'true ' delivery date, I may well have sought the book elsewhere. In my opinion, they gave a delivery date that was never going to be met just to ensure i bought from them. Lack of transparency / honesty regarding delivery dates just makes me unlikely to buy from them again.
I ordered 4 books, the first three arrived on the first or second day of the estimate. The fourth got delayed, i emailed them and asked them to keep me in the loop of whats going on, and they did. I got the fourth book 2 days after the last day of the estimate, which they told me before, after my 1st or second email. Packaging was fine, and condition of books.
I took their word for it, gave them a chance, and support was good.
I was told my order of a book had not been found. So ordered through
Ebay. Guess what another arrived from wordery. I returned it freepost
As directed no refund yet. Absolutely awful.
Wordery company provided exemplary service! My professor had us order the wrong textbook, and Wordery was very helpful in making things right through email correspondence. I would not hesitate to buy products from this company again!
It turns out that they do have a phone number which I have managed to hunt down. Their head office is based in Norwich and they are linked to a sister company called: Bertram Books: ******* *******
I phoned this number just now, all I needed to do was to ask to be put through to Wordery customer services. I got my refund. Apparently a lot of their books are 'print on demand' hence the hold-ups people are experiencing.
Hope this helps!
For some reason every order from Wordery is similar experience to Book Depository - that is they take ages to arrive. I was recently told that the delivery date given by Amazon to those who order from Wordery on Amazon platform is always way earlier than Wordery can deliver in, but Amazon forbids them from contacting customers to give correct delivery estimates so they are constantly getting complaints. None of this explains why a book sent within UK to a London address is still not here after 10 days. I've a hunch that "dispatched" just means they emailed a warehouse elsewhere and asked them to send the book when they can. Someone once told me that Book Dep, for example, don't have books on site.
Purchased 2 calendars on January 1st, one for myself and one for my sister. After nothing had arrived 3 weeks later, I emailed Wordery to inquire about shipping/tracking. I emailed a few times and had a different person each time. They were friendly but not very helpful... one customer service person said I should check with my neighbors to see if they'd received my calendar. Wordery does not use tracking on orders so there is no way to tell when your item will arrive or where it is :/ Not the worst experience ever, but definitely not the best and wouldn't buy again. My calendar arrived a little over 3 weeks after payment and my sister's arrived a full month after payment.
The book I ordered is on undetermined delay from the publisher. Wordery gladly canceled my order, but has yet to refund my payment despite several reminders asking for it to be processed. I've contacted PayPal for assistance, as that was my method of payment. Please avoid ordering from this site.
I am beyond upset with this company, I'm sure I have devil horns and a tail because of how angry I am. I ordered from them before Christmas by the date and time it said to receive the product before Christmas and I still have not received it. Last Monday or Tuesday I got an email from the account I had ordered on saying that it would be here within 7 business days. I still have not gotten my package! Now, I try to log into my account to see the status of my package and guess what, I all of the sudden do not have an account with my email that they emailed me on a week ago. They've already taken the money from my account as well. Totally great site... N O T!
I ordered my daughter 2 books on DEC. 07th for Christmas that was supposed to take 7 working days to arrive. It has now been 14 working days and I still have not received my items. Christmas has now passed and i have emailed several times with no response. Very POOR customer service. STAY AWAY. Pay a few more dollars somewhere else at least you will receive your item.
I have received a book for my grandson that is a cardboard book and the last 4 pages do not open as stuck together and the sound button does not work. Sent lots of emails and just get automatic reply saying will reply within 24hours but dont. There is no contact number. The books I ordered did come quickly so must have a depot here.
Amazed why Amazon use this company. Ordered a small in stock book from the UK warehouse. I'm at 2 and a half weeks now and still no book and of course no tracking information.
Wish they could ship as fast as they take the money...
Absolutely disgusting customer service. Ordered New Year Sacred Journey journal from these people in November. Supposed to arrive Dec 6 - 21 and didn't. I requested they please expedite as this was part of my now missed New Year ritual and I use it every day. No apology, just a snippy email from "Mat" saying they could refund my $ or it would take another 15 days. Absolutely HEARTLESS service. I ordered through Amazon.ca (Wordery is a third party seller) and this gives Amazon a bad name. I can understand an occasional shipment getting lost but the test of a professional company is how they handle it.
Ordered a book on first of month, due to ship in a week, and arrive in 10 days for a trip a month out. Now 2 days prior to my trip, they, after 3 delays, ship the book. No effort to get it here faster, communication over the last delay, when I tried customer service twice to get my book shipped, and no answer. If you live in the USA, do not order from this company. Service is substandard, and the delivery times are as if they put it on a boat. You can send it UK mail, and get it to NY faster than 11 days. Order from Book Depository or Amazon if you actually want to get your book. Wordery is awful.
Returned items weeks ago and they have not refunded
I have sent several emails and have had to escalate to paypal - they do not respond or explain why they have not refunded. The lied and said they only received 1 item back when it was 4 - all in all an exhausting experience and the customer service team are a waste of space. I would sooner pay more and not have this hassle.
Wordery has a rating of 1.6 stars from 94 reviews, indicating that most customers are generally dissatisfied with their purchases. Reviewers dissatisfied with Wordery most frequently mention customer service and day delivery. Wordery ranks 385th among Books sites.
